Lawrence's MansionLawrence's house was passed onto him by his father after his father died. The mansion is well build and fairly new on the inside. Other than having maids and butlers that live in the house, Lawrence lives alone with his bengal cat, Meemo.
In the entrance, there is a large staircase that leads to the second floor. Many rooms and hallways branch off the foyer. On the first floor is a ballroom with some instruments to pass the time on the lefthand side of the house and a library and office on the righthand side. If you continue to move straight from the front foyer you'll find the living room which is connected to the kitchen and dining area. Upstairs are two hallways that branch off into different rooms. The smaller ones are occupied by the household's workers on the left side. On the east side, the only bedroom out of any, that is the master bedroom being used by Lawrence.
Behind the house is a large rosebush maze. In the centre there is a small flower garden. There's a larger garden just outside the maze along with a old fountain Lawrence had managed to get running. There's a large forest behind the house that Lawrence enjoys going inside to hunt or relax. The forest stops at river but Lawrence doesn't dare go near it. The backyard has a large pool as well but Lawrence doesn't use it, keeping it covered up or drained most of the time. Links: Lawrence and Lyari's first meeting

No one had ever thought of her as 'cute' and so the look he had was completely foreign to the demon, who merely watched him suspiciously. If she couldn't recognize something, that meant it was new - and after so long on this plane, 'new' might as well equal 'bad' when it came to things. Her eyes merely narrowed when he said he didn't want a broken pet. Oh, she hated when they referred to her as such a thing. Holding her tongue, as she'd said her peace and saw no reason to continue talking. Lyari's eyes followed the man as he went over to the door. He remark about throats made her wonder what he did in his spare time and why he wanted her to go with him. He had to have a reason, even if it was a stupid one - they were all stupid ones, she had found out.
Lyari glared at him when he approached her with the leash. Though she didn't move a muscle to betray her disgust, simply remaining as still as she stood was enough to convey her rage. He told her not to rip his arms off - that didn't mean that she wouldn't. Tense as he came closer and hardly about to let him put a leash on her like she was a dog, the demon was given pause when he snapped at the human to - loosen her collar? No one had ever said that before. Usually it was about how it could be tightened, or strengthened, that sort of thing. Lyari was caught by surprise enough to let the human go without harm, feeling the metal around her throat loosened enough to be...well, it would never be comfortable, but it was no longer a tight brand around her neck. Prepared to have him try to attach the length of fabric, again she was surprised when instead he simply refused to leash her.
She knew better than to run.
Lyari had tried that the first time and the magic that had ate at her was painful enough for her not to try again, no matter how badly she wanted to resist. Instead she stalked after the man, her back straight out of defiance, not going to cower like some beaten animal. She sensed he was angry and didn't see why - if he didn't like places like this, there was no reason for him to have been in in the first place. They were all hypocrites, she thought sourly, doing as they pleased and saying something opposite to look good. Looking around once they were outside, the demon briefly considered taking off, but with the chain still on, it would inevitably prove pointless. So she huffed as she slid into the car, stretching her long legs out as the man got in after her and they pulled away from the prison.
"What do you expect me to do for you?" Lyari asked finally, breaking the silence that had lasted since they had begun to drive. She had no idea where they were going and didn't much care, either. Her gaze was fixed on the divider in the car, not looking outside nor at her new 'master', or at least the man who was going to pretend to be until she ripped him in two. If you live long enough, you'll see that every victory turns into defeat taesty chicken ooc: I can't get over how he thinks she's cute. xD

❝ I won't go getting tired of you ❞
Lawrence seemed to calm down once they got away from the slave shop. He glanced over towards Lyari and smiled when she broke the silence with a simple question. "I guess I just want some company. And I know you're going to say it's a stupid reason. You seem to like the word "stupid" a lot," Lawrence laughed before he sighed and drummed his fingers on his knee. "And to answer your question about why I'm bringing you home; You seem to be interesting enough to keep me entertained simply with your attitude. Also, that pink head of hair you have is pretty cute," Lawrence added with a smirk. He wasn't sure how Lyari was going to feel about being called cute but Lawrence couldn't stop looking at her. He wanted to take all of her angry adorableness in all at once. He was so tempted to reach over and pinch her angry cheeks. Except he was pretty sure he wanted to stay alive. Lawrence wanted to flirt and tease her but he guessed that could wait until later. When Lyari looked less angry.
Soon they reached the mansion and he stepped out of the car before going over to open Lyari's door. "Try your best not to destroy the place. I'm going to give you a quick tour and then you can tell me if you need anything. Or I can deal with you trying to rip my heart out after," Lawrence said, wondering exactly how much damage Lyari could do. They'd find out sooner or later. For now, Lawrence stuck his hands in his pockets and lead Lyari towards the front door and glanced back at her. "You can try and run away but I'm probably going to sniff you out if you don't land in the slave shop first. I can't guarantee I'll be going back to pick you up like a run away dog if you do though."
