Stellar Dragon

The plan after they had taken care of the problematic Ayrala dragon and her pack was to do a bit of camping, as well as a bit more in the way of training, before heading for home. The rides on the ship weren't all that bad, not the way that Merikh traveled, which was in the best cabin on the ship aside from the one that belonged to the captain. It was a touch crowded with everyone that was in the room other then Merikh himself, but luckily for everyone involved he liked his various followers. They were his after all, people that served him during the war against the Mara, and continued to follow him even after it was over. No reason to be upset over being in close proximity to the people that helped him to fend off the Mara and protect the capital after all.

Their plan, which was to take the ship straight on to Soudul, was interrupted though, much to Merikh's displeasure. They were going to have a stop over in Eowyn, one that would last an entire day, while the ship dropped off passengers and delivered some things while also taking on supplies and new passengers. It was a bit of a pain given that he didn't want to spend too much time away from home, not when he knew his mothers were likely worried over the idea of him going to Ayr. He'd been injured severely there once upon a time ago and he knew they were likely thinking about that incident and that incident alone when he said that he would be going to Ayr. Even though the pair knew that he would be bringing his entourage with him he still knew they were worried, it was just what mothers did. The sooner they got back the better, if only to show his mothers that not a single one of the group members had gotten hurt during the process of Ayrala hunting.

With their plans disrupted Merikh had decided that they couldn't waste time just sitting around, that a full day would be more then enough to go about something else, something more interesting, that being finding some Kiandri dragons for Patreen to try this luck against. He'd done pretty well against the Ayrala's and he felt that with some pointers and some back up that he would do just as well against the thunder dragons that roamed around through the sands of Eowyn. He sent the twins, along with Igone, to the inn to get them the biggest room that they could find, wanting a comfortable place for them to rest up for the night so that they could be ready to go when the ship was ready to go. Merikh would be going out into the desert with Yolana and Patreen, the former of which never left his side and the latter being the one that they were trying to get the maximum amount of training that the day would allow.

"Reeny, I would have you stay close to use, alright? The plan is to go after the Kiandri dragons, to see if we can get you a few of their orbs to add to your collection, but there are other dragons out here, ones that are far more dangerous." He told the boy that was walking between Merikh and Yolana, giving him a smile, "I would rather that you didn't have to deal with anything that you aren't ready for, the Gaili especially." He lifted a hand, ruffling Patreen's hair in a manner that showed that he rather liked the kid. He couldn't say that he really had any feelings about kids one way or another before this moment. He knew that eventually he'd need an heir, but other then that he never really considered them much, but Reeny, he was different, likely because of who and what he was. An assassin that was his, one that he and Yolana, as well as the others, would be helping to train into a dangers and deadly wonder.

Coming to a halt he moved his hand, letting it come to hover before Patreen before he motioned, "There we go, a nice pair of Kiandri are waiting for us. Are you ready, Reeny? Yoyo?" He asked, looking over to the pair to get their confirmation as he drew his sword.

The trip on the boat back was interesting. Patreen found himself sleeping most of it due to his adrenaline rush he had during the fight taking a lot out of him. While he slept however the child would somehow cling to Merikh’s side and wake up half on the warrior's chest. Those moments would warrant the others a flushed looking Patreen as the child pretty much freaked. After being placated he would reflect on his experience. It was interesting. The fight with that pack had opened up Patreen’s will for further training. After a few days of asking the group he got a chance with the twins.

That had been fun Patreen had gotten a taste of a higher level of fighting. He took a few licks, but nothing cuddling from Iggy couldn’t fix. Overall the training had shown the young assassin that he had a ways to go. Currently the child was walking between his Mentor and his Master. Feeling his Master ruffle his hair Patreen smiled brightly. “Yes Master.”

He looked at the two dragons. “Mhm. Lets do this!” He flexed his new claws.

