It was a fun day. The warmest it had been in a long time. Katida Purrrrr loved days like these! Because it was the first day in such a long time, there were sure to be plenty of animals out and about to play with! She loved chasing things down in the warm sun. And naps were always better out in the sun. She learned that from when she was a filly laying in the sun. Her mother always loved to watch the sunlight dance off of her shiny coat. Katida had earned the nickname Kat from her parents for all her strange behaviors, but they never minded too much. She was their only child after all. And she was able to get almost anything that she wanted. Being out on her own was something that her parents had been against, but she had gotten what she wanted then as well. And her parents knew that she had to go out on her own at some point anyway.
So, here she was out and about and on her own! Simply adoring the sunlight, the light breeze, and listening to the little critters scurrying around in the woods near her. Breathing deep she decided to start looking around for something to chase. Maybe a little mouse would scurry out under her hooves and she would be able to play around with it! Never hurt it, of course. She NEVER hurt her prey. They were always allowed to scurry back on home when she was done whispering to them and poking them around with her "claws."
Suddenly Katida heard something. She wondered what it could be as she pointed her ears towards it, listening carefully. Slowly turning her head, there it was. She pounced on it lightly, catching it gently with her hooves. "Hello little friend." Carefully she nuzzled the small little mouse. It was still struggling a bit. Though it didn't take too long for it rest near her face. Calming her prey down was very important. After all, she couldn't talk to the little darlings if they scurried right out of her hooves!
With a large, rather toothy, smile, she let the little mouse go. Watching it scurry right up her nose and pat her forehead. The little dear seemed to like her, which was always nice. Her prey always came around to liking her in the end of it all! The chase was the fun part, but letting the little ones know that she wouldn't hurt them was the best part of her hunts. She had small friends all over the lands she has visited. When she returns, they even come around to greet her! It was a nice feeling to have so many friends, even if they were mostly mice. And they always brought her nice little things that they had found while she was away. They have mostly been buttons and small flowers, but she didn't appreciate them any less!
Katida watched as her mouse friend scurried away back to their home. With a small smile, she stood up and shook herself out. Watching the grass fall off of her coat, she giggled a bit. Other little things had come along and placed blades of grass onto her coat. There were even a few leaves mixed in! They were silly little creatures indeed. Thinking to herself, she continued on her way.

Small bits of down fluttered on the soft breeze around the stallion as Amit'zeru busied himself picking the old, molted feathers away from his vibrant, full featherdress. He was as proud as a peacock for his long golden and azure feathers, and he kept them as immaculate as he could. He never knew when a lovely lady (or stallion) would come across him, and who would talk to a dirty-looking feather-head? He knew he wouldn't. With a snap of his beak, the stallion pinked up his head, snorting feathers from his nose in an almost comical fashion. Sunlight fell through the bright green leaves, illuminating the area in patches of pale, warm light. The weather was warm, but the breeze that flowed through the area cut the heat to a comfortable temperature. He had found this little copse by chance on one of his gallivanting flights, noting it near a clean stream and the forest nearby with a wide meadow in between. Perfect place to laze around on such a day as this. He had yet to meet anyone today, and it was beginning to wear upon him. Perhaps a nap was a good idea....

Katida looked about, deciding which direction she should head in next. It wasn't going to be a life changing decision she was sure. But then again, you just never knew what could possibly happen next! she certainly wouldn't turn down the chance to meet someone new today. Especially on such a nice day. Maybe they would even want to play with her! She usually didn't meet too many larger beasts, Soquili included. She was generally on her own... Which wasn't bad. It just got lonely when all she had to talk to were mice or squirrels. Not that she didn't like her friends, of course, they just couldn't... speak back. Which having a one sided conversation made you look a little loopy to anyone who happened to pass by. Especially if they didn't see the mouse on your hoof. She hoped at the least that she would have the chance to run around with something bigger than a mouse. Now whether this was going to be agreed upon or not, she would have no idea. She would just have to find out when she ran into someone else.
So with all her large hopes and dreams, she set off in whatever direction she happened to be facing at the time she started to move her legs. Humming along she breathed in heavily, enjoying the smells in the air. All the flowers and grass in bloom gave her nose some kind of distraction as she walked on her way. As she continued on, she started to see some feathers floating on the breeze. She was so interested in these pretty feathers, and started to chase them about, grabbing them with her mouth gently and then letting them go about the breeze again. Giggling about, she slowly followed them to what she hoped was the source. She figured with the amount of feathers that were floating about, they must have come from a decent size bird!
Katida, after much frolicking on the wind and playing with all the various feathers, had finally come within eye shot of the source. She wiggled her butt with excitement! She really couldn't believe that she had actually found someone who was large like her! This was the most unexpected surprise she could have found! To be truthful, she was expecting a Condor. Which would have been no fun at all... Condors are rather... stiff creatures. She had chased one about once, and decided never again.
Shaking those thoughts from her mind, she smiled as she decided what the best course of action would be. She didn't really want to scare him, but she didn't really know if it was best to simply walk up to someone. Now that she thought on it, was she sure it was a stallion? She squinted her eyes a bit and decided that it was.
Taking a deep breath she decided that it would be best to at least walk closer to him before she decided what she wanted to do. After all, she would never make friends with him if she just sat around wondering the best way to approach him!