Once they got to the front door, Lawrence opened it up and unbuttoned his white shirt. He considered stripping it off, wonder if Lyari would blush or look away in disgust. Maybe he would warn Lyari about his distaste for clothes. She already looked at him like a mutt so Lawrence guessed it wouldn't hurt. "I'll let you know that I'm not the biggest fan of clothes so if you're offended by the fact that sometimes I don't wear a shirt, let me know," he said, glancing over at her. "I don't think I'd mind if you went about topless though," he teased with a smirk that usually got women's (and sometimes men's) hearts racing. Lawrence didn't think that would work on Lyari.
He glanced down when he heard a soft meow and a slightly oversized cat came padding over to welcome Lawrence. She meowed again and rubbed against his legs before noticing Lyari and padding towards her. The bengal sniffed at the woman curiously, purring slightly. "Oh. This is Meemo. She's friendly so she might follow you around until she's use to you," Lawrence said as he reached down to pet her "She is not to be harmed." If Lyari hurt Lawrence's cat, she would see a side of Lawrence she probably wouldn't want to see. Even if she was an insanely strong demon. Lawrence would not take it lightly if his cat was hurt. As stupid as it may have seemed, the flash in Lawrence's eyes showed how serious he was.
"Now the," Lawrence purred, smiling as if the dark look in his eyes had never been there. "Let's show you around. We'll have you measured to get some clothes for you and if you have any food preferences or requests, don't be shy about it," the wolf continued naturally.
He showed her around the first floor. "Take anything you want to eat. I prepare meals but if you know how to cook, go for it. Feel free to use anything in the ball room and go ahead and read anything in the library."
When they got to the second floor, Lawrence showed her the bedrooms, letting Lyari know where his bedroom. "You can choose any room you'd like. But if you don't like to sleep alone, my bed always has some extra space," Lawrence purred with a smirk before he took her downstairs to the back yard. "Again, feel free to use anything here. The pool will remain drained and covered unless you want to use it. And don't bother trying to run away using the forest. Because it stops at a wide river that has a dangerously fast current. You aren't going to be able to swim across," Lawrence added. He unconsciously took them into the rosebush maze, easily finding his way through the thing before they found themselves at the centre. "Any questions?" he asked, for the second time.

If she was so inclined, Lyari would have burst into laughter. What an idiot. Out of all the submissive little slaves that there were in that place, he went and brought her home?! The only hint of the emotions she was feeling was the faintest twitch of the corner of her lip before she was once again poker-faced. Even when he called her hair 'cute', she was expressionless, simply staring at him for a moment too-long before sighing and returning her gaze to the tinted divider once again, staring straight ahead for the rest of the ride. The only thing that was pleasant was that there was enough room for her to stretch her legs out and not feel cramped.
The demon could have told that she saw no reason to go destroying material things, unless the loss would cause him pain, but kept that information to herself. If he thought she was more unpredictable, it could work in her favor, she mused. Following him sedately out of the car - the collar forced her to be somewhat obedient for the moment - Lyari curled her lip again when he referred to her as a 'runaway dog'. As if she could be compared to such a thing. Her face was blank as he undid his shirt and when he glanced down, he missed the roll of her eyes - the most expression she'd shown in decades, save for when there was blood on her hands. She was a demon and he was proving to be far stupider than she had previously thought if he honestly believed she could ever be offended by him shirtless. He could walk around completely naked and she wouldn't blink an eye. The same could be said of her - she was not sexless or asexual, but simply didn't see the point in being a prude. Especially when she could use her body to get what she wanted from masters, as she'd done in the past. Glancing down at the cat, an eyebrow raised slightly at his threat. Lyari saw no purpose in harming pets and animals - they were usually smarter than their masters and so she left them alone. This one just looked up at her, no hissing or spitting as usual, and she wondered if being around a dog had made it dumber than others of its species.
Musing over this, Lyari followed her new master around the mansion and didn't blink an eye at his suggestion of sharing a bed. Whether he was joking or not, she was unsure, and it didn't matter in the end. She slept during light hours if she was able, or at least napped, and usually stayed up throughout the night. It was a stereotype she wished wasn't true, but she was stronger at night. Her lip twitched again when he said she couldn't swim across a current - he clearly underestimated her abilities, or her strength, which was just fine by her. She hid that expression as well and had her hands clasped behind her back, fingers laced together, and glanced down at his large cat that had followed them around. It stared up at her and she sighed.
"I will not harm your pet, I get much more pleasure hurting those that have earned it," Lyari said with a slight shrug of her shoulders. He most likely wouldn't believe her and she didn't care. She had said her peace on that note and meant it. Pets were...toys, things to be played with. Perhaps on a deeper level, she empathized with them, stuck with stupid things. Superficially, however, there was simply no point. "And I do not want anyone in my room. Period. Keep your servants out of my territory and away from me and there will be no incidents." Collar or no, she couldn't stand having them around and Lyari would happily dismember a few maids to make her point if necessary. Neither of those things were questions, but she wasn't going to ask permission for anything. And if she felt like doing something, she would do it, simple as that.
