It had been a few weeks since the brothers had come to Sauron's hose. Isaris not really talking to anyone beyond a gruff "hello" every now and again. The youth really wasn't up for talking to anyone outside of his little brother, but he had noticed that Issaly wanted to explore on his own for a day. So...reminding him of his limits the elder had seen the smaller go off to play nearby. Sighing as he turned to fiddle with a patch on his pants the elder wasn't up for anyone coming near him...

He just knew that wouldn't last.

Sauron was walking by to go on a bit of a hunt with his radaku when he saw the young scarred prentice, poor lad seemed to have gone though some scratchy ordeal when he was young. It seemed to have made marks on his mind too, Sauron had never seen someone so sulky in all his life, and this was AFTER rescue. The boy needed shaken up.

"Isaris, care to join the hunt?" Sauron looked sternly at him, some excersize would do him good. Pity he wasn't so easy to get along with as his brother. Young Issaly was a delight, whereas his brother seemed to be his antithesis.

He had seen his daughter sneaking peeks at him too, but she seemed to be mostly preoccupied outside of Ast which was good. Meant Sauron couldn't hover so awfully.

Isaris heard the radaku before the owner, once he heard Sauron however the youth wanted to make a face. He wanted to bristle and tell Sauron to bug off...but. As he let his head fall into his hand his fingers brushed the circular formation on his forehead. It was a trait he and all his brothers shared, neither of their parents had the formation. So they assumed it was passed from a ancestor. Thinking of his brothers brought the image of the most nuturing one to mind...Icanthis. Isaris took in a gentle breath almost hearing his brother's gentle voice....

"Remember Isaris. We must always show hospitality to others. Always keep your heart gold. Don't tarnish it. There's enough of that in the world...lets brighten it up shall we?"

Isaris looked at the other male, a hunt. He remembered hunts with his brothers. He nodded, "Thank you, I will."

Sauron nodded. This particular lad had been through too much , far too much. But now circumstances put him in the position of a parent and Sauron knew how hard that was, no longer a child, not yet an adult and understandably prickly.

All Sauron had to offer was support, Isaris would thin he was too old for adoption and in a way he was. Sauron could not replece his parents, but being a kind of Uncle would work he thought. He just had to penetrate that sheild of pessimism and unfortunately he could think on only one way to do that. He rolled his eyes when Isaris wasn't watching; Old Fashioned Male Bonding. Ugh. Not the gentlest of therapy but Isaris didn't strike him as a there, there kiss it better type of person.

"We will go after the bugs today." He said.

Isaris blinked...bugs. Seriously? Bugs. He repressed the urge to sigh. Instead he nodded again, "Sure. Simple."

He got up to follow the older male. Flipping a long lock of silver over his shoulder. and indeed Sauron, Old Fashion was the best method....Isaris wasn't the touchy feely type. He disliked contact unless it was his little brother. Issaly needed the contact, the reassurance that all was well. Isaris would always make sure of that. He sighed...

Bugs were some of the most common food items in Jauhar, these were not your average crickets either, these were big bugs and Sauron had just the kind in mind. He wasn't sure either of them would be able to best this beast but that was part of the excersize. He had to peel the layers of sulk off the lad and this was the best way to do it. "You have heard of Menzuri yes? We are heading to one of their nests, you need to be quick of mind and quicker of feet. If you fail in either aspect, you might not survive." It was nothing but the truth but he felt that there was no quicker way to start appreciating life then to have it in such danger.

It sucked but well it worked. He should know, and he had so many wonderful things in his life. Sauron swung up into the tree and looked for sign of the giant spider things...not his favorite but he didn't want the favorite for this excersize.

Isaris was following the male all the way till he heard exactly what they would be hunting. The youth froze then slowly turned to look at the elder, "You are ten kinds of crazy and none of them are friends of mine."

The youth then watched as the elder swung up, "Wait...what weapons are we using against them?!? Sauron!!!" He easily climbed an ajoining tree before glaring at the male hissing at him, "If I bleed from this you get to deal with the hysterics Issaly will throw...he hates blood."

The male didn't like these spiders per say...but he was used to hunting them...

Sauron grinned to himself, yes let the lad think what he would. Sauron had his lance and would have to move twice as fast to protect both himself and the prentice if need be, one thing was for sure he had cracked that barrier around the boy, it would take a little more to shattter it completely but he didn't plan for either of them to die that day.

"Menzuri don't have friends, I think that is the point." He said somewhat cryptically.

"Bleeding can be stopped swiftly but try not to break a bone, they are more difficult." Sauron's eyes glinted in the light filtering through the canopy, maybe he did look a bit mad, he mused. Oh well, that just added to the affect he supposed. Let the lad think him a softie after this, after he showed his mettle.

Sun glinted off one of the evil webs, and Sauron could see a crystalline pink leg down and to the left curving around a tree. He nodded at Isaris. "There is one here, avoid the webs and locate the menzuri, stay out of danger."

Isaris grinned, feeling the same thrill he did whenever he and his brothers would go out to hunt. Since he was the youngest the youth was used to being the bait. Long white braids twitched behind him as he climbed higher. The male saw the web. Stepping lightly he kept his eyes on the crystal spider below. The youth managed to leap onto the tree the web was on. His mind reverting to his days as the bait for the hunt. So wrapped up in his instincts the male grabbed a branch. Then blinked...it felt...warm? He looked in front of him....

