Isonet could hear his Mother's shrill nagging once she found out he wasn't with Ottis or the youth's ever watchful Father. As much as the aspect of her wrath scared him, the thrill of finally seeing beyond his walls overwrote that fear. He fixed his hat, steeled his nerves then went to take a step. Only to jump back as a wagon rattled past him. He laughed nervously as he realized just how he lost Ottis. The two youths had joined Ottis' Father on a market trip with a few other servants. Isonet felt sorry that he left them like that...but this was a shot at freedom right?

He could get away from everything.

From her.

He rubbed at his elbow remembering how she was that morning. Grabbed his arm roughly when he ran past her. He didn't know she was walking there, he apologized like the good boy he was and she let him go. Not without a few swats to remind him where he stood in her house.

Weren't Mothers suppose to be nicer?

He didn't know but in his mind he sorta doubted it. Shaking his head he looked at the gates just across this busy road. He seemed lost at what to do until he felt the presence of a large...thing. He looked up to the rough looking male. Orderite...Oh!! An adventurer!! Isonet smiled brightly up at him. The male smiled back before easily lifting the child to his shoulder without a word. Isonet giggled as he saw just how busy the market was. Oh he felt that thrill again, eyes wide and bright. The male made the trek across look effortless, his dark pink hair was tied back. Pale rose skin was sun kissed and glowing as he stopped at the gates. Waving up to a guard, who saw a Father and Son duo. He walked out of the City with little care or worry. He set Isonet down and kneeling spoke.

"If you want to find your own path, try looking to the woods. See ya around Iso..." the male said ruffling the child's hair with the little one's own hat. Isonet giggled then blinked. Wait...

"How did...you know...my name?" he looked up and saw no one there. Where? He looked around and felt his shoulders sag. Hositing his bag on his shoulder he looked to the woods. "Alright. Time to explore. If it gets scary I can run home and ask the guard to fetch Mo---No. Not Mother. Ottis' Father. If I can only remember his name...oh well!"

He walked away towards the woods. A few hours trek brought him to the edge, in the middle of nowhere. He spotted a cottage. Awesome! Maybe the person there was a rugged Adventurer!! They could teach him lots of things...with a excited little trot he dashed towards the home...

After dealing with the Ysali dragons that were skulking around the area, and on the property that he'd bought, Aiolos was going about a rather boring task. At least the sort of task that would appear as boring to most but Aiolos himself was actually in a rather good mood as he went about dragging anything and everything out of the house, all of it getting tossed into one of two piles. One pile was stuff that was salvageable, the other pile was things that he just meant to burn because they were of no use to him when it came to rebuilding the place. The pile of useful things far out weighed the pile of things that he was going to get rid of, mostly because Aiolos was an industrious man who meant to use everything he could because the more he was able to reuse the less he'd need to consider purchasing.

The green haired Orderite was currently heading out of his place, dragging out the bed frame out through the open door way piece by piece and into the 'salvage' pile. He felt that, with a bit of effort, that the frame was something that could be reused. He would need to get some wood out of the forest to replace some parts of the frame but he'd have a nice bed soon enough. He couldn't wait! He knew that it was going to take a lot of work to get his house into livable condition but he didn't mind putting in the time and effort that it would require.

He was just turning to head back into the cabin for the next load when he seemed to realize that he wasn't alone. Turning slowly he found himself starring at a rather colorful boy, something that had him going stock still. After a moment he tilted his head to one side, looking curious, before he called out, "Ahh... can I help you?" This was the first time that he'd had company out here and, while he'd only been here a couple days, it was a big change of pace. Who was the kid? What did he need? Was he lost? He supposed that his work could wait a moment while he figured things out with the kid, figure out if he was alright, and once everything was sorted out he could resume work.

Isonet smiled at the other, obviously older male. He blinked a bit. Ah. Logic kicked in here. What does he say? Well...no real good lie came to mind so...the truth. "Hi! My name's Isonet Decanther. I'm trying to run away from my Mother, Lady Decanther in order to follow my dream of becoming an adventurer!"

He smiled brightly. "Nice to meet you!"

He was always told to be honest if no realistic lie instantly came to him. Probably not the best advice, but Isonet was a horrible liar so it worked to give the child the blunt honesty he was known for. He stood there smiling brightly, hands clasped to the front strap of his bag. The thought that perhaps this male didn't want to bother with a child never entered his mind. Nor did the thought that maybe this male could harbor a fetish or something...

All in all. The kid's chances of surviving on his own were pretty slim from a logical outsiders perspective.

Aiolos found himself just starring, eyes slightly wide, mouth a little agape, as the boy before him declared that he was running away to become an adventurer. That was probably the very last thing that he head expected to hear from the young man, though it wasn't even the most shocking. That would probably be the named that he used for his mother 'Lady Decanther'. Anyone who went by the title of 'lady' was so beyond Aiolos's keen that he couldn't even fathom that he was in the presence of a the child of a 'lady'. After a moment he shook his head, trying to clear his mind so that he could think straight again.

