Galadel had wandered across the open plain wondering where she was even suppose to go to meet this ‘love doctor.’ She heard about him from a passing Soquili, but wasn’t even sure it was to be trusted. For all she knew the claim was false and she was never going to find him. For her there was a small glimmer of hope that she would find him. She didn’t know if it would ever happen, but it was the only thing she could really hold onto. She had traveled too far now to just turn back because she ended up getting cold feet about the idea.

She stopped and looked around for any kind of life. This was the area she was told he would be. Did she get the location wrong? Maybe this was a horrible idea and she made a mistake in looking for him. She always had many doubts when it came to her own actions. It was one of her only faults. She was constantly having a battle with herself in her head. When it got too bad, she usually did something to distract herself or she would sing a song or something along those lines. She sighed and began to hum a small tune. She used to do this when she was younger. It calmed her and helped her forget about her problems, which she rarely had anyway.

Stretching out her wings, she waited around to see if maybe she could catch him wandering or maybe she wouldn’t see anything at all.

I'm still trying to get a handle on her personality since she still needs development.

Vassilis was out for a flight of sorts. He'd been testing how high he could soar before it became difficult. He hadn't gone high enough to figure it out before he got distracted by the sight of the fields spreading out beneath him. Wanting to get the best view possible he had shifted all three of his wings on either side into position to serve as a single wing so that he could glide. With the less jittery movements he opened the eyes on his wings, twelve in all, and took in more of the view.

For several long minutes he enjoyed himself just going along with the currents of the air and then movement caught his attention. He closed all of his eyes except for the ones on his face so that he could focus better on an individual area. What he found there seemed to be another of his kind except with lovely white feathered wings growing from her sides. He smiled and watched for a while steadily circling lower. Before long it became clear to Vassilis that they were looking for something, but so far as Vassilis had seen there wasn't much to be found in the immediate area.

Deciding that the best course of action would be to ask directly what they were looking for Vassilis unlocked his wings and angled himself into a direct dive. He landed lightly several feet away and gave the other a smile. "Hello! Are you looking for something?" He asked tucking his wings away, keeping the eyes tightly shut so he didn't stab them with his own feathers. The direct approach was the best.

XxXPandamoniumXxX
Well this is a good chance to get her some development then! And same sort of warning about Vassilis, he's gonna be just a tough rough around the edges while I figure out the best way to write for him.

Feeling a slight tinge of hope hit her when the male approached, she greeted him with a small bow of politeness before taking in his appearance. He didn't seem all that frightening even though he had quite a few oddities she had never seen before. She wasn't one to judge and certainly wouldn't start now. It wasn't in her character to do that to anyone. "Yes I am!" She said in an overly excited voice. When she realized how enthused she was, she let out a small cough trying to calm herself down as much as she could. "You might think this is silly, but...I heard about a stallion that can help mares find love." She immediately felt like a fool for saying this to a stallion she didn't even know. For all she knew, he could very well laugh at her for her naive notion that such a stallion exists. She closed her wings tightly onto her back and looked down at the ground for a brief moment before it dawned on her. What if this was the stallion she had been searching for?

Any other time she wouldn't have such luck, but maybe it was him. She wasn't going to ask and simply was going to see where this conversation took her. If it was him, he would at least tell her that much. "I don't know where I'm suppose to find him, but I did hear he stays around these parts. It's hard to find something when you don't even know what your looking for!" She was pretty cheerful considering her predicament at the moment. "Maybe you have heard of him?" She hoped he did or at least was him. She was beginning to get weary from traveling and knew soon she was going to have to rest.

"Oh I'm Galadel by the way. Sorry my brain is elsewhere and I seem to have forgotten my manners." She smiled at the friendly stallion. She really hoped she wasn't making a mistake in being nice to him. That is what frightened her most.

Vassilis couldn’t help but grin at the mare’s enthusiasm. She was just so happy… and didn’t seem at all startled by his appearance. It was a nice change, normally people spent the first few minutes cowering away from him and sometimes they never stopped. She’d come right over to him. He wondered if it was a paw thing, she had them just like him, his sisters, and his father and none of them had ever been scared of him. And so Vassilis found himself very eagerly listening to everything said to him by this mare.

She was looking for someone to help her find love and Vassilis didn’t find this silly at all. Quite the opposite, love was something to be valued and it was admirable to seek it and also to help others find it. The trouble was Vassilis hadn’t ever heard of anyone like that and in flying over he hadn’t seen another living soul. However, he certainly wanted to offer her what help he could in her quest. It didn’t take him long to decide that he would put forth a full effort to assist her. In fact, he’d made his decision by the time she got around to giving him her name.

