XXXXXXXX◈The truth will SET you freexxxxxxxxxx════════════════════XXXXXXXXXXXXXbut first ⋱xx══════════════════════XXXXXit will piss` you offxxxxxxxxxxxxxx═════════════════════x x Karina knew he was bullshitting her and the expression on her face showed it, both cynical and a bit amused, as if surprised that he was actually making fun of her. Or maybe making fun of the whole idea of buying someone to 'rescue' them? She wasn't sure, but when he started cackling, surprising the guard, she relaxed just slightly. At least the guy had a sense of humor, she reasoned, and she watched him warily as he came closer to her. Some guys liked to try funny stuff in the rooms, even with the guards there, and she had clocked a few that had gotten fresh. It hadn't gotten her any points with the owner of the place, but it was gratifying to have them walk out with black eyes. Her eyes narrowed when he said she was going to go with him, obviously not giving her much of a choice. So she guessed that he had made up his mind. Was that bad or good for her?
Cantankerous? Who the hell used that word nowadays?
Karina snorted at the remark about her knowing 'how to have fun'. "Of course I know how to have fun, do I look like some boring old lady to you?" she asked indignantly, sounding like he'd offended her. She paused when he actually introduced himself - he didn't seem the sort to give a damn what people thought of him, she could tell that just by his demeanor, so why he was bothering to tell her, she didn't know. Make her feel more at ease? He hadn't struck her as the sort to care about that, either, so she wasn't sure how to react to the man. Ignoring the guard's noise as well, the young woman flinched back when he abruptly tossed something onto the bed. Looking over and seeing it was a stack of papers, she blinked and looked back at the man, confusion clearly in her face. He was hiding something, that much was sure, and she wasn't sure if this was some sort of trap or not.
Picking up the stack of papers and shuffling them back together neatly, more to make it easier for her to read than truly caring about them being in order and neat, Karina began to skim over them. Her eyebrow raised as she realized it was all just a bunch of ridiculous nonsense, but if he thought she would get angry about it, it was exactly the opposite. She thought it was insane that someone would walk around with stuff like this - did he actually expect her to believe it? Looking up at him, Karina began to laugh, shaking her head in amusement as she tossed the papers back at him. Whether he let them fall or caught them, she didn't much care and didn't bother to look. "What a load of crap! It's the best sort of bullshit I've read in years!" she admitted, cracking up at the image of the man in the Elvis costume as it came to the forefront of her mind. It was obvious she thought it was funny as hell and she wondered if this sort of thing was typical for the man. Wiping at her eyes, a few tears having been squeezed out from how hard she was laughing, Karina shook her head and calmed down. "That was awesome, I bet you could write one of those make-believe biographies of celebrities and everyone wouldn't know if it was true or not." Snorting in amusement, she slid to her feet and straightened out her clothing absently, not much caring about it. He'd already seen her, there was no reason to try to primp for him.
"So, are we going then, or what? I need new clothing," she added, her tone turning from expectant to matter-of-fact. Because if he was going to buy her, he was going to let her do as she pleased.

______________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________________ ❝ Beauty is in the eye of the beholder ❞___

How long had he been here? Kau couldn't remember how many days he had been kept in this room. After about a month he stopped waiting for his master to return to pick him up. Whatever... He didn't need that man. However, when the teen let thoughts like that leak into his mind, his heart ached. Why didn't he want him? Kau whimpered at the thought and rolled over on his bed and patted the sheets until he found his stuffed toy, drawing it into his chest. At least he had been brought back up from the downstairs rooms into the nicer rooms upstairs. Every now and then, the boy threw fits, trashing the room. Or when food was brought to him, he would try to escape the room. But Kau knew better now after spending what felt like eternity in the basement rooms. It was cramped and cold and Kau hated it down there.
Sighing softly through his nose, Kau tried to move his mouth to ease the soreness in his jaw and sat up while pulling his stuffed rabbit into his lap. He "stared" at the door for a while, wondering if he would get any visitors today. Usually when masters came to take a look at him, that was when Kau threw fits. If he managed to get the gag out of his mouth he often snapped and bit at them, not wanting to be bought by them. He was convinced that his beloved master who had abandoned him would return eventually, despite everything that had been done to Kau. The gag in his mouth had been tightened after a few incidents where masters were bitten and that explained the soreness in his jaw.
