Frustration.
At this point it had become apart of her very being, and every interaction with another from her team only made things worse. She had been trying to avoid being in the same area as one of them, but a recent upturned gaze from another made her anger flare up unexpectedly, a strong desire to not feel judged or be with another feeling like she needed to feel guilty for something. She had done s**t, it was in the past, she was trying to get better, and holding grudges against her wouldn't fix anything. What mattered was that she was trying. Her boots stomped into the dirt with a firm anger-- At this point, Forera was volatile, she was violent and had distanced herself from the main village to be among nature, maybe a run would help. But it proved futile, as the further she ran, the angrier she became. At this point, she didn't even know where she was in the swamp, slowing to a stop next to a fallen tree. Panting, fuming, angry-- A shrill shriek of anger tore her throat apart, resounding throughout the area, followed by a loud THUMP.
Forera had just punched a tree with her robot hand. She breathed heavily, shaking it off and snarling, feeling pain shock her arm. She sighed, still angry, but instead sat down next to the tree, still fuming.

Etsali had been doing a lot of wandering lately, branching out further and further from the village each time she set out. Whether she really liked it or not, and she wasn't really clear which that was just yet, she was going to be spending a lot of time here in the swamp. She'd thrown her lot in with this group and it kind of seemed like at this point staying with them was the way to go. But if she was going to spend that much time here, she needed to get used to the area. Needed it to be something more than just a murky reminder of a plant-filled cave and narrow daywalker escapes.
Tonight, as she carefully picked her way through the trees, she'd been stopped dead in her tracks by a shriek that tore through the air. The correct move, she knew, was probably to cut a hasty retreat back towards the village. But that had sounded troll, and if someone was hurt out here, she ought to at least see if she could help somehow, right? She edged that way as quietly as she could, reaching down to snap open the pouch that held her kunai.
When the source of the sound turned up Forera sitting next to a tree and practically radiating every bad feeling in the book, she was equal parts relieved and concerned. At least she wasn't wounded, but she clearly wasn't handling something well. Maybe it was about time they talked that out, see if it helped. She let out a quiet sigh and then pulled on a friendly smile, purposefully stepping on a twig as she moved out to where the tealblood would be able to see her.
"Hey, Forera! " She lifted a hand in a wave. "How you holding up?"

The minute she heard a twig, the teen's head snapped up, alert. Her eyes were hard and rough, but the minute she saw Etsali, they weakened, instead becoming a little softer, a little happier. Calmer. "Heya, Ets," Forera said, obviously not in a good mood. She realized now that if Etsali was there, she'd probably heard her screaming and shouting, her shriek of anger as well. She slid an embarrassed hand through her hair. "...I'm guessing you heard me." Forera sighed, exasperated. "Not too good." Her eyes cut to the side, pouting. "The usual. With the girls. It's soooo frustrating." She lay her head back on the tree, clenching and unclenching her mechanical fist. "Normally when I'm, like, mad, Anguis and I fight. But he's like, not around. So..." She glanced at the imprint on the tree, exhaling angrily. "Nature's gonna have to do, I guess."

As soon as it was obvious Forera had spotted and recognized her, Etsali finished her approach and crouched just in front of the tealblood. "Well," she hummed, "I heard something alright." She listened attentively a moment and then nodded at the confirmation of what had caused the frustration, which was just what she'd expected. She still wasn't sure how to handle whatever kind of rift had opened up between Forera and 'the girls' or even if she ought to be sticking her nose into it at all, really.
But being a distraction? She could definitely handle that.
"Ahh, the big guy wasn't around so you found a different kind of tree, huh?" The thief glanced back up at the imprint, letting out a little whistle, then reached up to scratch her cheek. When her eyes dropped back down to Forera's, she grinned and pulled her hand back a little to point at her own face. "How about me instead then?"

Forera covered her face a little, feeling a slight blush slide onto her face and grumbling a little. She really hadn't meant to get so angry, but hey, she was flying off the handle more and more these days. "If I found tree-man-Snake, believe me, he wouldn't be a tree anymore." Forera murmured under her breath, huffing and crossing her arms with a pout before glancing up at the brownblood and her response, eyes widening. "Whaaaat! You'd like, fight me?!" She said, feeling slight excitement surge through her veins. Forera immediately stood up, stumbling to a place to the side because she didn't want to simply jump into battle and take her off guard! Naah, she only did that when people annoyed the hell out of her! She could get the first hit, if she wanted-- Forera was simply ready with a battle stance. "Lets do this, then!"

Etsali couldn't help but snort at 'tree-man-snake' and was still laughing a little as she followed Forera back up to her feet. "Sure! Should be fun, right?" She glanced back at the imprint left in the tree again, considering, and then turned to face her friend once she'd moved to a better starting point. Then she reached into the pouch at her belt to pull free a kunai, spinning it idly around a finger before shifting the grip comfortably into her palm.
"For blocking," she clarified with a quick wave towards Forera's metal hand as she moved into an offensive stance. "Promise I'm not going for blood." Winking, she motioned for Forera to make her first move.