Straight into the eyes of a Menzuri.

It was a mere 10 second dely that both parties had before Isaris gasped letting go and falling back. The youth composed himself in mid fall twisting to grab a branch. Snapping a few smaller branches he winced as new scratches appeared on his torso. Hearing the creatures cry he dropped onto the branch below then called out, "Sauron all yours!!!"

Sauron flew into action and swung in front of the crystal blue menzuri...maybe it was mating season, how disturbing. He waved his spear around and darted up, baiting the beast to follow him, it complied probably thinking that sauron's juices would be a better vintage. Sauron wasn't so sure he liked that thought.

Meanwhile the pink menzuri had grown curious and peeked out from behind the tree. Pesky shifters...were crunchy shifters, and she liked crunchy.

"Isaris climb! Shes coming for you!" Sauron howled and poked at his blue pursuer. "Eyes on me mushroom face." Sauron hopped to another branch on the other side of the canopy. He had to get rid of this thing or it could drop on either of them if he went to save Isaris. He took some rope from his belt and wrapped it around the beast as best as he could an around the tree trunk. Thankfully there was no web up here being out of the menzuri's lower tier territory.

Sauron dropped getting bark burn on his butt along the way. I'm coming Isaris.

Isaris totally forgot about the female. CRAP!!! He twisted to see her, groaning as he scrambled up and away from webs. Well this was just dandy! They happened to find a mating pair!!! The youth swung up and darted through branches. Disregarding the scratches he felt along the way. Turning once he saw the pale pink crystals then got an idea. It would be insane if it worked, but the male wasn't one for sane choices.

Hence actually touching one...Isaris twirled to pull back a large branch. Then when the menzuri was nearly there let go. Turning tail he leaped onto another tree...turning at the sound of a crash. Well...that worked! He looked down to the female flailing on the ground. Then snickering kept his pace, "Sauron! She's down!!"

Now either Sauron had a hand in her fall. The shock of the branch suddenly snapping at her or she actually got hit were all plausible reasons.

"Okay Isaris get out of here avoid the web! I have to go free the male from the rope, then I'll be right behind you!." He crawled back up and sliced through the rope, the menzuri didn't deserve to be starved or immobilized until another predaotor..maybe its wife came to eat him. The menzuri had been waiting for him and as Sauron tried to flee it caught his ankle with a fang. Just a graze but Sauron could feel that some poison had gotten in..Well crap.

"Good bye to you too!." He left the rope and fled after the boy, landing safely far enough away on a branch, then stumbling a bit before regaining his balance..he had a little time he thought before it took hold and made him hallucinate. He hoped to be back by the village by then. "Excellent work lad, you should be proud, that branch really got her good. Sometimes its the simple things." he said, feeling the fire burn its way up his calf.

Isaris was on his own high as he landed then sprang off. The youth's eyes were bright more so than they had been for the past few weeks of them being around Sauron and his family. Isaris spoke gleefully, "That was just like when my brothers and I would go hunting. The branch trick usually never worked!"

He was going to ramble a little now, "Istanell, the eldest was a powerful archer. He never missed if one of us got pinned. He once nailed a rivial from another group right between the eyes when they had our brother, Icanthis pinned after Icanthis refused to be his partner. Then Isodler oh man...Isodler was always good for knocking the targets back. He was the strongest. Icanthis was the smart one." he chuckled before he glanced down as he noticed the elder was...slower. He saw the wound, "You got hit! did you want me to run ahead? Wait...I know! climb on my back, I'm stronger than I look. I can carry you back to the village..."

Sauron smiled and it was only mildly strained, a small muscle twiching near his eye. "Thank you but I can walk, I'll be able to make it to the village, its gonna be a rough night for me though, make sure I have no weapons around me, and if your interested in a good laugh or entertainment, the venom makes the bearer hallucinate."

"Your family sounds like a powerful hunting unit, strong and close knit, like it should be."

"Thankfully its a shallow scratch with not a lot of venom, so its not fatal or anything, just rather unpleasant. Sauron would use his lance to lean on if need be. He would make it back he thought, he might be limping by the end though. "We must hurry or you will be carrying my sorry self back." He grinned and patted Isaris on the shoulder. This companionship had been what he had wanted all along.

Isaris chuckled, "Noted. I'll keep Issaly away from you. You would only frighten him tonight. Though he likes falling asleep on you when you let him. I suppose that's him reaching out for the Father we never had." The youth's eyes went dark. Then he glanced back...

"We were. Still are if I can find them all again. Istanell was big on us all sticking together. He understood the pressure our Father put on us all...he wanted warriors. Not children. Issaly...: he sighed, "Our mother grew weaker and weaker with each passing day of Issaly's bearing. When he came into this world...she left it."

The youth held a branch to the side allowing Sauron passage, they were making good time, but Isaris rambled on; "The pendant he wears...are a trio of crystals that splayed over our Mother's heart. Istanell said that our Mother left Issaly with her heart...proof of her love for him regardless of her fate. Our Father had the pendant made out of resentment. We kept a lie about its truth...we never wanted Issaly to grow with our resentment towards our Father. In a way...I'm glad for that fight which parted my family. I witnessed my Father's death...while shielding Issaly from it..."
