They weren't terribly quiet. The battle at the edge of the fairgrounds was enough warning that they had been found. The Spec Ops Generals knew it was only a matter of time and so the call went out across the crystals.

“The rest of the light mongers are coming for this lot. Head them off. Take those that will be useful for corruption and kill or make useful the rest. Those are your orders.”

The general himself was severely annoyed with the lieutenant that had been grabbed from the rooftop not even a few miles off. He showed promise, but turned out to the a weak link that had point the senshi in the right direction.

That idiot. He was still seething at that very idea, but the lieutenant would be punished. Right now he had business to attend to …

Quote:

The senshi have defeated an rather unfortunate enemy at the edge of the fairgrounds and with the poor souls dusting heading for the funhouse. There were 20 senshi and knights captured and housed and different portions of the funhouse, 10 remain. They are tied, chained, and caged and getting to them will be tough, as the funhouse has been kicked into gear to make it harder. Make it past the obstacles to get your allies!

Everyone has 50 HP, no matter your faction or class. If you are battling, roll 10 sided die for damage.

In order going through the funhouse:

  • Rolling tunnel entry - Roll 6 sided die - Even, you make it through fine … Odd you stumble fall and take damage equal to your roll

  • Sliding floor tiles - Roll 6 sided die - Even, you make it through fine … Odd you stumble fall and take damage equal to your roll

On the other side your first allies await: Pisces, Skadi!

  • Ball Pit - Roll 4 sided die - Even you jump it and one leap … Odd you stumble and take damage equal to your roll

  • Shattered Mirror Maze (who did that) - Roll 4 sided die - Even you make is through with ease … Odd you get turn about a bit and manage to cut yourself on one of the mirror and take damage equal to your roll

Next up for Rescue: Ganymede and Mintaka

  • Compressed Air Vents (they blow air up out of the ground) - Roll 4 sided die - Even you aren’t scared … Odd you trip in a startled panic and take damage equal to your roll

Two More to Rescue: Helicon and Celsus

  • Dropping Floor tiles (they drop a few inches) - Roll 6 sided die - Even you remain standing … Odd you take a fall and take damage equal to your roll

Last Up:

Valhalla and Penthesilea

Mintaka could barely sit up. How long had she been trapped? Minimal food, minimal water. Nonstop beatings by lieutenants, captains. Asking her questions, beating her for answers. She hadn't struggled in days, her wrist scabbed and trying to heal under the metal.

She blocked out the sound by speaking to herself, by humming her own little tune, by thinking of something other then whoever it was in pain.

The lights cut, but it was a darkness Mintaka was already close too. Almost so much she embraced it to chest. In her mind, it was so sinfully quiet.

"Whisper among the people, down to the lane, do you hear me calling..." She murmured, "A lady so fine, her gowns of gold, her hair of silk, she is elegant. I see her at the window, in her gardens." her body ached and she let herself collapse fully to the ground now, embracing the coldness of it.

"In her garden so rich, the scent and smells. I see a lady, with her gold gown and her silver silk hair, fair as the moon, bright as the sun. Do you call me sir? She says."

This week had been one of the most torturous of his life. Since the night of the ball, he had been involved indirectly, treating a wave of patients that entered the hospital that night. There was a plethora of wounds to be treated and that left nothing to say about people's states of mind.

Ian had come and informed him what happened and he became increasingly panicked at his inability to easily get in contact with his teammates. The pen and paper thing was frustrating and he barely had any of their identities. He taken to trying to figure out what was happening when, touching bases, and scouring the city when he could get away from the hospital.

His sister was there sick, they didn't really know what was wrong with her. She had the flu at first, but now, she would barely wake up and he was afraid for her. Afraid to even tell their parents, though he had and they were on their way home. Now he had to find Acrucis.

From the moment he had found out she was missing, it had been a nightmarish hell for him. He knew, he knew she was not well. This night they were lucky. The clues lead them to the funhouse and he was headed in. He was hell bent on finding his little patient. His friend. She was like another sister to him and he had to find her.

He turned looking behind him at Acrucis friend, a senshi in white, Phact. "We're going to find her," he said before turning and calling out. "Acrucis! Acrucis!"

He was likely drawing attention to himself, but he could handle it, and he hoped Phact could too!

Megrez's HP: 50
Glitnir's HP: 50
Sadachbia's HP: 50

When the youma crumbled into dust, Sadachbia was standing right there, and she got a good deal of it on her. After getting over the initial surprise of the once-human creature completely dissolving, it then sank in that she basically had a creature's remains all over her. While she wasn't particularly squeamish, the added caveat that the creature had most likely once been human unsettled her. Humans didn't just poof into dust. "It's for the best," she mumbled to herself as she stepped into the funhouse behind Megrez and Glitnir.