It would be easy to cut right through the maze, but instead she decided to leave such destruction aside for now. Maybe later, if he annoyed her. Looking around for a moment, Lyari returned her flat stare back to Lawrence and thought again how annoying it was that the thing was taller than her. She was used to a size advantage in things like this. "I will go explore now," she told him, turning on her heel to go back through the hedges and return to the mansion. If you live long enough, you'll see that every victory turns into defeat

❝ I won't go getting tired of you ❞
Lawrence was pleased to hear that Lyari didn't plan on harming Meemo. If Meemo was brave enough to approach the woman and meow for pettings, Lawrence was sure that Lyari wouldn't hurt her. Perhaps Lyari had a soft spots for cute things as well? Lawrence tried not to laugh at the thought. He noticed moments when Lyari seemed to find things he said work smirking over herself and couldn't help but wonder what was going through the woman's head. She seemed to hate everyone, and Lawrence didn't blame her. But if Lyari thought that she could underestimate Lawrence's strength and assume that she could get away with anything simply because she was a demon, surely the woman had no clue what she was up against.
Lawrence wasn't as stupid as she thought he was. He wouldn't have bought her if he was unsure of his ability to hold her down. If push came to shove, Lawrence would just rip her throat out and get a new pet. Simple. But it would sure be a waste of that pretty face. Lyari was arrogant and that was exactly what had landed her the position as a slave to humans (and other species). But Lawrence wasn't about to say that outloud. He would play stupid and weak for a little bit to see how far the woman would go. If he had to bruise her a little bit, he wouldn't mind even thought it would be a shame. But part of Lawrence wanted to pin her down and show her who she belonged to; that she wasn't the only one with strength. That would wait until later. Clearly Lyari wasn't a pure woman and it showed by the way she simply rolled her eyes at his teasing. If she tried to seduce Lawrence to get what she wanted, he knew better than to fall for it. If she tried it, Lawrence would take the opportunity to show her who was in charge. Maybe Lawrence would be able to put a cute expression on Lyari's face. The corner of his lip twitched into a smile at the idea. When you owned a mansion like this, it wasn't uncommon for women to come chasing after you Lawrence liked to go out and play around so he understood when a women was offering up her body to try and make him weak for them. But Lawrence didn't always play nice, and usually women were sent running before they got the rewards the thought they would receive by offering him their bodies. Lawrence wasn't interested in being some sugar daddy for easy women. Easy women weren't cute. Unless you scared the confidence out of them.
When they finished their tour and Lyari told him that she would be exploring, he smiled and waved casually. He waited until Lyari was gone before he took a different route to get out of the maze to let the woman have some time alone. If she ran away, then she would face the consequences. Lawrence knew that she knew better. Instead he found a servant and notified them to tell all the staff that no one was to speak to Lyari, approach her, or enter the room that she chose. He would rather not have to clean up any bodies in his own house. Once the message was spread around, Lawrence headed towards the forest. He'd do a little hunting while Lyari explored.
The male headed over to the forest and began to strip, folding his clothes and leaving them at the foot of a tree thunk on his shoes. It was always a hassle to constantly buy new clothes whenever he tore them to shreds by shape shifting before removing his clothes. Once nude, he moved deeper into the forest and tilted his head back. He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, listening and taking in the scents around him. After a long moment, Lawrence heard shuffling not too far off and smirked. A rabbit sounded like a nice snack.
His eyes snapped open, flashing turquoise before they darkened and Lawrence shifted, too fast for human eyes to see. Where the tanned man had stood was now a huge white wolf, nearly as tall as Lawrence. It remained for only a second before taking off after it's prey, huffing pleasantly. As he chased after the rabbit, purposely going a little slower than usual to prolong the hunt, the white wolf. When he finally decided to stop playing with his food and catch the rabbit by the back of it's neck, it let out a high pitched and desperate squeal. Somehow he didn't feel like killing it though. But Lawrence didn't put it down either. Instead he adjusted his grip on the rabbit so that it wasn't harmed and turned around to head back into the house. He'd fetch his clothes later. And if he didn't Meemo would probably drag his clothes back in for him.
The rabbit shook as Lawrence carried it inside his mouth and went upstairs, sniffing out Lyari's room without bumping into her. He'd leave her a little gift. Maybe she would appreciate it. Maybe not. He'd find out. Once he made sure that she wasn't inside, Lawrence nudged the door open and plopped the rabbit inside, looking down at it as it sat frozen in fear. It was pretty young. Not completely grown up just yet. If anyone asked Lawrence, he would say that it wandered inside on his own.
Once he pulled the door shut, he headed back outside. He'd find another rabbit to eat. One that wasn't as small and cute.

It was quite a large place and she wondered how a dog like him had gotten it. Her heels clicked on the tile, softened when she passed over carpet, and she saw neither hide nor hair of any servants. Good, he had taken seriously. She hated most everything, but she especially hated humans. They were...disgusting. Abominable. She seethed just thinking too long about them, so she huffed to distract herself and glanced down when she heard a 'meow'. That massive cat was staring up at her with big eyes, looking a little hesitant - not that expected anything else.
"I already promised your master I would not harm you, though it was unnecessary to say," Lyari told the cat, her tone matter-of-fact as she looked down at it impassively. The cat blinked and then meowed again, this time sounding a bit more demanding. The demon, in turn, sighed and rolled her eyes slightly. Perhaps that was why she liked animals - they were much more honest. And brave. A quick look around assured her no one was trying to sneak around and hide to spy on her and she dropped into a crouch, her hand outspread. "Well? If you want pets, I am here," the demon said, sounding almost impatient this time. Meemo, in her opinion, took its sweet time approaching her before rubbing against the heel of her hand. Lyari stroked the cat for a few minutes before straightening up with the same ease she always did.
