((Set after this battle RP.))

Hafwen must have powered down and lost consciousness at some point. The last thing she remembered was Corinth carrying her out of the battle atop his shoulders while she was in a great amount of discomfort from the pain as well as the nauseating dizziness. Now, she was back in the familiarity of her dorm room back in Crystal Academy and on the bed. Almost as if she had never left it in the first place to first meet up with Corinth and Harmonia before running off to heed Camelot's request for help.

Forgetting entirely about the back injury she had sustained from the battle with the giant moth youma, she shifted her weight to roll onto her side and immediately regretted doing it. Even with the faster speed at which her body mended itself as a result of her being a Knight, the damage to her back was way too much for it to be fixed given the short amount of time that had elapsed since acquiring it. Squeezing her eyes tightly shut, she gripped tightly onto the sheets and took shallow breaths, whimpering softly as she waited for the painful episode to pass.

"Don't move, you'll make it worse..." Darren said quietly from the side of her bed, looking up from his phone for a moment. Said phone was put aside as he knelt and offered her a glass of water slowly. It contained a straw so she wouldn't have to sit up to drink it. "Here, drink this - it'll help."

"You got hit pretty bad back there, how you feeling?" He knew she was hurting - but he wanted to get her throat wetted before he even offered her the over the counter pain killers he'd already procured and had waiting in the wings.

Of course Darren would be here even though he had no right to be given that this was a Crystal Academy dorm room and Crystal Academy was an all girls school. Hafwen was going to catch hell if someone per chance caught Darren or Corinth redhanded in her room. She rolled her eyes at his words of caution, regarding the glass of water that was offered with disdain before shooting an icy glare his way to let him know that his presence was unwelcome.

But knowing Darren, the idiot wasn't going to leave her alone till she either threw him out herself or was completely healed up, neither of which she was or even capable of performing given her current condition so she was stuck with him whether she liked it or not. Lowering her gaze back to the straw in the glass of water that was offered to her, Hafwen considered the options that were avail to her and sighed, tentatively craning her neck to take a couple of sips from it.

"Of all the things, I had to be up against a stupid gigantic moth youma that emitted some sort of paralysing dust..." She mumbled. No thank yous. No words of appreciation. But at least she was tolerating his presence, directing her anger towards something else other than him and not cursing him out so that meant that he was making some kind of headway with her at least.

Very slowly, she released her grip on the sheets that she had been clinging to as if her life depended on it, taking a deep breath before wincing when she realised that even that was something beyond her comfort level at the moment. "Like crap. Not sure if it's the ribs or the back. Hurts to even breathe..."

"Well in either case, I have some pain medicine for you," Darren said as Hafwen finished speaking, turning to offer her the small white pills that he'd gotten from behind him as she'd spoken to him. "They'll take about fifteen minutes to start working, give or take, but they should at least take the edge off. I couldn't get anything stronger over the counter, so they'll have to do for now unless you want me to take you to the ER."

But that might get Hywel involved again - and he knew that Hafwen didn't want that man any closer to her than she probably wanted him right now. But to be fair - now was not the time or place for them to be having a spat over Harmonia.

She was hurt - and it was his duty to care for her. His fingers brushed her hair a little out of her eyes and he smiled. "I'm gonna worry about you until I'm sure you're okay though - to be fair."

Well, that certainly was thoughtful. Hafwen couldn't help thinking that way despite her current inclination to snap at Darren, maybe bite his head off even as soon as she was presented with an opportunity. But he wasn't totally cleared of all charges and placed back on her A list just yet. If the pain medication was about half the size of a golf ball and hence associated with a very significant risk of asphyxiation that she couldn't possibly ignore however, she was going to rip him a new one. Never mind the brownie points that he had scored with getting her some over the counter medication to help with her injury.

"They'll do. Are these drowsy or non-drowsy though?" Another disaster averted. Taking the small white pills that were offered from him, she popped them into her mouth then took a couple more sips of water from the straw before laying back down to wait for them to take effect. "I can skip class for a day without getting into trouble. Any more days than that, I'll have to get approval from the school nurse or a doctor." Although she wasn't really keen on the idea of heading to the hospital and possibly having to explain to Hywel subsequently why she was there, she wasn't above doing what was necessary if need be.