Forera dealth 7 damage! Forera wasn't exactly sure what Etsali's definition of fun was, but she supposed if she offered it, it should've been something fun for her too. Seeing Etsali pull her kunai, Forera grinned wider, eyebrows lifting slightly when she heard it was simply as defense. She was still wearing her gauntlet on her metal arm, something she'd grown accustomed to due to constantly traveling the forest spontaneously and sometimes forgetting to bring the other hand. Forera quirked a brow. She obviously didn't know how Forera fought at all times! "Sorry Ets, but its only fun-- When you fight for blood!" Forera exclaimed, taking advantage of her offering Forera the first hit-- She dashed over, landing a direct hit on her side with her metal hand. She took a few quick steps back before keeping her guard up, hands lifted in front of her torso in defense as she waited for Etsali's turn. "I promise, I won't hurt ya too bad!"

When Etsali had offered to take the place of the tree as a sparring partner, she somehow hadn't actually expected Forera to hit her quite as hard as she had it. Only fun when you fight for blood indeed. She was pretty sure she could feel the bruising already. She shook the pain off with a laugh though, because this was a friendly spar and that was what great thieves did, and gave her friend another grin.
"Good hit!" And then she was crossing the space between them at full speed, taking her 'turn' with an unrelenting assault of kunai swipes. All she had to do was play keep away from any punches thrown with that hand, right? "Don't expect it to be so easy the next time though!"

Forera dealt 7 damage! Etsali was definitely being a good sport about this-- Forera was going all out, like always. She barely managed a good block this time, being directly assaulted by the brownblood's swipes, releasing a loud, hearty laugh of excitement, returning the grin easily. "I wouldn't be so sure!" Forera exclaimed as she moved, aiming to slam her fist into her side-- But before the brownblood could block the predictable hit, Forera twirled around and slammed it into her other side with just as much force as her first hit. She darted backwards eagerly, a smile on her face without so much as a pant exhaled. "C'mon! Y'can get me!"

It should have been an easy dodge. She'd been expecting it, after all! But somehow Etsali hadn't quite accounted for a feint instead of a direct attack and, really, she was sure Keeper was huffing disapprovingly even way back in New Hemisect. Shaking her head, she kept a grin on her face as she backed off, weighing her options. One thing was for sure, close combat wasn't doing her any favors here.
"Alright, alright, I'll give you that one." Tossing her kunai to her other hand, she reached down to pull a second free. "So let's switch things up a bit." She flicked the second up into air, reaching up to make a show of catching it. The moment her fingers touched, her arm was moving again, sending it flying straight for the tealblood.

Forera dealt 8 damage!(APPARENTLY??!??!?!) The kunai slashed her arm like a razor, leaving a cut that actually made her suck in a small breath of pain before letting it bubble into water. She was doing well! Maybe she'd need to step it up a bit-- Biting down on her lip ring, the tealblood felt her actions get faster-- Adrenaline pumped inside her veins like lighting, closing the distance between them in four bounds and slamming her hand into her chest-- gearing her other hand for one more hit, before--
Forera's hand aimed directly at Etsali's face. Then it stopped. She felt bad-- she was practically pummeling her with all she had, and Ets was just being a good friend. She was already calmer, and happier to boot! She instead unclenched her hand to offer it as a handshake. "Thanks! I feel soooo much better!!" She said, smiling at Etsali, feeling almost refreshed and ready for the next thing. "Really. I needed that." Her smile was earnest, truthful. She was definitely thankful she had Etsali.

Etsali hadn't even known Forera could move that fast. It hardly seemed fair for her to cross the distance in that amount of time and hit that hard, but somehow she could and she had. The blow to her chest knocked the breath out of her entirely, and there wasn't really anything she could do but flinch as the other arced towards her face. The extra dose of pain never came though, and after a few seconds had passed, the thief opened one eye to check if it was still coming or not.
To say she was relieved that Forera had decided to stop there was an understatement. She sucked in enough air for a little laugh, reaching out to shake the tealblood's hand, and then let go to drop unceremoniously to the ground. She gave her friend a grin to show she was fine and nodded, pleased to see the pummeling had cheered her up.
"Anytime!" Reaching up to rub at one of her growing bruises, she shook her head. "Well, except right now. I'm gonna need a minute before we try that again." Another laugh, one that came easier. "I ever tell you how glad I am we're on the same side?"

Forera released a loud giggle before placing both hands on her hips and releasing a loud laugh. "Next time I'll be like, sure to go a little nicer! That was a little unfair of me, sooorry!" Forera stared at her for a little before sitting down next to her, deciding Etsali needed one well earned break. "Yeeaaah, I'm feeling like a total newly hatched wiggler, Ets! It's super alright, I think I'm set for at least a littttleee while." At least, until one of those bitches starts up again. Forera pushed that thought out of her head, deciding to focus on her friend now. The grin that spread across the tealbloods face showed how mollified she was after hearing Etsali's words, and Forera winked and giggled. "I mean, yer pretty badass too, Ets! I just got..." Forera's arm snapped up, and she started flexing her arms, grinning. "...These beaaaaautiful pythons. Hehehehaha!" She kissed one before smacking it and releasing a loud laugh. "We can like, totally head back together!" She blinked, before looking around. "...If ya know where we are. 'Cause. Uhh. I def don't!"