She really should find a room, she mused. Sleep wasn't necessary to her, at least not in the sense that humans required it, but it was pleasant enough. Much to her disgust as she began to explore the second floor, however, the only large room was Lawrence's. The others all belonged to servants and she refused to sleep in their quarters like she was a pet. Growling a bit, Lyari finally decided to take one room as hers, though it didn't mean she would be spending much time in it. The bed wasn't soft enough to her liking and she smirked, thinking of his earlier invitation of sharing his room. She was sure he believed she would not take him up on that offer and her lips curved just a bit more in amusement as she left for the time being to finish her explorations, and to make sure the servants wouldn't come near her.
After a bit of time had passed, amusing herself with the television and seeing what idiot things they had on since the last time she had seen one - in the sixties, she thought - Lyari took herself back up to the room she'd claimed and briefly wondered where she was going to get clothing. She couldn't magik up any with the collar and knew that was going to stay on. So he would simply have to purchase what she wanted and that gave her some sense of satisfaction as she opened the door. He'd have to spend more money on her and she always did like inconveniencing her 'masters'.
For a long moment, the demon simply stared down at the shivering little ball of fuzz that was on her floor, trying to hide under the bed.
Then she blinked and crept closer, sitting on the floor and holding out a hand. "You're very cute," Lyari said, in a tone too soft for anyone to hear her. The bunny's nose twitched, its ears pressed to its back, before it gingerly hopped forward. For a demon, she had a way with animals. Perhaps they simply sensed she wasn't as hostile to them as she was around anyone else. After a few minutes of sitting patiently, Lyari was rewarded with the bunny in her hands, holding it up and stroking carefully between its ears. She was no good names and briefly wondered how it had even gotten in here in the first place. Perhaps it belonged to someone else.
"Finder's keeper's," she thought smugly. If you live long enough, you'll see that every victory turns into defeat taesty chicken ooc: sorry I poofed, my dad put my cat down. and then I saw the bunny part and got all teary ;-;

❝ I won't go getting tired of you ❞
Lawrence decided not to hunt bunnies. Instead, he went for a deep deeper in the forest. He took it down easy enough. Instead of playing with his food, Lawrence swiftly but it's throat and killed the animal. He wasn't lying when he said he enjoyed ripping throats out. That was how Lawrence killed almost all of his meals. He took his time enjoying his catch, knowing that Lyari was going to be taking her time exploring the house. And once he finished he glanced down at his white fur, which was covered in blood. He wondered how Lyari would react to that? Lawrence smirked at the thought of her getting flustered but then he remembered that the woman was a blood thirsty demon who killed her masters. It probably wouldn't be anything new to her.
The wolf huffed as it moved away from the deer's carcass and Lawrence closed his eyes, saying a short prayer. He had to be thankful. And Lawrence had to admit that sometimes he felt a pang of guilt when he had to hunt. But that was simply how life went. Turning away from the caracas, Lawrence padded through the forest. He was checking to make sure that his territory hadn't been invaded by anyone or anything. He walked around and sniffed for any unfamiliar scents. By the time he was finished, Lawrence heard the sound of the river approaching and paused. It seemed like it was time to head back to the house.
Sighing in disappointment at his own cowardliness, he went and found his clothes, pulling on his boxer briefs and pants. He left his shirt off to avoid getting blood on it before entering the house. A shower might be a good idea. Lawrence could deal with showers. But he wouldn't sit in a tub full of water. Simply being near a tub or even a sink full of water made Lawrence's stomach church as he thought about the feeling of drowning. It was suffocating just to think about it. Lawrence wouldn't allow Lyari to find out about his fear of water. If she did, Lawrence doubted that she would hold back from using it against Lawrence.
He didn't really pay much attention to where Lyari might be at the moment. He trusted that she wouldn't be doing anything stupid like killing his servants or destroying the house quite yet. So instead of going to find her, Lawrence headed over to his bedroom and stripped off his remaining clothes to throw into the hamper. He turned on the water and stepped inside even though it hadn't warmed up yet. His body was still warm from hunting. Once it warmed up, the shape shifter began to thoroughly clean himself. He hated when blood dried on him and it was the worst when it dried and matted into his hair.
As expected, Lawrence's shower was quick. As soon as he was clean, the man stepped out of the shower and twisted his hair to let it dry. He patted his skin dry with a towel and rubbed his hair until it was just slightly damp. Hunting had made him tired and although it was probably a bad idea to sleep while Lyari was wandering around the house, Lawrence did it anyways. He tied his hair into a loose pony tail and crawled into his bed, smirking when he found that Meemo was occupying one of his pillows. If Lyari came in to hurt Lawrence, he was sure that the cat would do her best to protect her owner.

