How many Monsters can I own? As many as you like! There's no limit.
Do I have to Battle my Monsters? Absolutely not! This shop is what you make of it. That being said, you will have a better chance of gaining items and additional Monsters if you DO battle, but there will be other ways as well.
What about Exploration? Basically, this is Roleplay. Participation is completely voluntary, just like anything else in the shop!
How are Breeding Stats determined? The colorist will roll for a medium number based on the parents' stats. So if the parent's STR stats are 15 and 20 the babies will have STR stats ranging between 14 to 21. The range is -1 from the lowest and +1 to the highest, to allow for a greater range, and the chance to increase stats via breeding.
Because of this, for those of you who battle your monsters and make them stronger that Monster's offspring already has an advantage over other Monsters. It's possible that, with time, very strong Monsters can be bred through this method. It's a great incentive for those who enjoy the battling aspect, while simultaneously it does not affect those who don't wish to battle. We're considering adding a maximum "cap" for stats for newly bred monsters just to keep things from getting too crazy but, for now, this isn't a concern.

NEWBIE GUIDE We'll touch on some of the more important topics here just to give you a general base to go off of. However, you should still read through the additional information available in the sub-forums, particularly those in the [ DATABASE ], especially where it concerns battling and all that goes along with it.
Monsters There are all kinds of different monsters, and this shop is unique in that new monsters species are expected to be released on a fairly consistent basis. Not only that, but there is a chance during breeding that new "hybrid" species may be created. Patrons also have the option of commissioning unique species of their own if an artist is available.
In terms of the setting, they're creatures which can be tamed by people known as Handlers or Monster Wranglers. You're more than welcome to make up a humanoid character if you like! But the focus is definitely on monsters, here -- and battling.
Battling This is an optional aspect of the shop, and somewhat takes the traditional place of "RP" that most other shops utilize. RP is still an option, however, if that's your thing. There's just no perks for it. Rather, perks are gained via items which are generally earned by -- you guessed it -- battling!
There are all types of battling from PvP battles, to Professional Trainers (NPC characters owned by staff), to personal training where it's just you and your monster in a self-run regime to earn points which can later be converted into Stat Points.
That's right -- Stat Points. And you were wondering what those numbers on the cert meant...
Stat Points and Special Abilities Stats and Special Abilities are what most players are going to be trying to improve on. Battling and Training are the only ways to earn Battle Points (BP) or Stat Points (SP). Think of BP as quarters and SP as dollars. With enough BP you can eventually make an SP. SP are used to raise your monster's base stats and make them stronger.
Special Abilities are special attacks, or attributes, a monster can use in battle against other monsters or even during training. You can use SP to raise your Special Abilities level, which will eventually give you access to using Special Abilities.
Another neat feature about stats is that offspring from breedings take a random average from the parents' stats as their own. For those uninterested in battling this may be insignificant, but for those who want to have the very best and strongest monster possible, it adds a completely new dynamic to the field.
Items As mentioned before, there are various items available in this shop. Most items are specifically for the purpose of battling -- raising stats, giving advantages in battle, hindering other monsters in a battle, etc.
Some items, however, can be used outside of battle, such as items for breedings or customs.
Although battling is the most common way to gain items, you can also gain them by participating in events or through Exploration (Roleplay) -- a feature located in the guild which does not require your monster to battle, or be of any particular strength. Sometimes we may even sell items at the "Item Shop" on the main page.
One neat feature about the items at Heebie Jeebies is that they can be traded between players. It adds even more dynamic to the inner-workings of the shop that we hope you will all enjoy.
Exploration Exploration is basically Roleplay! Though it will most often be between players, there may sometimes be shop events that feature Exploration. Though not the main focus of the shop, it's still a fun feature for those who don't particularly enjoy or care for the battle system to still be able to earn Stardust - the shop's in-house currency!
Monster Profiles This is basically a log kept by staff about your Monsters. Each entry contains all the stats and special abilities a monster has, as well as any items the monster owns. Profiles are set up and added automatically, and maintained by staff automatically, so you don't need to do anything to get one.
THAT'S A WRAP! The info here is very brief, and doesn't cover most of the additional information available, but we hope it at least gives you someplace to start!
Remember, if you can't find the answer you need feel free to ask in the main thread or send the mule a PM!

BASIC STAT EFFECTS AND MODIFIERS
STR Stats:
DAMAGE Use the chart to determine how much damage you do based on your STR Score and what you roll on your attack roll.
Example: If a monster's STR is 8, they typically deal between 2-5 damage. If I roll and hit, and get a 10 for my attack roll, they would deal 3 damage. If I rolled a 12, they would deal 4 damage, and so on.
MODIFIERS 00-05 :: -1 dmg on each successful attack 06-10 :: No Change 11-15 :: +1 dmg on each successful attack 16-20 :: +2 dmg on each successful attack ; +1 CRIT chance 21-25 :: +3 dmg on each successful attack 26-30 :: +4 dmg on each successful attack ; +2 CRIT chance
DEX Stats: All monsters begin with an Armor Class (or AC) of 10. Depending on their Dex score this may go up or down, and wearing items that increase AC will also affect the total AC.
MODIFIERS 00-05 :: -1 Armor Class 06-10 :: No Change 11-15 :: +1 Armor Class 16-20 :: +2 Armor Class 21-25 :: +3 Armor Class 26-30 :: +4 Armor Class
HP Stats:
MODIFIERS 00-05 :: Take +1 damage 06-10 :: No Change 11-15 :: Take -1 damage 16-20 :: Take -2 damage // +2 HP Stat 21-25 :: Take -3 damage 26-30 :: Take -4 damage // +4 HP Stat * HP Bonuses do stack, and are applied directly to whatever the monster's current HP Stat is at the time. Thus their total HP goes up by 6 points, and 12 points, respectively.