Was it a good think to leave the boy to his adventures? Aiolos had survived on his own at the boy's age but it wasn't his choice, it was something that was forced upon him. Should he try to keep an eye on him? Should he bring him back home to his Lady Mother? Aiolos couldn't really say one way or the other though, not wanting to interfere with the boy's decision but at the same time didn't want him to wander off into the nest of a hungry dragon either. Alright, where to start? Most likely the polite thing to do would be to introduce himself right? Giving Isonet a smile he said, "It's nice to meet you, Isonet, my name is Aiolos Vasant, though Aiolos or Aio is fine as well." Alright, the niceites were out of the way, not what to do with the kid that had wandered this far out and onto his property?

"So... your life of adventure... what is the next step toward that?" He asked, turning away from his place for a moment, his green tipped winged giving a little flutter as he awaited Isonet's answer. If he knew what the kid was up to then maybe he could offer him some suggestions to keep him from getting eaten?

Isonet paused. He...honestly had no idea. The child looked back towards the City before feeling his knees go weak. With a soft cry he fell to his rear end. Sitting there looking for all the world, lost. He looked back to the elder.

"I...honestly have no idea. I've heard so many stories of so many different paths. I never thought of the end of the chapter. Just the first page..." he spoke softly all energy seemingly left him.

He always thought of one word when he heard the word "Adventurer" that word was: Freedom. It was the only thing he knew he'd have to grab on his own. His mother wouldn't of given it to him. He inhaled softly. "All I wanted was freedom."

Aiolos gave a thoughtful sound in his throat, a bit worried now. The boy didn't have any idea about what he was going to do be doing now that he'd come out this far? Giving a slight shake of his head he said, "Well, feel free to hang out around here if you like? I cleared out the Ysali that were skulking about so it should be safe enough." He wasn't sure what he thought about leaving the kid to his own devices, a bit worried that he was going to get lost, hurt, or killed if he wandered off on his own without even a plan.

Giving a humming sound he asked, "Have you at least obtained a weapon of your own? Something to defend yourself if you run into a dangerous person or animal? I hear that things are getting worse out there and I would hate for someone or something to catch you off guard." He found himself torn now, should he continue with the house or look after the boy? He'd been alone when he was Isonet's age, needed to take care of himself, and he knew how hard it was to do that. If Isonet had run away then he would be in the same situation that Aiolos had been in when he was that age.

"If you want advice, if you don't a weapon yet then make that what happens on your 'page two', alright?"

A weapon? Well he hadn't really thought about that. He sat there before standing. Finding that his legs were calm enough to allow him that gift. He walked somewhat closer to the male finding a small shred of comfort from the elders kindness. "I...I don't know how to fight. So, I'm not sure what weapon would be best for me. Aiolos. Can you help me?"

His voice had actually gotten softer the more he spoke. The child unsure and a little afraid. If the elder didn't want to be bothered by him he would turn around to return home. If Aiolos didn't mind, he'd help as much as he could. He knew how to do little things at least. Ottis and his Father were good about that. Isonet was taught the basics of simple work and foraging. Well, what they could from the servant's gardens back at the estate. He looked down at his feet. His boots kicking around the dirt and grass.
PostPosted: Fri Sep 04, 2015 5:14 pm

"If you're wanting to adventure then learning to fight is something that you really need to do. Otherwise you need to find someone or something else to help you, perhaps a friend who can fight alongside you?" He suggested to the boy as Isonet approached him. As the boy mentioned not being sure what weapon would be best for him, even going as far as to ask if he could help him, he gave a thoughtful sound in his throat, "I... perhaps? I can show you my weapon if you like, see if that is something you find interest in? If that isn't your sort of weapon I know some blacksmiths that might be of more help then I am?"

Aiolos looked him over, considering for a moment, then reached a hand out slowly to pat the boy on the head, "I... want to offer what help I can, though I am used to being on my own. I hope you can forgive that." He said, turning on his heel, and started toward the three stairs that lead up onto the porch, stairs that he had fixed first given they were crooked when he'd first moved in. Sitting on the porch, leaned against the wall next to the open doorway, was the mace that Aiolos wielded in battle.

Reaching to pick it up the large, silver colored weapon, he turned to hold it out to Isonet, letting him to see it, "It's a heavy weapon, good for bashing things. Is this the sort of thing that might be useful to you?"

Isonet walked closer as he watched the other male. Sorta like a puppy. As the younger tilted his head in curiosity he let out a soft sound of awe at the sight of the massive weapon. He heard about Orderites who got theirs, when he asked his mother what weapon he was getting. She merely told him a young lord had no need for that sort of thing. Isonet liked the looks of the mace, but not the aspect of having to bash something.