Oddly enough, at least oddly enough if anyone had seen it or thought to wonder, she knew exactly what the small creature needed to eat. The only thing she was at a loss for was where to put it to sleep and finally decided to put it in the tub for now, going to make the thing that owned her buy her a proper hutch for it. For now, she put some blankets in the tub, certainly not caring if the bunny messed on them, and fed it patiently. Lyari almost looked amused, her expression softened somewhat - though compared to her earlier poker face, anything would have seemed a dramatic change. The bunny didn't seem bothered by her lack of human-ness at all, not like one might assume when faced with a demon. Most animals failed to react to her, simply because she wasn't a threat to them, save for being attacked. Of all the things in the human plane, she got coexisted with animals the best, finding a sameness in their innate wildness that other things sorely lacked.
After a few hours, she noticed it was night out, though it wasn't from looking out the window. Even with the damn collar strapped around her throat, she could sense the moon's arrival and a smile tugged at her lips. It had been a while since she'd been outside of the Hotel wards and have her instincts returned to her without being dampened so much. Compared to the strength of the magic around that building, the collar was a mere inconvenience - one she hoped to overcome on her own, since it appeared the thing would not take it off. He was smart enough for that, she thought grudgingly, getting to her feet. She shut the bathroom door to keep the bunny in, not wanting it to escape or hurt itself in the room, and tapped her foot while she considered her options. The room was not nearly good enough for her, she had decided that upon entering. And she didn't like that it was where the other servants slept, lumping her in with humans who scraped and scampered around their 'betters'. The only other bedroom that she was aware of belonged to the thing that had purchased her and she sneered a bit, recalling his invitation to share the bed.
Well. She wouldn't rip his throat out, yet. Perhaps he would come to his senses and let her go before she decided she was bored of this place. Huffing in disgust, the demon tossed her head and strode of the room, leaving the door open. No one would go inside, she was sure of it, if they wanted to keep their arms. It was easy enough to find his room - she had an excellent memory and the only time she became lost was if she was blinded and left out in the middle of a desert, or tundra. Otherwise she was always able to pinpoint where she was and adjust her direction accordingly. The door was shut and she opened it, not bothering to try to be quiet, despite the lights being off. If he was asleep - too bad.
Lyari shut the door, though that was more to keep the idiot humans from gawking as they passed than any real desire for privacy. She had no reason to care much about that, but she absolutely detested being the center of someone else's amusement. Meemo mewed, raising its head from the pillow, and watched the demon undress with eyes dilated to see in the near-darkness. Lyari's did much the same, more than a human's would have, and left her clothing and jewelry in a pile on the floor near the door. Whether he was asleep or not, she didn't care, though she would have been able to tell if she wanted to. As it was, she simply climbed into the side of the bed Meemo was on, lifting the cat off of the pillow and resting it on her thighs instead as she got comfortable. The lack of clothing didn't bother her at all, neither did finding out that the thing in the bed wasn't wearing anything either. Scratching the big cat under its chin absently, Lyari stretched out and turned onto her stomach, leaving her hair loose, and stared at nothing in particular. Sharing a bed didn't bother her - sharing it with the thing didn't, either. She was nocturnal and found it hard to sleep at night, aching to wander, use her magic and cause trouble. But with the collar on, she couldn't do anything at night other than stare and grow restless. If you live long enough, you'll see that every victory turns into defeat

❝ I won't go getting tired of you ❞
Lawrence stirred when the bed shifted under him, muttering something inaudible in his sleep. The shuffling around the room and mewls from Meemo didn't wake Lawrence. What woke him up was the warmth that joined him under the sheets. The shape shifter stirred once more before finally rolling over and glancing at whoever had joined him in bed. Rather than seeming surprised or putting on his flirty facade, the corner of Lawrence's mouth turned up into a crooked smile. Obviously he was still half asleep because he freely reached out and brushed Lyari's hair from her face with gentle hands. As if he was touching an ancient artifact; as if being was too rough would cause Lyari to crumble between his fingers. Clearly Lawrence was proud of his purchase. His eyes didn't wander down Lyari's body and neither did his hand that was touching her hair every so slightly. "Can't sleep?" he whispered, pulling his hand back. He just laid in bed and stared at her for a moment with that gentle smile on his face before he eventually closed his eyes and drifted back to sleep.
The shape shifter slept like a rock for the next few hours. Every now and then he would shift or roll over in his sleep but other than that, nothing seemed to wake him up. Not even Meemo crawling around on the bed, purring and making herself comfortable in different spots. Eventually she hopped off the bed and ran around for a bit before crawling back into bed a few times before finally settling in between Lyari and Lawrence. Apparently she didn't quite trust the woman beside Lawrence since she kept returning and checking on them and purposely placed herself between the two of them. It wasn't until it began to pouring rain outside that Lawrence started stirring in his sleep again. This time he didn't roll over and smile at Lyari. Instead he tossed and frowned, groaning. Apparently Meemo was used to this and she immediately crawled over to Lawrence and began licking and nuzzling his face in attempt to wake Lawrence up. Surely Lyari didn't know about Lawrence's fear of water and drowning. Even though he knew that he couldn't drown in something like rain, the sound of water still made Lawrence uncomfortable. Lawrence was hoping to conceal that fear but it seemed that his discomfort was showing as he slept and seemed to dream something unpleasant.
