Professor Juniper is a woman who's well established herself as a Pokemon expert in the Unova region. Her kindly disposition and infinite patience will allow even the most indecisive trainers to feel comfortable in the choice of starter. The three starter pokemon she offers are the grass type, Snivy, the fire type, Tepig, and the water type, Oshawott. Choose your new partner wisely, and if you find it hard to pick, don't worry too much; you'll meet many pokemon on your journey to add to your team. You might even see one of these fellows again, because rumor has it all of the professors have a constant hankering for chocolate, so if you bring Professor Juniper a RageCandyBar, she'll offer you another one of her starters!
Post here once and quote a crew member when your Trainer License (Character Profile) is in order, and once your profile has been approved, someone will NPC and interact with you as Professor Juniper, making sure your get your starter, Pokedex, an infinite amount of pokeballs and potions to start your character off. All starters obtained at the pokemon lab are level 5 with normal coloration. Remember to keep all of your Items and Pokemon information (attacks, level, HP, EXP, etc) somewhere in your posts.
Professor Juniper's lab exits to Nuvema Town, so when you are done here, you may leave and step out into the big wide pokemon world.
It had been a rather grueling walk just to get there, but she had somehow managed it. A somewhat tired teenager pushed open the door to the lab and poked her head in before stepping into the building. For the most part, the scientists working within paid her no notice, save to avoid walking into her when her cautious steps crossed their paths. The red-haired teen mostly tried to stay out of the way as she wandered towards the back of the building. As she walked, the teen pulled a silver-colored device from a pocket of her pants and slid it open before poking at the screen to double check something.
As she reached the back room, the teen looked up from her device and checked the people in the area. She soon saw a woman with light brown hair setting up a selection of Pokeballs and other items on a table. A slight smile on the red-haired teen's face formed as she slid shut the device and walked over. She tucked away the small object as she approached the woman at the table, then offered her hand for a handshake."Hello, Professor Juniper."
Figuring she might as well get straight to the point, the teen started into her short, if a bit rehearsed, introduction and explanation for her intrusion."My name is Sable Voss. I've come out to Unova from my home region of Orre so that I might be able to become a trainer. If it is alright, I would like to choose a Snivy as my starter,"the teen said with a fairly nice expression. Even if the professor did not accept the offered hand.

Professor Juniper had been entranced in her paper work, so much so she had missed the teen walking into her lab to request a starter pokemon. The girl was putting a silver device back in her pocket when she caught sight of her. Standing from behind her desk her gave a short but quick hand shake to the offered hand. To the left sat atop a second desk, three poke'balls. There characteristic red and white colors had been polished so the room reflected off their surface. "Oh, Hello dear, Well your in luck we just so happen to have a Snivy. You've come quite a long ways just to get this pokemon huh. Does the Orre regions not have a lab you could have used? At any rate here you go." Professor Juniper had walked over to the deck in question and now held out the red and white ball for Voss. Releasing the pokemon inside. The Snivy crossed its arms as it looked about the room. Handing the ball to Voss along with a Poke'Dex and a collection of pokeballs. "Now your Poke'Dex will have your Trainer ID and store any info on pokemon you've caught or seen. Don't lose it because you wont be able to replace it. Need anything else miss Voss?"

Sable held her tongue at the professor's question, although she felt her cheeks flush a bit. Of course Orre had labs! What region didn't have at least one lab? It was the Pokemon - or, more accurately, the lack of them - that were the problem. However, the teen couldn't entirely blame the woman for her question. It seemed that there weren't many people outside of Orre that had even heard of the region, let alone actually knew anything about it. At least, that's how it had appeared to the teen so far in coming to Unova.
What amount of annoyance the teen had quickly faded away when the professor let out the small grass type. Sable couldn't help but crouch down slightly to get a better look at the Pokemon as it seemed to be evaluating its current situation. Letting out a bit of a cheery chuckle, the red-haired teen straightened herself back up and accepted the items that Professor Juniper handed her. And, of course, listened to the explanation that came with them.
The teen's expression faded back to a more serious look as she took in the information the woman gave her. Admittedly, it sounded a bit redundant to be carrying the small, pink device, but the teen figured she might as well take care of it if it was going to be issued to her. Once the explanation was finally finished, the teen shook her head at the professor's final question."That should be everything, professor. Thank you for your time, and have a pleasant day,"the teen replied, then turned to look at the Snivy that was to be her partner as she tucked away the Pokedex and Pokeballs.
"Looks like we're going to be working together from now on. If you've got any goodbyes to say, I'd suggest getting them done now so we can let the professor get back to her work,"the teen said to the grass Pokemon, which had been studying her while Professor Juniper had been explaining about the Pokedex. The Snivy looked up at the human that was to be his trainer for a moment, then looked over at the professor and raised one of its little arms."Sni!"the Pokemon called out before turning and following his new trainer out of the lab.

