You slow down as you reach the end of the corridor. It simply forces you to slow down, strange, hollow words echoing at you. It creates a madness within you, and you feel your grip on reality slowly disappearing. You hear voices, of people you know, familiar to you, mocking you. You begin to see shapes of people that aren't actually there.

A shadow eventually confronts you. It looks like your beloved one, it looks like someone you bonded with recently, or it simply looks like a blurred form of someone you forgot. It begins to mock you. It mocks you with your failures, tells you you are responsible for the Great Knight's deaths. It predicts and shows you a future in which you die.

The apparition fades, but the paranoia is still there. As you progress to the end, you come across the strangest sight yet.

It is Galahad.

It is Galahad but he looks horrific, gaunt and hollow and thin. Considering you only saw him a while back, it is strange how inhuman he now looks, as if something was sucking the life out of him. He is seated in a throne made of spiraling black crystals, and in his hands is a grail. He probably is not even aware where he is.

"You have come," he says, and his eyes are glossy, it is obvious he thinks you are someone else, "you have come to taste knowledge." There is water in the grail, dark black water, and he extends it towards you. "Come, drink with me. Let us both perish in madness."

OOC

VERSUS GALAHAD

You must make a quick rp post first responding to this prompt. As you push along the corridor, you start to feel like you are losing your mind. A loved one reaches out to you (it can be someone post memory wipe, but if it is someone pre memory wipe their form is blotted out) and they accuse you of killing them and failing others and eventually failing yourself. As you fall to despair and they convince you to join them in death you finally snap out of it and reach the end to see Galahad. Now, you can make a few choices, and rp things out however you wish. Please note, you only have to do this prompt ONCE. Once you've done it, you don't have to do it again!

gaia_star [ Fighting Galahad ] Whomever gave him the grail (or if he found it himself) had obviously no good intentions. The man is seriously dying. You can try to put him out of his misery by attacking him. Did he really just issue out your death warrant not even a day ago? Who could have done this to him or what? Galahad has 50/50 HP. Please post it in bold red at the top of your post his HP. If he reaches zero HE WILL DIE. You can EITHER attack OR defend three times per day. You take 5 auto damage per attack! You take no auto damage if you are defending.

gaia_star [ Defending Galahad ] You can choose to defend Galahad. Roll your usual attack dice, but mark it as defense. ADD to his HP at the top of the post in BOLD RED. You can EITHER attack OR defend three times per day.

gaia_star [ Drinking from the Grail ] You can drink from the grail. This will literally cause you to writhe on the ground in agony. You will be unable to see for the next 1 IC hour (2 OOC hours). Your character will be reduced to 1d4 dice. During that time they will also succumb to a terrible madness and greed. They will try to take everything they see and claim it as their own.

gaia_star [ Trying to take the Grail ] It is stuck in Galahad's hands. You can't even prey it off.

gaia_star [ You may also stay in this thread ] and RP with each other. Feel free to break off into [ PRP ] to discuss matters. You can also write a solo in your JOURNALS reflecting on what has happened. All of these will count towards gaining another sacred card as long as you post over 300 words!

gaia_star [ When you are done with this thread ] you can EXIT and go to these two threads:
- CORRIDOR OF FIRE
- CORRIDOR OF SHADOWS

If you have anything that you'd like to revisit, you can come back here too!

Stepping forward, Marosa gritted her teeth and clenched her fists, finding that she was actually the first one here.

Galahad.

The knight who had ordered her death - a bunch of people's deaths - and not even batted an eyelash. Not even turned around when profanities were screamed at him from other cells.

He. Just. Kept. Walking.

And now, he sat, devoid of any other delights but madness, in his throne of lies, throne of whatever he felt he was in...

Marosa stared at him freely, her mouth twisting down into a vicious snarl.

No, his actions may not have been entirely his own, but he still did them... and for that, she was going to put him out of his misery. A part of her felt sad that he was this far gone, but she was too angry to feel much of anything else.

The redhead didn't want to share or partake of any of his drink in the grail, and she couldn't think of any reason why anyone else would.

She stepped forward, taking a moment to weigh her options. Would she attack, or would she wait?

She was tempted to wait...

[Enter!]

For some reason, he wasn't able to run anymore. He slowed down to a walk, whimpering at the strange sounds he could hear. He knew these voices...he was sure of it! In fact, couldn't he hear Yuki and Riley? They were saying cruel things to him, and as he stared down the corridor he could make out a blurred figure of...was it Riley??

