Welcome all to the Anniversary Carnival event! There will be events going on ICly and OOCly so please read the following carefully.
gaia_starIC EVENT: an IC event means it is in character. That means the only way to participate in that event is to use a quest character or an existing character. There are certain events limited to existing characters only, such as setting up a booth, so make sure you read carefully before proceeding.
gaia_starOOC EVENT: an OOC event means it is out of character. That means ANYONE can participate as long as they fulfill the conditions of that thread. Some examples may be things such as scavenger hunt contests or a free daily raffle for you to post in.
There are a bunch of events, so don't feel too overwhelmed and get started wherever you feel comfortable! Each post below will outline each event and how to go at it!
Once again everyone is invited, we have over 20 characters to give away!
This is our free premade raffle open for all! There are 16 premades to give away! All you need to do is post once per day in the raffle! We will also be distributing additional tickets in in thread events in our main threadhere! It is free and open to everyone who is interested in obtaining a student to call their own!
This is our special carnival raffle! Unlike the circus raffle which focuses on premades, you can only enter this raffle if you win a carnival raffle ticket. Carnival raffle tickets are given out in the [ BOOTH ] rps you see in this subforum. If one is marked [ OPEN ], you may enter it, read the first posts in the thread, and follow the carnival rules.
PARTICIPATING IN THE CARNIVAL BOOTHS FOR TICKETS (NEWBIES + OLDBIES):
- You can only participate in the carnival raffle if you have a QUEST CHARACTER here OR an official enrolled character. Please note: Quest characters CANNOT use their natural or Fear abilities. They are limited to humanoid form only. This is to prevent complications. If you are unsure about your quest character, and need secondary help, simply post your quest link in the main thread, and a GM will help you and give you some constructive crit. Once you have gotten the proper crit, your character has 1000% clearance. This part is optional, if you know what you are doing, you are free to just make a quest, but we reserve the right to contact you and ask you to change your quest if it does not follow the shop canon!
- You may also notice that certain booths also give out unique prizes or special minipet prizes. That is absolutely okay, just make sure you follow the correct information and give them your minis account so they can grant you the prizes if you win one!
- Please do not harass booth owners. Sometimes it may take them a while to get to your prize. Please be patient as these are other users as well who are also, like you, participating for fun.
- All posts that you make in booths must be IC according to that character and rped out. For example, if you participate in a goldfish booth, just rp out how your character would react to being a part of the goldfish booth, and their reactions to the results they roll. It is pretty straightfoward! Posts that are NOT rped out upon redeem will not be eligible for prizes. Once again booths must be rped ICLY there is NO OOC content inside of any booth.
- Each booth also has unique minipets obtainable only by participating in that booth. See if you can collect them all, for a chance at a very special prize.
- You may win a max of 5 carnival tickets per day and participate in as many as you'd like. Ticket redeems reset at 12:00 am PST every day. They do not carry over, so if you win 4 on Tuesday and 6 on Wednesday, you will get 4 the Tuesday and 5 the Wednesday.
- If you create a booth you may participate in any booth but your own! You may also participate with more than one character (but a max of ONE quest character) if you'd like! Spread throughout all your characters, you may ICly claim the max 5 ticket limit per day. So if your character Steve wins 5 tickets and your character John wins a ticket, that is still 5 tickets you can redeem.
- Please only participate in a booth ONCE per day per character. If you fail, try again tomorrow, at 12:00 am PST.
You must have an official TiH character that is ENROLLED to sign up for a carnival booth! It is pretty easy. Simply go HERE to post your booth idea, and give us an example of mechanic breakdowns. A GM will then approve it. Once approved, you are good to go, and may create a [ BOOTH PRP ] thread. Mark it [ CLOSED ] if you are setting up/ preparing/ need some time in between and [ OPEN ] if it is open for business!
- You may create a booth with up to three other people! Due to population expansion, I do ask that you create ONE booth per user. So if the three of you decide to make a booth, you cannot make another booth, with yourself or anyone else.
- All people who make that booth will be given a special event minipet to distribute. At the end of the event, each of you will get three of that minipet for your hard work and a special minipets booth maker trophy.
- In addition, as long as you set up a booth and have it running for MOST of the event and give out at least 10 tickets for the whole duration of the event, you will get +10 rp points per character involved.
- All booth makers will also be rolled into a custom AND/OR ALT ART RAFFLE for a unique custom/alt art slot!
- You can only distribute a max of one ticket per user per day. That means if 10 people get to your booth, you can distribute 10 tickets. Please make sure you have a fail ratio set up, with around 50% fail ratio (50% success rate) for winning a carnival ticket, however you want to do this.
Here is an example of how to set up a booth: (see the spoiler tag)
- I am Steve, and I team up with Jill and Jim to create a booth. We are using our characters A, B and C. We have decided we are going to do a kitsune versus tanuki squirt bottle event. In the booth proposal I will describe how this work.
Booth theme: A squirt event featuring kitsune versus tanuki!
Mechanics: A player will run up to the booth. They can choose kitsune or tanuki. Each of them are water balloons that you must squirt as much water in to explode before the time is up! - If you pick the kitsune balloon you get to reroll any of your dice ONCE per game. - If you pick the tanuki balloon you get to add +5 to your water balloon stats.
You start off a 0 water in your water balloon. Roll 1d6. You can roll this 4 times. Add up each roll to your previous amount. So if you roll 3, 4, 5, 6 that is 3+4+5+6 = 18 total. Compare your squirted roll to the chart below to see what prize you pick up! Once again you can only try once per day per character!
If you roll less than 10: You tried! Maybe next time you will do better? If you roll 10 - 15: Not bad! You get a carnival ticket to use in the carnival customs raffle! If you roll 16 - 20: You are amazing! You get a carnival ticket AND a minipets prize! 21 - 24: Oops! You squirted too much water and it exploded and the booth people are so mad! Maybe try again tomorrow?