Quickly entering the lab, the ebon-haired girl quickly scanned around the room, grinning. Keeping her headphones crooked so she could still hear out of one ear, the music that played could be heard up close, but someone at any distance probably wouldn't notice. She readjusted the straps of her bag and violin case, keeping the latter up across her back. So this is the lab, huh? She thought to herself. Little... neater, than I expected, but whatever.
Once the girl spotted the professor though, she immediately approached her, grinning ear to ear. "Professor Juniper?" She asked. "I'm Alice Kraven, I'm here for my starter pokemon. Can I get an Oshawott?"

Professor Juniper looked up as a voice called to her attention, peering over her desk, and then standing with a smile. "Welcome! An Oshawott, you say?" she repeated, walking out from behind her desk. She strolled over to the shelves, gathering a trey and piling it with a pokeball, a few spares, a potion, and a pokedex. "You came prepared," she noted, walking over to offer the items to the girl, "I hope you'll treat it well."

☆ ☆【It had been a long trip, coming all the way here to Nuvema Town from the Daycare Center back by Icirrus City where she had lived with her adoptive family. Phoenix couldn’t believe that she had made it this far, but everything that she had done up to this point was all for the sake of her goals. Needless to say, her life thus far hadn’t been the easiest… several years of going through Hell and back in that orphanage, living on the streets and barely getting by each day… Phoenix had long since become a fugitive from the day she’d run away from that orphanage, and she had seen missing posters of her and Clark posted up in nearly every city, town, and village in Unova. Surely they weren’t still looking for them after all these years? Arceus, the orphanage staff were certainly persistent if they’d spent this long trying to find her and her partner-in-crime, she’d give them that. It took her quite a bit of time to think of how she would be able to travel safely to get to where she needed to go. Since she had been around… fourteen years old when she and Clark had performed their grand getaway, she was now twenty-two, and her appearance had since then changed quite a bit. Her hair had grown longer, and she was able to easily hide her most distinguishing feature much easier than before, which were her pointed ears that seemed quite reminiscent of an elf from some fantasy novel. Her fiery colored locks, on the other hand, she could easily pass off as being dyed even if it was just naturally like that, no one would know the difference unless they knew her well enough. And she had her own alias to give to anyone she met or if she was being questioned by a search party, Phoenix of course. She had been known only as Blue when she had run away from that place, they wouldn’t be looking for a girl named Phoenix… at least, that was what she was hoping. She figured she would get her own headstart on her journey here, though she believed it would be best to leave Unova for a different region as soon as possible. She wanted to stop by her adoptive parents’ house at least once before she struck out elsewhere, maybe even bring Clark along with her since he wasn’t all that safe here either… Phoenix took a deep breath, adjusting the strap over her shoulder that connected to the guitar case that lay against her back. She would just go inside, ask Juniper for her starter Pokemon, and head out for the next town. In and out, that was all there was to it. ” Hope you’re ready for this, Klaus,” she said, addressing the Zoroark that stood tall next to her. Klaus had been her best friend and her most loyal companion since the day they had met, she trusted him with her life as much as he trusted her with his.” Just as ready as you are, Phee,”he answered with a grin and a light chuckle, nodding towards the door leading into the lab,” Shall we?”Phoenix nodded in return, rubbing the strap of Lucille’s case to ease her nerves as they stepped inside the lab. ” Professor Juniper?” she called out in a slightly meek voice as she entered, her deep sea blue eyes gazing around the neat-kept lab, ” I’m here for a Pokemon, if it’s not much trouble.” As she moved towards the desk where the good Professor herself was likely working at, the fiery-haired girl turned towards her Zoroark companion. ” If you see any missing posters around here, just play it cool and we’ll deal with it on the way out,” she whispered lowly, keeping her eyes peeled for any signs of the familiar posters she had seen on nearly every building and street corner in Unova as they walked further into the lab. Even though she was certain that she wouldn’t be recognized so easily, what with the large span of time since she had run away, she wasn’t about to take her chances.” Got it,”Klaus agreed with a quick nod, looking as inconspicuous as he possibly could as he glanced fervently around the interior of the building. Phoenix quickly spotted the Professor soon enough, she certainly wasn’t hard to miss with her light brown hair done in an updo sort of style and the blocky-looking red earrings she sported. ” Hello Professor Juniper,” the fiery-haired girl greeted as politely as possible, putting on her best formal demeanor as she dipped her head, ” My name is Phoenix Chu, I’m looking to get a starter Pokemon as a start to my new journey. Juniper looked up from a few papers when her name was called, flashing both Phoenix and her companion a smile once her eyes settled onto the pair. "A pleasure to meet you, Phoenix, and of course." she stood to her feet, shuffling her papers and filing them away for later, before striding over to collect a pokeball. The woman always found it funny when trainers asked her if she had a certain pokemon in stock, she'd never once heard of a professor who'd ran out of a starter, no matter how popular, not even Birch! While she kept herself amused with her own thoughts she collected the requested Oshawott, along with a few key items Phoenix would need: pokeballs, potions, and of course a Pokedex. "Here you are, one Oshawott and a few items to help you along the way."

