Today (Wednesday the 13th of May in the year 2015) Raven was informed that his Dear Friend and Daddy Meower, Ryland, had committed suicide. He was Bisexual but mostly stuck to dating females even though he preferred males. Many things made him depressed and he regularly took antidepressants. We talked almost every day; he cared a lot about others but would always say he felt alone and like no one really cared back. (Raven's Daddy Meower's Favorite Color was green so he made this in Green) He did try to help others just try to make something better fur someone and when it didn't work out he would get really upset -almost heartbroken. Ryland would break down and cry a lot but even when he was really frustrated and angry at someone, Raven could still make him better. Ryland didn't always think the best of himself and often called himself Ugly, or Monster. He wasn't always patient either and he let off on Raven a lot but he always made sure he apologized afterwards. Ryland used to talk about how much life was bad and love was the only thing worth living fur. Many times his perspective would change few days later he would say that Love was completely meaningless. Raven would ask him why he would only date females when he liked Males more; a lot of times he would give a very hateful homophobic answer. Ryland talked about suicide a lot and was pretty openly Emo which pissed off a lot of others. Raven was always being told tha Ryland wasn't serious when he talked about committing suicide, tha Raven shouldn't bother with him and just ignore him because he only wanted the attention. Still, Raven always went out of his way to try and cheer him up. Happy Quotes, cute upbeat sayings and photos, long messages and supporting words. Almost every week Raven would talk him out of suicide, listening to others say tha Ryland wasn't serious he just wanted attention and tha Raven shouldn't feed this attention getting behavior. Things would get bad, and every time he had a break up with a female he would message Raven talking about killing himself, and every time Raven would talk him out of it. Ryland would say how alone he always felt, how he cared fur others but it didn't seem like anyone really cared about him. Raven would say how much he cared about him, and fur a while it would last. Last year Ryland asked tha when he turned 18 if he could come live with Raven or at least visit him in real life and hang out. Raven agreed and even promised to buy him his first legal drink when he turned 21. Ryland didn't admit to smiling very often, and a lot of times he would get upset at himself when he caught himself smiling. Raven told him not to worry because his smile was amazing, which made him smile more. He adopted Raven as his own Son Mewer on Gaia and recognized him as his Son Mewer In Real life as well. Ryland said he was to be the Daddy Meower that Raven never really had- he truly cared even if it was hard fur others to see that. Even when things were bad Ryland would say he was a Bad Daddy Meower to which Raven would remind him he wasn't but that everyone makes Mistakes. Raven promised he would always be there fur his Dear Daddy Meower, no matter how bad things got. We talked yesterday and he seemed fine, as he always was. A Little sad but fur the most part alright. We didn't actually end our conversation in the best way; Ryland fell in love easily and a lot of times he would try to get Raven into incest with him. This particular conversation ended with Raven's rejection of private photographs and getting them anyway. Ryland told Raven tha he loved him and bye as he always did befur logging off Skype. It was a bit surprising seeing the photos and Raven gave a 2 minute delayed response tha did not get received because Ryland logged off. Today (Wednesday the 13th of May in the year 2015) he read up an update on Gaia stating tha Ryland had committed Suicide. In responds he immediately sent a Message to his account on Gaia and a message to his account on Skype. He was met with a response from Ryland's very rude, homophobic Step-Brother who after confirming Ryland's Death, threw in Raven's face how happy he was that he had died. How Ryland was "just another piece of trash" and how he was now in Hell. As hard as it is losing Ryland and as pissed off as Raven is as his Step-Brother; Raven cannot help but feel like it was his own fault tha his Daddy Meower had died. Like he ran out of ways to help his Daddy Meower. Like he didn't try hard enough to prevent his Daddy Meower from committing suicide. Like maybe if Raven didn't reject his Daddy Meower's offer fur those Photographs and not show how much it bothered Raven tha he DID send the Photos even after he said no... maybe he wouldn't have Committed Suicide. A major part of Raven cannot believe tha this has actually happened, tha this is just some cruel joke his Daddy Meower is playing on him to see if Raven really cares. Raven is probably just struggling to come to terms with it all. In denial. Raven has always been an active member of several Anti-Bullying and Suicide Prevention Organizations (In Real Life as well as Online.) It feels as if, somewhere something went wrong and it is his own fault. As if Raven has failed. As if he has ran out of his helpfulness. Raven is very sad and not sure what to do...
R.I.P. Ryland you were the Best Daddy Meower Ever.
RAVEN'S DADDY MEOWER IS ALIVE!!! Today (Wednesday the 20th of May in the year 2015) Raven got a message from his Daddy Meower saying he was back and asking why everyone thought he was Dead. Apparently he was in a Car Accident and stuck in the hospital. Since he couldn't leave he asked his Step Brother (one of his only siblings tha does not have a Gaia Account so his Items and Gold wouldn't be gone when he got back) to go on Gaia and tell everyone he is not dead but won't be online fur a while due to being in the Hospital. So it is nice tha he is not dead or a liar! cat_blaugh It sucks tha he was in the hospital after being in a Car Accident but at least he is alright. His Step Brother is just a massive Dushebag. Raven's Daddy Meower was pretty upset to hear tha everyone thought he was dead though, but tha makes sense.

*hugs* I'm so sorry, Raven. I know it's hard not to ask questions like that when something like this happens, but...it's not your fault. Nothing you could have done would have pushed him to this. You clearly did everything you could to help him, but unfortunately, often it's just not possible to give someone else reasons to live. He had demons that nobody could chase away.
I'm going to light candles for Theo and my dad today. I'll light one for Ryland, too.