Jason knew it wasn't them, considering he had just spoken to them a few moments ago. But his mind felt unhinged, as if he couldn't control his thoughts, and he felt the anxiety and fear in him rise.

Still he pressed on, ignoring everything until he reached the end.

He gasped at the sight of his sworn knight, a hollow shell of what he had been merely days before. Though it hurt to see them like this, he couldn't forget how he had ordered everyone to be killed.

But even so, he couldn't just leave him there...

"What has happened to you?" He whispered, glancing at the other person whom was here as he stepped closer, eying the cup given to him with contempt. He wasn't stupid. "Get rid of that vile poison!"

He tried to wrench it from Galahads grasp, but found it wouldn't budge For a man on the brink of death, he sure was strong...

Koray felt sluggish...he knew he hadn't eaten in a while and now his body was starting to remind him. Panting he shook his head. Leaned on the wall and heaved. Things were spinning. Shadows were talking. This wasn't good. He wasn't thinking straight. As he kept going the youth froze...Efe. Efe was standing at the end of the corridor his expression grim.

"You...failed. You were suppose to bring us honor. Koray...why did you aid in their deaths. You did nothing! You stood there and smacked your head on the wall? What is wrong with you? Your pathetic!"

"Noooo. Efe. Please. I tried..I swear I did...please. Stop saying those things. Please." Koray held his head as he felt the emotional wounds form...

"You won't survive this. Koray. I see you standing here with me soon. You won't have to worry. Mother and Father are here too...we're all waiting..." Efe's tone seemed to soften and change to comfort. Koray shook as he wobbled past the other and panted walking further.

He stopped short coming up to.

Galahad.

What the ever loving....oh he just knew these walls would become familiar to him today. Sighing he picked up a rock...whelp. Time to knock some sense into him....

Yup he was gunna kill another Great Knight. Not that the guy had it coming for order the deaths of over 50 people...nope. This was for his own good. He was knocking on Death's Door anyways. Koray was just going to push him on through...

Koray just half heartedly tossed a rock at Galahad. It bounced off the Knight foot...well...better than nothing...rubbing his head he decided maybe to go get his staff. Where the heck could it be? He walked down the way he came...hoping maybe taking one of the other ones would work....

As Trisha walked, she heard voices; her mother, her father. They spoke to her from the darkness.

'You will die.' they whispered. 'You were always meant to die.'

Trisha remembered them just barely from her memory and a part of her said they would never say these things. another knew these things to be true.

And then her Grandmother. Her dear old sweet grandmother showed up, a vision before her. 'It's your fault they are dead.' Trisha was so shocked she stopped where she was. 'It will be your fault Sir Lancelot dies, it is your fault they all will die. You did nothing to protect them. You can't do anything to protect them. You can't even protect them from themselves.' Trisha stopped dead, tears flowing from her glassy eyes. Dead, they were all dead, unless she could do something, something about it. But what?

'You know what.'

the vision faded and she pressed on only to find Galahad, their oppressor. but at the moment he looked sick, less like an oppressor and more like a man fallen to madness. A king long pass retirement.

There was only one thing to do she realized. Only one thing. "I'm sorry sir Lancelot, I have to disobey you." She had to help Sir Galahad after all.

[ Estel - ENTER ]

Perhaps the corridor was growing longer... or perhaps Estel was slowing down. She could hear voices echoing in her ears.

"You're one of them..."

Was that Riley's voice? Estel turned, looking over her shoulder, but no one was there. "Hello?" Estel called. She was alone - how had she lost all the others she had been with?

"You should have stayed to be executed..." That was the voice of the girl she had been in the cell with only a few minutes ago, Nkosazana. Or had it only been a few minutes? It felt like it had been days... that was ridiculous; she couldn't have been walking for that long.

Estel closed her eyes, putting one hand on the wall of the corridor and walking steadily forward.

A voice spoke from directly in front of her. "You're weak."

Estel opened her eyes, blinking. "Shun, there you are...!"

Shun stood in the center of the corridor, blocking her path. "I didn't come back for you," he said. There was something strange about his eyes, but it could have just been the dim lighting in the corridor. "We're not friends. I'm not your protector. The way you follow me around like a child - it's pathetic. I don't need you."