Glitnir eyed the rolling tunnel with suspicion. "I think that's rolling a lot faster than it should be... this place wouldn't pass an inspection in a million years. They must have rigged the obstacles to make them more dangerous."

Megrez's heart was beating rapidly. She was close, so close, right in the belly of the beast. She would save the one she loved and all the others trapped in here. Failure was not an option. "I'm going in. Stay close to me. You don't know when some one stronger than you is going to jump out. Especially you, Sadachbia."

"Wait!" Glitnir called out, extending one hand to grab Megrez. He was too late to keep her from speeding into the rolling tunnel, leaving him no choice but to follow her. Sadachbia followed closely behind.

Megrez made it to the other side of the tunnel with incredible ease. The floor might as well have been completely still. Glitnir also made it across with no problems. He suspected that adrenaline had to be the cause for the speed. Sadachbia, on the other hand, took a tumble in the tunnel and scraped her hand trying to stop herself from falling. She scrambled to her feet with some difficulty thanks to the topsy-turviness of the tunnel, then nearly fell again when she reached the other side.

"Are you okay?" Glitnir asked, only to realize that Megrez was already marching on ahead. "Dammit, why does she keep leaving us in the dust?" He had to get moving right away to keep up with Megrez, and Sadachbia had to double-time it immediately after getting her balance. No rest for the weary.

Megrez makes it through successfully! Glitnir makes it through successfully! Sadachbia stumbles and takes 1 damage!

He was reluctant to be involved in this, for so many reasons, but he would try and help even while covering himself by fighting the senshi and knights as he was expected to do. Already powered up and with his weapon in hand the General prowled about the fun house like a caged cat ready for a fight, and he was, he knew no one coming in would hold back from attacking him and trying to possibly kill him. he couldn't shout out that he wanted to help them, that would do him no good, so he knew he would have to fight and still somehow help...but how?

He didn't know how he would help but he was ready to do so. Keeping close to where Acrucis was he was tempted to peek in and tell her that help was on the way, that others from her side where here. He wanted to and yet he refrained from doing so, knowing he couldn't even if it pained him to not help. he could easily walk in and unchain her but if he was caught? if someone went in after him and saw her chains undone...he couldn't risk it. He just hoped she would understand and accept it. Should he go to Ganymede or Valhalla and tell them, rouse them if they were unconscious, and let them know that freedom was close at hand for them. Again, he was tempted to and yet he refrained from it even as he heard a voice shouting a familiar name.

Smirking the ashen haired General headed toward the voice shouting for Acrucis, keeping to the shadows as much as he could.

Before stepping over the funhouse threshold Sidouer reached out and placed a heavy hand on Phacts shoulder. "You go find her, I'll help the first person I come across."

There was a look of confidence in those jade pink eyes that spoke of a promise that this was coming to an end and all would be well. Together they had followed the clues and made it this far; close so close, the rest was now up to her and the knight that stood beside them.

There was some sick joke in the fact their final destination, the choice hiding place of asses she wanted to kick, was a fun house. Thanks to them, Phact had a feeling she would have little desire to come to one of these ever again. Leave it to the negaverus to ruin her fun.

But that didn't matter right now. What did was the appearance of a knight she trusted. The man that could save Acrucis was beside her and leading the way. Though Phact was about to protest and drag the senshi that had stood beside her this entire time with her, the senshi of doves knew better than to push. From this point on, she and the knight had to go forward. They would do it..

"Stay safe. Desert on me after this." Phact gave her a smile before turning on her toes and taking off at a run after Shang. She still had the cross in her space pocket. As long as that was there...

Phact didn't want to think on it as she gave chase. "Acrucis! Where are you?" Her voice called out as well as she came up beside Shang. Amazingly, she managed to make it through the entryway unharmed as she glanced around.

"If only her cross could be used as a compass." She breathed out looking from the night onward.

With the senshi-turned-youma dealt with, it was time to invade the fun house to look for the captives. Ida suspected it had bothered Athene to face him, but to her, he had just been another of the Negavere's monsters. He was not human any more... showing him mercy would not have done him any favors and would only have put their people at more risk as they delayed.

As they approached the fun house, Ida looked it askance. It was hard to tell how many officers were inside waiting for them and how many of their people were left.

"I'm heading in... If I find someone, I'm going to try and get them out." She said to her team mates before she headed for the rolling tunnel at the entrance. The spinning floor sent her stumbling and her ankle turned as she fell to her knees, forcing her to scramble out the other side of the tunnel on her hands. Once the floor steadied, she shoved herself up to her feet again, rolling her ankle to ease the pull. The sliding floor was next... hopefully she'd get through that easier.