Merikh gave a smile, pleased to see his little assassin in training was eager to get into battle. He'd been worried that his first battle against dragons, the one against the Ysali, might have tainted his desires to fight. He had proved himself against the Ayrala though and seemed to be quite eager to do the same when it came to the pair of Kiandri. It was a good thing, something that pleased him like nothing else, "Alright, then we will get in their and take care of them. Yoyo, you will play back up for now since we are here getting Reeny here some battle practice. If it starts to look like things are getting out of hand though feel free to jump in, alright?"

Yolana gave a nod of her head, giving Patreen a pat on the back as well as a nod before she took a couple steps back. She drew her knives, but waited, allowing the two of them to go on ahead without her. She was good at this part, holding back and waiting while Merikh dealt with the dragons. Only now it was Patreen that would be doing so as well, giving her two people to look after. Sure, she was hired on to look after Merikh exclusively and, if the dire situation arose she'd save him first, but that didn't mean that she wanted to leave Patreen on his own. No, she'd be there for him as well, to make sure he got stronger for Merikh's sake as well as his own.

After Yolana had taken up her stance, guarding their backs, Merikh started forward with Reeny, "Alright, I will ask that this time around you go for any weak spots, Reeny. The wings, the eyes, the throats, things like that. Anything that looks soft and squishy is your target, alright? We want to weaken them, make them easier to finish off, and, if possible unable to take flight." Just as he was finishing giving his orders to his young assassin in training the Kiandri seemed to notice them, turning around to face them, teeth barred, before both of them roared in unison. It was a roar that was one of warning, telling the two Oblivionites that they should back off and go the other way, not something that Merikh was about to do though. As if a pair of dragons were going to chase him off.

The child listened. Facing the two dragons as he studied them. The Wings his eyes blinking as he watched the thin flimsy looking things flap once in their apparent settling, their eyes large golden orbs which the child could see age and wisdom in and their throat bared only when he watched one raise their head to look skyward...squishy parts those were easy. Right?

“Understood, Master.” he said, glancing up to Yolana when he felt the pat. He knew the female had his back and would support him in her own way. Master came first tho. This he knew, there was no way he’d allow Yolana to aid him before their Master if the dragons proved too much. Was he ready to die? Not...really. He was still young and had plenty ahead of him. Though, training instilled in him that his End was at his Master’s side. There was no changing that. If things took that turn. He would not hesitate to lay his life down for his Master’s sake. Watching her take up her stance he felt that one day he’d be on her level. That he was sure of. That...he could not wait to achieve.

Though right now...he had a few dragons to put in their place. As the creature let out a mighty warning roar, Patreen saw another weak point. The Mouth itself. That was a large, difficult and placed on the “Last Resort” attack list in the child’s mind. The creatures were in the same scheme of colors., but both held unique traits only to themselves. One had a larger head, maybe a bigger ego from what the child observed as it took a step forward to add to the intimidation factor. Patreen quirked an eyebrow under his mask, didn’t this dragon understand that it was doomed. Oh well. It wasn’t up to him to warn the creature of its imminent demise. Just up to him to be the reaper. Did he feel bad for thinking this?

Not. Really.

Patreen was more focused on laying down the hierarchy with these two rather than, who was right and who was wrong. Maybe the wrong mindset going into this, but what do you expect from a cocky kid? Patreen looked to his Master before speaking. ‘Master, may I be allowed to attack first?”

Merikh walked toward the dragon, sword drawn, with Reeny at his side. He heard what he was saying, asking if he would be able to attack first, something that made him give a little smile, "I don't see why not. You can take the first crack at them, but know that Yoyo and I will both finish them off if they think to try to hurt you. You're still in training and you're mine, Reeny, I won't lose you so quickly and easily." He was a possessive sort, didn't want to lose the people that he felt were 'his'. Patreen was amongst them, as were the twins, Igone, and of course Yolana, all of those that he traveled with were his and he wanted to protect them.

