Dark Cave (Japanese: くらやみのほらあな Dark Cave) is a single-level cave located in eastern Johto. Though it is not necessary to enter the cave to complete the storyline, Dark Cave is the only place in the Generation II games to capture wild Dunsparce and Wobbuffet. As its name implies, Flash is required to illuminate the cave. The cave is unique in that the cave is separated into two parts, yet the cave does not change floors between the two areas.

Big Mushroom: Effect: These mushrooms are used to teach a single Pokemon one Egg Move. To Obtain: 30 posts Notes: Moves can be from past generations of games but the guild refers to the latest games for the basic list.
Black Glasses: Effect: Dark type attacks do x1.2 damage To Obtain: 30 posts
Black Flute:When played, attracts one wild pokemon of choice from the available list of pokemon in the area the flute is played. Note: The item is consumed after one use, and still costs Wild Pokemon Post counters to battle. To Obtain: 10 Posts
-3 rp posts are required, then roll a 6-sided dice. This will determine the Pokemon that appears. In the next post, roll a 4-sided dice to determine level of the wild Pokemon.

The path to Dark Cave was quite the trek, but it look Eon, Saga and Zoro little time to reach. Once they had however, Eon understood almost right away why it had been named 'dark' cave. She couldn't see anymore then a foot inside the cave before everything became an inky blackness. "That certainly is dark." Eon commented, peering in a bit closer. She could just barely make out the faint lights in the darkness, likely Flashlights. Speaking of Flashlights, Eon only then realized she didn't have one. "I can see in the dark just fine." Zoro spoke up, stepping up along side Eon. "Just hold onto me." He stated. Eon really wasn't to sure about this plan, but without any other choice she obeyed. The only thing was...despite looking like a boy, he wasn't really human sized. The Zorua in disguise sat barely a foot off the ground. "I'm going to have to carry you..." Eon muttered. "If you want me to hold onto you." Zoro's gaze shifted, almost like he was embarrassed. "It'll only be until we reach the other scientist, then you can change back." Eon stated. "If anyone comes and tries to harm you , I'll put'em in their place. Promise." That really wasn't what he was embarrassed about. "F-fine..." He muttered. The boy that stood before them vanished like the switch of a light, in his place stood a pint-sized fox. Hopping up onto Eon's back, the fox perched himself on her shoulder. "I'm not being carried in your arms...Like some baby..." Eon chuckled at this. "Of course not." Looking down at Saga, Eon grabbed hold of the Grass-types hand. "Saga you can see in the dark too, right?" The gecko nodded. "Okay... Good, 'cause I sure as heck can't."

Deeper in the cave, Eon found herself walking along the wall. The lights in the distance grew brighter, soon followed by the sounds of voices talking. "Excuse me?" Eon called. The voices broke for a moment, the light from the flashlights cast over towards Eon. "I'm here to help you, I was sent by Professor Birch's assistant?" The voices once more grew into a chatter. Approaching Eon first was a tall male, dressed in a long white coat, covered in dirt from moving around the cave. "Professor Birch's assistant sent you here?" He asked, basically repeating Eon's statement. The amnesiac nodded regardless. "Oh, splendid!" He shouted. "Ahem..." Calming himself, the male turned to his colleges. "Well, the situation right now is as follows.." He began. "We were transporting some Pokemon from another region to Professor Elm's lab, since he was interested in raising some, but something attacked us from out of nowhere and everyone scattered in a panic." The man sighed. Turning back to Eon he motioned towards his companions. "We've collected all but one." So this was what they needed help with? Why was a trainer necessary? "What Pokemon is it?" Eon asked, deciding to at least get that much information out of them. "A Pancham." Pancham? Eon had never heard that name before... Or at least she didn't recognize it. "Pancham is from the Kalos Region. It's part dark, so that's why we're having troubles locating him. He is.... rather difficult to handle." A Dark-type? Well, perhaps Eon could help after all. Glancing over to the Zorua on her shoulder she smiled over towards him. Right away Zoro knew what was going to be asked of him. "Fine." He stated, leaping down from Eon's shoulder. Eon herself looked up at the male and his companions and nodded. "Alright we'll help you find this Pancham."
With that, Eon continued on deeper into the dark cave. The sounds that followed after them were rather eerie. Hugging herself, the Amnesiac followed in a tip-toe pace, leaving Zoro to stop every so often so she could catch up. Eventually, the sound of running water soon echoed within the cave. Following it, they found themselves at an underground river. As they approached, a shadow shifted from the water, dashing towards some nearby rocks. "Zoro, stop it!" Eon called, looking around as she heard the reverberations of her voice come back towards her. Shouting was likely not the best of ideas, since this woke up an entire colony of Zubats... angry Zubats. In less then a few seconds the group was suddenly swarmed with Zubats swooping down and trying to attack Eon, Saga and Zoro. Eventually some of the Zubat found the Pancham in hiding and began to attack him as well... And if the Chaos just couldn't get any worse, the earth began to shake, and a large crack in the earth formed, sucking in all around it... Eon and Pokemon alike.

