As you split and take the left most exit, you reach the corridor of fire. The walls are lit steadily by rows and rows of torches, though as you walk further and further you begin to see more red butterflies accumulate.
At the far end, a cluster of butterflies seem to be rested against rows and rows of weapons. It seems you have found the weapons that were stashed away and then some.
To those who bear the mark of the Sidhe Queen, she appears, simply a silhouette formed by thousands of fluttering butterflies.
"Only those resilient of will could have made it this far, I commend you for your actions," the mark on your arm burns, and you feel even more drawn to her. It is like listening to someone say something you absolutely agree with and have no willpower to disagree at all. She is your Queen and you must serve.
"Now, there is one last task for you to complete. You see, I have a rather unforgiving son. He has been very, very bad. And while I would like to deal with him myself, I still have some other matters to attend do with someone greater. Prove yourselves. Behind me I have fashioned his greatest weakness. Defeat him, and I will seal his fate. I want him to lie in his own betrayal forever."
For those who did not bear the mark, you hear a vague humming, but it means nothing to you. As some of the butterflies part, you see a very large casket. It is wide open, but there is nobody within it. The mass of butterflies floating around it make it hard to approach it too closely.

CORRIDOR OF FIRE
- To retrieve your weapon, you must make a quick rp post first responding to this prompt. You see your weapon burning in what seems like flames. It hurts to reach it, and at the same time, you can't help but feel it calling to you, even if it is not sacred. It is yours. That is enough. You reach through the flames, and your skin burns and you feel everything peel and crackle-
- But when you take it out you are fine. It was just an illusion to ward off thieves. (You only need to do this solo once, if you are returning, ignore this solo)
gaia_star[ You may also stay in this thread ] and RP with each other. Feel free to break off into [ PRP ] to discuss matters. You can also write a solo in your JOURNALS reflecting on what has happened. All of these will count towards gaining another sacred card as long as you post over 300 words!
If you have anything that you'd like to revisit, you can come back here too!

Shun's advance slowed as he made his way down the hall. It wasn't long before he spotted the cache of knight's weapons all lying against the wall. Once he realized this, he scanned the rows for his own. Before too long, he spotted Penumbra resting under one of the torches. He immediately went for it, reaching out to take what was his. However, as he came closer, it appeared that the two katar were on fire. Somehow.
Pausing, he looked around, but there wasn't really anything to douse the flames. Looking down at his hands, he soon turned his attention back to Penumbra and steeled himself. The knight reached for the blades, feeling the heat searing against his flesh. He hissed in pain, not letting that thwart him from reclaiming what was his.
Granted, he might not be able to use them too well after this.
Once he had a hold of the katar, the flames and pain were gone. Just like that. He straightened up and looked over both the blades and his hands. He was completely unharmed. A trick, then.
"Che..." he lightly scoffed. Warily, he eyed the butterflies floating around the area. Her presence, perhaps. He didn't trust them. He should go.

[ Estel - ENTERING ]
"Ugh, they're covered in..." Estel frowned, ignoring the humming as she made her way forward. "...what is this?"
Her eyes locked on one of the weapons - an intricate quarterstaff, silvery-white, imprinted with patterns of vines, and still chained.
"Leila," Estel whispered, and ran for it. It wasn't perhaps the smartest thing she had ever done, plunging her hand into the flames, but as her fingers closed around the grip, the pain and the fire vanished. Estel blinked, pulling her quarterstaff away. "Magic...?"
She stepped back, calling to the others. "It's all right! The fire isn't real!"

Seeing as Chel's instincts were to regain her weapons as quickly as possible (running around Camelot without her resonant claymore? No thanks), she was naturally drawn to the wall of fire sporting the weapons. It took her a bit between the heat and fear, but she eventually steeled herself enough face them properly. Once she'd located her own sword (oh he was so beautiful- she missed you so much).
The wall hummed, but all was silent in Chel's mind. She didn't want to stick her hand in fire though.
She tried throwing rocks. She tried blowing the flames out, using dirty, anything. None of it worked. Eventually she resorted to using her scarf as a sort of pulley. It was only when the scarf didn't burn that she realized she wasn't looking at real flames. That gave her enough confidence to stick her hand in properly and recover her sword.
Something whispered in the back of her mind, but nothing came of it. Something dark, something with teeth. It passed.