By the time Lawrence actually woke up, Meemo was mewling and pawing at him. He woke with a start and sat up, gasping for air. When the shape shifter finally caught his breath, he closed his eyes and sighed, pushing his hair back from his face. He glanced down at his lap and stroked Meemo to calm her down. Obviously she was worried about him but Lawrence kissed her nose instead to let her know that he was okay now. He froze though when he saw a lump in the sheets next to him. Lyari...? When had she gotten there? It look a moment for Lawrence to remember that she had crawled into his bed last night. Had she seen Lawrence's little episode?

She was unsure if she'd allow it or rip his arm off for trying, figuring she could make up her mind when he did it. Any other man she knew would have done exactly that, considering she was naked in their bed, as that was normally an invitation. Instead he left her almost confused when he simply pulled his hand and went back to sleep. Frowning as she tried to figure out what sort of game he was playing with her, the demoness shifted and stayed awake most of the night. Between the usual discomfort of the collar and her new environment, as well as simply being nocturnal, Lyari was most certainly awake for his little episode. She remained on her stomach, pretending to be asleep when she felt him wake up, stifling the smirk. So, there was something that bothered him enough to have nightmares. Although the demoness hadn't associated it with the rain outside, it was enough for her to know that he had some sort of weakness, bad enough for that. It would give her leverage.
When he merely looked at her, and didn't try to 'wake' her up or otherwise bother her, Lyari shifted a bit to get more comfortable, a motion that would have easily occurred in her sleep. Honestly, she didn't care if he knew she was awake or not, but she didn't intend to announce it to the world. Besides, dawn was a few hours away still, but the nearing hour was making her own eyes grow heavy. Of course she could function in the daytime - most creatures she was forced to associate did, so she'd had no choice but to adjust her own habits to accommodate them, unless she wanted to deal with their punishments. It didn't mean she enjoyed it, or that her body liked fighting against her natural urges. As she finally fell asleep, the female looked almost peaceful, certainly more relaxed than he would have seen her up until then. Lyari knew he wouldn't do anything to her while she was sleeping, a decision that had been made from logic. It would idiotic to test out how lightly she slept, as well as to antagonize a purchase he had spent so much money on. He'd leave her alone or she'd rip a few limbs off and make him eat them, that was all. She ended up hugging the pillow to her while she slept, the sound of the storm having the opposite effect on her - she enjoyed the violent storms of this plane, and the sounds of thunder and rain against the winds made it easier to sleep. ❝ I won't go getting tired of you ❞
Lawrence sighed and brushed his hair out of his face with his hand, glancing outside. He was considering going out to hunt like he usually did during the mornings once he woke up. But considering how wet it would be outside, Lawrence decided to eat inside today. He would ask the staff to prepare breakfast later... It was too early to wake Lyari for breakfast right now. Even if he knew that she was awake, Lawrence wasn't going to make her get up to eat. She could eat when she wanted to. For now, Lawrence rolled out of bed and stretched. He picked up Meemo and the cat made herself comfortable by dangling herself on his neck, her front paws on one side of his neck and her back feet on the other.
Lawrence tied his hair into a messy pony tail and went to slide into a pair of cotton joggers. Before leaving the room, he glanced at Lyari who seemed to be sleeping peacefully though the rain. Meanwhile, the ongoing sound of rain pouring over the house sent a shiver down Lawrence's spine. He ended up strolling over to the library, where the shelves lined with books seemed to block out the sound of the rain. Lawrence grabbed his iPod and headphones on the way there, plugging himself in and playing his music loud enough that he didn't need to hear the rain. Once that was out of the way, Lawrence strolled by the book shelves, picking out different reading materials before he sat himself down on a couch with his stack of books while Meemo fled to go back to bed now that Lawrence seemed okay. He slid on a pair of reading glasses and flipped through different ones, reminding himself that he needed to pick up books that he hadn't read yet. But for now, he kept scanning through books took look for one particular book he recalled reading many years ago. But before he could find it, Lawrence ended up dozing off on the couch with books scattered all around him. Lyari could explore the house or come find Lawrence one she woke up. But Lawrence was too exhausted by having his little trauma dig up by the rain.
It seemed the staff had gone ahead and prepared brunch for Lyari and Lawrence while the two were busy sleeping. The staff stayed away from Lyari since Lawrence had instructed for them to do so and they had left Lawrence to sleep in the library. But the scent of the food flowed through the house, urging the two of them to wake up. Eventually Lawrence did, not realizing that he had fallen asleep to begin with. He set the books aside and padded towards his bedroom before stopping downstairs to check if Lyari was up. Lawrence wasn't entirely sure what kind of food she liked but he would find out sooner or later depending on how the women reacted to the food that she was fed. Now that he thought about it, he wasn't entirely sure if Lyari had eaten the night before while Lawrence was out hunting and then off to bed.