Eon's entrance wasn't at all like her exit. Instead of falling up from the floor, she fell from a wall, face first into the dirt covered cave floor. Managing to use her hands to keep from actually eating dirt, she still sat up with a gross feeling all over her body. Wiping away the dirt she soon found herself blinded by the light of a flashlight. "Who's there?!" Someone shouted. Quick footsteps rushed towards Eon before finally stopping. "Oh, it's you... the girl from earlier." The voice added, lowering the flashlight out of Eon's eyes. "Y-yea" She replied. "It's me." Standing up, she quickly brushed herself off. Looking up she spotted the a not to familiar face. "Did you see any of my other colleges?" He asked. The worried look in his eyes suggested much. He was obviously stressed beyond belief. So was Eon. She wanted nothing more than to just return to Violet City, get a good hot shower in, then sleep for about a day. Even still, she wasn't going to leave this poor dude empty handed. "I saw some of them. Everyone was pretty scattered, and I ended up wandering far from where I'd entered. I'm sure they've found other portals out of that place. It was pure chaos to say the least." Eon rose a hand to her cheek. Maybe that wasn't the best way to word it. "Other than gravity and the natural logic of this world, that one didn't seem all to harmful." She tried a smile, only to find the male's skin had gone colourless. Waving a hand, she also noticed he'd fainted. "Oh dear..." Eon huffed. "Saga, Zoro...." Calling both of them out, she motioned towards the male. "Could you guys help me carry him back to Violet City?" What was with helping so many people today? Speaking of which... Where did that guy go that they'd found before? Didn't he follow Eon through the portal? Did the same portal take him someplace else? Hopefully that was the case, and it wasn't something worse... Like the portal closing just after she'd entered, making him fall into the void. That thought also reminded her of the crazy woman she'd left in a hole...

With Saga hefting the man's legs, and Eon holding an arm, the duo were lead back outside the cave by Zoro. With little visual on which way she was walking, Eon took things fairly slow. She really didn't feel like tripping over something in the dark, ending up with a rather heafty guy laying on top of her. Walking backwards was hard enough to do in the light, let alone in the pitch black. One thing was for sure, she certainly was getting her exercise today.

By the time the group had made it to the exit of the cave, the sun had set far below the horizon. It was night time now, likely around 8pm or so. Eon furrowed her brow, looking up at the sky in attempts to find the moon, but a thick cover of clouds had came across the sky. The sounds of something rumbling in the distance made Eon wonder if there was a storm heading their way, or if they'd just missed it. Perhaps the odd weather was due to the opening and closing of those portals. Eon felt she needed someone's help figuring out what that place was... rather where it was. Regardless, Her break was shut down when the male began to wake from his fainted state. When he sat up, the colour that had returned to his face, vanished once more. "You alright?" Eon asked, nearly making the man jump out of his skin. He turned his head so fast, Eon though he might have snapped it.. it did seem to cause him pain.Reaching up a hand to rub at his neck, the man sighed. "Yes...I think I'm alright. What happened?" Eon rolled her eyes with a smile. "You fainted." She replied. "Anyway, think you can handle yourself from here? I may be young, but I'm not a strong woman." She added, holding up her arm as if flexing. Eon was in a way fit, but not fit enough to be carrying around a 2oo+ pound male. The man nodded, lifting himself up to his feet. "Yes. I should be fine. I'll head back to our camp. Thank you." Bowing his good-bye the man headed off in the opposite direction. Eon herself looked down at Saga, then exchanged a quick look with Zoro before shrugging and turning towards the road to Violet City.

