Welcome to Monster Hunters United! Gaia Online's ORIGINAL Monster Hunter community!
New to the guild and would like to introduce yourself? Feel free to post here!
You can give a description about yourself, your personal life story, your gaming experience,(especially if it has to do with Monster Hunter!) or anything else that comes to mind that you'd like to include in the means of telling others about yourself!
I am Zvahl, the original creator of the guild- I've played Monster Hunter sometime before the first PSP release; when one of my personal friends got me into the game. He would tell me about the game all the time and how you could cut off wyvern tails and destroy their wings and just mess their s**t up in general. This was during the time of the internets infancy so there was no real way to kind of "google" anything and actually get full details of something, so I thought he was just pulling my chain.
I found 2 pre-owned copies of Monster Hunter and bought them both, one of them went to my other personal friend who never got past Rathalos because of the notorious infinite flight move it does. (Rathalos was a b***h back in the day, because he enjoyed running out the hunt timer.)
I don't recall the progress I made in that release, all I remember is I got stuck at the mall I bought Monster Hunter Freedom at and spent all day on the bench until I got picked up by my parents when the mall closed and played Monster Hunter Freedom all day at the mall.
I've logged over 300+ hours for every Monster Hunter title release. PS2, PSP, Wii, and 3DS. (Only one I never played was WiiU)
I am very excited for the upcoming Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate release, and I hope to spend some time hunting the good hunt with all of you guys.
After all, I am the Guild Master, and as a Guild Master- I will make sure I do my damnest to help new comers and experts alike!
In closing, Welcome to the Guild!

Whoa hey. Hi there! I found this guild by random chance. Lucky me!
Anyways, HI! Yes. I'm Lural. I'm fairly new to Monster Hunter. One of my good friends from college was constantly telling me about the game and showing me her PSP game and telling me all about things. (You can hunt with bagpipes? What devilry is this!? She loved the hunting horn.)
She talked about it enough that when MH3U was announced, I thought about getting it. When my 2 siblings both said they were getting it, I was sold. I love multiplayer games.
Anyways, MH3U was my first intro to the game, and while I haven't beaten it, not even close, really, I've enjoyed it. I spent most of my time in doing multiplayer with my friends, and even managed to talk a coworker into giving the game a go!
Sadly, I didn't really test out the weapons too much, and just stuck with the sword and shield. But I liked it. It suited me well I suppose. I started a second character who was trying out other things, but I much preferred to play as my main and make progress as her.
... ... ...
And then MH4 was announced. I may or may not have pre-ordered the collectors edition within days of the announcement. *cough* And then I got an Email with the demo codes when those came out! I must say, I was thrilled and downloaded it right away. Now I'm in the process of attempting to learn how to handle OTHER weapons beside sword and shield.
I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THE INSECT GLAIVE IT IS NOT EVEN FUNNY! And as a... I guess I'd call myself an intermediate player now, I've gotten fairly decent at it. And I'm getting better at landing on monster's backs! And learning when to not attack and knock my partners off. sweatdrop
Anyways! Let me summarize myself:
I've been gaming since my oldest sibling got an SNES when I was 5 I love RPGs, Fighting games, and puzzle games I'm new to Monster Hunter, but I adore it I can spend hours on character creation for games (I'm looking at you, Skyrim, Fantasy Life, and MH3U.) I love puppies/dogs (This is important. Most non-gaming conversations will relate to canines) I've been on gaia for far too long, and am too stubborn to give up on it.
I think that's enough rambling from me now. Anyways hello again and goodbye! See you on the hunt.

Hello there. I'm XBalmung and I'm a Monster Hunter addict. wait that's not what this is.
I started Monster Hunter with the original game on Ps2 and loved it to death. Definitely didn't know what I was doing back then, but I learned quickly later on. =P Missed out on the PSP games unfortunately due to taking the Nintendo DS route. Though, my friend did let me borrow his for a bit, didn't get the full experience but it was something. Had I played Monster Hunter before I got a Nintendo DS, my decision would have changed. gonk
Uhm, what else do people say about themselves...
I like the Dual Blades. Those are what I main. I was sad to find out they were absolute garbage in the first game, but now they're much more useful and I can't seem to change weapons.
I uh, may or may not have ordered both the collector's edition and the MH4U New 3DS bundle. sweatdrop Monster Hunter is my favorite game series, so I couldn't say no. (Glad I didn't either since the new 3ds sold out after 2 days or so)
It may come as a shock, but I do play games that are not Monster Hunter on the systems in my signature, so if you have any of the systems and we have games we can play together, feel free to let me know. emotion_yatta
And I just realized I spent the entire time talking about Monster Hunter rather than my actual self. OH WELL.