She looked at Darren when he spoke again, the expression on her face softening slightly as she averted her gaze. "Shouldn't you be worried about that kid? She may be dying in a ditch somewhere out there right this moment..." The last thing she wanted was for Darren to take everything on himself the way he had a tendency of doing and possibly resent her somewhere deep down for indirectly causing the death of a newbie senshi just because of her reaction to things earlier that evening.

"They're non-drowsy, I figured with your injuries you had enough to worry about than falling asleep suddenly..." He also wasn't about to drug her up with stuff that might make her pass out on him and make him freak out - that'd be another nightmare and would definitely land her in the hospital weather she liked it or not.

"As far as... Harmonia is concerned, or the kid - or whatever you want to call her - she can take care of herself at this point. You're the higher priority to me..." He gently took her hand and squeezed lightly.

"There were plenty of other order aura's there - I'm pretty sure she'll be fine. If not..." His shoulders gave a small - almost imperceptible shrug.

"There's only so much I can do... I warned her about the dangers and she chose to dive head first into this thing... so..." It would be wrong to say that he wouldn't feel guilt about it - but right now he had more pressing concerns.

"Okie... thanks." When Hafwen felt Darren hold her hand in his to give it a small squeeze, she slid her gaze back to him again, an unreadable expression on her face as she watched him speak about the Senshi of Harmony. "Don't ******** patronise or bullshit me Darren. You and I both know that if she dies or loses a limb tonight, you'll be bearing the guilt on your shoulders for the rest of your life."

She tugged her hand away from his, averting her gaze again in anticipation of the protest that would surely follow. "I can't go anywhere at this point. Neither can you help matters any by sitting here and staring at me." She rationalised aloud, gritting her teeth as she rolled so that her back was to him now. Her back still hurt as if it had splintered in various parts. She was in pain, angry and upset. She didn't know what she was doing or if she was making any sense, but she knew that she didn't want the life and death of that... woman to be on her or Darren's conscience.

"Just go. Do whatever you have to in order to set your mind at ease." She murmured, curling up on herself and wishing that he would just go and be done with it already.

"I'm not patronizing OR bullshitting you, Hafwen." Darren said flatly, watching as she rolled over and tried to cut him off with her body language. He sat there, watching her. "And stop with this martyr bullshit - it's pissing me off." He actually did sound legitimately angry.

"Oh, don't get me wrong - you're 100 percent justified with being angry with me - that I'm okay with. I should have been more clear about just how old Harmonia was - but you know what. She's a good kid... Note my words there. Kid. Child. Youth. In my eyes she's a child, Hafwen. It doesn't matter if she's 6 or 16... She's about my kid sister's age if i had to give it a guess..." He shrugged then.

"There is only one woman that I love, and right now she's being a right pain in my a**. Yes - Hafwen - right now you are making me angry. I'll put up with a lot of s**t, don't get me wrong. But what I WILL not stand for, is you shitting all over me because you're ******** pissy that I was talking to another girl who isn't even old enough to drive. You want to be mad cause I wasn't clear about how old she was - FINE - be mad. Just don't expect me to put up with the ******** riot act and your pity party because YOU think I would even REMOTELY think about cheating after ALL the hell and high water I have been through just to even get to where we are now."

He stood up, moving away from the bed as he gathered up the medicine and the water and placed it on a safer location.

"You want to have it out right here and now - we can fight it out if you want. But you're going to lose. Not because you're hurt - but because for once I am right about something." He took a deep breath and sighed.

"But I really, really do not want to make this into a row - not while you're hurt. But you gotta ******** trust me babe... I'm not an idiot and if I even had an inkling that she wanted more than to be my friend... then to get help because she's new to this hero s**t... Do you even think I wouldn't quash that s**t cold? There is only one flower I want to pluck - and that's my Desert Rose... If you can't understand that... if you can't trust that I can be true..."

He just stood there for a moment. "Then I don't know what to do - because I refuse to lose you to something as stupid as this."

