Elysha's gaze swung left then right before she paused thoughtfully while trying to recall if it was at this street or the next that the sushi place could be at. Or perhaps it was at the street before this one that she should have made a right at. But then there was also the possibility that she had walked too far forward from the university boundaries she had come from and to get back on track should make a left at one of the roads she was considering. Or wait, there's also the very likely possibility that something was very wrong with her logic right now.

Her gaze swung again to the left and again she paused in thought to consider if the sites in this direction were more familiar and seemed to connect to the route she took getting to the university to begin with. She really wanted to find that sushi restaurant and satisfy her craving for the oriental cuisine.

Yet she could not help the sigh that she blew out in exasperation at her indecision at this time. Well, at least she only needed to walk straight in reverse to get back to the university. There were a notable amount of students passing by if the DCU shirts and caps that seemed to be popularly worn by those walking on this same road she was presently traveling was any indication. Perhaps they rented apartments in this vicinity. But to be more precise, she was not at present traveling but rather just standing around being at a loss of how to next proceed. And in decidedly changing this, she retraced her steps toward the university again, continuing to look around for maybe a sign that could help point her in the right direction or jog a more accurate memory of which road she should veer into.

But, bah, mentally she threw up her hands in internal exclamation as her vision zeroed in on another person passing by. A snap decision from her was made as she took a deep breath nervously and chanced her query. "Uh um, hello, I would to please ask if you may know and point me in the direction of a sushi place around this area? I, um, saw it on the way to DCU and am admittedly lost and not sure if I am heading the right way and should choose one of these roads. I guess I'm afraid I'll get even more lost from here and lose sight of DCU if I keep experimenting with my sense of direction while being new to this part of the city," she sheepishly smiled and spoke, then transition to a patiently mortified wait for a reply to the awkward ramble of hers she'd ended with fumbling abruptness.

Today was one of her short days, and she was totally pumped to have most of the day free! Not that she had any solid plans actually... planned. But no homework (she finished that already) and no more classes until tomorrow. Which meant today should be a very good, relaxing day. A friendly smile was pasted on her face as she swung her bag over her shoulder and started walking in the general direction of home. She waved at any familiar faces she saw from her classes, but didn't stop to chat. They all seemed to be in a hurry or busy anyways.

Just starting to debate with herself on going to visit Magiore or Durumi (or even both~), someone she'd never met before stopped her, a question being tossed her way.

"A sushi place?" Kodi blinked at the girl, a slight furrow of her brows forming. Then her face lit up. "Oh! You mean that new hip place... uhh... " Oh crap, what was the name of it again? She couldn't remember it. "There is one just a few blocks from here! I've totally been meaning to check it out. Sushi is one of my faaavorite foods!" She didn't have anything planned today either so... "I'd be happy to show you where it is. I was gonna hunt down some lunch anyways."

Okay so maybe she had just invited herself to come. The least she could do was introduce herself, right? "I'm Kodi, by the way. And don't worry. Once you start getting familiar with the buildings you'll be able to find your way around with ease." Or that's what everyone told her. She still got lost every now and then if she wasn't watching where she was going. "I've heard a lot of good things about this place. Someone even said they had these little sushi boats that floated around and you could take plates off them!" Kodi laughed. "I don't know if that's true or not but still sounds like a fun place."

Taking a breath she glanced at the other girl. "You studying at DCU too?" Maybe they had classes together? Or similar interests?

Kodi's friendly reply helped some of her insecure feelings fade. Gratefully, Elysha smilingly gave her own reply. "T-thank you so much, Kodi," then following a tiny breath of relief, she went on, "My name is Elysha." She said as well with a small happy chuckle, "I love sushi, too, but I honestly find it difficult to eat anything spicy so I am inclined to go for the ones that aren't."

Very upbeat and vibrant, Elysha found the atmosphere about Kodi admirable and contagious. Elysha beamed in awe as she listened to Kodi talk about the new sushi place somewhere around here. "It does sound fun and I'm curious about those sushi boats, too. I admittedly though don't know the names very well of the kinds of sushi from memory," she responded with the pattern of the animated conversation that began between them, "but I know I like and often pick ones that have cream cheese. I think part of why I'm fond of sushi is how they have interesting and delicious mixes of ingredients like salmon, cucumber, and more that are in bite sized pieces."

Her gaze looked around at the buildings surrounding them as Kodi's shared reassurance of becoming more familiar of the area over time ran through her mind again in that moment. Then her gaze returned to Kodi as she gave her answer in turn to the second query she was given, "This is my second time looking around DCU. I'm considering the possibility of cross enrollment here along with my online university's program. And, how do you like DCU, Kodi? Um, are you also new to Destiny City or a Destiny City local?"

Likewise, it's alright, Kyrie! <3

Kodi grinned hugely. It was always nice to find someone nice to talk with. And the fact she was able to help her out too was a bonus. "Elysha. It's nice to meet you! And I know, right? Sushi is sooo good! I have to admit I'm a little more adventurous in what I'll eat. Spicy. Not spicy. Sweet. Sour." She just liked food. It was a wonder why she didn't go to school to be a cook or something.

"Don't they sound so cool?" She beamed, looking around them before nodding towards the street corner across from them. "We'll have to cross here and head down along those shops." She pointed and then waited for Elysha to follow before she continued talking. "Oh gosh, yes! The ones with cream cheese are delicious. I really like the ones that have cream cheese, avocado, cucumber, and lots of crab. They have a regular and a spicy version that are sooo good!"