With a huff, Kau set the plushy aside and crawled off the bed towards the washroom. He'd been here long enough that Kau could crawl and walk around the room freely without tripping on anything or bumping into furniture. He got into the washroom and stripped off his clothes without any trouble. Kau struggled to get the thick blindfold off and didn't bother with the gag, knowing that he wasn't going to get it off if the shop owner didn't want it off, just like the unfamiliar collar around his neck. Once he was naked except for the gag Kau stood and walked into the shower, flinching when cold water hit his skin then sitting on the bottom of the shower.
Showering wasn't much of a problem for Kau except he was clumsy. Slipping was always a fear of Kau's since he couldn't see but at least if he slipped and hit his head in the shower, he couldn't really drown. If there had been a bath instead of a shower, the boy wouldn't have dared to set one foot in it without assistance. Drowning wasn't fun. Kau learned that after trying to be independent by bathing on his own at one point in his life and he received one hell of a punishment for that. From then on, Kau preferred to have someone help him bathe and shower but, of course, no one could really help him now. He enjoyed having another set of hands wash and dress him. Kau simply enjoyed the warmth of others. And by others he meant his previous master.
Huffing again, Kau patted the edges of the shower until he found the soap and carefully cleaned dirt off of his skin. When you crawled around on the ground all day, you couldn't exactly stay very clean, but then again that was why Kau was always dressed with gloves and boots that went above his knees.
Once his body and hair were nice and clean, Kau grinned happily to himself. If his master had known that Kau had been a good boy and showered successfully on his own, would the man have been happy and kept Kau instead of throwing him away? The pleasing thought of being praised only lasted a moment before the grin fell off Kau's face and he turned the water off, carefully crawling out of the washroom and pulling a towel off the wall. He "glanced" at the spot where he had left his clothes and decided not to get dressed again. It was too much trouble when he couldn't see what exactly he was putting on. So Kau stood and wrapped himself in the big, warm, fluffy towel and padded over to his bed. He flopped down, grabbed his stuffed toy, and rolled about in the warm little cocoon that the towel made for them. At least he still had the stuffed rabbit.

Lyari let out a sigh that suggested she had been suffering the slings and arrows of wretchedness for far too long, laying back on the bed and stretching her hand up towards the rocky ceiling above of her. She hadn't 'taken' to the person who had come to see her a few weeks ago - or months, she was unsure how much time had passed. He had tried to touch her, which resulted, quite naturally, in a broken arm for him and plenty of screaming. They had spelled her and brought her down to the basement rooms, as if she were a naughty child and was being put in time out until she learned how to behave. A smirk graced her features and she might have laughed, if she had felt the desire to.
A naughty child indeed.
Time passed oddly in this place, as her meals were infrequent now that they considered her such a threat to their own safety. Idiots. If they were wise, they wouldn't have even bothered to try to keep her here, Lyari thought, annoyance gracing her lovely features. She had no use for this place, and yet the magic here was too strong for her to break through completely. Push and pull as she might, it would always snap back, like a particularly-determined elastic that was bound to wear out. Only it hadn't worn out, much to her chagrin. This entire place was little more than a gilded prison, at least the main building was. These rocky rooms were more to her style. They were honest, at least, not hiding the true purpose of what this place was - to buy and sell flesh. Human or otherwise. If she hadn't been trapped here herself, the idea would have appealed to Lyari. Perhaps she would have even found it in her to purchase someone, simply to watch them squirm under what would gingerly be called her 'care'. But there was no choice given to her, a growl rising in her throat at the futile thoughts of 'what ifs'. She had been around humans too long if she was going to indulge in mindless daydreaming like an idiot.
With a shake of her head, the demon sat up straight. She could hear someone coming down the hall and her eyes narrowed. Without the sounds of fighting, or the dragging of a body, she sincerely doubted they were bringing someone else down here to keep her company. Lyari guessed that it was someone who was going to look at her and actually be stupid enough to consider purchasing. A frown was settled on her face as she sat up, her knees bent to accommodate how low the bed was, arms resting on top of them. Even sitting she cut an intimidating figure - her clothes were plain enough, though richly made, but she allowed her jewels to speak for her. It was obvious that the demon preferred the finer things in life, adorned with gold and gems that had cost a fortune if she had deigned to pay for them. They had all been pilfered from the corpses of former masters, or from the ruins of their estates, and she wore them like trophies of old. They had been earned, after all.
Now it was all she had, like some pathetic peasant living off the scraps given to them by those deemed higher in society. A faint snarl escaped her before she calmed her features, looking impassively at the door, her expression a perfect poker face. Her fingers were curled together, elbows on her knees, and it was obvious she would not get up to show respect for anyone, as they had tried to tell her to do once. Some nobleman or another had come into her room and they thought she would show him the proper respect! If she hadn't been so busy trying to gut him, Lyari might have laughed herself sick at the stupidity of the things beneath her. If you live long enough, you'll see that every victory turns into defeat

❝ I won't go getting tired of you ❞
Boring... So boring...