☆ ☆【Phoenix couldn’t help but squirm a bit inwardly when Juniper looked up from her papers towards her and Klaus, trying her best to maintain a straight face regardless. She wasn’t all that used to talking with other people, outside of her adopted parents and Clark at least. She just wasn’t a very social person when it came to strangers, and even though she was sure that the Professor meant well, she still couldn’t help but harbor some feelings of suspicion for the woman. Right now, she was focused only on getting her starter and getting out of her, even though she doubted anyone here would recognize her if they’d seen her face on the missing posters, she wasn’t about to wait around to find out. A small smile lit on her face as Juniper said that it was nice to meet her, giving a short bow in return to the Professor. ” Nice to meet you too, Professor,” she said as politely as she could manage, keeping her sea blue eyes focused on those of the woman before her. Mrs. Chu had taught her that it was crucial to maintain eye contact when you were speaking to someone, and to not let her eyes wander or else they might think that she wasn’t listening to them. As much as Phoenix wanted to avert her gaze and stare at the floor until she got her starter, she forced herself to keep it fixed on the woman. She gave a nervous chuckle as Professor Juniper assured her that there was still an Oshawott left for her, knowing that it was silly of her to ask if they had all been given out. This was a Pokemon lab, for crying out loud, Phoenix knew just as much as anyone that there was never truly a shortage of starter Pokemon to go around considering how many trainers came in and out of here on a daily basis. Nonetheless, she waited patiently as Professor Juniper shuffled and tucked away the papers she’d been working on just moments ago and walk towards the back to retrieve the Pokeball containing Phoenix’s soon-to-be Oshawott.” I don’t see any posters around here, I figured they might’ve gotten rid of whatever ones they did have… We should be in the clear here,”Klaus informed quietly, having done a visual sweep of the place while Phoenix had been addressing Juniper. Still, he could sense his trainer’s nervousness, and gently nudged against her arm in a comforting gesture. The fiery-haired girl smiled softly, reaching a hand up and gently rubbing Klaus’s head in return, feeling glad that he had her back through all of this. His news was certainly reassuring in a sense, but she was still wary of the Professor as well as the many aides that she had working around them in the lab. Still, at least no one had raised any alarms, she could easily be out of here as soon as she obtained her Oshawott. Phoenix sighed softly to herself, knowing that she was probably just worrying her head off about nothing… but she had always been cautious and knew to never give her full trust to anyone until she knew them and their intentions well enough. It had been what kept her alive all these years, after all. She smiled as Juniper came back, handing her a Pokeball, along with a great number of empty capturing capsules, a bunch of Potions, and a Pokedex. Phoenix blinked in surprise at just how much she was getting, it was as if the Professor had all the Pokeballs and Potions in the world to give out to newly starting trainers. Nevertheless, she gladly accepted the proffered items, placing the Oshawott’s Pokeball on her belt and putting away the rest of the items in her bag. ” Thank you, Professor, I’ll take good care of it from here on out,” Phoenix said gratefully with a small smile, gently patting the Oshawott’s Pokeball, ” It’s been a pleasure to meet you, m’am, perhaps we will meet again sometime in the future.” Of course, that was mostly a lie, Phoenix really had no intentions to come back to this lab again once she left. She had to admit that Professor Juniper was a woman who held nothing but good intentions, but Phoenix felt that it would be best to not keep too many ties in one place. She was planning on leaving Unova sometime in the near future, maybe even for good. ” I wish you a good day, Ms. Juniper, and thank you again for the starter,” she added with a nod and a small smile, waving lightly to the Professor as she and Klaus walked towards the door of the lab. Seemed that their journey was more or less getting off to a good start, but Arceus knows just how long that might last.】☆ ☆