"I like the general style of it. Maybe not the weight aspect but I suppose with the right training I could gain strength. I'd have to brainstorm on what it would look like though." he said as he thought to himself. Something he knew he would cherish would be his weapon. It would take some thought and time.
PostPosted: Mon Sep 07, 2015 7:42 am

Aiolos gave a thoughtful sound then said, "A sword then, perhaps? They are of a lighter weight then a mace is, easier to swing around for a more extended period of time?" After a moment he added, "Though that doesn't mean it will be easier or anything, you will still need to practice a lot to build up the stamina to wield the sword. Tiring easily is a dangerous thing when one is fighting with dragons." Something that he knew from personal experience as he'd nearly gotten run down by some dragons in the past and the blessings of Seren alone saved him that day.

After setting the mace back down near the door, within arms reach in case he needed it, Aiolos turned back Isonet, "There are other weapons out there as well though, some ranged and some magical, don't limit yourself. You need the weapon that best suits you since it's what you're going to be carrying around for some time. You need to have something you can rely on." A good weapon meant the difference between life and death out here, though he didn't want to say that, not to someone so young as Isonet. It was something that the boy either already knew or would learn with time.

"Until you get a weapon, even if it's a sharpened stick, I wouldn't suggest going too deep in the woods around here. There are a lot of Ysali dragons in this area and I don't them picking on you." He told Isonet, giving him a nod before he found himself wondering if he should return to his work... or should he help the boy further? He couldn't quite say, which told Aiolos he'd been out here on his own for far too long.

Isonet felt like the male was a little busy to be dealing with a impudent child. Nodding he gave a little half bow. "Thanks for the advice, Aiolos. I'll find something before going on..."

He felt fear sorta worm its way up his spine. Settling in his gut the child looked sorta fearful at the woods. Could he really go alone? He'd never been alone in his life...what was he going to do? He wasn't going to let this scare him back to her skirts. Or...rather her shadow. He knew if he returned home. He'd be locked up and tossed to the darkest rooms of his mother's estate. He didn't like that at all. So. He steeled his nerves and smiled again. "Right..."

Funny how his legs didn't want to move.

SwordOfTheDarkOnes

Aiolos gave a slow nod, watching as Isonet gave him a bow before talking about how he would find something before going on. That was a good thing, it meant that the boy was listening and would seek out a weapon to help protect himself with, "Good, one shouldn't go around without a means of protecting themselves. There is far too much going in the world, especially these days, and it's far too dangerous to just roam about unarmed." As much as he wished that he could say otherwise he knew that he would be lying. Best that he told the boy the truth so that he would be able to prepare himself for the savagery of the world. He hoped that one day, by Seren's grace, that things would get better, safer, and allow for those growing up in the world to do so safely.

Turning the big, green warrior started toward his house a couple steps, and once at the door he realized that the boy wasn't really going anywhere. He gave him a long look, a thoughtful expression appearing on his lips, before he said, "I... guess, if you don't mind either waiting or helping, I can bring you to meet with a couple blacksmiths I know to look at weapons." He supposed that he could at least offer the help to the boy, though he wasn't sure if he would want Aiolos's help. The boy was from a noble family after all whereas Aiolos didn't have a family at all, or even a house until recently, putting them on very different levels. He didn't want to leave the boy alone though, not when he could offer Isonet some help, and especially when he looked so lost.

It was as if Aiolos had just told Isonet his hair was a pretty shade of pink. The boy blushed for some odd reason before bouncing forward a little. "I wanna help! I like doing things with others."

He really did like to help. For all his mother tried to beat down that aspect of himself the child had it strong either way. He smiled before looking at the two piles. "Sooo...these two piles are. Salvageable and Junk?"

He had seen something similar when the servants had to clear out the store rooms. He liked the task in itself, some of the servants would explain how to reuse objects while showing him what was broke on the other ones.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 10, 2015 7:10 pm

Aiolos gave a slow nod of his head, "Alright, we will finish with a bit more cleaning then before we go to visit with the blacksmiths." It seemed as though the boy wanted to help him out, something that would aid Aiolos with getting ahead with the many chores that he had to do. Once that was done they would see about getting the younger Orderite a weapon. He knew it wasn't his place, he wasn't the boy's family after all, but he would see to it nevertheless since those who were his family had allowed him to slip away in such a manner. It was a way to take care of the little one in his own way.

Looking between the two pile Aiolos gave a nod, "Yeah, I am trying to go through the piles and figure out what I can still use and what is too broken to be useful. The more I can salvage the better." It meant he had to spend less money on what the house needed... but he didn't want to say that out loud, not wanting to make it seem as though he was that broke. It wasn't one of those things that Aiolos wanted to let just anyone know about after all. He took care of himself and didn't want any sort of pity. Walking back toward the house, his green tipped wings giving a flap, before they faded away into their tattoo form on his back.

"We will do a bit more cleaning up inside, it's not a big place, and shouldn't take much longer to get fixed up." After that would be even more work, all the rebuilding work, but that would wait until after he saw to Isonet.

Once the two young Oderities were done with majority of the cleaning inside. Isonet learning more and more as things were explained when he asked. Afterwards the child bounced on his heels as he waited for Aiolos to lead the way. He smiled brightly and full of sunshine. nothing seemed to bother him...

"Aiolos...are you alone in that house?" he tilted his head as they walked.
