Avery decided it was likely best if he started moving the human he found towards the portal. After a bit of poking and prodding he realized the other sleeping figure had no intentions of waking up right now. Scoffing, he hoped his sister was alright. Sighing he rubbed the back of his neck. Now then. He'd already found the human, hugged it and now it was time to carry the human in his arms!

Only when the younger reaper went to try it didn't work out as intended. His strength seemingly didn't want to work with him. Grunting in discomfort he tried hoisting the other up over his shoulder and nearly fell over. Blinking he shifted to instead gather the other over his back holding up the unconscious male as he began to carry the other. He couldn't run at a full clip like he was use too, it was like the fog had zapped all his extra energy. Unfortunately he got lost fairly easily, and ended up nearly right back where he'd started, even finding one of the humans items he'd accidentally dropped.

His spirit guide Lamento briefly materialized, looking between Avery and the human on his back before swooping down, lifting up the fallen candle item. The bird spirit was both his weapon, and constant companion. He empowered his totem and made it possible for him to harvest fear. The pair shared a deep connection, and now was no different. The reaper gave it a considering look, deciding if he needed it he'd grab for it later and save his totem for a more desperate matter.

1 /10 yards dragged!

Grunting with a bit of effort, the icy blue eyed reaper struggled to carry the sleeping human. Surprisingly, he actually started making excellent progress in a relatively short amount of time.

Was he getting heavier or was carrying the weight really that difficult? By the elements, he wasn't sure what it was but this kid wasn't as light as he'd initially estimated. Once he had carried the human all the way up to the next portal location he glanced back over his shoulder. "Hang on squishy human, I'll get you to safety." He chuckled, stepping across the shimmering light feeling as it pulled him in.

His unconscious victim was no help, but he pulled them both across the way. Nervousness stirred in him as he looked around, searching for his sibling as he worried at his bottom lip chewing at it. Where was he? This certainly hadn't been the location he'd thought he'd be pulled to once crossing the portal. He wasn't even there long, enough time to register his surroundings and adjust the squishy on his possession to keep him close before he heard the ominous voice speaking to him.

We will consume you and your Fear will be ours.

No! They couldn't have him or Lamento, or this little sleepy human he'd found. Avery wouldn't be consumed, refused to even. The shaman fled, finding his best defense was to keep moving before that thing caught up with him. With a delicate human in his possession,a nd even with the weakness brought on by his surroundings the taller male sprinted away as quickly as his long legs would carry him. He refused for this to be how it would end.

11/10 yards dragged! Portal entered.

Without a moment to spare, he held tightly to his unconscious human as he fled down the motorway. His boots churned and thudded heavily against the ground. He had to find some kind of getaway vehicle! His blue eyes darted around nervously, searching for some kind of way out.

What Avery found was a really sweat looking, albeit extremely weird looking flat car. It was sleek and shiny and caught the raven-totem wielding shaman off guard. He really didn't have much time to inspect it, all that mattered was this one had keys in it! Pulling the door open he flopped his passenger in the back seat. His body was exhausted, and felt lethargic but he slammed his foot down on the gas peddle.

They had to get out of there and fast! He didn't need to look back to confirm what he felt was a disturbance in the natural forces of the world. Fear pushed him to drive faster, trying to race towards the next portal destination before it closed. He'd been warned it was extremely time sensitive.

Avery had to make it to that damn portal! He was convinced the ugly horse thing was going to kill him. Worry for his sibling while present was being overidden by his own desire to stay alive. The reapers heart pounded wildly as he urged the mechanical contraption onward, fussing with the keys in the ignition a bit nervously.

He wasn't disappointed, the reaper was soon clinging to the stirring wheel trying to keep from screaming as they zoomed down the old highway, leaving the horse creature behind. Cheering in relief he laughed, smacking the stirring wheel enthusiastically as he checked the review mirror.

His human wasn't sleeping anymore and was staring at him with a wide eyed horrified look. "You don't look so good kid, you should lie back down I'll get you to the p..." He screeched as the human tried to attack him. Screaming Avery swerved the car violent nearly rolling it.

"WHERE IS JAY!" The human's mismatched silver and blue eyes blazed angrily as he took another swing at the reaper.

While slaming on the breaks would have been bad, Avery did come to a slower pace. "I don't even know who Jay is.." He started to say.

"Liar! What did you do with him!" He cried, swiping at the shadowy creature again as he felt tears brimming in his eyes unaware what had happened.

"Hey calm down already! I'm just trying to get you safely to the portal.." He looked back as if to indicate to the location, and realized much to his horror it had vanished at some point while he tried to talk the other down. Growling he got out of the car running over to where he had seen the portal just mere moments ago. "No! By all that is Jacking holy where did it go!" He growled kicking at the location.

Now what the hell was he supposed to do! The pamphlet didn't cover this, not even remotely closely. Chewing on a fingernail, Avery paced watching the human who was glaring at him practically sobbing now. Whoever this 'Jay' person was, they were important to him. "Stop your whining human! We'll find my sister and your Jay whatever that is together." He rolled his eyes, standing over him as he smirked. "I helped you this far, it can't hurt to stick around a little longer." Avery concluded with a shrug of his shoulder.

In truth he had just been surprised the human had actually hit him and it stung, whoever this small male was he was unusual. Avery felt compelled to at least give the other a fighting chance in his harsh environment. Besides what else was he going to do? They were trapped here together for the now.

(6+5) = 11/10km traveled (no damage taken!)