Terrence really didn't like this place, it was eerie and if he was being honest it smelt kind of odd too. He couldn't put his finger on what it smelled like, but to be fair he probably didn't want to know. He rubbed his arm, Az sitting protectively on his shoulder like always as they made their way through the cave. Eventually they got to the area they were supposed to use to get to blackthorn city. He pursed his lips, using the pager they gave out for the Easter event. All of a sudden a Lapras came and offered him a ride to the city. He gulped before getting on hesitantly. It was odd, riding on the back of a lapras like this over the ocean. It wasn't bad but it was still a new feeling to him. He rubbed Lapras' neck and thanked it before they headed towards their destination.

Terrence looked over the water, as he left the city behind. He wondered if he'd ever go back anytime soon, probably not. However, he'd make sure to make a note to come back here again some other time, after all he did want to challenge the gym leader that was there after all. If he ever got that strong, he still didn't even know if he'd make it. Pursing his lips at the thought, he hadn't noticed that they had arrived back at the dark cave. He thanked Lapras once more, before getting off and waving goodbye. With that, Terrence made his way out of the cave, moving towards the last egg location in the Johto region.

It would seem that Lucille hadn't read her map quite as carefully as she should have, as instead of taking the easy route to Violet city, she and her two Pokemon ended up in what the locals called, "Dark Cave." It was a route that would take her to Violet City, sure, but it was much more treacherous than going the other way. However, the young lady's excitement kept her from getting too scared to continue forward. The way she saw it, she would have to face all sorts of things if she planned on having a proper adventure.
She was on foot, holding onto Samson's vest with one hand, and using her video camera's night mode as a way to see. This is a really creepy cave, she thought. She could see the outline of the cave walls, and a few Pokemon skittering around in the far-off reaches of the cave. At this rate, I'll drain the battery using night mode...hm, maybe I can make a torch or something... The mute stopped Samson, and checked her bag for something she could use. After a little rummaging, she found herself the set of incense sticks she had. Ah! Maybe that'll work! She opened the packaging, and decided to use the biggest one, the one that was wrapped separately. With a little help from Samson's internal flame, the incense stick was lit. It provided a little light, but it would soon go out, only providing a nice, licorice-like scent. Oh, darn...well, at least it'll smell good! Maybe I can find a branch or something instead.
While Lucille and Samson looked for something to use as a torch, Lil Gena lagged behind, sniffing at the air and biting different rocks to get a feel for them. It was during that time that Gena felt something...off. It was at that moment that the little gator saw a Sneasel sneak out of the darkness. It stared down Gena, trying to intimidate her, but soon realized that was a bad idea when the gator scratched it up something fierce. By the time the fight was over, Lucille came back with a piece of old wood ablaze as a torch. The incense stick was attached to it so the nice smell would follow them. Oh, Gena! Did you get into a fight?
Before she could think harder on it, a cacophony of Pokemon noises filled the cave. Samson tensed up and barked loudly at the noises, while Gena lowered her head and growled. What on earth is going on!?

As the team continued further down the trail, another wild Pokemon attacked, once more a dark type. This time however, it was a Houndour that burst from the darkness. It fired off a blast of flame towards them, but Gena took the brunt of the attack. Whoa! Gena doesn't look too hurt! That's right, she's a water type, so she should come out on top of this one! Since the little gator only knew one real attack, Lucille snapped her fingers and directed Gena to scratch the Houndour. And Lil Gena did so with no real effort. Nevertheless, Lucille pulled out a potion and made sure Gena was all healed up before they sallied forth.

Further into the cave, a large, sandy path lead towards a body of water that ran through it. Gena waddled to it immediately, and started to drink from the water with earnest. Hm, she must be thirsty, Lucille deduced. Samson seemed to be in the same boat, and cautiously walked over to the water for a sip as well.
But, the arcanine's ears perked up as another threat revealed itself: A sandile crawled out from the sand, and hissed at Lucille angrily. Samson forced himself between the two, but it was Gena that too out the Sandile. She jutted her maw forward, and let a heavy stream of water jet out and strike the Sandile. And even though the Sandile made a counter attack, two water guns was all it took to clinch victory once again. Whew! I'm glad I have you two around! She bowed to Samson and Gena, and plopped down on the sandy floor. Let's just take a little break before we go any further.