“I think I’m the only one out here, besides you, Galadel.” He said earnestly. “I’m Vassilis, and I don’t think you’re silly. I think love is wonderful and should definitely be found! Everyone deserves to be loved.”

Galadel perked her ears up from the stallions words. She wasn't being judged for once and he didn't find her silly for what she was doing. Though she had to admit, she was a little put down that she came out here for nothing. That stallion didn't exist and even if he did how was she going to find them anyway? It was a long shot and she really hoped this stallion was the one. The one that would helped her move past her loneliness and finally find love. She never really actively looked for love and she knew why. She was afraid to let someone in and then have her heart broken by that individual. She feared that the most out of anything because she knew she would be a broken mare if it happened. "Oh.." She said lightly as the smile faded from her muzzle and her ears dropped a tiny bit. Now what was she going to do? She was tired from traveling this far and certainly couldn't go home until she had a nice long rest. Sadness didn't suit her one bit so she tried to push that feeling away so that she didn't scare off the stranger.

"It's nice to meet you. Your the first individual I have met in a long time. It's nice to see someone like me for once. I'm use to being around forest creatures." She nodded to him admitting that she pretty much lived the life of a hermit. She didn't really have anyone and grew up alone. It's how things were and she simply adapted to that kind of lifestyle. "Really? You believe that too? Sometimes it's hard to find love especially when you don't know what your looking for or your too afraid to approach it." She nodded stretching her wings for a moment before folding them back down against her back.

"I was really hoping to find someone like that.. I kind of need the help.." She told him perking her head up and giving a small smile. Maybe he was the one? He believed in finding true love and didn't think she was silly. He had to be the stallion. "Can you help me?" She asked him in a cheerful tone. She really hoped he could because she needed it right now. "If you do help me...ummm what would you like in return? I don't have much...umm..I collect trinkets but they are all back at my home. Other then that I simply enjoy nature. I don't have many interesting things for you to take." She stood there thinking really hard on what kind of payment she could give him.

Vassilis tilted his head in a rather puppy-like fashion. Forest creatures? He’d thought she’d been going an entirely different direction with that. He thought she’d been talking about him having paws too, because yes that was very rare to find. He ran back over her words in his head. She had definitely said forest creatures. He couldn’t help but imagine her with a nest of birds in her hair and a host of squirrels riding her back. His imaginings were so vivid that when she began to speak again one of the non-existent birds seemed to be speaking with Galadel’s voice. He shook his head, partly in alarm but mostly to dispel the image, and refocused on Galadel herself rather than what his head could cook up.

“Of course I do.” He replied with an eager nod of his head. Honestly he didn’t want to know what kind of people didn’t feel the same way. They likely wouldn’t be very pleasant. He could sympathize with her plight, except he often had a different problem. He could approach almost anyone (so long as they didn’t have geese) without fear, but they were usually scared of him.

“Help?” He tilted his head the other way looking Galadel over for a second. She needed help and wanted him to assist her. It didn’t take long for him to straighten his head and start grinning anew. She said she was scared of approaching, that was fine, he could do that part for her. All he needed was to know what he was meant to be approaching. “Yes! Yes, I can help you!” He proclaimed far louder than was strictly necessary and with a level of enthusiasm few could hope to achieve.

“But… why would you give me stuff?” Vassilis went back to tilting his head one way and then the next. He hadn’t imagined her saying that had he? He didn’t think so. “I’m happy to help just because it’s good to do, right?” He almost found himself wishing that his sister Diantha was around to explain why she was offering to give him something in return. He just wanted to help and that was enough for him.

Galadel smiled at the content feeling that began to overwhelm her. She was happy he was going to help her and without payment of any kind. She found it a little strange, but then again she didn't really have much experience with the social norms around these lands. "Thank you!" She nearly shouted feeling overjoyed at the fact she was getting help. "I guess I was going to give you things for helping me out...but if your happy with just helping then it's probably better that way. I don't think you would be interested in my trinkets anyway." She said giving him a small nod. She collected anything that fascinated her, but to others it probably appeared to be junk. She loved it though and it kept her busy when she wasn't in the mood for traveling too far.

"So..where should we begin? I'm not really sure how to go about doing this or what I'm really looking for..I haven't thought much on it." She said thinking long and hard about what she could actually say she wanted in a stallion. It was a tough question to answer. There was no such thing as the perfect stallion. She knew this, but she didn't want someone who would harm her in any way. She was a gentle creature and couldn't deal with a brute.

She flicked her tail and watched him closely wondering if he knew a good method to go about this. "I never really...spoke to a stallion before..your actually my first. So I'm kind of new to this whole thing." She nodded waiting for him to say something. She didn't even realize she had been speaking so much until she finally went quiet.

