Kari shivered as she neared a staggering amount of cars crammed on top of one another. She had decided not to abandon the woman that had caused her predicament. Doing so would solve nothing, and was detrimental to the task she had set out for.
A scratching sound stopped the reaper in her tracks. Her fears were quickly confirmed as... something... crawled out from around a stack of cars.
"What the Jack is that?," asked to no one in particular. Setting the woman's body aside, Kari tried to summon her staff... and got nothing.
Her frustrations growing, Kari grabbed the fishing pole the woman had been carrying and brandished it. This felt ridiculous!

Owain felt a little listless; something was restraining his weapon on top of his own strength. Jack noted there was no Fear being stored, so he had to be careful.
"Careful" probably wasn't running into a reaper and her mob, nor was it summoning his own on accident.

Deciding to ignore the presence of a hunter since he wasn't attacking her, Kari focused her efforts on stabbing the giant enemy that had appeared with him.

He managed a glance in the midst of the battle and saw that the ghoul was also in possession of a human. Seemed like this really was a concentrated effort.

It was nice to not get a hostile greeting too while he was at it. Granted, the radio told him that most students were apparently rather young, if not fresh into Amity; he wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not, given the circumstances.
