Nadja stood once more before her class and looked among them. Each of them were unique in their own way, and like her, had something about their race that made clothing difficult. She smiled as she considered the assignment, having not had much time to put one together.
"Today...I think I will let you design anything you want. The only thing I want you to consider about your outfit is how other races could wear it. As you know, we're all different and have difficulties wearing and finding certain things. Tails, horns, claws, hooves and large amounts of fur really restrict what we can all wear. It's partially why I chose to make all my own clothing when I was old enough!" She smiled and giggled a bit, showing off the dress she was wearing that day. "So class, I want you to have fun, but consider a way to make your outfit easy for everyone!"

Username: VerityHattress Nightmare: Candy Palette: Five Design: RP Response: Make an outfit design with one of the color palettes? That was a no brainer for Candy! She could come up with a wild design that fit her personality in no time! As she went to start drawing though, a thought came to her. How about she challenged herself to make something that wasn't off the charts? Just a simple outfit that someone else could wear. That wouldn't be a problem right? Getting to work on designing the outfit with the last color palette, she decided to go with a more simple theme, a nice looking top shirt, undershirt, skirt, and boots that matched the colors needed. She also decided that stripes would be the best choice for patterns, wanting to experiment a little with them. Starting with the skirt, Candy decided to make it tight fitted to the body and to have it be short, coloring in the base color as the pink she had in her color palette. It already looked nice, but Candy knew it needed a bit more. Taking the tan, darker aqua, and dark gray colors, she started to make large diagonal stripes with the tan and small diagonal stripes with the darker aqua and dark gray across the skirt until it was full. It looked nice to Candy, so that was good enough for the skirt. Next was the two tops, the upper top being made first so she could make the under shirt be more on an add-on to the upper top. Making it have straps that came off the shoulder and one side of the torso longer than the other, she then decided to color it in with the dark green and added a belt below the chest area that used the dark gray for the main part of the belt, and the dark aqua for the pearl shaped jewel on it. Now it was time for the under shirt. At first she had just planned for it to be a small turtle neck tank top with the light aqua color, but after looking it over she decided that there needed to be sleeves that started after the off the shoulder straps of the upper shirt. Using the light aqua color still, she made the under shirt sleeves come to the mid lower arm, also adding two stripes that were where the elbows would be with the darker aqua. As she looked the outfit over, she tried to think of what she could do for the shoes. She hadn't really used much of the tan, and she wanted to use more of the pink and dark gray. Boots! She could make some leather like fabric boots that used the tan color and used the pink and dark gray for embroidering! Starting to draw out the boots to below the knee, she then started to color it in tan and add the last two colors. Candy knew she wanted more stripes, so she decided to add two links of both colors at the rim of the top of the boots along with a pink line of spots above that. The dots contrasted well in her opinion. Next came the bottom of the shoes. She used the dark gray to make the bottom of the shoes, knowing that if this ever became an outfit that having no bottoms to a pair of leather shoes would be bad. The next thing she did was add another embroidering line of the gray right after where the toes would be, adding a dotted line after that to show that it would be sown there. As she looked over her drawing, she became rather proud of it. Sure it was out of the norm for what she usually made, but she had enjoyed going out of her comfort zone a bit to make something knew to her.

Username: VerityHattress Nightmare: Candy Holiday: Winter Carnival Design: References [ X] [ X] [ X]RP Response: Thinking over a design, Candy knew she wanted it be based off the Winter Carnival. Maybe something to do with the cold? As a few ideas for designs popped into her head, she decided to go with a more of a party look, making sure it incorporated snowflakes and sparkles. Who didn't like sparkles with their party dress? Sure it was for the most part simple, but Candy didn't want this dress to be over the top. She had thought of putting a HUGE snowflake on the back that was like those outfits with the feather tails, but decided against it. She felt it would get in the way too much for the formal party look she was going for. Quite proud of how it had come out, Candy was soon turning in her assignment. This project had been nice, but perhaps she could of added a bit more to it if she hadn't of gone with a more formal party look?

