User ImageIt was a quiet evening in the grand theatre, and there was no reason for it to be otherwise. There simply wasn't anyone about, to Razvan's knowledge, as he padded out from his workshop and down one of the lengthy hallways that twisted through the theatre. He had been working on a project for the past several hours, but a familiar sort of weariness had settled into his mind; he was rather bored, and it was time to get up and stretch his legs. More importantly though, he would go out and see if anyone had wandered into the theatre proper. He knew the world was new, but if there was anything he craved, it was to see new faces, and he inhaled the damp air of the theatre, eyes focused on the entrance ahead of him.

He had clenched in his teeth a small whistle that he had carved not an hour earlier. The thing exuded a most irritating and humorous sound when he blew into it, and as he reached the end of the hallway he gave a puff, and the corners of his mouth upturned as he listened to it echo against the walls. He was already dreaming of the glorious cacauphony they would produce if mass-produced and given out to the youngsters of the tribe, but for now he hoped that it would catch the attention of anyone who happened to be wandering through.

"Chronos? Are you around here?" He called out around his clenched teeth, his eyes searching the backstage area, before trailing out to the darkened stadium beyong that. Surely someone was around.....

User Image The stillness of the theater was a welcome change for this evening. Every night for the past few days had been quite busy for Chronos. Purposeful business in which there was only a sense of pride to the accomplishments. Soon the rest of the 'world' would see such accomplishments, however, the privlage was reserved for only three B'alam (Four if Marie would venture to ask).

A prideful breath filled his lungs to their fullest while he gazed over the side of the balcony. This section was specifically made to accomodate the magus and his soul-bound. From this vantage point they could see the entire stage flawlessly. Every angle of light and movement would be in full view for their lord and lady to appreciate.

That is, if the theater should ever put on a show. At least the puppets were mostly ready...

Oh? Long crimson ears bounced in tune with the strange whistling from beyond the stage. What a sound! It was... playful. The tip of his tail flicked from side to side as he scanned the stage below for the source.

"Would I be anywhere else?" Chronos mused before stepping closer to the balcony's railing. "I see you have been busy."

A playful grin tugged the corner of his maw upward wile bright eyes caught sight of what may possibly be the only other living being in the theater at the time. Bright pink eyes flashed to the sudden change in atmosphere. Quietness may have been a welcome change, but Chronos was always ready for some form of entertainment.

User ImageA persistent high-pitched noise signaled many things. For one thing, it signaled for Ruxandra time to take a break. She sighed and set the fabric down, stretching her neck back and forth, then rubbing her weary eyes with her paws. What was that noise, anyway? Loud, annoying, playful, resonant (must have been made out of woo--OH. She couldn't help but smile. How could she not? The sound of carving and tinkering next door had ended a few minutes ago, so it would seem that the irritating noise was the sound of Razvan taking a break from work. The costumer shook her head good-naturedly and got to her paws, stretching her spine this way and that. If the assistant toymaker was taking a break, it was probably time for her to take a break. And she'd hardly had time to talk to anyone today outside of business. Yes. Time to socialize. She was almost finished with the costumes, anyway, surely she could afford to take a small break... There would be time to panic and rush later. As in, fifteen minutes from now, after she'd had a little walk and conversation with someone. Not a good thing to be cooped up somewhere with no one to talk to.

She meandered down the corridors and hallways towards the house and stage. As she stepped out of the wings, she saw, ye tho' and verily, the dark-and-bright form of Razvan on the stage. She smiled. "That whistle's quite something," she said. "I hope you're not planning on giving it to the cubs. We'd never hear the end of it!"

Raz sauntered out to the center of the stage when Chronos' location became apparent, the corners of his muzzle curled upward in a perpetual red grin. He toot-toot-tooted a monotone tune with the whistle, his steps bouncing as he swayed to and fro. His wings quivered lightly before unfolding, and he fluttered them, stirring the air around his body pleasantly.

"I suppose you wouldn't! We've all been so hard at work~" He replied in a singsong tone, his voice still clenched as he held onto his tiny, annoying instrument. After a moment he plunked down onto his haunches. "What have you been up to exactly? Do you need any help??" He inquired, his head tilting comically. He was ask another question before a more feminine voice sounded out through the darkness. He hopped to his feet and padded to the edge of the theatre.

"Ruxandra! You like it?" He laughed, and puffed on it again, enjoying the way the sound ricocheted around the theatre. "I think every cub in the tribe should have one. Wouldn't that be lovely??" He was so tickled by the thought that he finally laughed, and the whistle clattered to the stage.

"I think it would be, anyway. It's just so...so quiet around here. Too quiet. Come up with me~" He motioned for Ruxandra to join him as he began to circle around the whistle with slow, dipping movements, as if he were in the beginnings of a dance.

Chronos held all his full attention to the stage and the playful performance of the Assistant. The thought of interrupting such a show held his maw still and his paws planted where they were. He did swivel his ears forward to pick up on the playful sounds coming from below.

"Such is the way of the theater-" Chronos mimicked the bounce in Raz's voice.

His maw opened to reveal one of his most prized project of the year, but allowed the words to melt into a deep breath to the sound of another. Bright eyes scanned the theater until she came into view. His tail twitched curiously.