Understanding spread across his face as Galadel explained her reasoning behind giving him things. It was like a reward, like when his mother would give him fresh berries if he did something particularly good as a child. He wasn’t a child now but the concept seemed to be about the same. Still, he didn’t need any tangible reward for helping people. Vassilis honestly just liked to help out whenever he got the chance.

“I don’t want to take your things, but I would like to see them sometime if it’s okay.” Vassilis said with a smile, always with a smile. He didn’t have many things of his own, just what he was wearing and those were gifts from his parents. Seeing anything of hers would definitely have to wait though, it was time to focus on her troubles. It seemed she knew about as much as he did about actually finding love but he had a few ideas for where they could start.

“It’s easy talking to stallions, just talk like you would to anyone else.” He said with a firm nod. He had two sisters and they never spoke to him any differently than anyone else he had met. To Vassilis this was just something that should be easily accepted and integrated into their life. Talking differently to someone just because of their gender simply didn’t make sense to him. “If you have a hard time you could try pretending they’re a forest creature so you feel more comfortable!” Vassilis didn’t know if that would actually help her or not, but if her ever felt scared of someone he got the feeling that pretending they were something familiar would help him. That was the easy part of what she was saying, the rest wouldn’t be so simple.

“I guess… the first real step is… figuring out what you want then.” He said as he looked slightly off to the side. “How about… I ask you some things, like preferences, and you say whatever comes to your mind first. That’s probably what you prefer right? Then we can try to find stallions like that.” It sounded like a decent enough idea to Vassilis. He just hoped Galadel liked it too.

An even wider smile spread across Galadel's muzzle when she heard him say he actually wanted to see her things. This made her happy to hear. No one ever took an interest in her things except for maybe her animal friends. Then again she didn't really socialize with bigger creatures such as herself. "Sure you can see them one day. That would really make me happy if you did." She grinned keeping her eyes on the stallion. She was lucky to have met someone like him. She was very lucky. Most would probably think she was weird or strange.

"Maybe, but sometimes...I guess I get a little flustered." She said to him thinking about how she was speaking to him and felt it would probably be best if she did the same thing she was doing with him. Just saying whatever was on her mind was a good way to start. "I think your right though...I will talk to them how I'm speaking with you." She nodded wagging her tail behind her a little bit. She only did that when she was in a good mood and this stallion was really cheering her up with his words and helping her situation. "Your right. I should just either think of them as you or pretend they are my forest animals!" She grinned imagining that a little in her head, which amused her.

"Sure that sounds like a plan. I might be able to come up with something to help you.." She said and thought really hard about what she would want in a stallion. She already thought about it before so she kind of had an idea. "I definitely want him to be gentle and kind. I don't want anyone evil or mean. Hrm...someone caring also and someone really good with children. That is a must. I want a good father figure for my future children." She said lightly and smiled at the thought before realizing she was rambling on without even being asked a question. "Oops! Sorry I guess I kind of rambled a little bit..But you can ask me anything else you want." She nodded waiting for anything to be asked.

So far so good. Galadel seemed to appreciate Vassilis’s interest in her trinkets and also his advice on how to speak to others. She actually seemed downright chipper over the idea of imagining they were someone else and he couldn’t help to feel both proud and happy that he made the list of people that were easy to speak to. If they could keep tackling obstacles like this Vassilis imagined that they’d find her love before long. If only he really realized how difficult it truly was to find such a thing.

“So… good breeds, nice, and fatherly.” Vassilis summed up her list as simply as he could. They all seemed like good traits to look for in a mate and Vassilis was almost certain that such stallions existed in abundance. It was simply a matter of finding the perfect one now.

“That’s a good start.” He nodded his head firmly. “I guess… some other things would be…” Vassilis trailed off as he tried to think of really good questions. In the end he didn’t seem to have any so he just decided to go with whatever popped into his head. “What sort of things should he like doing? Do you have a favorite eye color? Or mane color? How about a coat color?” As he was asking the questions he began to realize he might have to do a bit of hunting to find something suitable. That was no trouble, but the things she wanted were so broad that he was hoping he could narrow it down to appearance. He wouldn’t know if a soquili was fatherly at a glance, but he could definitely pick out colors from a distance and go from there.

She couldn't help, but feel a little embarrassed by all this. She still didn't know this stallion and he was helping her out of the goodness of his heart. It was something she didn't expect to find and definitely was something that kind of frightened her a little bit. What if he used this against her somehow? She pushed all horrible and negative thoughts from her mind because it was the only way she was going to be able to fully go through with all this. "Yes that is correct!" She said with pep in her voice. She was going to make the most of this and let down her walls a little bit. She had to if she was going to find Mr. Right. It would take time and patience, but she could do it. She knew she could.