Themiscyra's HP: 50
Metis' HP: 50

Themiscyra had felt a slow burn through her limbs when the senshi youma finally turned to dust. A good sign, she decided, if she was that infuriated by the events of that evening. Red eyes turned towards the fairgrounds and that ever silent hope that her loved ones were alive, and not turned into--

She crushed the thought before it could develop further, cursing and moving out with the others heading into the Negaverse's current.... well. She wouldn't call it a stronghold. Temporary base, perhaps. Clearly enough was left of the mechanics of this place to turn it into a clown nightmare, and for a moment, she amused herself thinking of how much fun Scarecrow could have with such a setting, till she remembered another far more.... capable of replicating Dr. Crane's work, and shook herself from the tendril of fear that slithered down her spine.

Themiscyra moved on, hand gripping the golden chain. A small lifeline of sorts, an anchor as she moved towards the first building. Her brows lifted, and she gave a snort. People calling out, making so much noise... not that their arrival would be a secret given their energies, but...

She'd moved quickly through the rolling tunnel, glancing behind her only briefly before she continued on. Somehow, she doubted this would be that easy....

One person's easy was another's groaning regret. Metis had been... disturbed, to say the least, by the youma's dusting. Just like that, people were moving, pressing onward. More youma and agents were sure to follow, and her head moved about, trying to scan for approaching auras. Not so easy in a more crowded area like the fairgrounds, and with all the sounds of the machines being activated, it was... disorientating. Immensely so. Metis pressed a hand carefully to her forehead, rubbing at her temple. At least there were multiple people going through the.... tunnel? She stepped on the surface and quickly backpedaled before her foot could be zipped out from under her.

Oh great. It moved. She scowled and watched others go through, keeping a keen eye on their movements to gauge how the thing moved. Details like that were lost to her. She caught the outline of the space around her, and that was about it.

Not to mention she was in heels.

Metis was giving a rather stern mental lecture to whomever had decided a soldier needed heels. But she was willfully neglecting to lecture the powers that be on other things soldiers probably needed. Navigating the moving terrain was... ok, not so horrible once she got through, but somehow, she was willing to bet pretty hard that was just level difficulty: baby's first game.

Themiscyra and Metis made it through the tunnel without injury!

Ram's HP: 50

There was a call to attack, to fight. There were things to answer that call.

The seven-foot youma dug his claws into one of the high lamp posts, the metal barely supporting his weight before he launched himself to another perch, and so was his continued movements as he searched for the sources of... energy. Beacons of delicious, burning light to his senses. Hunger ate at not his gut, though the idea of sinking his fangs into flesh delighted him to no end. No, the real hunger ate at his brain, at his muscles, at his very bones and pushed him to hunt.

Assuming, of course, no agent took from him his prey. Corruption? His skull tilted, three burning eyes peering into the calamity of the grounds. Useless. Let them be food instead. Food for the strong.

His maw snapped in the cold air, blood boiling with--dare he admit it?--excitement. Figures moved, and the youma watched them, the metal of his trophies glinting and his mane ruffling as his body tensed. They moved through the tunnel. Ever closer. He continued to move, seeking rafters and perches by which to watch. Wait. Hunt.

Liryn:
Liryn had managed to catch up to Ida proper as she mentioned heading into the Fun House and he trotted after her through the rolling entrance. The sliding floor tiles that followed were kind of different but not that much trouble as he sprang from one shifty tile to another.

It seemed that his fellow team mates hadn't really fared quite as well though, although all off them were on their feet relatively quickly enough.

He continued on after them - they had people to rescue

Athene:
To say that the senshi turned youma had bothered Athene was perhaps putting it lightly. It had taken until this evening for him to truly understand where youma came from, for him to realise that all that time that he'd been dusting youma that he'd been killing people.

He had made a promise to himself once that he would not let this war turn him into a killer, that he would have a line in the sand and that would be his line...

And it turned out that he hadn't even been able to keep that promise, had been crossing the line he was so certain he would never cross many times over.

Had crossed it yet again by helping to dust the once senshi youma.

Ida was up ahead, was calling out that she was going in and Athene nodded to her uncertain on whether she had seen it.

He hadn't been able to do anything for the once senshi, but he could help others who were taken, could and would do all he could to get them out.

Thinking would have for later, for now he would have to focus on the one thing - doing his part to help those taken.

He was just ahead of Tsui and behind Liryn as he entered the Fun House and immediately stumbled as he entered the rolling entrance.

Tiles followed and Athene didn't do any better at keeping his balance, although he picked himself up as soon as he could. He had to keep going.