He flipped through files in front of him, looking at photos of slaves before carefully reading through the descriptions of the slaves. Lawrence didn't care too much about what kind of collars or charms they had on them. As long as they weren't as boring as reading through all these papers. Perhaps Lawrence should be thought it through and been more specific about what he wanted. That probably would have saved him the endless list of slaves. He glanced up at the Mistress who ran the show then back down to the papers. Eventually Lawrence stopped looking so deeply into the descriptions and started going by the photos, pausing when he got a glimpse at a head full of... Pink? Pink hair?
Lawrence looked at the photo more closely, then read through the female's file. She would do. Lawrence had a feeling that he would like her. Standing up, he slid the file to Mistress Athena and flashed a smile. "I'd like this one," the shape shifter said. Without any questions, he paid for the demon before he was escorted down to the basement bedrooms by a human male. He smirked. It seemed the woman he had chosen was a bit of a handful... but that was probably a good thing, considering Lawrence had all the time in the world to deal with her. When they reached the room, Lawrence noted what sounded like a snarl from the other side of the room. Did the pink haired demon know he was coming? His blue eyes lit up. What kind of welcome would the wolf receive? Not a nice one, he guessed.
The human opened the door for Lawrence but as soon as the wolf stepped inside, the door was shut behind him and the shape shifter blinked in confusion until his eyes wandered over to the pink haired beauty sitting on the bed in the dimly lit room. Ah... The human male was probably making sure the woman didn't get loose. Even if it meant Lawrence might be ripped to shreds. How cute.
He took a step towards the woman and cocked his head to the side curiously, long strands of silver hair falling from his face. "No "Hello"?" Lawrence asked, voice low and quiet; not unnecessarily loud but loud enough to be heard. His black boots thudded against the floor until Lawrence across the floor until he was stand about a foot in front of Lyari. Probably a dangerous amount of space to put between himself an a blood thirsty demon, but Lawrence was pretty sure he could handle a little brawl with the woman. His hands moved to his hips and Lawrence cocked his head to the other side and he smiled a crooked smile, looking the woman up and down quickly before he met her grey eyes. Lawrence's hair was almost as long as her's. While his skin was slightly darker than the woman's, Lawrence's eyes were a piercing turquoise that seemed to align well with Lyari's hard grey eyes.
"Well, I'm not going to waste time pretending I don't know your name so that we can spend a moment getting your name and kissing up to you. And I'm not going to bother asking you if you want to come home with me, because we both know that even if you say no, I've already taken a liking to you, which is why I'm here... That and I've already paid for you. So I'll make this short and sweet," Lawrence began. He knew that the woman wasn't going to take a liking to him any time soon so Lawrence was just going to get everything over with and figure everything out along the way. "Your name is Lyari. Mine is Lawrence. You're a demon and I'm a shape shifter. A wolf to be more specific. I'm bored at home so I'm here to purchase you so keep me some company and in return you can do whatever you want except run away, rip my head off, or do anything else that will result in my death. That's about it. And I'm pretty sure you know the drill. I heard you've gone through a handful of masters. Now then-" Lawrence clapped his hands together and smirked. "Why questions, princess?"
It was probably clear that the wolf wanted to get out of this place as soon as possible. Especially after spending so much time reading over all those files to stumble across the demon in front of him. He stared at the demon and couldn't help but smile. She looked cute. Even if she was a killer. Lawrence had a soft spot for anything that looked cute and even if Lyari was known as emotionless, Lawrence wanted to reach out and ruffle that cotton candy pink hair. Except if he tried that, he might lose his hand. Lawrence wanted to hurry up and get out of this place so that he could hurry up and play with the pink demon

He smelled like a wet dog to her and his introduction as to what he was - it was completely unnecessary. The collar inhibited her powers, it didn't make her blind and lame like a thing. Her eyes were narrowed and save for her lip, Lyari was perfectly still as she stared up at him. Normally it would seem a submissive sort of pose in front of the tall man, sitting down, but her posture was anything but. If she didn't prefer to avoid the sort of magic they used to subdue the last time, she might have lunged at him, just to prove she was the stronger of the two.
Princess.
Ugh.