OOC: SCAVENGER EVENT "MYSTERY PUZZLE HUNT" EVENT
There will be a scavenger hunt event that will last the duration of the entire event from start to finish whenever it is solved. It is possible that nobody will solve it and it is possible that it may be completed within the first 10 minutes!
- The top 3 people who complete this event will get their choice of any of the characters in the FREE PREMADE RAFFLE. That means yes, you can come in, decide you want X character from the raffle for example, and that will be claimed as yours and removed from the raffle. Why are we doing this? Because we have 18 characters to give away, and that evens the raffle out to a nice 15! And also trust me when I say this scavenger hunt is going to be hard work.
Rules for the scavenger hunt will be posted ASAP. I will begin on the 24th of August approximately in the evening. You can work solo, in pairs, or in groups of 3; the choice is up to you!
If you win and you prefer a minipets prize, you can have your choice of any minipets on site, even the retired pets, rare elites, whatever it is as long as it is not special edition! The next person following then, will get the choice of a premade.

CYO MINIPET EVENT
In the festive spirit of things we will be having a CYO minipet event! Any one you create will be uploaded as a special edition pet on the minis site! Please note, we will modify the colours on our template, so please make sure you are comfortable with knowing the GMs will be adding a shading layer on top that is the default shading layer.

CUSTOM CHARACTER AUCTIONS
At the very end of the event, we will be doing custom character auctions. This will be held AFTER the prizes for everything else has been announced, that way you have a choice of trying only if you really want to! Due to strange marketplace issues, we will only be accepting gold and premium items at average marketplace value. Yes that means if people are selling that item at 10 bill and the average market value values it at 1 bill, it is definitely best if you sell it and use pure.
There will be 7 artists total for the auctions, they will run for 1-3 days in pairs. All auction customs when they have hit their growth quota have guaranteed growths. If you are asking for alt art, when your character grows, you will get the guaranteed growth as well. If you are asking for alt art and your character is at their final stage, you may pay 100 rp points to ask for a guaranteed growth of their alt art/ upgraded/ alumni art in the guaranteed growths thread.
