Finally a task that Lorena felt she was up for, or at least it was a task she believed she was good at. She had been given floor 13, which was quite spooky, and a partner as well. The apartment they`d been given was 1305 and Lorena wasn`t too sure what to expect. Once on the floor, she went to the door and opened it, making a face at how dirty the place was. Before she`d go in though, she`d wait for her partner. The place was messy but with two people it wouldn`t take them very long to get the place in tiptop shape again.

Seeing that her partner hadn`t arrived, Lorena went in Perhaps they had forgotten or were simply late. She may as well get started if she ever wanted to finish. Heading in, Lorena went to the kitchen first. Digging in the drawers she found a box of old garbage bags and opened one up. There were some old food and paper spewed across the floor and Lorena picked those up first. Then it was onto empty the fridge of everything that wasn’t good and molding. Then it was putting away things that could actually be of use at some other point in time. It took her a while but once she was done the kitchen looked pretty good.

He was late in arriving, but that was mostly thanks to the efforts of Umbrella, who had taken one of Durza's shoes and run through the cafeteria with it as an attempt to get him to exercise. Durza liked exercise but not when he had work to to, that was just a bothersome thing. He headed out, jogging up the stairs to meet Lorena with one shoe untied. The raccoon seemed smug as it trailed behind him, grinning to itself like it had done its job well and was bound to be rewarded for it all.

It was time to move on to the dining room. Here there was mostly some over turned furniture which Lorena righted. She also picked u the larger garbage items that littered the floor and put those as well into garbage bags and then swept the floor. The place was starting to look not so shabby now. Still lots to do. Rooms, living room, bathroom… Lorena didn`t even want to think about what shed find in there.

"I'm sorry I was late," Durza grimaced as he entered, beginning to help by taking on the task of the living room. The place was a mess, and Umbrella continued to find items that didn't belong there, like a baby rattle. Durza was amused by his companion's playful attitude after finding the toy. A lost child's toy, owner likely long dead, now amusing a pet that may have been born as a wild animal.

“Hey don’t worry about it. Dinning and kitchen are done.” Lorena had wondered for a while where Durza had gotten his little friend, now was as good of a time as any to ask. “Where’d you get the raccoon?” Lorena grabbed the broom and began sweeping a couple of things to the side so they weren’t stepping on more stuff.

"Who, Umbrella? I found him in my first scavenging round." he replied, looking down at the occupied beast. Umbrella chattered happily as he rolled about with the rattle. "He was someone's pet before day one."

“Ah that’s cool.” Lorena never had had a pet before; Hurby certainly hadn’t allowed her one either. “Can I pet him?” She didn’t know raccoons could be house pets, nor had she ever seen one this up close. The room was close to being done now, it was much faster when two people put their minds to work.

Lorena leaned down and outstretched her hand towards the raccoon. When he came close she let her hand run over his fur to pet Umbrella. “He’s cute.” Standing up again, it looked like they were done with the living room. “We could separate the bathroom and bedroom, will be faster. Which one did you want?”

He grimaced and looked toward the bedroom. "I'll take the bathroom, but can you take Umbrella with you to clean the bedroom? His nose might be too sensitive to work in those conditions."

“Bedroom it is.” Durza was probably right, who knew what he’d find in there. Lorena made her way over to the single bedroom of the apartment, it wasn’t really messy. There was clothing spewed all over the place, the bed unmade and half on the ground but nothing she couldn’t handle. So Lorena got to work while keeping an eye on Umbrella wondering what he was doing as he sniffed around. Once finished she joined Durza in the bathroom doorway.

Durza was scrubbing as best he could but the bathroom was still a mess of gore and excrement. He shook his head as she made her comment. "Bleach won't fix this unless we douse the whole room."