After taking a little break, Lucille stood up, dusted off her bottom, and rallied her team. Samson got up a little slower than the eager gator, but he was soon right at his trainer's side, ready to step in at a moment's notice. Gena, however, was eager to keep fighting, as was Lucille; sure, Pokemon were attacking in droves, but it was a good experience for some, well, experience. So, instead of getting nervous about the sudden amount of aggravated Pokemon in the cave, Lucille turned on her camera once again, and hit record this time. This will be a good chance to get some neat footage! That way I can study Gena's moves!
The moment came when another Houndour attacked. With Gena's newfound use of Water Gun, however, she easily dispatched it without getting too hurt. Lucille made sure to tend to her afterwards, and gave the gator some gentle pets as a reward.

With the camera rolling, Lucille got some footage of Gena's next fight. A Purrloin came to fight them this time, and it hissed at Gena, trying to shake her resolve. Lucille zoomed in on the Purrloin when it was struck by a jet of water from Gena, just as it sputtered and hissed even louder. Gena looked to Lucille for direction, at which point Gena made a splashing movement with her free hand (having Samson hold the torch, of course). That became the sign for Water Gun, so the little gator blasted the purple cat once again, ending the fight. Gena did a little victory dance, and Lucille gave Gena a thumbs up before flicking off the camera.

Lucille took a moment to replay the footage, and beamed. It looked great, to say the least (at least in her opinion), and she would definitely put it up when she made it to Violet City. Now that she was done with the camera, she bagged it, and took the torch back from Samson. Such a good boy! She didn't want Samson to feel like he was second fiddle to the new member of their team, so she made sure to give him often loves. Not that Samson was complaining; he always liked having his mane scratched. Once she finished giving Samson affection, she looked off into the distance, where she saw... a light?
Oh, maybe there's someone else traveling the trail! Maybe they know the way out! She and Gena both got excited, and started off towards the light. Luckily, Samson was much more alert than both of them, and he grabbed Lucille by her sweater with his teeth, and Gena's whole body with his large paws. Hey! I guess he wants more cuddles?...oh. My. Gosh. The light she had seen wasn't a torch, but the moving monoeye of a Duskull, which crept towards the team in a...well, it was really a leisurely pace. It didn't even seem to be paying any attention to them until Lucille started to flail and freak out. GHOST! AH! NONONONONONO! she started to hyperventilate, and she found herself jumping onto Samson's back and burying her face in his fluff, as if not seeing it would keep her safe. Samson was unperturbed, and only looked at Gena as if to say, "Do you think you could take care of that?" Gena complied, and fought off the Duskull with ease.
Once the ghost was dispatched, Lucille popped her head out of her fluffy hiding place, and let out a sigh of relief. Whoa...that was so lame of me...still afraid of ghosts, at my age! Still, she got to her own feet, and praised Lil Gena for her good job. She found the torch (that she had thrown in her panic), and pushed forward.

