It had been hard to keep going especially when all he wanted to do was break down. The inward battle kept raging on even when there was nothing to feed it. At least nothing logically. The voices were persistent, growing in volume as they fed his paranoia. Maybe the others really didn't need him around. Was that why he was here now all alone? He just needed someone to talk to. The vision of his boyfriend still haunted him and even now it nearly took him to his knees.
His hand pressed to his chest as his heart gave a painful beat. The memory was like a fresh wound and he wasn't sure if what he had seen was real or if he was losing his mind. Had it really been Hitsu's brother?
Taking in a shaky breath he looked around having no clue where he had managed to end up. He was lost in this maze of halls and rooms but if he listened carefully he could hear the pitter pat of footsteps in the distance. There were others, they had to be close, but it wasn't the only noise he heard. The scraping noise had barely caught his attention at first thinking it was just the decaying building making noise. It was only when it grew louder and more distinct that Cecil began to worry.

It had taken a lot of wandering blind in the fog, and more than one strange occurrence for Hitsu to finally make her way to into the hospital itself. She had hoped - prayed - that she would find members of her faction inside. She had found someone, and she was still shaken. Had what she seen been real? It was so vivid... But even in her grief she didn't want to believe it. The sight, the words... They weren't something that she could forget. Her heart was racing and she was too frightened and panicked to actually grieve, even if she felt like she should have been.
Hitsu wanted to find someone. Anyone. She would feel so much safer if she weren't alone, she was sure of it. When the strange sounds of metal scraping, dragging the floor, she had snapped her attention to the source. Nothing had been there. Not until she turned her attention back to the direction she had been wandering in her lost state
She wasn't certain when she began running, but she was out of breath and she felt sick. The girl rounded a corner and collided with Cecil, shrieking in the same moment. Her arms flew up in front of her to shield her face and she stumbled backward in a rush, afraid that she was about to witness another person she deeply cared for rot away in front of her very eyes. She couldn't. Not a second time!

Cecil had just started to turn around to investigate the sound behind him when he felt something hit his front. He yelled out, startled by it and the scream that followed. He took a step back, shielding himself as well until he saw Hitsu. "H-Hitsu?" The large man was almost afraid to look at her. Afraid of what would happen. Was this a vision or was it reality?
He dared to reach out, a hand gently resting against her shoulder. She felt real, though the last vision had as well. Even now it sent a shiver down his spine and his stomach churning. "Hitsu have you seen any of the others?" He tried to keep his voice steady but there was a panic to his words. "We need to find the others. It's not safe here. Being in the hospital isn't safe."
He tried to calm his nerves to no avail. The deep breath he took in only came out shaky and far from steady. "I need to get you out of here." But before he could determine the way the scrapping noise that had grown in volume came to a slow and suddenly halt. It was so close and an eerie feeling began to crawl its way up Cecil's spine making the hair on the back of his neck stand on end.
Wide eyes dared to glance over his shoulder afraid of what he would find and it was for good reason. An apparition stood at the end of the hall a good twenty to thirty feet away but it's size was formidable. It reached the ceiling with ease dragging behind it a sword of impossible size. It was possible, in that brief moment, Cecil knew what it was like to be short.
Silence dragged out for several seconds, Cecil frozen and the creature a statue against the darkness. And then it began to move. That was all it took to fuel Cecil's fear and kick him into action. "Run..." He muffled out at first before he turned to Hitsu and forcefully turned her down hallway. "RUN!" He tried to run too, keeping Hitsu in front of him but there was a sting of something sharp against his back. There was no time to look, no time to dare and check what had happened all he knew was it was time to go.