Holiday: Winter Carnival Design: The final outfit includes a plain, medium-grey cotton sweater with half-length sleeves, tucked into a black high-waisted circle skirt. The skirt is embellished with very light sparkles that start about 2/3rds of the way down the skirt and become more noticeable as they reach the hem. Around the waist, connecting the sweater to the skirt, is a simple black belt with a somewhat glittery white buckle in the shape of a snowflake, about 2 1/2'' in diameter.
To match the belt, the outfit includes a cerulean blue knitted infinity scarf that can be worn either regularly (loosely around the neck, wrapped twice) or with one half of the scarf pulled up into a hood. The scarf has small white snowflakes (about 1cm in diameter) embroidered in throughout the scarf, which perfectly match the shape of the slightly larger snowflakes that hang from the fringe attached to one edge of the scarf. The fringe itself is the same blue color as the rest of the scarf, and hangs down about 1.5-inches from the edge of the scarf.
Completing the look is a pair of black over-the-knee stockings, and two different pairs of shoes to pick from: A pair of tall, ankle-high lace up wedge boots, or a small pair of black doll heels, which can be worn with an optional pair of blue legwarmers, knitted to match the scarf.
Also made to match the scarf are an equally optional pair of blue armwarmers that stop just shy of the elbow, leaving about two inches of exposed skin/fur.
Also included are a few optional accessories: A long snowflake necklace, a plain black choker, and small snowflake ear studs.
[ Vaguely inspired by this outfit ] RP Response: Fall and winter holidays?
Oh, it was her first assignment, and already Aaminah had it in the bag. At least, she certainly hoped so.
While a handful of her classmates no doubt would go the extravagant route and try and design something particularly fanciful--a party dress right out of a winter wonderland, or something especially spooky to throw back to the now-passed Haunted Hallows theme--Aaminah decided to go the much safer route.
Safer, but also far easier to succeed.
She hoped.
"Something... casual. Something that you could wear at home, or out and about..." The demon mused to herself as she worked, tapping the eraser-end of her pencil against her lips with one hand while her other hand toyed with a few strands of her hair.
Various ideas passed through her mind for hours on end, before finally she seemed to find the look she wanted.
Winter was all about 'cool' colors. Various white, grey, and blue fabric littered the demon's apartment floor as she tried to find the best combination of colors to put down on paper. Some shades were too cool, whereas others were not cool enough. Before long however, the demoness found herself settling on four colors alone: Black, white, medium-grey, and a perfectly wintery blue shade.
What wound up on paper pleased the girl significantly. The black was assigned to the cute, high-waisted circle skirt that stopped just barely far enough down the leg to not require shorts beneath. Down along the lower 1/3rd of the began a gradient of soft, glistening sparkles, almost immitating the look of freshly fallen snow. A pair of over-the-knee black stockings also used the black fabric, which were intended to be worn with a pair of black lace-up ankle boots. Off to the side of her sketch, Aaminah included an alternative pair of shoes in the form of cute black dolly heels with little bows on the edge.
Tucked into the black skirt was a simple, soft grey cotton half-sleeved sweater, which lacked any particular embellishments so as to not take away from the real focus point of the outfit. Around the neck of her sketched mannequin wrapped a vibrant blue knitted infinity scarf that doubled as a hood. The very edges of the scarf were fringed, with each small cluster of yarn strands connecting to a small, sweet snowflake-like tassel to match the equally small snowflakes embroidered into the rest of the scarf. At the center of each snowflake was a small, sparkling crystal-like bead, which allowed the light to twinkle off beautifully. Off to the side of the sketch was another small alternate option, showing the scarf lifted up in the back like a hood for those particularly cold evenings.
Various other optional accessories were flittered about the page--small snowflake dangle earings, a plain black ring, a waist-cinch to go above the waistband of the skirt with another snowflake for a buckle, and some knitted arm warmers to match the scarf for those that didn't have some type of natural insulation from the cold.
Once everything was said and done, Aaminah found herself rather proud of her creation, to the point that she spent the entire night before her assignment was due actually making her creation, which she rather proudly wore to class the next day.
Needless to say, when it came time for Aaminah to turn in her assignment, she did so with an accomplished grin.

Username: Delicate Rose Bud Nightmare: Lydia Holiday: Winter Solstice Design: link RP Response: Lydia was overjoyed when the assignment to create a holiday-themed look was given. She hemmed and hawed about which one she would pick, almost deciding to make two looks, but decided to go with a Winter Solstice look. She set down to sketching and scribbling notes about fabric choices and trimmings for the remainder of class, before sashaying up to the front of class to display her masterpiece idea to the teacher. "This is just the preliminary sketch, but I've come up with a Winter Solstice outfit to wear particularly to the main festival. It features a white dress with a low neckline, thigh length, trimmed with white faux fur along the collar, sleeves, and hem of the a-line skirt. The accent color is a cool-toned grey, which will be implemented as a woven belt, scarf, gloves, and below-the-knee socks. The boots are white, heeled, and also trimmed with white faux fur with a bow addition to the sides. The look is accessorized with crystal snowflake earrings and necklace, and white nails with silver glitter." After showing her the sketch, Lydia returned to her desk, sketching her own outfit for the festival along with a similar ensemble for her daughter, Matilda.