Things would have been fine if Darren had quietly slipped out into the night and left Hafwen be. But even someone like him, who had the patience of a saint, had limits and triggers that would cause him to lose his temper as Hafwen was belatedly realising right now. Digging her fingers into her palms, she debated the option of ignoring him and pretending that she had passed out for the night. He would leave her alone as soon as he was done with saying his piece. As he went on and on however, she couldn't help feeling more and more agitated, so much so to the point that she couldn't take his accusations anymore and tossed the sheets aside to scramble out of the bed to stand and glare icily at him.

"Do you think for a second that you're the only one who's pissing mad between the both of us here?" She lifted a hand to jab a few times at his chest. "If you truly think that I'm being a martyr, acting and pretending to be things that I'm not while trying to start a pity party here, that just goes to show how much you really know about me." Feeling her eyes begin to water, she withdrew her hand to rub the back of it against her eyes and nose. "And if you want to stand here and duke it out and let the whole dorm know that I have a boy here in my ******** room, I'm going..."

Intent on moving past him to get to the window, she took a step forward and grimaced at the pain that shot through her entire spine, freezing momentarily as she fumbled and grabbed onto the edge of the nearby table for support.

Darren sighed, moving toward her and gently placed his hands on her shoulder. "Hafwen - stop."

He didn't want this to devolve into a fight, and he could already hear her getting upset - she was ready to start sobbing any second from the stress he was sure and he knew she might need it but was probably holding back for his sake.

"Let's get you back in bed before you get hurt worse..." He murmured, gently guiding her back to her bed. "We're not going to have this fight now."

For once, he was actually taking control of the conversation.

Gripping tightly onto the edge of the desk until her knuckles had turned white, Hafwen looked up at Darren the moment she felt his hands on her shoulders, her lips pressed together into a thin line. Already she could see the window that was located not too far from behind him but even if she managed to make it there without Darren attempting to stop her or her back giving out on her, she wasn't going to be able to make it far out there on her own either.

Mulling over her options, she finally relented, accepting Darren's help as they worked together to get her back onto the bed. "Okie." She clung to him without another word, somewhat calmer now in stark comparison to the outburst that she was going through earlier.

"Now what...?"

"I really don't want to fight about this, but that doesn't mean we can't talk about it..." He said gently once they got her into bed, brushing her hair very gently in order to not cause her any more discomfort.

"I want to work this out without yelling at the top of our lungs if we can - because I think we both have justifications for our anger."

He didn't want to make this a drag out fight - but if he had to he'd drag it out.

"I don't want to fight you either." Hafwen muttered softly as she laid on her side and looked Darren over with a small frown, unsure as to how she ought to go about this situation. This, like falling in love and learning to accept that there was going to be another person in her life whom she was going to have to be accountable to, was entirely new to her. Sure she had gotten her fair share of fights and disagreements in the past. But this was an entirely different matter altogether given that their relationship was likely at stake.

Very very tentatively, she stretched a hand out to take hold of one of his, quivering slightly as she gave it a small squeeze and lowered her gaze a little. "I just... don't even know where to start or how we should go about this... discussion." She finally admitted albeit in a small voice.

"Well let's start with why we're mad..." Darren said softly, squeezing her hand in return and giving her a soft smile. "I'm angry because I feel like you don't trust me - and that hurts."

He was honest and upfront about it.

"If I have given you a reason not to trust me... I'd like to know - so I can explain myself if nothing else..."

"You said she was a kid. I thought she was ten years old tops." Hafwen mumbled begrudgingly without any hesitation before pausing to give some thought to the issue on trust that was brought up. "I didn't say that I don't trust you. I'm... miffed because you said I was pretending to be a matyr and trying to start a pity party." She tightened her grip on his hand, trying to keep a tight rein on her emotions lest she lost her temper at him again.

"But I wasn't. I've never pretended to be anything I'm not. You should know that." She frowned, trying to pull both her hand and herself away now, not used to baring her feelings and thoughts like this. "... I just don't want her to die just because you chose to stay here with me." She eventually admitted.