My name's QQueue, I've been on gaia longer than I can't think of. Atleast around the end time of Go Gaia, before avatars were a thing, but I've gone through multiple accounts.
Anyways, introductions are a weird thing, since putting in words who or what I am changes on a daily basis, so I'm going to stick to the topic at hand, MH.
I was first introduced to MH on the PS2, but it never really took with me. Then came MHF for the PSP, and that's where my adventure started. Completed the main game, but never really progressed into the HR ranks, brought my save file over to MHF2 and that's where the hours were sunk. All through high school, for almost 4 years I played that game day in, day out. Out came MHFU, transferred my save yet again, and was able to continue into the newer G rank and high rank quests.
Then came MHTri, and while I was disappointed that Capcom swapped their venue to Nintendo, it was alright, it gave me a reason to explore Nintendo's Wii, but I never really got any other games other than Tri. Got to the the last HRs only to find they were releasing MH3U, and my heart sank. I had sunk more time into a game that was ending, and I couldn't even port my save to the next version, even though, the games were identical.
So I skipped MH3U to say the least. I mean I have it, but the time I had put into MHTri wasn't worth the same time for the same experience on the 3ds or Wii U.
Instead, I CFW'd my PSP, downloaded an ISO of a 97% english patched ISO of MHP3rd, and that took for a pretty long time, as I had replaced what time I would've put into MH3U into MHP3rd.
I also recorded my gameplay and uploaded, but eventually stopped due to time constraints.
Somewhere in that time line, I had also played MHFrontier, as I had bought access to a VPN, and paid online to play the game, with tons of translated guides.
Anyways, my interest peaked with this MH4U demo. I mean I had watched youtube videos online but experiencing it first hand is something completely different.
My main weapons of choice are GS, LS, Hammer and Switch Axe.
Even though the holy trinity was Hammer, Lance and Bow in F2/Unite, I didn't like how Lance handled on it.
Lance handles amazing in MH4U. So the trinity returns.
MH4U main weapons are GS, Switch Axe, Hammer, Lance.

Hi, my name is Lilac, I'm married and have a newborn and i'm on maternity leave. Starting to feel a little bit bored now...been off work for about 4 months now. I didn't know about Monster Hunter until Monster Hunter 3 U came out for wii u. My husband is the one that introduced me to it because his friends played it. So, after he was finished with the game I started to play.
I've gotten not to bad just on my own, I've played multi-player but not with the same person ever a second time. I am kind of hoping to team up with someone in my same experience level, I don't have anyone else to play with really, but someone I could really on to play with you know?
Plus I don't have the same commitment to the game as I could pre-pregnancy. A baby can sure be demanding. I'm not on often because sometimes it gets boring to play by my self.
Anyhow my character is HR3 and I'm in high rank level 8 in Moga village
PM if you are interested btw... smile

