Characters:
Setting:
Quote: Time: Late Night Weather: Lightly Snowing, Bitter Cold Location: Winter Solstice Celebration in the Isle Center
Prompt:
Quote: It was the Winter Solstice Celebration, Seemed like the party was dying for today. Some places were still open and the wishing well was still available to visitors. Now, all of the dancers, singers have went home... You can see some stragglers around but this is where you can see the decorations, and see the scenery without the masses. Snow made piles, icicles on some decorations. It seems a pair of fortune cookies, a game long passed played today to match them. One of you picks it up, and when you say aloud it's number.. You find out that the other played the game but hadn't gotten paired up since no one had the other number. You both find yourself where the game was played, now the booth seemed abandoned but the 'game' was really a dance under mistletoes. Care for a dance?
Special:
Quote: Whoever has the 10th post in this thread, Your character sees a shooting star.. Do you tell the other? Or do you wish on your own.

Conrad The Mighty Thought I'd start us off...did i mention i should never post early morning @~@ Zacries wandered through the festival. Played in the game and looked the female up and down, he didn't offer a smile but a nod. He looked around again before speaking, "Evening..."

The white ulaya was taking a walk around the plaza near turn down time by herself one time around to check out those things that had stuck out to her in the bustle of the crowd. It was colder now, but the frost ticketing her bones was embraced like an old friend. It was Myrrh that spotted the abandoned cookie and read the number allowed, just in time for the greeting from the other. "22?" ended up as her reply. Which was the point when the mistletoe caught her attention. Oh no.. Her purple eyes widened looking at the other ulaya, horrified by his impending reply. There was nothing wrong with him, but dancing was not quite her sweetest skill.

Zacries looked down at the number, "22, indeed." he said cooly. Sitting there his dual colored tipped tail lazily waved behind him. His cool green eyes looked back up at her. Taking in the frost on her coat he blinked, "My name is Zacries, are we suppose to...." he trailed off as he looked up. Oh. Crap. His next blink was a tad slower shadowed by a noticeable gulp.

Not often did Myrrh take social conventions as mandatory directions, but where was the error in the logic? If she did not conform, the male whom identified himself as Zacries, would feel left out and put down. His shame would fuel her guilt no doubt. "I'm Myrrh, and yes.. I do believe we are." She stepped one paw in front of the other until she was firmly in the middle of the dancing plateau. Even in these dimmed lights her reflective coat would catch a ray and glint it off in another direction. It really did make her sparkle in the right moments. "You won't make me dance with myself, will you? I assure you, it's not a pretty sight!" She smiled childishly as she beckoned him with a wave of her paw.

Zacries blinked before a soft hue to his eyes appeared, aha a glimmer of emotion! His pure white pelt glittered alongside the females as he circled her before starting up the proper steps he was taught as a kip. "May I have this dance, Miss Myrrh. I'm not that good but I'll sure try." he said with a hint of playfulness to his tone.

SwordOfTheDarkOnes so cute and awkwardly formal! Lol Myrrh watched the gesture and decided that since she had neither been taught to dance, nor practiced such a thing in public, the next step wasn't an obvious one. The only reference point she had recently received was from earlier in the day when she witnessed this game being 'played'. The rational side of hthe r brain offered a compromise; mirror the convention of the females that were here before her. She let out a slow, hard breath and bent her back legs into a courtesy before lowering her body into it. He wasn't bad at this at all, pity he couldn't get a real dance partner instead of this imposter before him. He could have really swept her off her paws.. "Well mister Zacries," she mirrored" I think you're doing quite well so far." Her tone was warm and her moves were less than fluid. It had been quite a while since she had considered a male for the purpose of casual encounters.. Not that it was what she was considering now.. Just food for thought, she told herself. Oh no.. Is this dancing thing supposed to work on two paws or four? A look of panic overtook her finally thawed face.

Zacries smiled at her, she was a quick learner that was for sure. The male was slow and measured in his steps. A tail twitch here or there to gently guide her if he got close. Of course this was on four paws. Easier to move. His face was impassive but the play of emotions in his eyes was enough to back the undertones to his words, "We both are."

Was that music? The sounds that drifted into her ears? It did have a rather good beat to it that began to pick up. The tone was still fit for the 'sweetheart mistletoe game', but it was at least something that Myrrh could dance to! Maybe, if she was lucky, she could throw Zacries off his game so she could get a glimpse of what was beneath the surface. The ulaya spun around with couple of steps and bumped her hip into that of the males. Her laughter was as sweet as candy, and her face read as that of a kip begging to play tag. She moved her paws in a quickened pace, now guiding him about in an oblong circle. Come on.. Play along! She begged in her mind's eye.

Zacries heard the music as well. A soft look to his eyes as he watched the female change her attitude. He chuckled, a deep baritone sound before he bumped her hip in return then proceeded to follow. The male let a small smirk grow as his tail waved in a playful manner. 'Lets play.'

The first memory the Ulaya could remember was of her minty twin telling her that more sour of the two was not born from a box. The red sister should know because when she emerged from her own box, all she was was the white cub, no matching box or parents to speak of. It was her sister that drove the "misfit toy" idea so deeply inside her head. That is also to say that her knowledge of the whole box appearing idea really complicated to her; which would explain the lack of enthusiasm towards actions such as dancing with strange males. But since she was already passed the point of no return, she might as well not make it miserable. As his tail flicked the bright grin at the tip caught her eye, then a shooting star quickly shot across the sky. Her whole little white sparkley body got a shiver coursing through her veins. That was the point in which her enhibitions vanquished. The ulaya spun around bumped her hip this time with his front shoulders.

Zacries chuckled as their dance continued. Finding himself having more fun than he expected the male nudged the female to keep up their 'game'. He spun before dipping down and then as he rose curled around her. His long tail assisting in the illusion of protection.

SwordOfTheDarkOnes Do you want the last post? Zacries had done nothing wrong, he was making all of the right moves at the right times. There was even a shooting star to christen the occasion! But something spooked the little ulaya and she would have no more of it. With no words, no huffs or sniffles, Myrrh ran. This was no game any longer and she expected him not to follow her. She would hold no ill will or scorn towards him if their paths ever crossed again, but she would also not go seeking him out.

Zacries blinked as he watched her go. Sitting the male's face became blank as he then stood to pad away. Seeking out his twin sister the male would block emotion as he always did.