Shun turned towards the others.
"I do not think this is the way out... one of the other two passageways must be it. The time for our execution is running close, so Galahad is likely near. If he is, I can only hope that Mordred is around as well. That little b*****d will pay for the lies he has woven into the other Great Knight's mind."

[Rei Enters!] As he entered the corridor lit by the flickering flames from countless torches (actually it is not, only he is too lazy to count them), he is welcomed by some other knights that has gotten here first. As he looked around he can see some things, including a literal clump of red butterfly. Behind them was some weapons...
-does that mean, his' is here too?
He ignored the vague humming on his ears and the squirming butterflies, seeking around for the familiar sight of the jeweled hilt-guard. And yes, he found it---wreathed by deep red flames.
He can almost hear it screaming, telling him to take it out from said flames.
Rei reached to the nodachi without waiting another tick to pass, but retreated his hand before he can reach the weapon; it burns!
One knight, that has reclaimed her weapon told him that the flame wasn't even real, it's Magic designed to keep unworthy people away.
"Unworthy?" He asked to the flames and the nodachi. Again, he felt the weapon calls to him. The one she's betrothed with.
He reaches into the flame again, ignoring the feeling that his hand has been burned to crisp---to bone.
As he touched the weapon, the pain dissipated to nothing in an instant. He quickly unsheathed the blade, expecting damage on the edge from rough handling, yet there seems to be nothing.
Huffing with relief, he mounted the large-yet-somehow light blade to his back.
-and looked to the seemingly empty coffin. The mass of butterflies seems to repel anyone coming close to investigate, but he has other ways...
Ignoring the pain stabbing deep into his Tainted eye, Rei took off the eyepatch and looked straight to the empty coffin.
"Is that..." But he kept what he saw for himself. So many questions emerged inside his head...
Morgana, why?
He quietly left the room before anyone can realize his pallor has turned ghastly.
"I need an adult." he muttered. [EXIT!]

Running full sprint through the secret corridor Pokerus kept her eyes open and ready to face anyone who dared get in her way. It wouldn't surprise her to see a guard or a shadowling down here. But even if she liked to punch things, she needed the strength of her sword, her sacred weapon. But knowing it had been taken from her she had no idea how she was going to get it back. Most likely beat up a bunch of people.
There was also the issue of finding Lancelot. Talking to Sir Galahad didn't seem like a appareling proposition, as she'd probably be thrown back into jail (with a few extra bruises for her trouble) No, Sir Lancelot said to find him if something happened, and that was what she intended to do. But first she had to get out of here, and somehow get out of the castle and find him when she had no idea where he was. This was gonna be difficult.
As she continued to run she began to notice some strange. Butterflies. Red ones to be exact. They were fluttering around her, hanging on the walls, crawling on the ceiling. Why would butterflies be down here?
Looking ahead she saw a large cluster of them accumulate around something, and once she got closer she realized it were weapons. Although instead of being enchanting and cool like the pool in the cavern it was just covered in butterflies.
With a frown she look through them all until she found the one she needed. Her Fendriel, enveloped in red flames. Without hesitation she reached for it then flinched, flames eating at her skin, but she didn't care. She needed her sword heedless of the pain.
Pulling it out, she looked over her hand and realized it was unharmed. Strange.

Running for the exit left Robert feeling a little winded, but he would never claim that to be because of the woman he carried in his arms. The dungeon damaged his lungs, that was all. He was sure of it.
He slowed when he caught the sight of butterflies hovering around their weapons, and slowly set her down onto the ground. A finger went in his ear to shake out the humming sound that was bothering him.
"Our weapons!" He yelled as he caught sight of both of their weapons, resting against one another on the ground. They were still covered by butterflies, but he could still tell they were theres.
Reaching out to try and pick up his sword was an initial failure. The burn of fire made his hand sizzle, and he pulled it back in surprise. "Ahh, that's unfortunate." He whined, blowing on his hand to cool it down.

Once the dungeon was behind him, he ran as fast as his aching body and the speed of Riley's following would let him. He'd looked back several times, when dim light permitted, to make sure she wasn't struggling to keep up and to look for Jason. Thankfully, the other man had caught up to them and Yuki was reaching for him too, like he was afraid that if he didn't keep contact with them that he was going to lose one or both of them again.
When the corridor abruptly branched off, he slowed and paused to catch his breath and think. Only then did he seem comfortable without a firm grip on his friends.
"Are you two alright?" He asked, between pulls of breath. "Are either of you hurt?"
And his rest was brief, as he felt unease toward one of the corridors... And yet, conflicting it, something called to him there and he sensed that he had to follow it.
"Jason, do you feel that?" Yuki asked, slowly making his way into the corridor and hoping they would follow. It was the way his weapon had called to him in the cavern in the castle, but it wasn't the only thing he sensed.
The other thing he sensed made him tremble... But he had to retrieve Darius.

