Issaly had been taken out and around the local town with Saraf's mother, rumors of the others spotting the youngling shifter with the Oban woman soon spread. The story gradually getting bigger with what some thought of what had occurred to bring the child to an Oban family. The pattern of him being taken to a healers just outside of the town was also talked about. Isaris rested within the healers, his fever had broken and the young shifter had been fed. The healer was an old Wind woman who clicked her tongue a lot and fussed if Isaris pulled himself to sit up. Issaly was visiting his elder brother as dark fell, it wasn't uncommon for the youngling to sleep next to his elder brother. Only to be taken back to the Oban Household by a servant when he was deep in slumber. Tonight the youngling was wide awake as Isaris was stronger than usual...

"Isaris. When will you be able to meet Saraf? He's not that mean." the youngling said as he played with his pendant. His eyes slipped closed as he felt Isaris pet his hair.

"When the healer says I'm allowed to leave here. She's worried my fever may come back..." he wasn't going to say that he heard her mutter something about the sickness being ingrained. The wording unnerve him enough, he didn't feel the need to worry his youngling brother. Issaly seemed convinced as he fell into a comfortable silence, moving to snuggle into the elder's side. Isaris kept his slow pet on his siblings head. He didn't want Issaly to go back to the Oban House...they didn't belong here.

Sauron had been hearing disturbing rumors from the south. It seemed that an Oban lady had aquired a young shifter boy. It was a potential slavery situation and that made Sauron see red. His people were not possesions, they were beautiful souls...for the most part and they deserved more then this. And to do so to a child who could not fight back was just so much more wrong!

He let Kelina know he was going on a trip. He left the kids with her, figuring they would be much safer and he would be much less distracted, then if he worried about them every second. He packed up a small bag and headed down to the location where the rumors said the boy was. He hunted along streets hiding as much as he could in the shadows flitting from place to place. It seemed to be and area of mixed peoples. Still, he felt the need to skulk. He kept his ears alert for updates, eavesdroping as much as he could without being noticed.

Isaris watched as the old healer bustled out. The young shifter didn't move until he felt Issaly move. The child hopped out of the bed to walk to the front door, peeking out. He watched the old healer go to a stall just down the street, looking around the child then looked up to the moon; "Lady Serin...please help big brother get better." he muttered the small prayer before turning back to pad to his brothers side.

Isaris smiled at his baby brother, really the youngling was too precious. Oh he had heard the little prayer, small room. Mentally sending his own up. A prayer for salvation from this predicament. They had the chance to run, if he was stronger.

Sauron got the perfect information source in the form of a chatty baker talking with another Oban. He bought a bun and listened to the tale about the boy's brother needing healing at the local healers. He slunk down that way, and watched the door, a woman popped out then a moment later a small shifter face. Ahah! He had found them.

He peeked up and down the street, no one was there, so he dashed across. "Hello boys my name is Sauron, do you want some help getting back to Jauhar, I heard of your predicament and came to help." He said and knelt before the younger boy so he wouldn't be so intimidating from his full height, his spear canted out to the side.

Issaly squeaked before hiding behind the chair next to his brother's bed. This stranger in front of him looked like them. Oh...it was another Shifter. He peeked out around the wood nodding shyly. Hearing the elders words he looked over to his elder, "But...Saraf and his Mama...what about them?"

Isaris thought quickly, thanking Lady Serin in the process; "They'll be fine." he fibbed. He didn't know if they would or not...but he wanted to get out of Oban. He wanted his brother to have a future, "I'll send them word when we get to a new home. Lets go with Sauron and back to the forest of our home. Please Issaly?"

Issaly blinked looking between the two males, it seemed as if the child need a few more words of encouragement from the new elder. Sauron would have to think fast as the healer could come back at any moment...

"Jauhar is a wonderful place to grow up, at least my children think so, they have learned to scurry through the trees and which fruits are good, how to hide well so they can watch the wildlife undisturbed. My daughter has even found herself a lovely pet. The jungle is good for the soul, and there is not reason whatsoever that you may not return later on to check on your friends, but it might be that with the end of the war so close it might be a bit unstable here, I would rather see you and your brother healthy and safe and wise enough with time to choose whichever path you like."

That was his best ditch effort. If the young lad chose to stay, Sauron would respect that, perhaps if the older brother still wished to leave, he could try with him. Better that both children be healthy then him getting caught trying to take a lad who didn't want to go. It must be terribly confusing for the child.

