Overall Minion Definition and System Explanation A Dictionary Definition of the Word 'Minion': "a servile follower or subordinate of a person in power."
The old Minion System was brought about during Generation 1 of the guild to help out an ailing Villain Population. However, the mechanic proved to be so popular (and needed to an extent) that we have decided to remake it and bring it back during Generation 2.
It's pretty much the exact same system as before: If you are a villain and it would make sense for you to have minions or gang members (i.e: If you were the Joker or Harley Quinn or even R'as Al Ghul with the League of Assassins) then you could roleplay out having those "Minions" working for you. These minions could do a whole bunch of things like rob stuff for you or even protect you from a Hero whom is trying to catch you.
However, there were only two legal and allowed Minion Configurations within All Along the Watchtower. These two methods are still in force. You may either:
1. Have up to ten [10] "Standard" Minions which were quite weak but useful. These can be used anytime, anywhere and refill automatically upon defeat. These do not need approval.
- OR - 2. Have three [3] "Unique" Minions which were fewer in number but a lot stronger. These would be listed as weapons in your profile and approved before use. If a Unique Minion dies you must make another and have that approved before using it in RP.
YOU CANNOT MIX CONFIGURATIONS! PICK ONE!
That's quite a lot to take in though. So, check out below for what each of these minion types mean and the limitations for different Minion sets.

Unique Minion Explanation and Limitations
Although they are the second configuration in the Minion System, Unique Minions are the hardest to explain and therefore shall be explained first. So, let's do this!
Unique Minions are very different from your Standard Minions whereas Standard Minions are basically a collective horde resource you can use to throw at tasks or opponents, a Unique Minion can act individually and actually trouble a hero if used correctly. Obviously, they won't all be as strong as actual RPCs controlled by players but you could easily count them as a 0.5 values in terms of a character (if a character is 1). So that's the more official side of it. But there is a lot more to Unique Minions than Math and the ability to act as individuals; if that was what made them so special then why could we not just have 10 Unique Minions like Standard Minions?
The answer to that is actually pretty simple: Unique Minions have personalities and powers. Unique Minions can have their own skill sets, powers, personalities and background whereas Standard Minions act as a collective. These traits allow them not only to be able to fight and do things that Standard Minions couldn't possibly do but it also allows them to act as a representative for your RPC. You essentially get three mini RPCs you can use to pass the time or further your cause or even create plot points by sending them to talk to other RPCs. They're pretty cool and come with a lot of different benefits.
However, the Unique Minion is a great responsibility and requires a lot of work to maintain. There are many rules regarding Unique Minions and certain criteria that must be met in order to be able to keep your UMs [Unique Minions] or register them.
Unique Minion Regulations and Guidelines ● A Max of 3 Unique Minions per Villain ● Heroes cannot use Unique Minions unless it is under exceptional circumstances. If it would make sense for your Hero to use a Unique Minion and you give a good logical reasoning then sure, go for it but I warn you that it must be watertight and to an exceptional standard! ● Unique Minions can be defeated. They are not invincible. ● Unique Minions must all be separately listed under the Weapons section of your profile. ● Unique Minions must be approved before use. ● If a Unique Minion dies, it must be removed from your profile. ● If you wish to replace a dead Unique Minion your profile must undergo the Application Process again. ● No Kryptonian, Daxamite, Reach Scarab User or Lantern Unique Minions please. ● Unique Minions can be sent out alone and act basically as an RPC. ● Unique Minions may interact with their Boss, thus making an exception to the "No Interpersonal Character Contact Rule". ● However, Unique Minions of your making cannot interact with any Hero you currently play. ● You cannot use Unique Minions as well as Standard Minions. ● Unique Minions cannot have Unique Minions or Standard Minions.
Hopefully, this guide and rule set was useful. If you have any questions please put them in The Forum Topic in the Rules and Regulations Forum.

Standard Minion Explanation and Limitations
Standard Minions are pretty dull compared to their UM brethren but, all in all, can be just as useful. A bog standard collective of people whom aspire to fulfill an objective or embody a mindset, Standard Minions can be used to do things within the Roleplay as well as reinforce Villain RPCs. Sure, they won't cause many people trouble like UMs but Standards can be somewhat overwhelming and hard to combat for even a small group of RPCs.
With the right RPer, they can still be used tactically and even without powers and personalities can be somewhat frightening. What's more is that they are somewhat easier to maintain than Uniques.
The rules and regulations are as stated below.
Standard Minion Guidlines and Regulations ● There is a max of 10 Standard Minions per villain RPC. ● Standard Minions can be refilled by either: a) leaving an area completely and going to another thread but RPing picking up reinforcements. or b) Calling for reinforcements and waiting at least 4 posts. ● Standard Minions do not need to go on your profile. ● Standard Minions should be somewhat troublesome but nowhere near invincible. ● Standard Minions must acts in Groups of at least 2 but otherwise can be sent out in teams to represent your agenda. ● Although you may RP out personalities for when your minions interact with each other/ other RPCs they should be basic and nowhere near as detailed. ● Standard Minions may have standard weaponry with no modifications or special abilities. ● Standard Minions cannot have specialist skills. ● Standard Minions cannot have superpowers. ● Standard Minions cannot have Unique or Standard Minions of their own. ● Animals do not count as Minions unless they are enhanced or special. ● Heroes may have Standard Minions if it makes sense for them but this will be rare and will need to be exceptional.

Possible Bosses and Minion Types
This post is just to give some examples of characters whom could really benefit and have fun with the minion system. Not only are we so generous as to give you and idea as to who can use minions but we'll also give you some "minion type" examples next to the mentioned characters below!
Ain't we awesome?
● Ra's al Ghul ~ Ninjas Ra's is the head of the League of Assassins. He has his own personal army of ninjas for christ sake! USE THEM!
● Gorilla Grodd - Gorillas Grodd has always been shown with armies of primates at his back. So why not bring the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes using him?
● The Penguin - Hoodlums The Penguin is one of the most influential Crime Bosses in Gotham; so it makes sense that he has some heavies on the payroll to do his dirty work. Making use of these could seriously make up for Penguins own problems.
● Sinestro - Manhunters Although Sinestro is powerful, he is one Korugarian. The Manhunters have also been inducted into the Sinestro Corps on many occasions acting as throw away infantry. So, these would be useful for a RPer playing Sinestro if they wanted to stay in character and delegate jobs that are "too low" for Sinestro to bother with to these tin cans.
PLEASE NOTE: We did not include every example as to who would use minions and what minions would they use because, well, it should be obvious and it would take forever to do so. But remember, not everyone is suited to using the Minion system whether it is because they are too strong or because it just wouldn't make sense in their lore. So please, if you are unsure as to whether or not your RPC would be in line for some hired help just ask. We don't bit. We'll see you straight.