It seemed that they were getting closer to the end of the cave, as there started to be signs put up in places, leading the way out. Lucille was glad to see them, because even though she was having a ball, she was growing wary of the cave. Especially after the Duskull; Ghosts gave her the willies, so she would be more than happy to leave the cave behind.
But, before she did so, she found a strange pathway that seemed to have led to a little alcove. The mute's curiosity got the better of her, and she led her team towards it. There didn't seem to be anything of importance, once inside of it. Lucille looked around, and felt slightly disappointed. I was really hoping to find a treasure or something. That's how it usually works when you go off the beaten path... But, right when she was going to call it quits, she found something in the far end of the alcove: an old helmet.
Lucille ooo'd inaudibly, and quickly made her way over to it. Hehe, no way! This is so cool! She picked it up, and looked over its design. It was black in color, with what had to have been a gold-colored trim. It had a visor, but it seemed to be rusted shut. Still, it looked so cool to the mute. I gotta get a video of me in this! She took the time to mount the torch, set up her tripod, and mount her camera, ready to record. She waved into the camera, and did a little signing: Hello, it's me, Lucille! Today, I'm exploring Dark Cave with Samson and Gena! And I found something really cool! Lucille held up the helmet for the camera to see, and tucked it under her armpit to sign some more. Pretty cool, huh? I bet I would look really silly with it on! She got ready to put it on, but Samson started to bark at the helmet urgently. What's wrong, Samson? It's just a dirty ol' helmet. Shrugging off the warning from Samson, she plopped the helmet onto her head.
And suddenly, a feeling of dread came over her as she felt all of her energy being sucked out of her body through her head! She grabbed the helmet in a failing attempt to pull it off her head, unable to scream. She heard a different voice, however, a frantic voice that was overjoyed, almost to a state of lust. Oh, yes! It's been so long since I've felt the vigor of energy! So scrumptious! So divine! Gena was going to try to help, but a Sandile dug up from the ground, and cut her off. But, that was fine, as Samson was finally stepping in. His charge was in danger, officially, and as a service Pokemon, he had a duty to help.
Unfortunately, Lucille wasn't making it easy on him; she couldn't see anything in the helmet, a strange miasma coating her face. GHOST HELMET! NONONONONO! SAMSON SAVE MEEEEE! Every time Samson got close, the mute was fling herself in another direction, bonking her head onto the cave walls. No one can save you, mon cher, the voice replied. It caught Lucille off guard, how ladylike it sounded. I won't let go until I get my fill, and you'll surely die before then! Je suis désolé, but your soul just tastes so good! Tre magnifique! I couldn't possibly leave anything to waste! Lucille's protests started to waver as she realized that the helmet read her mind. She wanted to react, to plead, but her head felt so empty. her legs felt so heavy, and she was sure that this was it. Sorry mom...dad...I guess you were right....
But, Samson had different plans. Now that she wasn't moving around so much, Samson pounced on the girl, lit his fangs ablaze, and deftly clamped onto the helmet and ripped it from her head. The helmet started to make a screech of pain as Samson shook it vigorously in his mouth. Stop! Arrêtez! Please yield, so I may apologize! The arcanine flung the helmet into the wall, and roared loudly at it. The helmet clanked as it hit the floor, and started to shake and shudder. Je suis désolé! Je suis désolé! Je suis désolééééééééé! Samson held his ground, and Lil' Gena filled in the gap, having fought off the Sandile. The helmet continued to shudder and shake, but all of them stopped once Lucille stirred.
She felt like she hadn't slept in days, and she was as pale as a sheet. She moaned inaudibly as she got to her knees, and Samson quickly went to her side to help her up. Samson...thank you for saving me... The mute looked to the helmet, and thought at it. I hope you're ready to get beat up, because that really hurt! Samson growled at the helmet again, which scared it even more. Please! Have mercy! I'm truly, truly sorry for my actions! I was just so hungry... Lucille furrowed her brow at the helmet. Hungry? You tried to eat my soul! The helmet nodded. Oui, I did. But, it is only because I need spirit energy to survive, now that I'm stuck in this cursed form.... That caught the girl's attention, and she actually ordered Samson and Gena to sit, and stand down. So...you're a g-g-ghost, then? Stuck in a helmet? The helmet nodded, and explained further. That is correct, mon cher. I am scant on the details, but I know at least that I was a knight before I died. And now, I am...this. The sadness and confusion in its voice actually made Lucille feel a little bad for the helmet. The helmet shook its head (well, it's entire body) in response. No, I can draw some from anyone that's nearby. I only reacted the way I did because you put me on your head. Once again, I apologize for that.
Lucille smiled, and suddenly grabbed the helmet. Well, I can't really let you stay here all by yourself, Lucille thought. Otherwise, you'll ned up on someone else's head and the'll end up dead. So, you'll just have to come with me! The helmet gasped in surprise (as did Samson, who didn't trust it as far as he could throw it). Honest and true? Mon cher, I am forever in you debt! If I had a body, I would kneel to you, my dear lady! Arceus bless your gentle hear! Lucille let out a silent laugh, and tucked the helmet under her arm. Don't thank me yet! I'm gonna put you to work, since you can talk to me like this! Yup, I got big plans for us!
And, with danger finally averted, The team and their newfound member, left the Dark Cave behind them.