"You're bleeding." Blood matted his hair, dripping down the side of his face and his neck. Estel took a half-step forward. "Here, let me--"

"Where were you?" he demanded, his voice echoing loudly. "Galahad struck me down, and where were you to stop him? You're a sidhe... you've been a sidhe all along. If I'm going to die... I'm taking you out with me!"

Estel flinched away, throwing a hand over her eyes, waiting for the strike - but none came. She opened her eyes: Shun was gone. Most likely, he had never been there at all. There were a few knights there, and... Galahad?

"He's lost his mind," Estel whispered. Lancelot's words rang in her head. She had to find Lancelot. They were running out of Great Knights she could trust, but surely Lancelot would listen to reason...

Estel turned and fled back down the corridor the way she came.

He found himself in another corridor, but unlike the previous this one was completely empty of any object or creature. There were only words that seemed to bounce off the walls and surround him in a thick blanket of frustrating noise. TK furrowed his brows, one hand reaching up to lightly cover one ear as shadowed figures began to step toward him. He tried to take a step back.

“Oh, my sweet boy,” someone called out to him, and although he tried to discern their form, he could not. Just trying only gave him more of a headache. “If only you had done more.”

“You are nothing more than a chess piece, a supporting prop.”

“You try to act so big, but in the end you’ll live and die as nothing.”

Laughter bounced off the walls as they seemed to lovingly wrap their arms around TK before dissipating into nothingness. As the flecks of shadow disappeared from his sight, there was only an echo of Galahad left.

Suddenly he straightened his back, the annoyance and fear melted away. There was only pity in his narrowed eyes, but perhaps there was also a glow of selfish satisfaction.

“I do seek knowledge,” he agreed. He reached out to try and gently pry the grail from the knight’s hands, but found it stuck. Oh well. TK let go without a fight. “But I know better than to fall into madness.” His smile was polite, but mocking as well as he turned around to leave.

This corridor was not as interesting as the last. There was absolutely nothing here, with very little light for Wilson to work with. He stumbled through the darkness a couple times before he crashed into the wall. It appeared he had encountered the very end of this tunnel, and had yet to see a single person or obstacle to interact with.

He brought a hand up to examine the wall for any secret openings, but found none. It was just a dead end. The knight turned around to head toward another corridor, but found himself face-to-face with a blurred out figure. Actually, it was two blurred out figures the size of children. Wilson stiffened and stepped backwards, his back pressed to the wall. He could see the finely-made clothes the children wore, but their faces were completely scribbled out.

“You’ve always been like this, you know?” He recognized the boy’s voice, but could not remember his name or face.

The girl punched the boy in the shoulders. “Stop it! Wilson is just really delicate. We have to protect him you know?”

Because he’s so useless,” they chorused together.

He tried to shrink back further as they continued to repeat it over and over. Eventually he just pushed them away, the shadows breaking apart to reveal Galahad.

“S-Sir…?”

His gaze flickered to the grail and for a moment he reached out for it, and then fearfully pulled back. “No.”

[Rei Enters!]

Running away from the ominous revelation made by the Tainted left eye, Rei blazed through the tunnel which is dimly lit by fire, nearly toppling down several knights in progress. He took a left turn, entering the corridor lit by pale, flickering bluish light, just like at the lake where he got his weapon.

As he entered the corridor, slowly the walls around him melted, and various visions entered his mind. Somebody extended their arm to his head, seemingly gestured a pat, but no, they yanked his hair off while yelling 'WHAT ABOUT YOUR PROMISE? YOU'RE A KNIGHT NOW YET YOU HAVEN'T SAVED ANYONE'. Another shadow appeared as the first popped, saying 'LOOK AT YOU. PATHETIC. YOU TOOK ACTIONS OF YOUR OWN AND KILLED SO MANY KNIGHTS.'

"No! I don't know you guys! Stay out of my mind!"

'BUT YOU DO KNOW ME, DO YOU?' Another sound boomed in his head; a familiar voice that should be never can be heard again. He jerked back his head in surprise, seeing a Great Knight with tattered---no, SPLATTERED body reaching up to him. Percival.

'YOU KILLED ME. YOU, WHO HAS TAKEN THE OATH TO PROTECT---INSTEAD YOU TOOK US BY SURPRISE AND LEAD US TO MASSACRE. DID IT FEEL GOOD, TAINTED ONE?'