Issaly stared at the new elder for what seemed hours, it was mere seconds then he glanced to his brother. So many thoughts ran through his mind. What would the new place be like. The child didn't have vivid memories of his home forest. Mostly of sounds of what he assumed was his elder brothers. The youngling blinked as he mused over things to ask his elder brother later on in life. Isaris looked pleadingly at the youngling. Issaly was scared he didn't want to be parted from his brother. The child nodded, "I'll go."

Isaris smiled then nodded to the adult as well, "Me too, I'm not as strong as I should be...but...I dearly want to get out of here." He inhaled sharply as he made to sit up. His head was swimming with warmth as he felt whatever he had eaten attempt to come up. He swallowed thickly before taking a few deep breaths.

Well there was no time to waste, he hastened to get them organized and out the door. He looked at Isaris and picked him up, cradling him to his chest. "I'm sorry lad, but we have to move fast, I'm sure you will be able to outrun me in no time, but for now you get to ride, I'll try to keep it smooth."

He popped his head out the door, and jerked out into the traffic, he looked back to make sure Isaly was behind him and dove into another alley, breathing hard with adrenaline. "I will be much happier when we are far away from here. Its unnatural being so dry and crispy to my eyes." Even his lips were chapped the air seemed to suck away all moisture. "How you doing lads?" He whispered to his companions, he heard noises at the side of the alley he had ran down it made his skin crawl and he led them to the other side.

Isaris' pride was so going to kick his tail later for letting the elder pick him up. He understood though. He really did. He was weak and unable to walk for himself but...he kept glancing back to his little brother. The smaller shifter, the youngling, was doing a great job of keeping up. Isaris heard sounds that weren't around them...the roars of mounts. Screams of parents for their children to run...his Eldest brother's voice echoed in the back of his mind from a much earlier memory.

'Issaly is our responsibility now. Mother isn't here to nurture him, we have to learn how. Isaris...remember this. Issaly is our baby brother. Our blood. You don't let Blood down.'

Those words caused Isaris to squirm slightly trying to keep Issaly in view at all times. A moment he didn't see him passed, "Issaly!" his tone was sharp. Hearing the other male he looked at Sauron's words, "While I agree with the thoughts, I would like it better if you kept half an eye on the youngling present."

Issaly on the other hand was sorta excited, his young mind was treating this like a adventure. When he saw Sauron pick up Isaris that was funny seeing his elder brother being treated like a youngling. It was also a odd sort of relief that his brother could still be treated as one to the small Shifters mind. He didn't really understand why. He had kept up with the adult the best he could, finding it fun. He looked around the alley they entered. Jumping when he heard his brother's call he rushed to Sauron's side to pipe up, "I'm keeping up!!! Honest!"

Sauron frowned down at the boy in his arms. "I'll have you know young sir that I happen to have two younglings at home. I am a father myself and I know how much your brother means to you, I do think however that he is also a bright, intelligent young man who knows the gravity of our situation. I do not believe he would leave your side and if you haven't noticed we happen to be in a giant town of Obans who are probably less then sympathetic to our plight and much more likely to side with your captor." He felt bad for reprimanding the boy but well, he had his own pride too. He was here to help not to follow orders.

Soon enough the lad in his arms would choose his class, and if he had survived this long, Sauron had no doubt he would be a force to reckon with in the future. But that did not excuse disrespect to his elders. The boy looked like he had been dragged through a knot hole backwards, but he would hopefully learn once he was back in a stable environment that the world was a beautiful place and he and his brother would be safe. The trick was to get them out of here first.

Did we wanna add drama?

Isaris held back the snort, he knew he had to respect his elders, but right now he wasn't in the mood. He sighed, one couldn't be picky about good manners. He glanced down as Issaly easily kept up...okay so the elder had a point. Isaris looked back up at the male; "You're a Father...your ideals of family must be a treasure indeed if your willing to stick your neck out for strangers merely connected to you by ancestral bloodkin." The youth said as he rested his head on Sauron's shoulder. The vague idea of wanting to be as big hearted as this male was entered his mind before he shook his head and looked back down at the bouncing pendant on his Youngling Brother's neck.

Issaly really enjoyed this run, the child looked up at the elder; "Sir? Are we going to the caravans I saw from the house windows? Or to the shadowy streets that Saraf's Mama said not to play near?" the child inquired. Issaly might of just given Sauron two choices of their escape, provided no one spotted them...

