Tristan normally didn't stray out into the field beyond the park; but when he did, he found an ekans.
He'd never met a poison type before; he'd never met a snake like pokemon before, and it fascinated him. He knelt closer to the ekans' level, smiling. "Hey," he said. "I'm Tristan." Was this ekans wild? Should he invite it to stay with him? He was staying with Dea, though; did he need her permission first? He supposed he ought to ask the ekans before making assumptions. Maybe it was wild and happy; maybe it was lost. Maybe it had strayed from its trainer.
"Do you live here?" he asked. "It's kind of cold for a snake to be out, isn't it? Don't you like the sun better?"

Sly had wanted to see the stars, it was so bright in the city he couldn't see them anymore. His trainer told him of a star cluster in the shape of what's called...The Snake Bearer. He was scanning the skies til he heard another voice. The slightly smaller than normal Ekans looked over at the electric type and blinked once.
He blinked twice as the male spoke.
Thrice found him slithering back stuttering out, "I-I'm okay....Rai gave me a scarf see?" he was indeed wrapped in a nice purple scarf it was a little on the silky side but it was warm. He nodded, "Rai lives in the city he'll most likely send the Luxray out to get me soon. He gets worried about me..."

Tristan knew what it was like to have someone worry about him; he nodded in understanding. "My mom worries about me, too," he said, assuming Rai was the ekans' parental figure. "He must be your trainer, huh?" He knew Dea was a trainer, but he didn't know all that much about them. Most of his siblings referred to her as their mother.
"Nice color," he said, complimenting the scarf with a smile. "It doesn't clash with your scales. I bet it's nice and warm, too." He was glad the ekans had someone looking after him. He looked up at the stars. "They're beautiful, huh?" he asked. "I've seen one up close. When I was still a pokemon."

Sly blinked so this one understood, the small snake slithered close; "You did?! I bet it was pretty..." he looked back up. Dearly wishing to find that star. The small snake smiled the best he could.
"Thank you...Rai made one for each of us...he's very kind. Like a Mama." Sly said softly....

"It was. I wanted to send it home and catch it, so it wouldn't die and it wouldn't be away from it's mom and dad. I was still little then, so I didn't understand stars didn't have moms and dads..." He hesitated, looking embarrassed. It was awkward, talking about the time he'd spent with those people. "I told the person with me that I wanted to send it back to it's parents; it was falling, you see. And before it fell, I wanted to go find where it would fall so I could send it home. Instead, it found me! Fell right in front of me. I was so excited. I picked it up immediately." He scratched the back of his neck, looking hesitant to continue. "I don't really remember anything after that," he confessed. "I know I fell asleep, and then I was taken home."
He reached out to pet the ekans. "I bet you can find one, too."

The snake nuzzled the outstretched hand. That felt nice, being petted. He looked back up at the sky. Seeing a few stars streak he wished dearly for his snake star....suddenly. He saw a snake flash in his mind before seeing a star oddly fall. Without a word the young snake took off after it...

Tristan knew that look. He figured he knew what was happening. The jirachi that dispersed the stars was messing with someone's life again! He took off after the ekans. "Hey! Slow down, don't touch it!" he called to the pokemon. "You'll be changed forever, if you do!" How was he supposed to explain to the snake pokemon that his life would change the moment he touched the star? How was he supposed to explain to the ekans' trainer that he had a child, rather than an ekans, should the ekans catch up with the star?

Sly heard the male but then he didn't...the little snake found the general area of where he thought the star landed but didn't see it. Slithering up to the branches he let out a happy hiss when he saw the star nestled in a tree hollow. He reached his tail in and called out, "Tristan I got it! I wanna show Rai!!! I found my snake star!!!!"

"Don't touch it!" Tristan called again, racing to the ekans' side. He wasn't sure how to explain; the star would disappear on contact, he remembered that bit. He remembered that the star had disappeared; he'd thought, before, that they had gotten it back home. He'd been little then. He hadn't understood how the world worked.
"Listen, if you touch it, you'll fall asleep! And when you wake up, you won't be you! Well, you'll be you, but a different you. Like me! But you."

Sorry Tristan...Sly was too excited to hear you properly. The small snake easily brought the star out and blinked. It was gone! He whimpered he wanted to show Rai the star. He felt sleepy his tail rubbing at his eyes, "Triss....ribbon has Rai's location...i'm sweepy...." with that the little Ekans promptly fell out of the tree...
Hope Tristan is a good catch. Regardless the minun would find the address of the little one's trainer on the scarf allowing him to return the child. Rai was an understanding male, even if the Dragonair at his side looked ready to murder....