"NO! I wasn't planning anything like that! It was only a mistake!"

'MISTAKES SHOULD NOT KILL ANYONE EXCEPT THE ONE WHO MADE IT.' Another sound echoed. It seems he has heard the voice before, but yet can't remember whose is it. 'PAY THE PRICE OF YOUR SIN. KILL YOURSELF AND OFFER US ABSOLUTION'

"NO! WHY SHOULD I-" 'COWARD. YOU TOOK SO MANY LIVES WITH YOUR ACTION BUT WILL NOT SACRIFICE YOURSELF FOR ATONING?' Said Percival again.

And that's the point he realized. There's no way Percival would say something so rude---so undignified and so not suit his character.

Blowing out a heavy breath, Rei slowly raised his right hand to reach Shinonome's hilt, while his left hand again removed the eyepatch from place. While it was strange that the Tainted eye did not react to this, he remembered that earlier in the other path it did not react to the fire, either.

All he can see with the red-colored eye was figures made of white smoke, swaying around as it were going to fade with the slightest wind. Rei pulled the nodachi out of its scabbard and swung it lightly, cleaving the image into two. "Begone. Do even try to sully my memory of him." he said, returning the sword into its resting place.

The corridor returned to what it was...but at the end of the path he can hear some yelling and sound of-battle?

He ran into the large room, and skidded to stop, trying to digest what he saw.

Galahad. But unlike the figure whom he met in the courtyard, he won't even believe it's not another person altogether. His figure does not even seem alive---it's like someone who died of malnutrition.

He welcomed Rei and offered him something---wait a minute. Wait a DARN minute.

What's that cup doing here?

"Galahad, sir. Please, snap back. Put that cup away, and we'll try our best to return you into full health."

But he didn't budge, and drank another mouthful of the black, vile liquid.

"-otherwise we'll have no choice but to CHOP YOUR HAND OFF. Better live with one hand than go into hell with two." Rei said again, readying his weapon.

Please. Don't make me add anymore sin to mine...!

They had been matching each other's pace since they left the fiery corridor that once held their weapons, hand in hand, but she felt herself begin to slow without any prompting from him. It did seem that he had too, unless she was imagining it; they didn't break away from each other regardless, so she felt confident that she must still have been by his side, mirroring his motions, still firm in her place as his equal-yet-opposite reflection.

That was what it meant to belong, she'd determined. It had little to do with place or time, as all of that felt incomparable against the comfort and reaffirmation of seeing and touching and holding one's counterpart. Nothing belonged as well together as day and night, a heavenly match in their endless dance across the skies, each refusing to let the other go within dawn and twilight. They were light and dark, certainly, and some would likely have argued that the two encompassed separate worlds, living in constant avoidance of each other, but she knew better. She knew that they needed each other, and that the day and the night proved it themselves - it was the day's own sun who cast shadows, welcoming night into its domain, and the night who collected the day's light, proudly displaying every bit of it in the moon and the stars.

It was this thought that allowed her to pass so easily into the realm of willful delusions she fostered and encouraged around her, and she paid no notice to this shift in reality, which was hardly a shift at all. And it was with her confidence in this thought that she met the face of a shadow, so impossibly familiar for someone she didn't know.

Even within the blurred, shadowed form there was a faint recognition, a hint of similarities that might be shared between sisters. Mildred stared at her curiously, wondering how such a thing could be feasible when she felt so certain she'd grown up alone.

"You abandoned us," it whispered. "You ran away and left us alone. It's your fault. They're all dead. Did you know that? They're all dead. Do you care? Do you even rem--"

"I do not know you," Mildred finally concluded, the tone of her interjection flat and cold. "If I ran away, it most certainly is not my fault. I would not run away without reason. This is, however, irrelevant - I am quite content where I am now, with whom I am now. But I suppose you would not care about such things would you, whoever you are? That I have a husband--look! A husband! He is a wonderful husband. See? I do not want to run away from him."

But if the familiar stranger could have cared, it could not have seen; it was gone in the next instant, shifting and fading away into whatever realm of irrelevance it came from. She regarded the absent space it had once stood in with the same curious look she'd given its presence, blinked slowly, and turned to look at Robert.

"Do you know who that was?" There was a chance he might have been able to fill in blanks that she'd been missing, if his differing perspective allowed for it.