When she heard the questions about the preferred stallion, she froze up a little bit. She didn't know what to say or what she would even like in another. This was going to be a lot harder then she had originally thought. "For things...umm...adventuring? I don't really know...I think I would be happy with whatever he liked doing as long as he had time for me." A faint blush appeared on her cheeks at the thought. She didn't know what others did with their free time. She only knew what she liked doing. "I think if I narrowed it down by likes you would have the hardest time trying to find someone suitable. I would be being too picky!" She nodded thinking about the eye color question a little bit more. "Eye color.." She scanned the area for some kind of color because she was utterly clueless. When they fell on Vassilis' she grinned like a fool. "Something like your color. Golden and vibrant should be good. Mane color...it doesn't matter and either does the coat color...I think as long as the eyes are like yours I think it will be fine." She nodded wondering if he understood what she meant about his eyes.

"Umm what I mean is...you have a caring gaze. That is the kind of gaze I want looking at me all the time." She blushed once more feeling annoyed by her cheeks and how they were deceiving her right at that moment. "I think that is enough to start out with don't you? I sure hope it is because I'm a little stumped on what else I could say.." She nodded flicking her tail behind herself feeling even more embarrassed then before.

Good, nice, fatherly, and adventurous. Vassilis’s check list was steadily growing but he wasn’t sure that these things would make the search much easier. Finding someone adventurous seemed a little easier than finding a willing father though. He could just hunt around dangerous looking places until he found someone that fit the other characteristics. Seeking danger was the same thing as being adventurous right? He certainly hoped so. Though, if she wanted someone that would also have time for her then perhaps it would be best to keep the range a bit smaller than what he had initially planned. It would be best if her mystery stallion was close enough for them to meet frequently, then he would be able to have plenty of time for her.

All those things helped but they still weren’t terribly solid bits for him to look for. He perked up slightly at her pick of eye color. “Gold is a good color for eyes.” He said nodding, and it was also something that would be easy for him to check for. Really it seemed to be the only physical trait that she seemed to be entirely certain of so Vassilis would have to do his best to make that work. She seemed like she was trying to back pedal a bit out of her color choice. That wasn’t good, that was the first thing he really had that would be quick to really check for.

“So golden caring eyes. I can do that.” He nodded firmly hoping that she was just adding more criteria and not changing her answer. He noticed that she was turning a little pink around the edges but he tried not to think about it too much. She probably just found the whole situation a bit odd since he was practically a perfect stranger. “So you want a good breed, that will be nice and make a good father. You want him to like adventure and you want him to have warm, caring, gold eyes. Anything else you want to add?” He felt quite sure that he could at least start a hunt with this information.

XxXPandamoniumXxX
I second that statement!
PostPosted: Mon Mar 02, 2015 11:46 am

She gave a nod to show that everything she had stated was correct. As embarrassing as this was, it was a little fun because she had no idea who she was going to meet. She didn't know what they would look like or how they would act. There was something a little exciting about it, but also terrifying. "No I don't want to add anything else. If I think of something though..the next time we meet I will let you know!" She smiled feeling a little more confident about this then earlier. But then a small twinge of worry filled her heart at the thought of having to find Vassilis again. She was never a good tracker, so she didn't know how she would meet him. "How will we meet again? Maybe...this spot or I could take you to my small home deep in the woods? I'm a terrible tracker so finding this place again would be difficult for me, but not my home. I have been there so much that I know the way like the back of my paw." She grinned once more wondering what he would say and now she was worried she didn't tidy the place up before she left.

She rarely had visitors, so she was sure the place was a mess. "If you wanted to go there right now...it's about half a days journey." She didn't want to pressure him into doing anything he didn't want to do, but she was overly excited about this. Not to mention a little nervous that he would want to go with her to her home and see what kind of recluse she was. She didn't want to leave any bad impressions on the stranger.

Vassilis hadn’t thought of how they were to find each other again after he started searching. So it was definitely a good thing that Galadel was actually bothering to use her brain unlike him. He glanced around the area. The spot in which they stood was virtually indistinguishable from anything else in the area. He was no expert tracker himself but he got the feeling that anyone would have a hard time finding this place twice.

“I… thiiink your home would probably make a better meeting place.” He said with a small smile. “And then you won’t have to go anywhere to find love. Since I’ll just bring them straight to you at home!” His smile turned into a full-fledged grin at that. It sounded like a perfectly wonderful idea to Vassilis and a little trip never bothered him.

“We should go right now, then I can get started faster for you!” He was practically bouncing with enthusiasm over the idea of getting to go somewhere. “You lead the way?” It only made sense, seeing as Vassilis had no idea where she lived.