"Oh, it would be grand! Imagine if a wind-tribe cub were to have such a toy? This place does lack the blissful play of a child I think..." He hummed.

Once again all his focus returned to the stage for the second act of the "show".

A Bolf flapped onto the stage from one side, but remained close to the wings it had emerged from even as it landed and took a few bipedal steps toward the center of the floor, which was revealed to any in the audience by the drawn curtains. The familiar squeaked and soon a voice carried out from the way it had come from and seemed to gradually increase in volume as it sang dreamily as though in the process of following after its lead. And in fact this was true.

"My dear, dear Bolfy, have you found,
the source of the amazing sound?"

The Bolf apparently called Bolfy squeaked again in reply.

A brightly colored B'alam stepped onto the stage as well in a trance-like entrance of steady yet purposeful steps. Her gaze moved from her familiar to sweep across the stage and the audience. "How amazing," her speech sang serenely yet again as she took in the expanse.

Still her field of vision moved gently between those on and off the stage and still gently her movements encompassed her whole being as she lifted her posture briefly and slightly before bending her extremities' joints in a courteous curtsy to her fellow Dark tribe B'alam. "Greetings, my name is Daisy and I apologize if I am intruding. Please let me know if so and I shall take my leave," she smiled as she regained her full height with a slow swish of her tail to the other side before seating herself in place.

Her Bolf familiar met her again where she had chosen to sit on the stage and grasped a part of the puppet that was hanging on her shoulders. Daisy seemed to see a question in the Bolf's features, because she smiled again and gave a nod that slipped the puppet down from where it had hung around her neck. It seemed that perhaps she had forgotten about the sound she had been in search for only a few short moments ago.

Bolfy, too, now took to entertainment via the puppet given by Daisy, bobbing the also swinging pieces up and down by the handle. It was a simple and still very unpolished creation that held a questionable resemblance to a character on all fours grasping an oddly shaped item with the end of one wing and another smaller character with also four but shorter legs. Both characters dangled from single strings which shared the one handle. The creator had informed her assistant it was a puppet of Bolfy out to catch a meal and it may be that Bolfy was content playing with the puppet while not yet feeling hungry and having in mind to actually hunt and eat.

Meanwhile, Daisy sat with an unsaid question of her own on her features, cheerily tapping the floor with her tail in time to the movements of the B'alam who appeared to be in the middle of a dance and wondering if there was a tune she was missing.

The noise echoed off the ceiling, and off the stage, and off the columns and boxes and balcony all around. Ruxandra's ears flickered back. She did not like the noise it was making--it was annoying, it was distracting, it was...exactly the thing to make a cub's eyes light up with joy. And the look of happiness on the cub's face would make the annoyance worth it, she decided. "I think the cubs would love it, Raz. Maybe put it on a length of ribbon so that they could wear it around their neck? That way they won't lose it." She bunched her muscles up and took to the stage with a single awkward jump.

Some B'alam might have found such a decision--not the decision to dance, obviously, but the decision to tolerate discomfort for the sake of a cub--to be odd, but it was just as Chronos said: Such is the way of the theater. You did not get to work with the toymaker or his workshop if you did not love cubs and revel in their happiness. So Ruxandra laughed and did a little shuffle on the stage, a little hup-two-ah as best she could. "A wind cub with a whistle? Can you imagine? Showing up out of nowhere, swooping down from the sky, then fweet! ? How would you get one to Wind Tribe, though?" She turned back to Raz. "Could you tune a whistle? Make it so that it played a certain note? Then they could make music together."

A flash of bright color caught Ruxandra's attention, and she faltered in her step. Another nantlil had stepped into the house, and was watching them intently. There was a toy hanging from the stranger's bolf's mouth--was she one of the apprentices? Ruxandra didn't recognize her, but she called out to her. "Hullo! Would you like to join us, miss?"

The reactions of his comrades made Razvan's grin widen all the more, and as Ruxandra joined him, he laughed, delighted as he synchronized his movements with hers. She really was a dear, to always put up with his shenanigans, and as she and Chronos added their suggestions, his eyes shimmered with all the new possibilities. "What wonderful ideas! Tuning them to a specific note is entirely possible..." He slid gracefully as he lead them around in a circle, wings quivering at his sides. He had never met a wind child before, but it was entirely possible that they weren't so uncommon outside of the caves.

"Oh, it wouldn't be so difficult. I'm sure the merchant would know how. I'd give them out myself if I was able." Raz snickered at the thought. Perhaps he would go out beyond the caves to feed again soon, and get lucky. It was his dream to meet cats from all the other tribes, eventually, but he was far to busy to do much traveling. He was about to say something more when the brilliant orange of the approaching stranger caught his eye, and he halted the dance, brows lifting.

"Oh, who is this! Good evening!!" Raz was sure he didn't recognize her, but when he saw her bolf, and the little toy it had, his ears perked with curiosity. "Yes, do join us! What is your name, dear?" He asked, taking a little step toward Daisy and her pet. He wanted badly to ask about the bauble, but decided to save it until after introductions were made.
