The soft blue Earth pony clears her throat sighing. "ahem now today's lesson out of role play focuses on magic. Such to start there are 3 main types of magic. They are....

~ Light

~ Neutral

~ Dark

......and the 3 have subcategories for magic able to be done under them. Now it should be remember a key detail too many forget or ignore thinking they are immune or that it is only lies. Light magic is powerful but that power can easily blur into Dark magic if not monitored its use and amount of use. This must never be forgotten or ignored. If done so is an almost sure pathway to corruption and falling into the path of Dark magic that unlike Light magic cannot fall into Light. Light can blur into corruption but if wait too late or go too far then there is no returning to the Light un-scared if at all from the Dark." Azure explained carefully picking up a piece of chalk with her hoof to draw a symbol for all three in a line. Drawing an arrow down under Light she took a breath writing on the chalkboard.

"Now then. For examples of Light magic. As I said the magic of Light is powerful against Dark but at the same time it can lead users of it into Dark magic if they are unwise in their use and the uses in which it is cast for. For example whereas Neutral magic is strictly for protection, defense, and healing Light, and Dark, can be used for both offensive and defensive spells. As such each spell will hold some element to them and that element can, depending on the situation, determine its main use.

An example would be.....

~ Say there is plant over growth and you wish to clear it in a hurry. If done properly a fire spell in the shape of an animal could easily help manage the over grown plants that are not needed or need to be gotten rid of. Once the problem is fixed then the fire spell be disabled to prevent it from going out of control. This is one example of responsible Light magic use.

~ For irresponsible let us say there is a shortage of water so a water spell is cast and set to have it rain once a day. This starts out right but over time the spell is not checked upon or monitored and thus without its caster checking and tweaking it the spell starts to grow and go out of control to the point the place once low on water now has too much and people's homes are damaged. The spell has become too much for the caster to handle so tries to remedy it with a fire spell. That may dry all the water but causes more damage. Frustration in emotion's can fuel bad decisions so if frustration is felt by the caster from the townsfolk becoming annoyed and upset well...it could end much worse than just a small drouth.

Those are just one example of each. There are other ways. Casting say a light spell to help others see but letting that feeling you know what they want instead of what they themselves know because you can cast the light spell for them can cause an ego and a closed mind with a chance at dark emotions. Also those with a dark mind casting light spells can use the to be good spells for bad intentions."

Azure paused writing these things down then paused taking a breath and spoke turning from the chalkboard.

"An example would be...using a plant spell to help grow crops and other plants to live is a good deed and good use of the Light magic. A way to cause it to fall into the Dark magic with the same type of spell would be using the plants to attack the farmers or to attack and capture or harm others for the sheer enjoyment of it. There are many other examples but this pretty much explains the terms: misusing a Light spell to cause harm instead of to bring good. So there are now subcategories for Light magic.

~ Air

That should be about all of them if I am remembering rightly. Now for all these there are the right ways to use them and the wrong ways to use them. Wrong ways usually lead to sad results." Azure explained recalling all the magic books she had read from her father's library and private stash of books he kept from his days in his Private Unicorn School and Academy.

~*~ Growing of any and all plants such as trees, flowers, crops, bushes, grass, and so on.

~*~ Raising and lowering of the ground holding some form of plant life.

~*~ Manipulating plants to create beautiful designs.

~*~ Creating new plants by having pairs meet that never have.

~*~ Bringing plant life to life to take care of a task on its own or to preform for guests such as dancing in place or offer a flower or gift to others.


~ Fire may hold these uses if not others if the caster is creative:

~*~ Heating water with other foods and drinks.

~*~ Starting camp fires or fires in fireplaces or wood fired ovens.

~*~ Over growth from plants removal.

~*~ Heat for warmth.

~*~ Lighting dark area with a torch of having it float or move as a creature.

~*~ Drying items or beings.

~*~ Defrosting items or beings.

~*~ Help a being recover from hypothermia.

~*~ Defense with a shield of fire.

~*~ Offensive with a sword or weapon made of only fire.

~*~ Melting metal or other items able to be liquified.


~ Ice may hold these uses if not others if the caster is creative:

~*~ Freezing the surrounding area in ice.

~*~ Freezing one or more body parts.

~*~ Cooling a home and area on summer days.

~*~ Freezing water solid or loosely.

~*~ Cooling clouds enough to bring snow/hail/winter weather.

~*~ Form snow from water.

~*~ Cover things or beings with frost.

~*~ Help bring ease to sunburns.


~ Water may hold these uses if not others if the caster is creative:

~*~ Rain water to fall in one spot or wide area.

~*~ Purifying isolated water so drinkable.

~*~ Draw water up from the ground help with wells.


~ Light may hold these uses if not others if the caster is creative:

~*~ Illuminating dark area's during blackouts.
