The daily tasks given out to those living in the apartments kept Lorena sane, at least as sane as one could get when you’d been locked up for a month with strangers in a complex surrounded by crazy zombies that wanted to eat you. Still, it was nice to have some routine between all the craziness that had gone down in the past month so Lorena couldn’t complain much. Plus, since it was dark it meant that she could team up with people and not have to do things alone. So that was another great bonus to this adventure! At least in her books anyways.
They were supposed to be five now, Lorena was the first to arrive just before the time they’d been given. She looked around the empty hall hands clasped in front of her. She didn’t know who else was supposed to be coming, hopefully she remembered all of their names.

Fantasia, she of short stature and shorter of communication, ducked in more than walked in, as if she was being followed. It was hard for her to ever be at peace, even within the apartment complex; the only time she ever did feel okay was when she spaced out, and those weren't her healthiest times.
Head bent, she pocketed her hands and leaned against the wall, more content to look weird than to say hello. More people were coming anyway; she'd get her share of hellos and friendlyish personalities. Maybe.
Guilt pried a mumbled, "Hey," to the ground.

She was always good with heading out as a group. Not usually at night, but whatever. She headed down from her fourth floor studio and floated through the too-familiar hallway. Mel jogged the rest of the way when she saw Lorena and Fanta standing in the distance.
"Hey-hey," she greeted, bit more chipper than the usual. Naps did wonders for her mood.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF MY CHARACTER Petit, 5'5" and 114lbs. She is rather fair skinned with relatively soft facial features (compared to her parents) and curiously blue-green eyes. Her hair is a light shade of caramel brown and is naturally wavy, an asset she's rather proud of. [ ref ]

After a decently good haul out in the field, Grant decides to head back out on a search for those goofy little umbrellas that the apartments have taken up as currency. After all, he still has plenty of energy left for the day and it keeps him from staying cooped up in his apartment.
It looks like he's not alone here, at least, and there was still some time in the day to search for goodies.

It would seem as though it was time for another quest, Umbrella stuck close to Durza as he walked to the others. Perhaps this raccoon was well trained. That or it thought Durza was safer than sticking about alone. Durza walked and the raccoon weaved between his legs as he did, somehow not tripping him up.

“Okay so looks like everyone is here.” Lorena did a head count, five, all was in order. “So,” she wasn’t usually a leader, but couldn’t be hard to stick together and find some umbrellas right? “Let’s find some umbrellas. I think sticking together is our best option here.” She scratched the back of her head. “So, this way.” Opening up one of the doors, Lorena peeked in and sotted an umbrella! She went over and grabbed it, returning to the group proudly.
“Here’s one!” One for the team too! She’d thought they would have been harder to find, if it was going to be easy she’d have this in the bag in no time.

Fantasia gave the raccoon a long, long look, and then made sure to stay the hell away from it. Only a matter of time before it got them all rabies or ate someone's food.
Sticking particularly close to Beefy Grandpa, she tried to pry around a few nooks and crannies, but no umbrella could be found. She was trying, really, but Fantasia looked more like she was sulking, unfortunately.
"M'not good at any've this," she mumbled.

The redhead hummed and opened up a door, looking in. He pulls out a small blue umbrella. "Are they really this easy?" he asked as he spun the umbrella in his hand and gave a glance to his raccoon. Umbrella reached up for the small umbrella, inspecting it and turning it every which way in his little paws, kept quite occupied by it, actually. The cute little animal then handed it back to Durza and he tied it onto his belt along with his own unique blue umbrella. The raccoon then ran off in search of an umbrella hiding place.

Try as he might, Grant comes up empty-handed. Maybe his eyes weren't as good as they used to be, but he couldn't spy any little bright umbrellas among the junk. It's funny, he used to get these all the time whenever he got Thai iced tea at the restaurant down the street, who knew they'd become something useful like this?

Thanks to Umbrella's help, Durza was able to pull off a very quick search of several locations at once. The two managed to gather up two more umbrellas, both transparent but for the actual umbrella rigging. They then stuck around with the others.

Mel followed Lorena's lead, though she hung back a bit. It'd been a busy day, and she could honestly live with going home empty-handed. She just sort of wanted out of Clearview for a little bit, so she stayed in the back. Still, she got lucky and passed by a cabinet that had a small umbrella waiting right inside. She gingerly picked it up and went about the search casually.

It looked like the others were doing good at finding umbrellas. Lorena kept looking; she opened another door to another door and stepped inside. She pulled drawers open, looking under furniture, opened closets, moved things around… And yet found nothing. Sighing softly, Lorena wondered how someone could go without an umbrella. She left the room and closed the door behind her.

Her nose might not have been for the umbrellas at first, but eventually Fantasia managed to find herself three more over the course of the next few hours. Damn, these were hidden pretty good...But she felt better after her successes and looked a few degrees less aloof as she tagged along with the group, clutching her prizes like a child with candy. It was the closest thing to acceptance she could find here: via currency.

Whoever lived next door certainly had been predicting bad weather! AS Lorena entered the next room she found three umbrellas in one of the closets! Picking them up, she recounted them and left the room grinning. She had four umbrellas in total so perhaps now it was time to hand these in. Plus, it looked like everyone else was just about done finding everything too. She’d stick around for a bit more until they were all done but then she left to go and hand them in.

The remainder of the search garnered her just one more umbrella, but she took it gratefully. Honestly, it was dark and a little unsafe to go creeping around in the smallest corners of each and every room, so she figured it'd be a good idea to take what she could get.
"Got just one more," she said with a smile as she approached Fanta. She and the others seemed to have found the jackpots, which sort of made her jealous, but hey. More was better, regardless of who was responsible for the find. "We got a good bunch, though, huh?"