"Questions?" she asked, her tone sour as she rose to her feet in one elegant gesture. A human or other creature would have needed to push themselves up, to brace their hands on the bed - Lyari simply went from sitting to standing in one fluid motion, her hands now resting at her sides. It didn't make them any less dangerous than if they had been around his throat - well, if she didn't have the damnable collar-chain around her neck, pressing into her skin every time she had to swallow. They did it on purpose, she knew, and it made too much sense for her to even feel spiteful about it. "I would ask why a thing like you would be stupid enough to bring me home - but I have seen plenty of things stupid like you. No point to that question," the demon remarked, tossing her head. With her heels on, she was only a few inches shorter than the man and she didn't like the size advantage he had on her. It had been a while since she'd spoken with something other than human, but the experience wasn't pleasurable. There was an accent to her words, something unrecognizable, harkening back to her origins beyond the mortal planes. If she decided to speak in her native tongue, she could have hellfire raining down, flames licking from her tongue at every word. Now they were just words - but still sharp enough to cut like any dagger, she had learned.
The things were so soft and vulnerable.
"If you think to tame me, I would advise against such an idiotic notion," Lyari continued, raising her hand to briefly examine her nails, clearly bored of the conversation. "I say this not for your benefit, but mine. I do enjoy ripping out hearts, but being brought back here with the magic...it is distasteful." She shrugged, the ancient Gaelic gesture suiting her, saying plenty without wasting anymore words on him. Saying her piece, the demon eyed him, having sized him up as soon as he'd walked through the door. He was older than she was used to dealing with, and stronger - but considering she had dealt with humans for so long, that was saying very little. It was comparing him to infants. If you live long enough, you'll see that every victory turns into defeat taesty chicken ooc: I thought it was great!

❝ I won't go getting tired of you ❞
Lawrence smirked as he noticed the woman's distaste in reaction to him. When she stood, he noted her elegance and remained where he was. He didn't bother taking a step back. Lawrence just watched Lyari with eyes full of curiosity. When she spoke, Lawrence grinned. She called him a "thing". How cute. Something told Lawrence that even if he did have a sadistic side, he had a masochistic steak that enjoyed the bitterness laced in the woman's voice. When she went as far as to call him stupid, the wolf chuckled. It was hard to take her seriously with her pink hair and pretty face. She looked like a puffed up cat baring its teeth. So cute. So so cute. And that accent of hers. Adorable.
"Train you?" Lawrence asked, laughing as he moved towards she door and knocked from the inside to let the guard know he was ready to come out. "Now, why would I want some boring, old, broken pet? I wouldn't care much for that. But I'll let you know this; While you may enjoy ripping out hearts, I love ripping out throats," Lawrence added as he turned and grinned at Lyari, showing his teeth. When he noticed her sizing him up, Lawrence smirked. "Like what you see?" he laughed, even though he knew that she wasn't looking at him for that reason. But, if she was, Lawrence wouldn't mind much.
When the door opened, Lawrence smirked at the human. "I'll be taking her," he confirmed. The door opened and Lawrence was handed a leash. He grimaced and suppressed memories of his wretched mother before glancing back at Lyari. "Don't rip my arms off, now," he said as he held up the leash. Lawrence stepped over to the woman but paused when he saw the collar, noticing how tight it was. He frowned, his face full of displeasure. Lawrence knew how it felt to have a collar tightly bound to his neck and to be dragged around by a leash. The collar was unnecessarily tight. Lawrence wouldn't be having any of that. As he reached up as if to loosen it, the human at the door spoke up but before he could get his full sentence out and tell Lawrence that he couldn't remove the collar, the wolf turned and shot a glare at the human, surpassing a growl.
"I'm not a fool. Loosen this," he shot, before he turned back to Lyari. His turquoise eyes flashed for a second before turning back to normal as he stared at the collar. Lawrence obviously wouldn't remove it. He wouldn't risk unleashing the woman's powers but he did loosen the collar enough that it should be more comfortable. The human scurried over and did as told. Once the collar looked more comfortable, Lawrence looked down at his hand and then tossed the leash at the man. "I don't need this."
Lawrence glanced at Lyari. "You know better than to run," he said before he turned on his heel and walked out of the room. Obviously Lawrence wanted to get out of this place as soon as possible. It was starting to make him think about a few things he would have rather left in the dark. Obviously he was a bit angry at how the place was run. Every now and then he glanced over his shoulder to make sure that Lyari was behind him. If she tried to run, as soon as Lawrence shifted into a wolf she would realize how pointless trying to run would be. Lawrence would catch up to her in a heartbeat and drag her to the car and Lawrence was sure that Lyari didn't want to be left with some nasty gashes in her pretty body from a wolf's mouth.