Username: jinxgirl5 Nightmare: MorginnHoliday: Winter Carnival Design: [ design] RP Response: Morginn got extremely excited when he heard the theme of their new homework assignment. It was something he'd been thinking about for quite some time; winter was one of his least favorite seasons simply due to the cold! He flipped open the sketch book he kept with him at all times and flipped through it, glancing at the half-finished sketches for winter outfits. He pulled out a fresh sheet of paper and started a new sketch, one he could turn in without having to tear anything from his book, and started drawing. It was extremely late when he was done, the scent of wood shavings clinging to him; the paper he'd started with barely had any white space left. Around his sketch were various groupings of color palette ideas, varying in shades of blues, silvers, purples, and even a few more robust holiday colors. More little drawings were sketched to one side of the outfit, ideas for designs such as frost or snowflakes or holly, just little things to make the outfit pop. There were notes about materials clustered to the other side. Though the outfit had been designed for maximum warmth, not all races were as vulnerable to cold as the Fey, and lighter materials would probably make the outfit more comfortable to some. The gloves and stockings were entirely optional. The little pocket on the breast of the top was specifically added for Fey; their flowers were hardy, but a good dose of cold could do some serious harm. With a pocket they could cover the flower without completely squishing it. More notes were clustered around the pocket, outlining different shape ideas, button versus zippers, and suggestions on how the pocket might be made to be multifunctional for other races to make use of. Morginn fretted the whole night after he finished the drawing, and stared at it constantly on his way to class. Would the professor like it? Would she think some of the ideas were too impractical? Well, fashion was ever changing and there were always ways to improve. Even as he turned in his assignment, Morginn's mind was already working away at a new outfit.

Nadja beamed as she looked over each assignment as they were turned in. All winter themed, she noted, but each one had it's own charm and use. She was very impressed and made sure to note that on each student's assignment.
"I'm very proud of all of you, and these are all things I'd absolutely love to wear myself! In fact some even give me my own inspiration for a new wardrobe!" She exclaimed. "Well, you've all passed and I'm very proud of you. I hope you can keep up the good work in your next assignment!"Your next assignment should be posted today or tomorrow, I absolutely promise. Keep an eye out.

Username: jinxgirl5 Nightmare: Morginn Design: 01/07/16 Could have sworn I put a link in here > n> Sorry! [ click] RP Response: Morginn tapped a pencil against paper, nibbling on his lower lip as he thought. Light lines were traced all over the little neutral model, going in all sorts of directions. It was difficult to think of clothing that all the races could equally wear, given the variances in body type. Finally he had something he thought was functional. It was a bit plain, just a shirt and pants, but with the right kind of fabric or accessories anyone could turn plain into trendy. He looked at all his notes wreathed around the colored sketch, and added another at the top suggesting a hat or cute hair band, belt and jewelry, and foot covering of the wearer's choice be used to add some personal flair to the outfit as a whole. He also found a clean corner and added a quick little sketch and note about putting buttons on the inside of the sleeves, so that they might be easier to wear down for someone with fluffy arms, rather than trying to fit the whole arm through then roll up fabric. More ideas swirled through the Fey's mind, but he made himself stop before the drawing became muddled. As he turned the sketch and accompanying notes in to Professor Nadja, Morginn felt his fingers itch to take up fabric and thread. This was something he might have to create! He wondered if he could get any of his friends to act as models for him...

Username: Delicate Rose Bud Nightmare: Lydia Design: [ x ] RP Response: Lydia sat down with her notes and her sketchbook, deciding to make a less dressy, more casual look. She read her notes on all of the different racial features, noting witch had wings and horns and extra fur and where. She accommodated her metaphorical model with a stretchy-fabric for the top (to give more for fluffier folk) with hidden snap-buttons on the back for those with wings. She decided on a breezier material for the skirt, which would allow most tails enough room to be. She doodled some accessories, including some bangles that could double as horn/tail ornaments for certain races. Happy with her preliminary sketch, she picked out colors and refined her design, and showed it to her teacher, noting all of the racial accommodations she had added. Pleased with herself and the work she had done, she returned to her seat and doodled some more afterthought designs on the back of the paper.

Username: Midnightglow18 Nightmare: Camrine Holiday: Winter Solstice Design: LinkRP Response: Camrine arrived at the fashion class, she looked at the assignment and then sat down to begin her work. She made notes about everything she was working on. The main piece to her concept was a comfortable sweater easily for customization. Camrine could think of a million ways to customize the sweater for each race. Back wholes for wings, shorter shelves for races with fluffy fur like her kind. Capri pants just because they are adorable and comfortable for races with fluffy legs. It was then that Cam remembered her conversation with Fig, her sweater could easily be made with a whole in the chest for his flower, and wing slits for the back. She then focused back on the pants, customizing the pants with various sized tail wholes, perhaps a elastic whole. So the size it would need less sizes but could fit more races, Nixies, demons, imps, Chimeras, Grimms, Goblins all needed the tail wholes. Then Camrine thought of accessories, scarfs could be worn by just about anyone. Perhaps a light material for the fluffier races. Knit hats were also a good accessory and easy to customize, to head features such as horns, ears, antenna, leaves, etc. Cam also thought of knitted leg warmers, for races that didn't like long pants and couldn't wear socks. Just something fun and comfy. Once Camrine was finished with her paper and notes, she went to take them up to the teacher.