"Cecil!" The cry was worry and relief, and she reached for him as he reached for her, gripping his arms and inwardly thankful that he was really there. It was different from the person - vision - she had seen before. Her brother hadn't tried to reassure her.
She wanted to tell him, and she looked pained when he asked if she'd seen anyone else. "N-Nico... I saw- I think-" she took a shaking breath and started to shake her head in denial. "God, it was terrible!"
It looked like she was about to become frantic, whether or not she was going to elaborate, her breath quickening and hands shaking. It couldn't have been real. The virus didn't work so swiftly. Did it?
Metal on tile echoed through the hallway, echoing in her ears and making her hastily catch her breath and freeze. She then remembered the sound that she'd heard, same as Cecil, unbeknownst to her.
The was pure coincidence that her own hallucination of the hulking shadow was on the same end of the hall as Cecil saw it. "D-do you see..." Hitsu stammered quickly, and then her gaze shifted. Closer. Lower.
She saw him there, looking lost in the hallway, tears in his wide eyes. He stood frozen, staring at her, but not coming closer. Had he been there with Cecil? They would have to carry him; he wouldn't be able to run. It baffled her why Cecil wouldn't have picked him up to begin with!
"Liam?!" She was moving in a rush as soon as the name was uttered, going toward the thing that Cecil was shouting for them to run from. Reaching for a child that wasn't there. Reaching for nothing. "Liam, come here!"

Cecil didn't want to know if what he was seeing was real or not, in his eyes it was and just hearing Hitsu ask only solidified his fear. "I see it go!"
He tried to hurry her along but before they could make it far she was shouting. Liam? His gaze turned back looking for their university comrade or even the small child he once knew but neither were in sight. Only the large apparition that was currently lifting its sword with more strength than it should have had ready to strike again.
"Liam isn't here! No one is there! RUN!" He snatched for Hitsu's arm just as she was running toward the creature and got hit for his efforts. Cecil wouldn't allow himself to let go no matter how much pain he was in, no way was he going to let her go and leave her here.
With no time to pick her up he ran using the grip on Hitsu's arm to haul her along even if it was against her will. He hoped it wouldn't leave a bruise but he didn't have time to worry about that now. Not when they were about to die.
"Keep running!" He urged, panic filling his chest and making it tight. Each breath was an effort and he could only hear the thundering of his heart and the smack of their shoes against the ground. How close was the creature? Cecil was grateful he worked out, his ability to run could be long lasting but he wasn't sure about Hitsu. "Go this way!" They had come to a T crossing and he shoved her down one side. "Keep going I will try to lead it away! GO!"
He turned back just in time to see the creature closing in and he did his best to gain its attention before he shot down the opposite side of the hall. All his hopes rested on this plan working. He didn't think he could fight it, the creature was far too big and so he kept running. Cecil ran until his lungs hurt and his legs ached. He ran until he was completely lost and then he kept on running until he was certain, at long last, he was alone. It was a feeling that gave him no security.

"Help him!"
A familiar voice that wasn't Cecil's called to her just as the man's hand grabbed hold of her to haul her back, narrowly missing the strike that Cecil took instead. Her wide eyes went from the child she couldn't reach because of Cecil's grip, and past the apparition to where one of her brothers was running toward them from the other end of the long hallway.
"Let go! Let go, I have to--" She cut off abruptly. While she had heard his claim that no one was there she didn't believe him. Not until the child that was reaching for her, crying, suddenly vanished before her eyes into the mist. A frantic glance to where she'd seen a young man running for them, and there was nothing. Nothing but the terrifying creature that was giving chase as Cecil dragged her stumbling along with him.
Only then did she actually try to start running, and as she struggled to keep up with Cecil's speed she pulled one of her pilfered knives from her belt and turned enough to throw it spinning toward the monster on their heels in hopes of slowing it down. And another. Throwing away weapons was likely not a good idea, but she had little choice.
Suddenly that painful grip was gone and Hitsu struggled to keep on her feet as Cecil shoved her away from him. Her heart was in her throat and she didn't want to lose him and she didn't want to die. However, his firm shout forced her into obedience and she ran while calling back to him loudly.