the original monster hunter guild? Heh we'll see. I'm SBJ, Black Jinouga #1 fan, I started playing when tri came out on wii ssince untill its release I didn't know bout mh, after seeing what capcom was capable of in mh I decided to buy the rest, unfortunately I wasn't able to get many cos I'm not rollin in dough, I have intentions to buy Mh4u nothing will stop me from doing so I've waited 4 years for its release since it rumored appearance on the internet. I have been using Colors!3D to Improve the Sonic fandom by choosing monster hunter monsters as species instead of over rated hedgehogs, my mains include Shadow Black the Stygian Zinogre, Lightning the Lagiacrus, Shift the Nargacuga, Colbalt the azure Rathalos and Erebos the Gore Magala, here's a picture I did featuring them from my gallery Colors!3D Tag is #SBJ, hope I have peaked your interest. Hi there, I'm Avarice and I really hate introducing myself lol. Mostly because I am a robot sent from the future to study the ways of you strange humans I either say way to little or babble way to much so here we go!
I am twenty four as of four days ago. My IRL name is Cassidy but I am a guy (I promise) so I usually go by Cass yes the a** joke has been made, you are not original!, but Avarice works if you're uncomfortable with that. I work pretty steadily and spend time with people on skype more often than gaming at the moment but I imagine that will change for at least a while when MH4 comes out.
My first monster hunter game was Freedom for the PSP, and I played it up to Hunter Rank 4 I think in solo (I remember hunting a lot of Kirins but not much after that) and I played Freedom 2 as well. But I never played online with those and didn't know anyone who had the game. I skipped ahead to 3 on the WiiU and low and behold, the game is WAAAAAAY better with other people, go figure in a primarily multiplayer game right?
Anyway my problem remains the same with the not really knowing anyone with the game so I figured I would see if Gaia could have an answer for me and hopefully it does -waves to everyone-
I am mature(ish) mild mannered and usually easy to get along with. I won't be talking everytime we play together (I like to listen audiobooks and music when I play games) but I do see the value in communication in these kinds of games and will be doing it fairly often.
My gaming experience goes way back, like NES back so I have had a lot of time to get pretty damn good lol. My weapons of choice in MH are pretty schizophrenic, I like to try a lot of new ones. I primarily use the Greatsword (but don't worry I rarely XA people flying lol) or the Hammer, but in groups I also enjoy using the Hunting Horn (Because I am good with it and it's really reallllly useful in a group) and the Bow (keeps me on the sidelines while adding exhaustion and effects/hitting harder to hit breakable places).
Anyway, hopefully that didn't blow my space robot from the future cover suck to bad as an intro lol. Send me a pm or something if you wanted to ask more or if you wanted to party up ^_^

Hello, my name is Kent, or Gaufwyn as I call my hunter, and I'm fairly new to Monster Hunter but always up to the challenge...by fairly new I mean I started on Tri on the Wii...
The only things I can think of to say about myself is that I'm 21 and love the games to death. I'll never forget my first time fighting a large monster. I'd only done harvest quests to that point cause my friend was coaching me and I looked at him and said I was gonna hunt the Great Jaggi cause I thought I was ready. He said I needed to practice more. I looked him dead in the eyes and pointed at the screen and just said, without breaking eye contact, "I'm doing it". To this day we say it to each other constantly as a joke.
First time seeing Lagiacrus scared me so much that for the rest of the No Guts No Glory mission I hid on land until it was gone then quickly jumped into the water while whimpering the whole time for it not to come back.
My favorite hunts have been the Phantom Uragaan, where you fight a super small Uragaan that moves at Sonic speeds and looks hilarious, and the Repel the Jhen Mohran event quest because that was the first online quest I tried alone...(Obviously I couldn't complete it solo, but I didn't die once and the ship didn't break apart, so I'm really proud of that)
My favorite monster is the Rathalos, don't ask why I just love it. I can't stand Cha Cha, because he always annoyed me and was never around to help me, but off gathering useless supplies. I can't wait for the Felynes in MH4 because I love cats and customizing Felynes sounds awesome, as well as the new weapons they are adding, even though at heart Great Swords will always be my main weapon of choice. heart
Anyway, that's about it and I'm glad that this guild exists and I hope to meet awesome people here.