"It is true I have lead rather a charmed life, but the war touches all in someway. In my case it was the choice of staying home to protect my daughter while my wife went to fight, if the Obans had gotten through her during the war, I would have run all the way to Zena with Sezarra." He had been most fortunate that his entire family had made it through the final days before the treaty, they were whole. "Perhaps I am a bit more altruistic then others who have been through a lot more or were less lucky. But in my eyes there is a right and wrong and if I have the power to save someone elses family with risk only to myself then I will at least try. I would do the same for the other tribes I think but fortunately you are both shifters so I did not have to worry about a deeper moral dilemma, Tendajians of all kinds have fought beside me and so they deserve respect as well."

Sauron wanted to pat the boy's shoulder to comfort him but didn't want to accidentally drop his brother. "I think first we will stop and get as much water as we can carry, then we will head out on one of the caravan routes like you said, there may be others that are not Oban there that we can blend in with. Do you know where a well is Issaly?" Water was more precious then any gold out in the desert and with one of them sick they couldn't carry enough to please him fully but it would have to do. He would make the crossing as fast as he could with a youngling and a very sick prentice. "Also maybe a Xaraan for hire?"

Isaris blinked, the war. He wanted to hear more about that. The only details he seemed to know was that it ruined lives. Who saw profit from that sort of thing...all that death. The male had grown silent in his thoughts. As he slipped into his own mind he merely nodded at the elder out of sheer...habit. It wasn't until he felt a small touch to his arm that he jolted in the male's arms. He looked down to his littler brother. The child's wide eyes knowing of something he wasn't. Isaris blinked before sighing, "That sounds like a plan...though I did hear the old healer go on about a Leaf Trader who lives near the caravan trails. He raises Xaraan's to sell to them should they need them."

Issaly rocked on his feet as he thought, over the weeks that he had spent with Saraf's household the child had gotten to explore many places. under the watch of Saraf or his Mother, he thought about the adventures he went on with Mama Saraf. then something clicked. There was a well down the street from the old healers. Wasn't close to the household...but rather...he looked around. Where was it? There was a building that looked odd, it....AHA! He smiled at the sight of a slightly more tan building than some others. He had to be sure, creeping out to the edge of the alley he smiled at the sight of the minstrel playing a soft tune. He looked back to Sauron; "Mhm, there's a well behind that building there. Where the minstrel is playing. Mama Saraf took me there cuz I was really thirsty but we weren't near the household. I think she mentioned the caravan trails being on the other side." he explained.

"Excellent," It was useful to lean on others who knew the area better, he had no qualms with asking for directions. Now the problem was being seen at the well. He set Isaris down gently and said. "Issaly if you could stick right close to your brother that would be perfect, we need water and I will be less suspicious this way, you two stay in this alley until I'm back I won't be just a moment."

Sauron shrugged under a tatty old blanket and tried to hide the majority of his skin, drapped in shadows he hunched and tottered like someone with a severe old leg injury, as he went out to the well with his canteens. He told himself he would be just a minute but it tore at him to be away from his charges for even that long. Kelina would probably call him an old mother hen and well, she would probably be right.

He dunked the canteens fast and mummbled random things so people would avoid his uneven shape as he shuffled back to the alley. "We are gonna have to move swiftly to the caravans through the open area, I don't think there is a connecting alley the way I would have liked. Any ideas?" He asked hopefully. They seemed like a canny sort.

Isaris balanced himself as he listened to the elder. The male's narrow dark gray eyes flickered about the street. There was a complicated way of going about this. of which involved the poor minstrel...the bucket of liquid Isaris saw in the window above him and the baby Kinfa he noticed flittering about the cage on the peddler's cart. He glanced down to the pebbles at his feet, one strong smack and that cage would fly open. The bucket would of been disturbed by the Kinfa's flight and the minstrel would be splashed. He blinked as he thought long and hard about it. His silence stretching.

Issaly on the other hand made a funny face at his elder brother. Whatever plan the elder was thinking of was going to be complicated and entirely based on chance. He looked at Sauron, "No bodies, seen Big Brother since we got here...he was covered by a large blanket from what I remember. And...I remember something..." the child crawled his way up his brother's leg. The elder sibling moved without thought as he bent his knees to allow the child to settle into his stomach. Isaris then took the scarf from around his neck and tied it in such a way that the youngling was nested on his front.

Isaris blinked before looking down..."Oh. We could do this...Cover ourselves and then walk like elders...we'll be avoided for the most part. Issaly is lighter than he seems...I know I can carry him till we get to the alleys near the trails."
