∙ Reinvent the Bowl Contest ∙
Goldfish bowls are the bane of good fish husbandry. Unsuitable for anything much more than a moss ball, their small size can lead to swift death for many fish. So your mission is to suggest another way to use a "fish" bowl! Simply post in this thread with your idea on how to better use a one-gallon "fish" bowl. After the entry period has been closed, the best two suggestions will win.
The entry period will end 4/1 around 11:00am CST. Advance warning will be given before the contest is closed. Judging will occur in the day or two after by third parties also known as my roommates.
Now Closed!

∙ Prizes ∙
The first place prize is the Pompom Oranda above, the first variation to be found in the Ponds of Gold community! Variations have a very slim chance of passing down through breeding.

Second place will receive this cute Oranda colored by VerityHattress!

Ok what I have done with my old fish bowls in years past is make them in planters. I've grown bulbs in them etc.
While this either are my pics (Google to show you the possibilities) People have used these useless bowls for our beautiful goldies and thought outside of the box and made little environments. Zen Gardens to cactus habitats.

For making your own little world inside of them (that way they're round like the Earth, but this way you can also capture very specific scenes inside ... all while singing IT'S A SMALL WORLD AFTER AAAALL and getting thoroughly creeped out):

I've used them for punch bowls before, especially using the [recipe] this image has come from! (if not, I totally just load them up with Swedish fish >>)

Contest is closed!
Winners will be coming in the next few days. All entries will also (eventually) receive a badge for entering the contest, I just don't have it created right now because it was a late idea.