Once they get to the car Lawrence opened the back door for Lyari and slid in beside her and shut the door, looking at the driver in the read view mirror.
"Get us the hell out of here," he said as he leaned back with a sigh.

The soft buzzing sound of an alarm clock could be heard throughout the empty apartment building, which caused the blonde head next to it to stir. Soon enough emerald eyes began to open and look over at the time. Yawning softly as the teen began to fully awake, he reached over to shut off the alarm before sitting on the edge of his bed. A hand ran through his thick blonde hair, and he was soon standing to began his morning ritual of starting the day. Seraphim Renatus, (or Seraph as he liked to be called), was a rather good-looking and intelligent boy. He excelled in all of his classes, including sports, and was the Student Council President. He was popular not only among the student body but the faculty as well. As he finished tying his tie for his school uniform, Seraph checked his appearance in the mirror one last time before heading downstairs to the car that was waiting for him. Climbing into the large SUV, Seraph got comfortable in back as his driver began the journey to his school, leaving the blonde time to think. He had so many things on his mind and many of those thoughts revolved around his father... Valentine Renatus was a powerful man and one that many did not want to anger, but his father hadn't always been that way. Ever since they had lost Ichirou... Seraph closed his eyes on that thought and let out a sigh. He couldn't think about that right now. Pulling out his phone, the young incubus sent a quick text to his father making sure to remind him to eat.
Feeling the car come to a stop, Seraph got out and began his school day. Sitting at his desk as the teacher started her lecture, the teen looked out the window. School was such a boring routine now and everything came so easily to him. As his day continued, the teen began to think more about how boring things had become and how he could fix that. As he sat down for lunch, some other students were talking about a luxurious slave shop. As Seraph finished his lunch he continued to roll around the idea of that shop. It wasn't like he really needed a slave for anything really... He was more than capable of cooking and cleaning himself, and honestly he really didn't have to do either of those things when he went back to the mansion. He didn't really need a pleasure slave either seeing as anyone was willing to be his partner, but still... something kept telling him that it would make his life a little more interesting. A smirk tugged at his lips as the decision finalized in his mind. He would be going to this slave shop and he would find someone to bring home with him. Chuckling softly at the thought his mind continued to think about what he wanted and only one thought came to mind. Someone who was cute, cuddly, and soft looking. Everything else really didn't matter.
As soon as school ended, Seraph quickly made his way to the waiting car and told the driver where he wanted to go. The man looked rather surprised by the destination, but he didn't argue with his employer's son. The drive to this shop was long and once they arrived, the incubus raised an eyebrow in surprise. This place didn't look like any kind of shop, but maybe that was why it was so popular with the people? As they drove through the estate's gates, Seraph couldn't help but appreciate the landscaping and architecture of the place. The mansion itself looked old and if the information was correct, it was from an old and powerful family. Walking inside and making his way to the Mistress' office, the blonde sat down in front of the large wooden desk and began telling the dark-haired woman what exactly he was looking for. All he got was an all knowing smile and soon she handed him a couple of files to look through. Picking them up, he began searching through each one, emerald eyes scanning each picture and information, but it wasn't until he got to the last one that his interest was finally piqued. His eyes brightened with interest and he felt himself smile as he read over everything. "I'd like to meet him. I'm sure that he is the one." Smiling down at the picture, Seraph was soon lead by a guard to the correct room and after a short knock on the door, the teen was let inside.
The inside of the room was just as beautiful as the rest of the mansion was. Green eyes looked around the room and then finally settled on the bed where he saw a mess of fluffy, blonde curls. Dismissing the guard with a wave of his hand, Seraph moved over to the bed and looked down at the smaller male. The picture didn't do him justice. He was much cuter in person. "Hello there. I hope that I'm not interrupting your nap." Seraph flashed him a princely smile. "I was hoping that we could just talk for a bit and possibly discuss you coming home with me? Is it alright for me to sit here?" Making a gesture to sitting on the edge of the bed, Seraph soon sat down as his bright eyes looked over the smaller form. Oh he was so cute... and he just knew that he would taste so sweet. It almost made him lick his lips. Yes, he was the one that he wanted, and the incubus wasn't going to leave this place unless he was by his side. "My name is Seraph Renatus and I hope that we can become very good friends." Grinning once more, Seraph couldn't help but be excited... normally his body didn't crave anyone (unless he went to long without eating), but something about this little blonde... it made him restless and hungry..
Seraph decided that coming here was indeed a good idea, because he had a feeling that if the other agreed to come home with him, his life would become not only more exciting but much sweeter.
