Elysha halted the engine of her dark red car and tapped fondly on the steering wheel before then proceeding to check that she was bringing with her everything she intended to bring prior to leaving the parking lot. So, this was Destiny City University, at least if she checked the map correctly and followed the directions as she should have, then she was at the right place. With a mental shake of her head, she endeavored to dismiss the jab of insecurity that accompanied the feeling she supposed was to be likened with butterflies fluttering in her tummy. She looked around as she walked, reminding herself to focus on being attentive during this first visit of hers to this campus to accomplish the goal she set out to see and evaluate as a possibility or at least a worthwhile try and perhaps figure out the next steps of her hunt from there. But it did not take long before she realized it would probably be best not to search for the most part blindly on her own if she wanted to be as efficient as she could manage to be today potentially. She did not know how big this campus was together with the feeling of newness and unfamiliarity she was experiencing. It would likely be helpful and less time-consuming for her if she asked for directions somewhere from someone more familiar with this campus than she was instead of persistently trying to look at each building's contents. And probably anyone would fit that description, she thought. Yet nervousness still emerged to the surface of her mind's considerations at the thought of the option. Come on now, it is alright, okay, fine to ask someone about whether or not there is such a location as a public resource center here, she went on to work on convincing herself not to shy away from the idea of asking for some assistance. A part of her insecurity attempted to bite at her again as she started to find questions crossing her mind of whether or not she really looked into this plan of action adequately enough in advance before driving out here in the first place. And again she mentally stomped at her frustrating thoughts and blew out a breath slowly to re-focus. And thus, at the sight of someone walking by, Elysha moved to fall into step with that individual. And she voiced her question in a rambling jumble as her harsh mind classified it. Her words were delivered with a small smile and wave reflecting her state of hesitance and awkwardness initially in greeting beforehand, "Um, excuse me, hello, it is my first time visiting this campus and I have a question about searching for a place. Well, um, I am looking for resources about supporting or helping initiate a cause for helping animals, including those abandoned for example. May I please ask if you might possibly be able to point me in the direction of a resource center open to the public, if there is one here at DCU?" Sleet Tempest Snape Eep @u@; Methinks I'm as nervous as Elysha about my first day RPing at ItNotM ahaha

He wasn't taking any summer courses, lucky for him, but Ian was still on campus having just signed up for his fall classes and making sure he was set up with his grants and scholarships in order to cover the payment of his classes - no way could he afford them on his own. Racking his fingers through his hair, pushing the fringe of dark hair from his face, he stepped out of the guidance department and headed down the hall and made a left. The guidance department was in the same building as the library, cafeteria, a small auditorium used for guest speakers (such as when two or more classes would combine for discussion/lecture), and also there was the school book store which was where he was headed. he had a list of books he needed and he figured it best to get them now rather than wait. If he waited till the last week, or even after semester started, the lines would be super long and out of the building.
What he wasn't expecting was that while heading for the book store, he should really get a new school bag, was someone to start walking at his side. He'd expected them to walk past him but not to keep pace with him. So he slowed his step, thinking it polite to do so, and then came the question about a resource center. Stopping he paused for a moment to think on it. Turning to face her he took note of dark hair and red eyes. She wasn't a face he recognized but he supposed the university was big and had a load of students so it wasn't a surprise really. She also could be new, she seemed new even.
"I don't know if we have anything supporting that, at the moment, but you can always check the schools social media sit and ask. It'll go out for everyone enrolled here to see and respond to." Glancing about he let his eyes pause on the doors to the library before nodding that way. "We can go check it out on one of the school computers and we'll see if there is anything set up already. If not you can post the idea and see if something can't be done about it." Motioning her to follow him, even though he was sure she would, he lead the way toward the automatic doors of the library. He'd pick up his books once he'd helped her out.

As she listened to the start of his response and then watched him look around, Elysha worried that perhaps she might be keeping him from making it to an appointment on time or something of the sort when she did not consider this before approaching him with her query. With this in mind now, she had begun preparing to apologize to him if this was the case so he could head to where he was going. And thus, when he nodded and began walking in the direction he continued to reply in saying they could check, she felt rather surprised and so in the meantime had only managed to reply with one spoken word as she continued to follow him, "O-okay." As they walked her thoughts began catching up to processing and comprehending the current information she had been given. She was currently working but studying part-time as an online university student continuing from having concurrently enrolled in her online program the same time she had started her basic sciences program. Now that basic sciences was over and she moved to Destiny City, she had a few more semesters of her online program left. She heard an unverified rumor that perhaps her online university is connected with DCU either as an affiliate or by extension but if this is not true, then is DCU's social media site open to her if she is not a DCU student? For the moment, she re-focused more of her attention on following her guide and perhaps later she may find herself reevaluating this latest question to cross her mind in terms of what degree is its necessity.

