Personality
Naturally a cautious, stoic, but thoughtful introvert, Kesshin has a strong sense of responsibility and justice and takes great pride in his work as a mercenary, seeing every job he takes all the way through to the end. He is fiercely independent and wary of others who approach him with ulterior motives. He is not above helping people who are really in need, though will not continue to due so without proper payment. He tends to be easily irritated, but is not unwilling to listen to others. Kesshin has a strong respect towards the hard-work of others, he shows his strong disapproval towards cheating and trickery. Kesshin is not a natural born leader though he wishes he were in light of his past. He can't say he is good at making friends but once his trust is gained by someone he is loyal even to the point he may be fooled or used by them. Kesshin's personality on the battlefield fluctuates with his normal self, although he is normally easily agitated, he is methodical and calculating in battle. When a battle is really challenging or intense his speech changes, losing his calm tone for the voice of a kill-crazed murderer. However, terrifying the changes are, they make him an exceptional swordsman well-suited for the front-lines and strong enough to protect his allies.
Bio.
Kesshin was born in a small unknown city named Helioborg. It was a filthy city writhed with crime. There was a hug gap between the rich and the poor here and many did what they had to do to feed their young and to survive, steal, kill, swindle. Kesshin was unfortunately born on the poor side of the population in Helioborg but even so he was a child with a happy disposition and dreams of becoming an officer infantryman like his father. Kesshin parents where among the few honest people in the town though they didn't blame many in the city for what they did, especially to the wealthy, who could care less about them. As Kesshin grew up and watched his father and mother, he became more and more determined to be a man of honor fight crime and try to make his city a more peaceful one. The day came when he was 16, he was finally old enough to join the infantrymen along side his father and for a six months they prospered as much as a poor family could, until one day no more. There began a Civil War between the rich and the poor, sure the rich had money therefore power, but the poor had numbers. The fighting went on for half a year until it became so bad an all out war broke out, that day the infantryman of Helioborg could contain it no more. Due to this the one who watched over the city walls were gone and the city was left unattended to in a manner. A monster pack leader seemed to see that as an opportunity to strike and did so, though it so happen the the rich called in a favor from the Shinra Company using their money to bring in a SOLDIER unit known as the 13th Unit Ragnarok, though it was already to late to win this Civil War. The monster took the people by surprise and began to feast on them, rich or poor they didn't discriminate. By the time the SOLDIERs arrived nearly everyone was dead. Kesshin layed there in his mother and fathers blood, mixed with the pack leaders who he slayed and as he began to lose consciousness from blood loss more monsters were about to attack. In an instant Kesshin was saved by the 3-man SOLDIER unit, two men one who looked old and another who looked younger but still older than him and a young girl no older than he was, they cleaned up what was left of the monsters and took the remaining people to Midgar, for Helioborg was wiped from the map that day.
Not a month later did Kesshin enlist to become apart of SOLDIER. Passing barely he began to struggle to keep up with others in training and on the field. He was even told he was not cut out to be apart of SOLDIER but didn't give up. Kesshin vowed to be one of the SOLDIERs of the 13th Unit Ragnarok, he would see all those people again. Kesshin drive overwhelmed those who had talent, those who were stronger and he rose steadily to the ranks. He did not make 1st class SOLDIER, in a sense. Instead when he was 18 he was requested to be apart of the classified and fabled 13th Unit Ragnarok by the unit captain Arngrim Freid the young man he had seen back in Helioborg. Special Treatments were given to Kesshin that all members of the unit had undergone to make them stronger and faster even than the average member of SOLDIER. After, Kesshin was welcomed by them all with open arms, training under Arngrim's wing. They all went on convert missions and trained together for months on end, Kesshin and Arngrim became best friends, Kesshin and the young girl who's name was Rika Ayle had fallen in love, and the older man Braev Silversword and Kesshin had developed a father-son relationship. Again all was well until time around the Mass Desertion; tensions were high and more and more deplorable missions became requested of the 13th Unit Ragnarok and even worse the treatments began to take its toll causing adverse side effects to the 13 Unit one by one. First it was Braev who became savage and dangerous, Kesshin and the others had no choice but to put him down. As weeks past by the others became worried about their own well being. None had realized it yet but Arngrim was already too far gone; speaking of revolutions and new eras Arngrim had planned to make everyone this way, twisted and psychotic yet powerful killing the weak who may not have survived it. It was hard for Kesshin and Rika but they had to put him down though that was no easy task, both suffered deep injuries from the battle and severe burns from his flames. Though things looked bad for the Shinra Corperation, Kesshin was still optimistic thanks to Rika, they were the only ones they had left and the only reason why they kept going. That was until the day Rika finally lost her mind, which seemed to have been engulfed in fear, sending her fight or flight system into overdrive. Knowing she was a danger to others and herself Kesshin had to act, first he tried pleaditing with her but there was no use. Her fear made her sloppy and unfocused, with one fell swoop Kesshin ended his lovers life. Before she died she regained her senses begging Kesshin to not believe it was his fault, not to carry the guilt around with him for his entire life. With that she gave him a gift, her greatsword Ethereal and they shared one final kiss before they bid each other farwell promising to met again in the lifestream. Kesshin would have it no more, burying his last close friend, his lover Kesshin to Ethereal and fled fearing he would hurt someone when he eventually loses his mind.

There were legends of about the mountain told by his mother claiming if a person wanted to be cleansed thoroughly that the need only face they fear, face what they hate, or face their guilt and they shall be cleansed. Kesshin unfortunately had all three rolled into one; Kesshin faced the mighty beast in front of him because he knew it was what all the people he cherished would want him to do. The battle raged on Kesshin's opponent the hideous yet spitting image of himself, giving all that he had and all that his companions gave him Kesshin triumphed realizing it wasn't for him to defeat it, it was for him to accept that which stood before him to make it his own, to make him stronger. Kesshin was finally at peace with himself, but it was cut short when the Shinra Corporation tracked him down, destroying the cavern hoping to bury their mistake never to be seen again. Kesshin had no regrets, he forever thought he was lost deep within the cavern as it caved in. Though by Rika's seal released from the gifted blade she gave him, he was sealed in a crystal, put in deep hibernation.
Years pasted and when the seal was finally broken and Kesshin freed from his deep slumber, think as if it was only yesterday that he was buried under the Mt. Samael, everything was not like it was. Mt. Samael was gone a desert wasteland laid before him. Kesshin knew not what to make of this. Making it somehow to the nearest town where he begged for water and a scrap to eat Kesshin inquired that somehow he has jumped into the near future by a few years unscathed. He was happy but still he was sad, all that he knew was gone already but now his whole world was shaken, has moved forward while he only stood still. Thanking the townsfolk for their supposed kindness Kesshin was about to take his leave, but then was asked to take care of a few jobs around the town. Realizing that they would hang the food and drink over his head Kesshin did their dirty work disposing of nearby bandits, thugs, and monsters, eventually making a profession out of it Kesshin bought him a motorcycle recolored it green and gold, learned how to ride it and left the town without a trace. Now Kesshin travels the world doing all that he knows how, living his life as a lowly mercenary, though with this he seems to be content.
