So, as some of you, know, I am queer. I'm moving into my college dorm on August 22nd. I'm coming out as queer and I'm also coming out as someone who is unsure of their gender identity. I will explain it all on my Facebook when that day comes. I will admit right now that I am kind of scared. But I'm ready. I'm done hiding. If you'd like to add/support me on my coming out day, message me on Gaia. I'd like some support on Facebook as well. I hate asking for likes, but I want to show my family that I am not alone. Even a nice comment would be appreciated.

Postponed until the eleventh of October. My mother is in a custody battle, and coming out right after I left the house would make my family seem unaccepting.

I suppose it goes without saying, but I shall say anyway that I'm definitely putting in my support, even if it's only two cents' worth. ;p
That said, I'm terrible at showing supportive-ness, so sorry ahead of time for my terrible support skills.
So here's what I got: I know it's been said probably many times that it is scary, and I can't really understand the whole picture because of the fact that I don't know the people you're coming out to very well and how they'll take it. In the end, though, you just have to remember that there are people in the world, myself included, that will always, invariably, unconditionally accept you for you, no matter who you are.
Just as Miss Luck says, we're here for you and that's what this guild is for, so always remember that you've got us even if it seems like you've got no one.

Thanks a million, Mizu. I know they'll still love me. Might be a little disappointed, but they'll still love me. I likely will not get any hate comments, etc. A few concerned messages maybe, but that's it. It's just so they know. I'm coming out as a ________ who likes ________. I think the gender thing will be more of a shocker, tbh. Any everyone's support - no matter how it comes to me - means the whole world.

I wish you best of luck. Even I have not come out to everyone about my gender identity, only a few close friends. It is a brave thing you're doing, but you know as well as I do that the others are right - you will be a much happier person for it. I will certainly be there to support you! <3

Hi Chromo,
I will certainly support you here on Gaia. It sounds like you are taking two big steps at once on Aug 22nd. Good Luck on both. Just to let you know I have a few dear friends that have alternate life styles. I mentioned one briefly the other day. I support my friends no matter who they are. It looks like their are people here that truly care about you and I think that's wonderful. I hope that you have people around you in person that can help you in this big change in your life. Having a support system is important these days.

I'm happy to show my support - this is a very brave thing to do, but in a perfect world it wouldn't have to be... which is why you need friends now!
Remember that moving to a new place like college is a GREAT opportunity as well! You have a fresh start with new people who have never met you and know nothing about you other than what you show them... so show them who you WANT to be, and that is who they will meet, know, and love!

I wish you all the luck on this big day for you. I will have you in my thoughts today and I know that things will go just fine for you. Yes, their maybe some adjustments for you and the people that know you but that is part of what life is about. For me each major change in life is like a big adventure. Enjoy the new freedom that you will have in college and look forward to all of the interesting people that you will meet their. Don't be surprised when you come across others that are just like you. smile I went to college a long time ago and met a lot of interesting and nice people their. Most of all I wish you happiness.