As the library doors slid open, with a woosh, he stepped in and was glad to find the library was being kept even cooler than the rest of the building. it was enough that if you stayed long you might need a light sweater or hoodie. It was too bad that he didn't have a hoodie on him right now, he just had a tight t-shirt and a pair of skinny jeans that hung low on his hips.
Making his way to the reference counter, he had to sign in with his student ID card to use the computers, he did just that as he let them scan his ID card. "Ok, so lets get logged into the schools site and see if we can't find what you want." Beyond the reference desk was a media lab, filled with computers and very few people. He was glad to see the lack of people, he really wasn't a fan of being in large groups of people; it was a wonder how he held up in classes sometimes. "Pick a computer."

DCU was definitely impressing her today. As odd as it may be, Elysha was glad she opted to visit the campus dressed in her business attire despite it being her day off from work since she welcomed its orderliness in contrast to the puzzling internal state of mind at present. With her mind still feeling like a big, messy jumble right now, she managed though to smile thankfully and nod before moving to stand in front of the nearest available computer at a side angle so they could both share it if that was what his plan turned out to be. And then she thought now was a good time to mention to him about her predicament as a student, "Um, I am an online university student but not of DCU, is it alright for me as only part of the public to come here looking for resources?"

Seating himself he motioned her to sit at his side. "Hmm...not normally but since I'm sitting here doing the work they won't say anything. Plus if you tell them you are going to be enrolling but are looking up the process and programs offered here you should be alright." At least right here and now anyway.
"Now you wanted to know what exactly? I did forget." He said with a sheepish look as he turned his green eyes onto her. He felt bad forgetting but it was an odd question and not something normal that he'd expect so it had slipped his mind and rather quickly at that.

In response, Elysha nodded slowly as she received and processed his words and took a seat beside him. Worry flashed through her mind again, this time about how she might get him reprimanded by staff. And so she resolved to do her best to stay calm so as not to draw unnecessary attention to herself from any of the building's overseers that may be around and supervising for rule-breaking like using the computers without permission to do so. After all, she was open to look at information about transferring so it would be more of a white lie of sorts than a complete lie. And now that she was aware that this wasn't normally permitted, she would keep this new knowledge in mind so as to aim with more awareness at avoiding unknowingly recreating this risk. Her eyes moved to the computer screen then to back to him and then spoke her reply with a timid smile, hoping the worry wasn't suspiciously evident in her expression or bearing to anyone aside from herself. "Um, I am wondering if there is a cause in Destiny City geared towards advocating and carrying out projects for the assistance of animals in need, such as those abandoned or abused."

"You mean like animal control but something other than a local shelter? Though the local shelter from what I know is no kill?" He asked wanting clarification from the other as he pulled up google to run a quick search. "I know there are animal rescue groups, most cities have them so to think we don't would be odd." But now he had to find them.
"And you want something that you could join or are you looking for any group within the school? Like a club?" he asked looking to her for details and information so he was sure about what he would be searching for. "I don't think there is a student group or club. But I'm sure if you become a student you could put in to start one. You'd likely get a lot of members." He had a feeling it would become popular especially among the females who attended Destiny City University. Ian wasn't too worried about anyone from the school coming by and seeing him, or her, doing anything which they shouldn't be. He was good with a computer and could hide whatever they'd been doing, had it been something the school wouldn't approve of, plus he was well liked by the staff who dealt with the computer lab. they knew he was good with computers and tended to just let him be on most occasions.

Elysha listened carefully to the queries she was offered to clarify her search and then gave her reply in turn, "I was thinking to check if there is a group initiative based here at DCU that extends membership to the public to participate in it. Also, I thought it may be described as along the lines of: individuals joining together in keeping each other informed of happenings in Destiny City dealing with animal aid and members who can collaborate in supporting or hosting such events. For example, the local shelter has a puppy meet and greet planned and some members learn of it. Then, the members can inform the whole group and make plans to see who are able to attend the puppy meet and greet together. Or another possible example would be that the group can agree to ask the local shelter about how they can cooperate in an endeavor to have a rotating schedule of small clusters of members to volunteer at the local shelter." Movement of someone passing by the area they were situated caught Elysha's notice and drew her gaze to the nearby steps for a moment before being followed by her promptly returning her gaze to her guide and then the computer screen. "Perhaps I'll cross-enroll at DCU if possible to attend a medical terminology course here and if there isn't a group like this that I'm in search of, then I could ask around to start one with a group of us who would like to. Um, may I please also ask you for some pointers about starting an initiative like this? I haven't tried before." Then Elysha's eyes widened next at realizing what she forgot, "Oh!" Her voice gasped at a briefly and slightly elevated volume that did not escape her notice. And before she went on she reminded herself to mind her voice. Her previous volume resumed, she introduced herself and asked, "Um, my apologies for my rudeness in only introducing myself now. My name is Elysha. Nice to meet you. And may I ask your name?" With this, she extended her arm to offer her guide a handshake.

