Selene lead Kristopher all the way to the dorms, though she seemed to have taken a somewhat round about path, as if she was trying to avoid places with lots of people.. Which was exactly what she was trying to do. It should be pretty obvious by now that she was very shy. A couple minutes before they arrived at the dorms, it stopped raining. The girl was glad that it had and just quickly rushed inside, walking only a short way into the dorm building before arriving at her dorm.. Which she was now sharing with Kristopher. That made her nervous. Well, even more nervous than usual, so when she pulled out her key to unlock the door, she fumbled and dropped it. She cringed a little, then quickly bent down to pick it up. As soon as she had it in her hand, she stood up straight and unlocked the door as fast as she could without dropping it again. She pushed the door open and whispered, "T-t-this is i-it.." She put the key in her pocket as she waited for him to go in before scampering through the doorway.

((I just realized... His name should be on the list of this dorm's residents, shouldn't it?))

Kristopher "Chris" Krieger
The Orphaned Warrior

Kristopher sneezed as he reached the doorway of Selene's- and now his- dorm. The rain really did a number on him. Even though he had been out on the streets for years, he always got sick from rain; even if it didn't make contact with him. When Selene dropped the key to the dorms, Kris momentarily disputed whether or not to pick it up, but by the time he decided, she had already opened the door.
When Kris walked inside, he was amazed. He hadn't seen an actual living room in years. He wandered around, taking in the sights, before he found his way into the kitchen. He opened the fridge and found several cooking ingredients. "Intresting... You should let me cook you a meal. It's about that time, anyways," he said, looking down at his wristwatch.

OoC: Yep.

Selene looked at Kristopher slightly worriedly once he entered the dorm.. He had sneezed. She didn't really know why, unless he somehow got dust in his face. Which she seriously doubted because she always tried her best to keep things clean. Then again, she was neither tall nor strong, so there were plenty for places she couldn't get to no matter how much she tried. The thought that he might be sick crossed her mind, but she dismissed that thought quickly. She closed the door after they both where in the dorm, then just awkwardly stood next to it, watching him as he walked around. She wasn't really sure what to say or do, so she only stayed there, until he went into the kitchen and started talking. She crept over to the entrance and peered into that room, blinking slowly as she saw him looking in the fridge. "Um.. I.. If y-you w-want.." She ducked her head slightly, not really sure what else to say to his offer. Normally, she cooked meals herself, but she didn't think it could hurt to let him cook if he wanted to do that.. At least, she hoped not.

Kris smiled as he picked out several ingredients from the refrigerator. "Very well. Let the cooking begin!" After finding all the pots and pans he needed to make his dishes. He focused intently as he glided from one spot to the next as he attempted to make the batter for one part of his dish. Still stirring the batter with one hand, he managed to season the other dish, grab it, and put it in the stove. After done with his stirring, he lowered the oven's heat, poured the batter in another pan, put in the batter, and take the already finished dish on top of the stove. After finishing making the cake batter, he made the filling, then heated it on the stovetop, stirring intensly. After another half hour, his dishes were complete. He placed the two dishes on the table (Salmon and a Chocolate cake), as well as the appropriate silverware. "Done! If you need me to help with anything, just ask." He sat down at the edge of the table and started to eat.

OoC: Sorry it's so long. I take cooking very seriously. BTW the cake he made is a German chocolate cake with chocolate icing. The salmon is just normally cooked salmon.

Selene blinked several times as she watched Kristopher getting ingredients out of the refrigerator and heard his words. Apparently, he did want to cook after all. For a few minutes, she just stood there in silence, curiously watching as he started cooking.. It was amazing. Usually, she did things one at a time.. And he was making things she never had before. Eventually, she realized it was probably creepy to be watching someone cook, even though she was only curious, so she turned and went into the living room. She curled up on the couch like a cat to wait. She really didn't have anything to do, so the next half hour was spend resisting the urge to go back into the kitchen just to see what was going on. It was really hard to do, but somehow she managed.. Mostly through fearfulness. She wasn't quite that brave.
By the time the boy had finished cooking, her mouth was watering from the delicious smells wafting through the dorm. She was hungry.. Very hungry indeed, especially since she had only had a coffee earlier, which she hadn't even gotten to drink half of. As she heard the sound of the table being set, she sat up and wandered over. As he had already set the table, she just went and sat at the only other place there. The food looked as good as it smelled, something which made her stomach growl loudly. Her face turned slightly pink at this and she lowered her head to try to hide behind her hair. Well, now she knew she was growing her hair out. Short hair was hard to hide behind. She glanced up at him with slightly wide eyes, then ducked her head again while softly whispering, "O-okay.. T-thanks.." Then she carefully picked up a fork and started to eat as well.