Kail had slipped into the shadows a bit, looking around, mostly unnoticed. A few of the Professor's aides gave him odd looks, but he kept enough distance that they didn't question him. He watched as a few other trainers came in, but finally slipped out into view, one hand on his hip, the other by his side, his head slightly bowed with his eyes looking for the Professor. "I'm here for a pokemon," he announced rather simply.

Despite the fact that he'd lived in Unova practically his whole life, the interior of Juniper's lab had managed to stay a mystery; a place that, when imagined, had been a small area filled with wonder and excitement. Of course fantasy never seemed to coincide with reality, and upon entering the laboratory Apollo found himself not in the lands of wonder his hyperactive eleven year old brain had once conjured up and instead found himself in a rather average looking area. A few aides bustled about, a few sparing him passing glances, though one in particular was kind enough to stop long enough to direct the male towards the professor herself.
Even without the aide's assistance, he doubted it would've taken too long to spot the woman. She was the only one who wasn't moving around laboratory, which had about the same activity as a Durant hill, and, besides, that unique hairdo alone ensured that she could always be spotted in a crowd, she wasn't your Average Jane. "Clef." a small scoff from above broke Apollo out of his thoughts and blue irises raised high enough to catch the glimpse of pink that resided on the top of his head. "This fail to impress you?" he asked Ceti, amusement in his tone, and a moment later he received his answer as the Star Pokémon dropped down to the ground to put on fully display her bored expression. "Message received." it seemed that out of the duo, he was the only one who was truly excited to be here. "Luckily, we won't be here longer than five minutes." he said and could only hope that unclear guesstimate of time would satisfy her for now.
Apollo looked up when he heard another voice, his eyes cutting around the building until they landed on a dark haired male nearby. Huh. Had he been here the entire time? An impatient shuffling from below reminded the bright-haired male that he didn't have much time to worry about the presence of a stranger. He turned to smile at Juniper, with these sort of things it was best to stay polite, "I'd like a pokemon as well."

Juniper had hardly had any time to get back to her research before two young men entered the lab, obviously here for their starters. "Hello there! Any chance you might know which starter you'd like? I've got Oshawott, Tepig, and Snivy available to choose from here." She greeted them both with a small smile, then moved about to get things ready. Luckily, her assistants were quite handy and one of them already had gathered the pokeballs, potions and pokedexes for the two males and was standing nearby. She moved back to her desk before returning with three pokeballs holding one of each starter she had available. "Would you like to take a look?" She asked. Though she knew it was part of her job to start new trainers on their journeys and all, she couldn't help but want to get back to her research as soon as she could.

Eying the other male, Kail shifted his weight, but looked back to the Professor as she came over. He folded his arms over his chest, nodding shortly. "I want the flat-faced one," he stated rather bluntly, waving a hand, "The water one. Oshawott." He glanced over at the other guy that was there to get his pokemon, about ready to knock him out of he tried to take the same pokemon-- if there was only one available, that is. He wouldn't throw hits if they didn't have to compete, but he still hoped t he guy had something else in mind.
For now, he was sort of.. ignoring him for the most part, though.