And as her current one left her well-enough alone, she was able to sleep through the morning hours. Meemo had ended up curling up on the demoness' back, as Lyari was a still sleeper once she finally let herself rest enough, and the weight was almost welcome. She didn't eat human food much, usually not offered it to start, but the smell was enough to wake her up and make her groan as she stretched out, her movements languid like she was some sort of overgrown cat herself. Yawning, Lyari pushed her hair away from her face as she sat up, absently petting the big cat for a moment before getting to her feet. In the daytime she was less sharp - at least verbally - than she was at nighttime. It was her peak hours, after all, when the moon was in the sky and the sun was safely behind the horizon. She was able to function perfectly well during the daytime, but was always a bit...off. And it took her longer to wake up when the sun was streaming in through cracks in his curtains, making her almost growl in annoyance. If she had to get up, as her stomach suggested after smelling food, then she could at least be allowed to wake up in perfect darkness. Or as near to it as he could manage. Huffing as she pulled on her clothing from the previous day, she simply ran a hand through her hair and her magic was enough to serve as a brush and stylist both. Even with the damn collar on she could perform simple things such as that, thanks to being away from the damnable wards of the building she had been trapped in. A grimace sharpened her features briefly before it fell away and she was back to her deadpan expression.
"There is a bunny rabbit in my room and I require a home for it," was how she greeted the man, coming out of the room to see him in the hallway. Even with Meemo bothering her clothing, there was a distinct lack of cat hair on her, or rabbit fur - another perk to her magic. "I also smell food, it was on my papers what I prefer and dislike." There was absolutely no reason to expound on her previous statement and say she was going to keep the rabbit - ordering a hutch for it made that abundantly clear in her opinion. The look Lyari gave her master was a lingering one, probing for weakness, sharp and slow as she made sure not to miss anything. It was anything but a sexual sort of gaze and her expression changed not a bit once the inspection was finished. That was enough of 'small talk' for the female and she headed down the hall to the kitchen, her memory excellent in regards to any new surroundings she was stuck in. It was always preferable to be amply prepared for any sort of escape and when she lacked her magic, there were things in a home that no one imagined could be used as a murder weapon. Lyari, however, possessed an imagination that would frighten most others.
It seemed that either Lawrence had indeed given his staff her preferences, they were excellent guessers, or had her papers. The demoness was almost-pleasantly surprised as she entered the kitchen, though her sense of smell was acute enough that she had already guessed what was waiting for her. There was a salad of fruits and vegetables that were in season in the fall, and while some she appreciated more than others, they were all much better than some other things the staff could have come up with. Lyari wasn't a picky eater, as long as the meal had some sort of taste to it, but this was a better way to start her day than she had anticipated. If the damn collar was off her neck, it would be almost perfect. Huffing at the thought, she used the fork that was next to her bowl to begin to eat, hardly some sort of barbarian to use her fingers. Even 'finger food' was subjected to utensils, when she deigned to eat such things - the only thing she didn't mind on her fingers was blood. "This is adequate," she remarked curtly after a few bites, though that was high praise coming from Lyari.

❝ I won't go getting tired of you ❞
Lawrence stopped when he met Lyari in the hall and smirked at her greeting. So apparently she was attached to his little gift. It seemed Lyari had a soft spot for it. Even the way she called it a "bunny rabbit" was adorable even though her fierce appearance contrasted the idea. Lawrence was sure that anyone who heard him call Lyari cute would assume that something was wrong with his head. But of course, when Lyari spoke again she was as straight forward as usual. Of course, Lawrence had made sure that the staff were informed about the information on Lyari so that they would be able to serve her properly and keep an eye out for her to avoid getting hurt. The staff were excellent so Lawrence was sure that they were careful with what they served her for breakfast. Lawrence, on the other hand they knew well enough so the staff didn't require too much instruction to serve the wolf.
When the woman finally made eye contact, Lawrence put his hands up dramatically as if to defend himself from her gaze. It was more like a glare than anything. The woman really had it out for him, didn't she? Not that it wasn't unexpected. After all, Lawrence had purchased her as if she was some material item. He would be sure not to treat her as well as long as it wasn't necessary. Lawrence was sure that the only time he would become possessive was if it was for her protection... Or something along those lines. But once her glaring was finished and she continued on her way, Lawrence followed behind her, cocking his head as he wondered how she was going to receive the woman's approval. Showering her with gifts and not expecting anything back seemed like the best way to go!
He took a seat across form Lyari and glanced at the woman as she ate, beginning to eat his own breakfast as well. Lawrence enjoyed fruits and vegetables but he still preferred raw meat. Seared meat was okay too as long as the inside was still bloody. But Lawrence had a feeling that Lyari didn't want to see Lawrence tearing into raw meat first thing in the morning (except maybe she wouldn't mind, since she seemed to enjoy a bit of blood and gore quite a bit). He'd hunted recently so he was fine with his breakfast at the moment. It still tasted good so he wasn't complaining. Unlike Lyari, Lawrence casually ate with his hands and smirked when she commented on the food. "Oh, is it? That's good to hear," he replied casually. As they ate, Lawrence seemed to think for a moment before he glanced at Lyari.
"We're going shopping today. You can get clothes or anything else you'll be needing. And maybe some stuff your your bunny rabbit as well," Lawrence decided, smiling at Lyari. "Try not to rip any hearts out while we're shopping, or you don't get to keep the bunny," the man purred, almost sounding like he was precautioning a child. He had a feeling that Lyari was going to get him back for the teasing.