Listening to the other speak, and clarify things, as he was honestly clueless about campus initiatives and just what they were (he really wasn't that social a creature) he nodded his head then. "I don't think there is one...but there could be." He said while he started on the search to see if there was any such thing for her. "If not I'm sure once you join the university you can start something up to do just that." He doubted there would be an issue with that, he was sure many would join in fact.
"Flyers and talking to people would be the best way to start. You could use the schools twitter account as well and post something about it to generate attention to the idea. I think you'd have to talk to thee school about starting up such a thing but I'm not sure." He'd have to look that up for her, find out the procedure for such a thing if there even was one. Hmmm...he liked her idea but he also knew that he wouldn't be joining it, too much of a social thing for his taste. "You can cross enroll. You just have to apply, set up your grants and scholarships before talking to someone at the guidance department. I think you first also need the enrollment department in order for them to deal with the other college you're attending." He had some ideas about all of this but not enough. He'd just gone from getting his GED to taking the placement exam and than enrolled and put in for fafsa and taps in order to get his grants. He wasn't cross enrolling or anything so he wasn't sure of the differences since she already had taken a placement exam surely.
"It's ok...I'm Ian..." Staring at her he blinked green eyes at her as he shook her hand, hesitantly and shyly even. "

As they shook hands, Elysha beamed, thankful and glad to now know the name of the considerate individual before her who has kindly extended his assistance to her. "Ian, I'm very grateful to you for helping me today." She watched in curious quiet as he went about an online search and recounted the mental notes she took of his pointers for starting an animal aid group initiative as a DCU student. "It's not a problem." He said even as he continued searching but soon leaned back and shook his head. "I don't seem to be finding anything. I'd guess there isn't such a group on campus." Toying with one of the piercings in his lip he ran his fingers through his hair. Such a group would have made sense but he hadn't thought there was one, had been fairly certain of it but considering his lack of social life he hadn't wanted to just go on an assumption of his.
"I'd say it's best to try and form a group after you become a student on campus. It'll be easy I'm sure. You might even be able to ask one of the guidance counselors when you start picking classes. They typically know about clubs and other things." they got asked it a lot, or so he figured. shyanimegrl Ty, I forgot completely and you just reminded me! ^_^

Elysha gave a nod of understanding as she moved her gaze from the computer screen to Ian and replied, "Okay. You've really saved me today, Ian. My options are much clearer now. I'll definitely consider cross-enrolling here at DCU carefully. My first time here has been a pleasure." Again Elysha's worrying returned and she hoped she hadn't taken up too much of Ian's time as she then gradually moved to stand, "Ian, really thank you so much for taking time out of your day with me here. I'll let you return to your plans now and perhaps we'll bump into each other again sometime. I wish you all the best!" "I'm glad I could help and give you a good opinion of the school." And help her figure out what she needed to do and how she needed to do it. Logging out and closing out of what he'd had opened he let the computer return to a simple wall paper dotted by a few icons. No trace of what he'd done as he removed the cookies as well as was habit for him to do.
Stretching he nodded his head. "Maybe once you become a student here we'll have a class together or classes next to each other." As he some how doubted they'd have any shared classes. It didn't mean they'd not see each other though. "I wish you all the best in enrolling and getting your group together. If you need any help just ask." Grabbing a small piece of paper, they kept small scraps of paper by each computer, and grabbing a pen from his bag he scribbled out his phone number before offering git to her. "Text me and let me know it's you."shyanimegrl I think you can close in one more post.

As she pushed in her chair quietly while they conversed, she gradually shifted away from the chair she had occupied and Elysha lifted a hand in gladly receiving the sheet of paper from Ian. "Okay, I shall," she smiled and waved, "Have a great rest of your day." And after they parted ways, she entered his number in her cell and sent him a text: Hi, this is Elysha, and thank you, Ian, for your help today!Sleet Tempest Snape Our RP is now complete! x D Eeeeeee yay for much fun whooooooo! whee