And hopefully Ash managed to get his sent message, managed to let the rest of the Watch know because he knew that the more hands on this the better.

-----------------------------------------------------

Falias:
The last time that Falias had been to the Fun House had been about a year ago. Actually come to think about it, no, it was closer to a year and a half now and the Negaverse had been neck deep in that particular outing too.

He still remembered the bear youma with deep unfondness along with desperately trying to swing at the thing with a broom.

He hadn't been to a Carnival since.

He couldn't help but wonder what was up with the Negaverse and carnival/ fun fair things as he traversed the rolling entrance without any problems.

He hadn't counted on the floors, the tiles slipping from under his feet and causing him to fall.

He picked himself up, debating as he did so on whether he should try to follow some of the others who had made it through or head deeper into the Fun House on his own.

Sarras Squire
Stumbles
HP: 49

Sarras was more than happy to have been done with the unsightly abomination that had guarded the funhouse, and if they needed another clue to tell them where their captured comrades were being kept, then look no further than the senshi-youma hybrid that threw his blame onto them for their failures. In the end, the youma’s words meant absolutely nothing to him and he charged forward when the rest did. By this time, he was pretty winded, filthy, and he suspected that he probably had torn fabric in unsightly areas, but such matters were trivial as he trudged on.

He didn’t have much hope that either the rest of the journey would have been easy to this point, or that the general he was longing to find would have been lying in wait in there, but he didn’t let either one bring him down. Instead what did was the damn rolling tunnel entry that did that trick, and he managed to get a few steps in before he went crashing down.

“s**t!” Sarras muttered as he went down ungraciously, swearing he heard fabric rip and tear on his way down. He took some comfort in knowing that others weren’t having the best of luck, though he might have done better had a Dark Mirror senshi not simply leap over his body and another, an Eternal from the White Moon, come crashing down on him. “Get offa me!”

Super Sailor Canopus
Makes it Through Just Fine
HP: 50

Tears seemed to be permanently plastered to her face by this point, but Super Sailor Canopus had to pull through. The moment the youma fell, she forced herself to look away and carry on, running forward and into the rotating tunnel with little thought or concern now. She couldn’t imagine the guilt that must have plagued the hearts of the youma’s now former allies and she wished that she could have told each and every one present that they weren’t at fault, but there was simply no time. If she slowed down, then she’d be consumed with the guilt as well, and so when the youma crumbled to dust, she ran forward, blurry eyes casted forward, trying to ignore the fact that she felt as though she had blacked out at some point in that last fight.

She still carried the broken piece of wood, and she’d continue to cling to it, so long as there were Negaverse officers that tried to oppose them and prevent them from getting to the White Moon senshi and the knights that had captured. She had no busy being here, not really, and she had long since lost track of Damocles and Tantalus… but onward she went.

She watched as a squire took a tumble in front of her, and she thought quickly, leaping over him and never once considering the thought that he would look at her undergarments, nor feeling there was adequate time to run back to help him up. She was simply too surprised that she had managed to make it over him, and when her feet hit the ground, she kept on going. She was going to help, whether they wanted their help or not! No one should suffer at the hands of the Negaverse! No one!

Eternal Sailor Tsui
Stumbles
HP: 47

It was hard for Eternal Sailor Tsui to want to continue on any further, after witnessing the youma's fall and knowing that they had all had a hand in the death of an ally. A former ally... one that was taken, tortured, and twisted against their very nature. Perhaps that what overrode her guilt and urged the Tiger senshi forward- the thought of finding the ones responsible for this and making sure that they got brought to justice. Would they demand his or her death? Could she do such a thing? She didn't want to think she was capable of it nor that it was necessary, but she couldn't deny that driving her fist into their face would have been... all worth it.

No, what spurned her onward was the thought of those that were still alive, and those that they could rescue. She brushed off the dirt and gave one look to Ida and Athene each, giving them both a single, solitary nod, before charging in. "Alright, let's go... our allies and friends are in there, and we're going to get them back, even if we have to knock the teeth out of every single Negaverse officer there! Come on!"

Not that she needed to say such things- all things considered, Tsui was confident that the other were just as eager to rush in and save the day as she was. Perhaps she was too eager, as she entered into the rotating tunnel and immediately found herself slamming against a fallen Squire. Down she went on top of him and she retaliated to his shout with one of her own, not realizing that she recognized him from an earlier sparring session. "Speak for yourself! On your feet, soldier! Move it!"