Kris tilted his head curiously as Selene sat across from him. As she sat down, she lowered her head. Was she praying, or just hiding in embarassment? Either way, he was unfamiliar with the action.
After a few minutes of eating in pure silence, he said, "You know... I've had a lot of practice. I learned this on the streets, believe it or not..." He messed around with the salmon he had left on his plate with his forks. "D-Do you like it?"

Selene paused after she took the first bite of her food and blinked a little, surprised by how good it tasted. After a couple moments, she continued eating, enjoying every bite of the salmon on her plate until Kristopher started talking. She blinked and looked at him, with her fork still in her mouth.. Then quickly pulled it out and swallowed. She was surprised to hear that he had learned to cook so well on the streets. It wasn't something one would expect.. Not even her. "R-really?" She asked quietly. Her voice was always so very soft. She watched him messing with his remaining food, then nodded quickly in response to his question. "Y-yes! I-it's.. Very g-good.." She smiled slightly as she spoke, then looked down at her plate.

Kristopher, glad that Selene liked his food, continued, "Oh yeah, it wasn't much, but I worked for a chef... It's a long story." Although he only worked for the chef to steal his valuables. "It was a hard job to get, but it's worth it now. Seeing you happy..." Kris trailed off, eating his cake now.

Selene put down her fork on her plate and looked at Kristopher while he spoke, giving him her full attention. She tilted her head slightly to one side, then offered a small smile. "Oh.. T-that e-explains it.." She meant that him working for a chef explained his good cooking skills. It was surprising to hear that a chef had hired someone from off the streets though. Enough that she suspected there was a bit more to it than one would assume, but she didn't ask. She nodded slowly in agreement when he said it was a hard job to get. She could believe that.. Especially if the chef had really high standards. She wasn't really sure what to say after his last words though, so she just picked up her fork again and finished eating what little salmon was left on her plate.

Kristopher glanced at Selene as she continued to eat. He looked down at his own plate, seeing that it was almost empty. He wasn't sure what he should say to Selene, seeing as how she was still eating. He could feel another feeling; a foreign one. It made him all warm inside. He couldn't tell what it was. "Ah... Selene... I... Do you know what the meaning of friendship is? I've read it in books... But I don't understand it."

It didn't take Selene more than a minute to finish eating her salmon, then she looked up at Kristopher as she heard him start talking again. "Hmm?" Her expression was so solemn, though her dark eyes were slightly wide. She slowly blinked, then frowned in confusion, not really sure how to answer his question. She knew what friendship was from books too, but she had also had a few friends. From what he said, he wasn't looking for the definition from a book. She just looked at him for a few moments before dropping her gaze as she thought it over. "W-well..." She hesitated a moment before continuing softly, "I.. I g-guess.. I-it's d-d-different...F-for d-different.. P-people." She glanced up at him, then looked down at her plate, wondering if he would be upset at how badly she was answering his question. She bit her lip slightly, clasping her hands together in front of her with the fork between them. "F-for me... I-it's l-like.. T-trusting s-s-someone.. A-and w-wanting t-t-to k-keep t-them s-safe..? W-while k-knowing t-they'd.. Do t-the s-same for m-me..." Her voice grew quieter as she spoke until it was nearly impossible to hear. She knew friendship was more than that, but she was having a hard time putting words to it.

Kristopher tilted his head to the side like a stray puppy as he listened to Selene explain how friendship worked. He knew explaining his feelings were hard enough, so it must've been a pain to have to explain friendship. When she finished, he cradled his chin in the noose between his pointer and thumb fingers. "Hmm... Is that... what you think is friendship?" He pondered this for a moment, then smiled. "Well then... It's been too long since I've felt anything other than pain. I will learn how to feel... I'm tired of being a stony pawn." His face turned solemn, and he stood up. "I will protect you will all of my might..."

Selene looked at Kristopher and nodded slightly, her expression still as solemn as ever. She tilted her head slightly as she waited for him to finish thinking. She was a bit startled to see him smile, but assumed that that meant something good. She slowly blinked, then frowned in confusion at his words. "S-stony p-pawn??" He didn't seem like someone who was easily used.. At least not to her. Then again, timid girls who tend to be scared of their own shadows most of the time aren't really good at accurately figuring things like that out. She let out a surprised "eep" noise when he stood up and looked up at him with slightly wide eyes. At first, she wondered if something had upset him, but when he spoke.. Her face turned very red and she ducked her head. "O-oh.." Now, that was something very embarrassing to hear.

Kristopher frowned as Selene hid her face from him. It obviously embarrassed her, and it just made Kris feel akward. "....Ah... I'm sorry." Trying to find a way to change the topic, he looked around. He then noticed both of their plates were empty. "I'll take care of these..." As he reached over for Selene's plate, his looked at the table and swiped the plates from the other edge. He balanced all of the dishes and walked over to the sink. He turned on the hot water and started to clean the plates. As he cleaned, he saw his reflection in one of the plates. He was blushing. He looked downwards, and his hair drooped to hide his face. I am never cutting my hair again.