"I completely agree, too. The mixes that they come up with in a bite sized package are awesome. I think that's why I like sushi so much. Because of the variety." Glancing at the businesses they were passing, she was pretty sure that the sushi place was just around the next corner. "Really?" She looked back over at Elysha. "I can't say anything bad about DCU. The campus is nice and most of the people are too. I really enjoy it. And I'm a local." She grinned. "Ah there! Yin's Sushi House."

"It's nice to meet you, too, Kodi!" Elysha was cheerfully sporting a grin as well. She was having a lot of fun with Kodi and was delighting in their chat on their way to the sushi restaurant. "Admittedly I find it hard to eat spicy food because I get a runny nose and also teary-eyed sometimes. And so I prefer to order regular or mostly regular meals rather than opting for spicy versions, though from time to time I like to try a taste of something if I can handle how spicy it is." She chuckled then went on to say, "I guess another reason I like sushi is that there may be the option of just trying one piece if there is an opportunity to assemble a sushi plate piece by piece like in some buffets."

"Oooo," she then went on to reply again while being mindful to pace her strides similarly to Kodi's, "Yum! I'll look to order the regular version!"

Elysha also was multi-tasking at taking in her surroundings while they were walking and chatting, "I'm glad to hear you are having a good experience at DCU! I also am so thankful for my nice experiences visiting DCU when I even only have so few so far."

Then her gaze moved to the establishment Kodi referred to. "Yin's Sushi House," she repeated softly in awe. "I'm looking forward to my first meal here yay!" She turned smilingly to Kodi next as she continued and asked, "Destiny City is an amazing place with amazing people. I'm new here and came to Destiny City after two years of studying in the Caribbean."

Kodi laughed, completely understanding the runny nose and teary-eyed feeling. "I think that's why I like adding a bit of spice to some of my meals." She thought aloud, smiling at Elysha. "Or I just like to torture my taste buds. One of the other!" She was liking talking with Elysha. She seemed much more relaxed now too. Which made Kodi happy. "Oh yes! I love that aspect of some sushi places. It lets you try so many different things at the same time too."

Nodding with enthusiasm, Kodi continued. "There's also this one that has tuna instead of crab. Same roll pretty much otherwise. And not too long ago, I tried this one that... I can't remember what was in it, but it had this sweet eel sauce glaze drizzled over the top." She sighed. "It was so delicious."

Glancing over Kodi offered her new friend a smile. "I was a little intimidated at first, because the whole 'college' thing and having to pretend to be an adult. But everyone I've met at DCU has been pretty awesome. What would you study while here?" She asked curiously.

"Two please!" Kodi said brightly to the hostess before giving Elysha an awed look. "The Caribbean? Really?! Oh wow, what was that like? I've never really been outside of Destiny City before." She admitted as the hostess offered the two of them a nice little table surrounded by other college students and people happily chattering and eating sushi. And there were the little sushi boats, floating lazily along a track that all the tables were attached along. People were just snatching plates off the boats as they came along when something looked good.

"Oh my God, this place is awesome!"

Upon her realization that she too had similar experiences but with a different twist, Elysha grinned as she listened to Kodi's responses. Perhaps Kodi's experiences when speaking about torturing her taste buds are somewhat like the occasions over the course of her school years consisting of filling her plate with back to back extracurricular activities that were at one point collectively identified by a friendly aunt-like figure to Elysha growing up as depicting her being a sucker for trouble.

"Oh wow that sounds soooo delicious," Elysha reacted dreamily in turn as her imagination taunted her with possibilities that were as of yet unavailable given that she was at present still in the stage of commuting despite how close it was to the completion of the process. "I think I'll have a hard time deciding what to order to eat exactly after all," she added with a cheery chuckle.

Elysha smiled to her new friend in kind, very happy to be sharing this meeting with Kodi indeed. "I'm really glad to hear you're having a great time at DCU, Kodi," Elysha beamed in reply before going on to say, "Um, I am considering whether to look into taking medical coding, clinical Spanish, or a program such as for medical assistant training that may give me more healthcare experience."

She then gave the hostess a grateful smile to join in Kodi's request for their seats and a thank you as well when they were seated. "I learned a lot while studying abroad that is in addition to my studies at campus. It was my first time being away from home since for undergrad I commuted from home instead of stayed in alternative living arrangements like a dorm or apartment. City life is faster with set bus times every interval of minutes usually with little delay for example, but island life in the Caribbean is less so since in a contrasting example I have stood waiting and hoping for buses to pass stops I'm at for as much as an hour or more even. The long waits in line and such have surely taught me to carry around course material to go over."

Her eyes took in a lot of fascinating sights in her peripheral vision as she focused a bit more on where she'd been walking and so on in the restaurant, but her gaze also did travel to the sushi boats in amazement before she continued to speak. "Island life definitely has it charms though, such as beautiful beaches and a ready atmosphere of cheer and celebration of life. But Destiny City has many charms of its own I am certainly finding as well. And this place is totally one of them, I agree!"

She periodically shifted her gaze between the sushi boats and Kodi, having curiosity for a varying assortment reasons. She had yet to feel closer to an idea of which of the selection of sushi she'd like to snag for lunch, but had no doubt she'll figure an answer out in no time at all from this point. And she was having a blast getting to know her new friend and adding another memorable Destiny City experience to those she was steadily gathering. "What are some of your favorite places here in Destiny City, Kodi?"