First and foremost, my condolences to you in your time of grief. Secondly, I hope you do not take offense to this, but are you 100% sure you were talking to your friend's brother? Sometimes rejection can make people do things they shouldn't. Is it at all possible that he is pretending to be someone else in order to make you think he ended his life? He's still young, dealing with severe mental and emotional issues, and it has been my experience that sometimes people will pretend to die in order to see how others will react. It happens on here all the time. My little brother used to do it online as well and I would get messages from his friends asking me to help him because he was threatening his life, or asking if he had died. I was just wondering if maybe that were the case here. Do you have conclusive evidence other than his brothers' word that he had committed suicide? I find it strange that someone who cares so little for him would take the time to log on to his accounts just to confirm his passing. My next piece of advice is not to blame yourself. We can't force ourselves to love someone romantically no matter how much we may want to. You know he had an illness, and unfortunately he wasn't getting the help he needed. None of this is your fault.

Sometimes rejection can make people do things they shouldn't. Is it at all possible that he is pretending to be someone else in order to make you think he ended his life? He's still young, dealing with severe mental and emotional issues, and it has been my experience that sometimes people will pretend to die in order to see how others will react. It happens on here all the time. I don't know if those were actual, formal diagnoses or not, but given the problems he had, it seems likely that there was some significant underlying issue. Mentally healthy, well-adjusted people generally don't live with such a crippling sense of self-loathing and general doom and gloom. I know, it never feels right, but it never should have been your job to prevent it. I know it's hard, when encountering someone who seems to need saving, not to fall into the role of trying to become their saviour, but if they have no desire to save themselves, you've pretty much accepted an impossible task. Of course, knowing that usually doesn't make it any easier to deal with. I always approach tragedy by trying to understand it, though I can't think of a single time that's actually made me feel any better about it. Time is usually the only thing that helps...and it does help, even if it doesn't feel like it will right now. Eventually you reach a point where you can think of good memories of the person without an overwhelming sense of sadness...and then you reach a point where you can have those thoughts without feeling instantly guilty for the fact that you "forgot" to be sad for a moment. Hrm, it never occurred to me, either, but I guess that's a possibility. It seems somewhat unlikely, given that you (Raven) were in contact with him for over year and he never pulled anything like that in the past, but it's a bit hard to rule out with 100% certainty when all you have is a few words on a screen claiming to be a family member. I guess that's one of the problems with online friendships. It's also possible that your friend (Ryland) isn't in on it, but that it's some cruel attempt at a practical joke being carried out by one or more of his friends/family members. I guess it's always hard to be 100% sure of what's going on on the other end of a computer screen. Whatever the case, in your position, I'd do my best to avoid jumping to any conclusions, and to try not to let that possibility cloud your memories of your friend. You knew him best, and if you're relatively confident he wouldn't do anything like that to you, I'd go with your gut instinct unless you encounter any strong evidence to the contrary. That's really all you can do, I think.

Everyone gets depressed yes, but Ryland was very Emo all the time... which is why everyone kind of avoided him because of the Drama. It IS Raven's job to prevent suicide though, he has been an active member of a suicide prevention organization in real life. Gives out a Card with his email address fur those who need someone to talk to when they are feeling suicidal. Improbable yes, but not impossible meow, just didn't seem like it would happen after how much we talked. Raven is trying not to be upset about this, but it is hard because it is not like a normal mistake you can fix. It is weird not talking to Ryland, like at all. Having him just be gone suddenly furever. It is sad, and even though Raven knows it is probably not his fault, he still feels responsible fur it. Now he may not even dead, he could just be doing some cruel joke fur wha ever reason or another. Raven is not sure if he is relieved at the idea he might not be dead or infuriated tha he would do something so completely heartless. Raven really just feels confused about everything now. Yeah, I know what you mean. You don't want him to be dead, obviously, but you want to be able to know for sure either way. And if he's not dead, he's got some serious questions to answer. But I do think you should probably take the situation at face value unless you encounter any evidence that suggests otherwise. The reality is, you may never be able to 100% confirm or deny what happened to him. If you know his full name, you could try just googling his name + obituaries on the off chance that something pops up, but if nothing pops up, that doesn't necessarily mean anything one way or the other. It could just mean that nobody wrote him an obituary (and/or that his obituary never ended up on the net); however, if one does pop up under his name, that would be another piece of evidence supporting the story you've been told. That's all I can really think of, unless you have any contact information for any friends or family members of his who knew him offline.

SinfulGuillotine Raven Wind KuroNeko-Chan No idea Enj Meowy... he didn't think stuff like this actually happened but guess it does. He has had suicide attempts befur, mostly closer to when we first met but he didn't die. It really bothers Raven not knowing fur sure if Ryland is dead or not. Not wishing tha Ryland IS dead, just... Kittens? Ya know? In a way, tha sorta makes him feel better tha it COULD be someone else on the other side. Ryland has several step siblings and as far as Raven is aware most of them are suppose to have Gaia Accounts too, just don't know wha they are. Now Raven is really not sure, and he doesn't want to start having trust issues with his friends because of the possibility of one Mean Spirited "Joke". No idea anymore Enj Meowy... Raven really just feels confused about everything now. Yeah, I know what you mean. You don't want him to be dead, obviously, but you want to be able to know for sure either way. And if he's not dead, he's got some serious questions to answer. But I do think you should probably take the situation at face value unless you encounter any evidence that suggests otherwise. You can look up someone's obituary online? Tha is kinda weird but Raven can try tha. Oh so... it might not be online anyway? Past two days or so, Raven has gone from very sad, to very angry, to very confused, to right now where he has no idea wha is going on at all. So there is no way to 100% confirm or deny any of this?