Taking his sword in both hands he shifted into a ready position, allowing Reeny to go first, watching him closely, before he said, "You can do this, Reeny." He said, giving him a grin, waiting for him to make his move... when a shadow suddenly crossed between where Merikh was standing and where Patreen was at the moment. He watched the shadow for a moment, following it's path as it circled around them, before he turned his attention to where the creature was located, flying overhead. He blinked a couple times, then sighed a bit, "Damn it." A Firani? Here? Well, things could never be simple, could they? Here he'd thought that they would get a simple battle against a couple of Kiandri but that wasn't meant to be? No matter, this would merely allow Reeny to see some of the other dragons that roamed the area.

Not to mention it would allow him to have a Firani orb to add to his collection, they were quite lovely after all. Looking back to Patreen he called out to him, "We have another dragon incoming, Reeny! A Firani!" He warned the boy before calling out, "I will deal with it, you take care of the Kiandri! Yoyo, back him up if he needs it!" Turning he faced the big, red dragon as it came crashing down into the sands before them. He knew that its eyes were on Patreen, something that he didn't like the look of. Likely because he was so small, he looked weaker, so the dragon would think to prey on him first. Giving a hiss Merikh charged forward, "Yoyo! His eyes!" He called out to the female assassin, waiting for her knives to fly before launching his first attack.

The child heard his Master and blushing all the way to his ears at the male’s straightforward words he nodded cutely. Well. That was something he was not expecting out of the other male. It was nothing, the child told himself, merely his Master showing just how dominating he was in battle. Patreen did indeed consider himself a belonging to his Master, but the child didn’t feel that he deserved to remain at the other male’s side unless he took out these Kinandri. Blinking as he saw the shadow the child took his eyes off the two before him. Noting how the smaller of the two golden dragons cowered while the bigger puffed itself up.

He watched the red dragon before nodding. “Yes Master.” he smiled beneath his mask. His Master rooted for him. He heard the words of encouragement. The child knowing that Merikh and Yolana had the red brute behind him. He leaned slightly forward before leaping at the other two. Reminding himself. The Wings the thin flimsy looking things which flapped now in their surprise, their eyes large golden orbs which the child kept a lock on to track their course and their throat hidden now by their scales. The child got the speed advantage early and sliding under the bigger dragon he lashed out seeing a tender spot by its front foot.

Hearing the roar he quickly got out from under the dragon, grabbing the flailing wing and tearing into it. He leaped up to the creature's shoulder and went for the now bared throat as the beast’s head was tossed back in its sudden pain. Tearing a line clear across from one side, using his momentum to swing to the other side. He landed lightly as the dragon fell dead. He looked up to the smaller dragon. The creature hissing as it bristled. Reminding the youth of a cornered Magbit he narrowed his eyes.

Taking off toward the smaller one he was shocked as it knocked him skyward. Feeling weightless for a few moments the child let out a cry. In his excitement and overconfidence he wasn’t checking his speed. Now he was caught off guard and vulnerable….

The moment that Yolana's knives buried themselves into the eyes of the Firani dragon he was on the creature, his swing in a wide arc, easily slicing through the vulnerable throat of the dragon. It gave a gurgling sound as it tried to roar at him, it's tail lashing, forefeet clawing at the ground, trying to sound intimidating... though the more it flailed about the more blood it lost. Merikh wasn't even paying the creature any mind anymore, it was dead already, it just didn't know it yet. Let it flail about.

He turned as he heard the cry from his assassin in training, watching as he flew through the air from the lightning blast, and instantly he was on the move. With a flap of his wings he launched himself forward, catching Reeny in one of his arms, and used the other to swing his sword, lopping off the head of the Kiandri that had dared to harm 'his' Reeny. The dragon collapsed to the ground, crumbling away as the first Kiandri did, and a moment later the Firani followed. Three dragons found, battled with, and defeated, their orbs up for grabs. He looked down at the one in his arms before he gave a smile, "You did well, Reeny, though I think that we need to get you a bit more training with the group."

Lifting a hand he straightened out the boy's mask, looking over to Yolana who had gathered up the various dragon orbs, putting them in her pack for safe keeping. He gave her a nod then said, "Come on, lets get him back to the others, Iggy can look him over."