Bless your messages, Athene There wasn't time to send back anything. Thraen was about as opposite a side of the city as one could be at the time that his phone chirruped. Everything since then was a Mirror's Edge blur of rooftops and badly managed free-running to try to get there in time to be of some sort of use. Closing in confirmed all that he could want to avoid- masses of signatures and tons of colored uniforms here and there. The derelict space.

The panic and anger of people trying to get where they needed to go. There are these things called service entrances?? And firecode exits on every ride every so many feet? Is this really the only way in?

The miles long sprint did no favors for keeping his feet in the tunnel, and Thraen was dumped in his passage through onto his side with all the grace of a flailing giraffe. Forget standing.

He'd pass the final feet on hands and knees and stand up on the other side.

-------- -------- -------- --------

They are being held at the Fairgrounds in the western part of the city.

I can get there right? I can get there from here? Just run faster. Oh my god who runs in shoes like these. Goths just saunter in malls, don't they? Its not like they're out there in parking lots having duels with sweetloli's and bumbershoots.

All able people are requested to assist in the rescue effort! Our people's safety is priority number one!

I'm one of an Our now, right? I need to go and help. It isn't really a great way to meet people, but who the heck wants to talk about 'Hi, my name is' and all when they're coming off a rack. I can at least get in the way of some baddie. I can do this. I can completely and totally do this. And there were so many people there. So many. All trying to funnel into the damned funhouse through its turned on crazycooks. I CAN'T EVEN WALK

Down Sandrine went with scrabbling flops, like a cat on a wet bathtub rim. Then just kept scrabbling until, breathless, the Senshi of Execution made it to the other side. Graceful. Very Helpful.

Past the rolling tunnel was the sliding tiles and Ida eyed them dubiously. Behind her, her team mates made it through the tunnel with no more grace than she had, which helped soothe her pride a little. She wasn't the only one having trouble with the shifting footing.

There were more senshi and knights coming up behind them, so there was no time to linger here. Ida caught a look at Thraen as he came tumbling out of the tunnel and she suppressed a smile that was not at all charitable for the garden senshi. So clever with your costume, but your balance is no better than mine, Thraen.

Her ankle still protesting, Ida grabbed the railing as she made for the sliding floor tiles, attempting to jump the majority of them and avoid the opportunity for their trickery to set her off balance. Unfortunately, her judgement landed her short and the floor slid suddenly, pitching her forward as she grabbed for the railing and felt it slam into her ribs before she could scramble her feet under her and drag herself the rest of the way out. The orchid senshi winced as she rubbed her side, faced now with the choice of two doors that could hold two of their people.

"I'm going to hold you to that so you better make it out alive." Sidouer shouted at Phact's back then followed in after her.

The several strides it took to clear the rolling tunnel was a bit of a dozy especially when done in high heels. Not entirely impossible but not exactly fun either.

With her senses focused on the furthest order signatures Sidouer haphazardly stepped onto the tiled floor only to have it slip out from under her foot before she could apply her full weight on it. "Wo-ahh" Both arms went pinwheeling to keep from completely losing balance.

Fun house death traps great... She let out an un-amused grunt as she pushed herself off the wall and took off once more down the hallway, only this time paying more attention to where she stepped.

At least with the floor tiles, it was a little more like using the occasional vehicle as a jump point- it was physics that he was more used to guesstimating on short notice. Thraen kept to the wall, hand on it while traversing the moving panels with marginally more grace.

There were so many people, and getting to be so many more. Don't stpe on anyone. Are there enemies still here? They won't-can't just leave with the opportunity to have killed the captives. Or to catch us all in this ridiculous bottleneck.

There were some familiar colors showing in the dim. People he knew in the crowd that he didn't. Ida, Athene, Liryn, Megrez, that Tiger girl from that brief night when the power cut to all the city.

There were rooms and people were taking the time to search them. There were enough of them present that it made sense to just keep going on further in. There was too little time, if the negaverse was killing captives even as they all were pouring in. Everyone milling around wouldn't do favors for those further in.

-------- -------- -------- --------

There was no reprieve and no reason in this place. Sandrine was standing long enough to take a step, make a sudden shift to the left and then doof shoulder-first into the wall. Sideways, akimbo with one foot on the wall and the other wedged against the floor moulding, Sandrine felt like maybe staying home would have been the most useful thing in the world. Who makes moving floorboards? How is this a good time? Move move move you'reInEveryone'sWay.

More scrambling to the other side, some people shot passed. Press to the wall, get out of their way. How do they know what to do or where to go? I feel so damned useless. Is there going to be more of this s**t? Maybe I can help carry someone out?

There wasn't anyone looking like they could be bothered to be asked. Everyone was on a mission like a boss. Sandrine kept moving, though probably slower that before for trying to not be in the way at all points ever.
