RULES OF THIS GAME:
[ Step 1]: - You may play this solo or with [up to five people! If you wish to invite other players, put [ OPEN ] at the top of your post. This means you are open for inviting other players. All players may now come in, and roll in whatever order they wish, you really don't have to wait for players to get your rolls in! Tally sums accordingly. The group RP portion is really for thread recycling and if you want to chat with each other.
Label your thread [ BLACKJACK RP] (PLAYERS HERE). You can play cross faction, obviously! Remember MINIMUM 1 players MAX 5 players!
The player who made the thread is responsible for closing it when finished.
[ Step 2]: All players must now roll 2d12 and make their FIRST POST in that thread. This equals the CARDS they have on their hands where 1= Ace, 11 = Jack, 12 = Queen. There are no kings. Edit your OOC accordingly with your hand. Make a post regarding your hand/entering the thread/ etc. SUM up the value of these cards in your OOC.
If you somehow hit over the value of 21 in this draw, it is GAME OVER. You lose [ -5 casino coins ]. You are out of this game.

Once you are bored of playing, or if you wish to player with another player you may end this thread and do so. Remember that you can only play 3 of the same game (where applicable) an OOC day for points, the rest is just for RP text!
Blackjack. Blackjack was something Diana knew. She had never done it for money or you know, lives, before but she had played for fun when she was younger and had nothing to do but play cards with the other kids of the block. She sat at the dealer table, looking her cards over that she had been handed. A one and two. A small amount, and one she could work with. It was better than getting a high number right off the bat. She had a chance to reach her goal still and get more coins. As long as she didn't bust and didn't come up short she would be okay, right?
What was with all these low numbers? Not that she was complaining or anything. If she kept getting low numbers then she could slowly make her way to twenty one. It was a safer strategy and at this point she really liked safe.
Monica had been lucky before, so it stood to reason that she could repeat the feat...right?
"Diana," she smiled. She was glad to see someone she recognized.
Wait. Wait, no she wasn't. "I hope you do well," she confessed, frowning worriedly over at Diana's cards. Not that she could see them.
Wait. She should probably...mind her own cards. Monica took a deep breath and peeked.

Actually...why not? Monica took a breath. She'd be all right, right? She crossed her fingers and smiled at the dealer: not a confident look, but it was not a confidence-inducing situation. "Hit me," she managed to say.
Oh, no. No, no, no...she'd gone over by one.
This was not a pleasant feeling, thought Monica, peeking down at her cards. "Here you go," she grumbled, pushing her five coins across the table to the dealer.
"...yeah," said Monica, turning back to Diana with big, worried eyes. "I'm so scared for - for my little brother." He'd looked just like the other guy.

"Damn it!" she hissed as she went over, shaking her head at her stupid mistake. She grudgingly pushed her coins towards the dealer, still kicking herself about it. She wouldn't mess up next time. Turning over to Monica she frowned as the thought of the younger teen she'd seen.

Another round and she wasn't too thrilled about it now. She needed to play smart before she lost all of her coins. She would go through everything really fast if she didn't.

She was sitting at eleven. That was safe, right? She wasn't pushing her luck too much if she hit again. She could only get two numbers to send her over. Much better chances than before. She had to chuckle at Monica's response, and figured she should explain more.
"Max. The van driver for the prison. I've been looking out for him, especially when he got blinded by the bandits. I just want to make sure he makes it out of here too. What's this about racing though? Sounds exciting."

Hey she'd actually won and hadn't busted!!!! Oh she was pleased she had pushed her luck and not gone over this time. Maybe now she could actually gain some traction and get more coins. She just had to be more careful and not push her luck too terribly much.
"Oh, that sounds awful," Monica said, shaking her head. "My friend Greta had her jaw broken." In other words there'd been pain all around. Monica had been lucky to escape with only...uh, "only" blood loss.
"Ah, uh - yeah! It was pretty exciting. I like going fast," she confessed. "Um, hit me," she told the dealer. "But I think it made me a bit overconfident when it comes to driving," she said again, turning back to Diana. "How about...um, if you don't mind my asking. How about you?"
...oh no, Monica thought, when she saw her new card. Why was she doing so badly? At least Diana had won. She gave the other girl a small smile. She was back under halfway...was it a good idea to keep playing?

"Me? Well....I made a lot of bad choices in life. Got into stealing everything I could. It started out as stealing to feed myself and then it just sort of escalated from there. The day before day zero I was trying to set myself straight, but saw these really really nice shoes. I wanted them so I took them, but I got caught finally. I guess I should be happy I did," she muttered, motioning for the dealer to give her more cards.
"In a weird way this whole apocalypse thing is a way for me to start over and make my life better. If I survive long enough that is."