Once they finished eating and were ready to leave, Lawrence had the driver ready in the driveway right outside the door. Glancing at the collar that looked suffocating around Lyari's neck, Lawrence reached over to finger it carefully, frowning at the quality and material. "Let's do something about this first," he said, more to himself than to Lyari. Their first stop was a jewellers that catered to masters and mistresses. He already had an idea of what he wanted for Lyari. He was sure the woman didn't appreciate the collar around her neck screaming that she was a slave. So when they arrived, he asked to be shown the necklaces meant for slaves. Of course, it would still hinder Lyari's powers but it was better than a collar and they looked like regular, high end, fine jewellery.
"Take your pick. If you don't like anything, we'll get some thing made for you," Lawrence instructed as the sales woman stood close by. She seemed quite comfortable near the dangerous slave. Probably because her own slave was lingering close by, most likely keeping an eye out for his mistress in case any slaves acted up.
"It doesn't have to be a necklace either, Ma'am," she said quiet formally, even thought she was a human addressing a slave. "It can be a bracelet or a ring... Earrings even. Any type of jewellery that you favour.

As it was, she simply narrowed her eyes and made another black mark against the man when his time was up. He would pay for it, she would make sure of it. Her eyebrow rose when she was told they were going shopping and the demon frowned at his remark concerning hearts. She wasn't sure if he was trying to bribe her and failing miserably, or teasing her. Either way, she had no plans to go around ripping hearts out of people on the street. So she simply snorted a bit and would have found it even more amusing to know he wasn't sure if raw meat would bother her. She was a demon - very little bothered her when it came to such things. "I need more clothing, so I suppose I will go shopping with you," Lyari replied after a moment, making it sound as if she had a choice rather than dragged along like the slave she was. Pointedly ignoring the man for the rest of the meal so she could maintain some self-control and not make him eat his own eyeballs, the demon finished her meal - another silent, yet pointed - compliment. If something was not satisfactory, she never ate more than a bite, let alone the entire plate.
She most certainly did not care for him touching the collar and for a moment thought he was mocking her, bringing attention to it. Her back straight, she glared at him, her fingers twitching a bit. The urge to rip his heart out as he had to go and touch it, bothering her, was almost overwhelming and she breathed through her nose as she entered the car, crossing one knee over the other and looking for all the world like a queen lounging on her throne. It was what she always looked like, no matter where she was, because that was who she was, in her mind.
Her heels clicked sharply on the marble floor of the shop they entered and Lyari looked around, almost curiously. The woman's formal tone both pleased her and caused her to narrow her eyes - humans enjoyed mocking those who couldn't fight back, she had learned, although she could easily kill her before either Lawrence or the other slave could stop her. Still, she didn't feel like it and simply nodded dismissively when told it could be anything at all. The spells in the room made her pupils dilate as she soaked in the magic. It was strong, much stronger than the weak wards at the Hotel, the conglomeration of magic and spells almost making her feel sick to her stomach. Her back stiff, the demon moved to inspect the pieces inside the cases, unsure what sort she would even prefer. It would be like the collar anyway - something she was forced to wear, and as such she had very little enthusiasm as she surveyed the stones and metal, all encased in velvet and glass. Her lips pursed as one caught her eye, easily able to tell it was quite valuable.
"I will take this one," Lyari announced, leaving no room for argument as she gestured to the ring.

❝ I won't go getting tired of you ❞
Lawrence watched as Lyari stiffened as they entered the store, glancing down at the jewelry. Perhaps it had to do with the dampening effect of the jewelry. He could feel it as well but it probably had a greater impact on Lyari since she was wearing a collar. In that case, he would make their purchase quickly and leave. Lyari didn't spend time going back and forth between different pieces. As soon as she gestured towards the ring, he nodded to the woman behind the counter and she smiled at the two of them. She leaned down and unlocked a drawer, placing a tray of the same ring in different sizes onto the table. The woman helped Lyari to find the appropriate fit and once the ring was chosen, Lawrence paid quickly and signed the contract to have the ring sealed onto Lyari's finger. It could only be removed by none other than Lawrence. He didn't listen to much of the woman's chatting about the features of the ring. He just wanted to leave since the dampening effect floating around the store was making him tired.
As soon as they left the store, Lawrence paused to step in front of Lyari. "Let's get rid of this before we continue shopping," he said as he undid the buckle on the collar and removed it. Having no reason to keep it, he tossed it into the closest trash can as they walked by. "Now that that's over with," he sighed as he pushed his hair back from his face, "Let's get on with shopping, shall we?"
He wasn't a huge fan of shopping. Considered Lawrence usually just stuck with pants or nothing at all when he shifted. So he let Lyari choose what she wanted. He stayed a few steps behind the woman and let her do her thing, pausing when he felt a pair of eyes on them... No... A pair of eyes on Lyari. He glanced up to see a man watching the woman shop and quickly stepped between in front of his line of vision, not liking the eyes he was making at Lyari. He knew well enough that Lyari could defend herself and didn't mean to be posessive. But at the same time he felt like now wasn't the good time to see how far it would escalate if the man were to make some kind of advance on Lyari. She seemed to like tearing hearts out quite a bit, after all.
He bared his teeth and the man quickly looked away, recognizing that the pink haired woman wasn't alone. He casually strode past Lyari to avoid her noticing that he scared off the man watching her and stopped when he ended up in front of a wall of lingerie.
"Need help choosing?" he teased, looking back and smirking at demon.