Yo!
It's good to see Monster Hunter on Gaia on the rise again! There was a Monster Hunter Official Forum but it has since gone stagnant and too old to post...many good memories and most of my Gaian friends came from there.
I started Monster Hunter back on the PS2. I must've looked at the case every single week at my local video store. I was so skeptical, I'd pick it up and stare...put it back down and move on. I finally did it. I couldn't even beat the Kut Ku except exploiting it with a bowgun. It was brutal. Eventually, I picked it back up once I understood the online elemnt of my PS2 and from there...900+ hours at least. I'd say a large chunk of my high school life was spent in the tavern and out in the wilds. I loved it and met some great people, pre PSN so once I put it down...they were lost for ever, I'd say.
Any original Monster Hunter players out there? My character name was Ryo!
I went overseas with a PSP and found a Japanese copy of MHP3rd. I wasn't able to get it translated to english but I still managed 400hrs. I guess I'm bragging now...anyway!
Since then, I made every effort to stay with Monster Hunter. Managed to get the PSP ones online and so on and so forth. Most recently, I purchased a Wii U just for Ultimate 3rd and met an awesome player on there, we slayed for days! Unfortunately I left my Wii U when I moved. I just found out this was even coming out and holy damn, it's out!
For now, I'll just pretend to enjoy it with you guys.
I always love to reminisce of the old days, did we play together in the past?

Heyo.
I am Ian, or also known as Vindictam. Been into MH since... well... it came out on the PS2. Have the psp versions as well ( even portable 3rd, but iso and translated because I never bothered to learn japanese ). Have both wiiu and 3ds for 3u as well. In my area, there are little to no hunters, so going to conventions once a year wasn't going to cut it for getting into group hunts. So I got a wii u and things have been enjoyable.
Funny enough, when I was first playing it on the ps2, I thought sns was the only weapon I could use, since I assumed it randomly generated your starting weapon ( i was a bit of a derp ). ANYWAYS. trial by fire was the simplest way to put my experiences, until I kept going at it more and more, improving and stuff like that. I was oblivious about trying to get help over the internet and soldiered through until I (unknowingly) had solo'd every offline monster in the game with a poison battle axe ( I was told it was only good for a bug run weapon by more experienced veterans later on. That and my ending set was rathalos with a monoblos helm. I was still kind of derp. ).
While I had portable 3rd, I ended up soloing everything anyways ( because no one else in my school/block played mh let alone know it existed. ). And then I went to Japan.... IT WAS A THING.
anyways, its good to see there's a guild coming back to life. EVERY guild I've ever been in ( rp, and other kinds ) died out years ago.

Greetings,
I'm Gilbolt, I have been playing monster hunter for a number of years since the ps2 release. The last one I played was freedom unite as a bow user and end up getting stuck at tigrex not being able to upgrade anymore of my bows or my gear. Now with the MH4U release I have found my new love with the gunlance.
I bought the new 3ds just for this game so i'm still getting used to the controls also all the new creatures iv never seen yet. I'm not the best hunter around being as i never got far into the games on my own, but hopefully with the online feature maybe ill learn more than I once had hunting with others.

Hey I'm distant and I am an MH veteran! pirate I got the original game because after hearing about what you do in it I was super excited. I've gotten every game since then but usually cant beat the full gathering hall stuff because I lose interest since I dont have many people around to play with me on handhelds. I beat the original and the wii game entirely though and I am sure I can beat this one since their is online play and I can join you all! I have been specializing in dual swords since their return on MH3U, dont have no time for those slower weapons haha. I prefer to wear the Master skull helmet at all times because its so freakin awesome >=D

Yo all! I'm Zero~! Been a fan of the series since a friend got me hooked on FU! Not the best of hunters, but I definitely do not give up. In the past I've mainly used great swords, gun lance, and the hammer, but now I've come to fall in love with the Charge Blade! I've begun only quests and would love to hunt with a team who just wants to have fun and enjoy the game/slay big ol' beasties. Hit me up with a PM if anyone wants to hunt!

Hi guys I am Mist, or Nerdy if you play video games with me. I am currently new, I got monsters hunter for the first time about 5-6 years ago, but I was new and I never found anyone who would help me so I kind of sat the games down and vanished from them. I really wanna get back into it, and I realized Gaia of all places would have a guild so I joined. I love and always have loved the idea of monster hunter and I am hoping to get into it. I do not have monster hunter 4 I currently only have Monster hunter freedom, Monster hunter, and Monster hunter 2 ultimate. (Maybe, I had house fire 4 years ago so I don't know what all I have for my psp). I do plan on getting monster hunter 4 for my 3DS smile

It's worth it, the game is a lot of fun, and I'm sure a few of the members here have no problems going out of their way to actively help someone new.