[Entering - Riley]
Running was not something Riley did very well. She often tripped over her own dress, and she stumbled when she hesitated. She wasn't running alone, this time - and she struggled to keep her mistakes to a minimum, in order to keep Yuki and Jason safe from her own clumsiness. Yuki had grabbed onto Jason in the meantime, and they were running for their lives, down corridors that led to butterflies.
While the boys might have felt their weapons calling to them, Riley felt nothing - she saw the danger present within, however, and her running slowed until she was tugging them back towards her in warning.
"Don't let the butterflies touch you." She pleaded to both of them, before letting them go. "And come straight back to me." She sounded sterner than usual - she was tired of losing them.

Compared to Robert's efforts to get them as far away from the dungeon as possible, Mildred had an incredibly effortless journey. She had very nearly fallen asleep within his arms, cradling the shard of mirror as a child might hold a doll, and only stirred when she felt his pace begin to slow.
The sound of a hum from the general vicinity of the largest cluster of butterflies was maddeningly frustrating - she was so certain that she was registering some sort of pattern, some words within the hum, but any time she felt close to clarity, the sound seemed to be just a noise.
It was the sound of Robert's pained reaction to the flames that her attention finally landed upon, however, after startling her out of her thoughts. She reached to gingerly take his hand, and brought it to her lips for a featherlight kiss. As unsanitary a burn remedy as it was, she suspected that this might be more ultimately beneficial and encouraging for him. Her husband.
"We will do this together, and that will allow us to achieve it, as in all things," she assured him, exchanging his dominant hand for the other to allow him the highest possible advantage, before extending her free hand towards the flames, holding it just short of making contact with them. With so many people running in such a short space it was difficult for Jason to keep track of his two friends in the crowd. But he was determined not to get separated again, and he lengthened his strides and caught up with Yuki. As the man reached out for him he reached back, grasping his hand in a tight grip.
He also slowed down a little to allow Riley to keep up with them, reaching out to the girl if she appeared to stumble or asking if she was alright in a breathless tone.
Finally, when they slowed down, Jason was able to catch his breath, leaning against the stone walls and pulling air into his oxygen deprived lungs.
"I...s-should be....asking you that question," Jason wheezed. "You're the one with the injury" As he said this he walked over to the white knight to check his injury for any signs of blood. "You didn't reopen anything did you?" He asked with concern.
The uneasiness in the air was soon felt by him as well, and he glanced down the dark passageway with a frown. He could also hear his weapon call to him, and was thankful it was close by.
"Yes, I do." He replied, then heard Riley's warning. Of course a butterfly flew near his head, and he ducked out of the way. And continued to do so because there seemed to be a few of them around.

Her kiss made his skin goosebump, and all the pain of the phantom fire disappeared just as she'd hoped. He let her take his hand, but when he realized what she meant to do, he stopped.
"I am, but be quick. It hurts, and every second that you hurt is one that I suffer twice as much for." He slid his hand on top of hers, so that when she reached for her weapon, he would burn just as much as when he reached for his with his free hand. Before she could protest, he muttered a quick; "Ready." And jack knifed their hands forward, grabbing for their weapons with lightning quick precision. He could still feel the agonizing pain of burning flesh, even after the illusion faded. He set his sword back in its sheathe, and rubbed both of his hands against one another.
"Dirty tricks." He muttered under his breath.

Yuki hadn't thought the butterflies as anything frightening, but as soon as Riley mentioned it... The knight looked toward the red winged insects gathered on the walls of the corridor, and nodded slowly. He didn't need to ask why. "Alright."
He wanted to reach out to her again, pull her into a hug and assure her that everything would be fine. Something in the back of his mind told him that it wouldn't be, and for some reason he couldn't quite place he was glad that Riley wasn't going into this corridor with them.
"Please be safe, Riley. If anything happens before we get back... Just run. Run and don't look back."
He looked toward Jason. "The same goes for you."
