Location: Ausica's Townhouse - First Floor
The interior is minimalistic and elegant, the color scheme consisting of reds and white with other neutral tones offering interesting pops of color to entice the eye. The interior decorations consist of various framed pieces, pottery, and trinkets put on display. Upon entering, there is a small alcove to place belongings before stepping into the living room. A staircase is to the immediate right and a few steps beyond is the spacious living room area. A simple table sits in the middle with various seating options placed strategically for relaxation and entertaining purposes. Just beyond is an open kitchen artfully condensed with a dining area tucked to the side beside two large windows. A flowerbed and a small pond is visible from this area.

Giving herself one final look from head to toe in one of the floor length mirrors contained in her abode, Ausica gave a small smile of satisfaction. "A bit dated, but I definitely look like I'll be in the kitchen today."
An ironic sort of pride beamed in her expression. She was no stranger to the kitchen but rarely took the opportunity to make an event of food preparation. Many nights of mont blanc and various cuisines with tildes peppering their spellings had comprised most of her dining in recent memory. Two weeks, three days, 13 hours, 12 minutes, and 34 seconds...35 seconds to be exact. The decision to refresh her palette and idling cooking skills came about the night before. A few rounds of sake had yielded a proposal from Amarante's assistant and dear friend Hyde involving baking. One that she could not refuse as her tongue was giving affirmation before her mind. The plan was to hover about while the various batters, icings, and fillings were prepped, making sure to sample from conception to completion. And who knows, maybe she'd feel up to helping whisk or crack some eggs! "I do hope that everything will be as delectable as I hope. After all, the amount and price of the requested ingredients requires at least one Michelin Star of quality."Turning about to head for her living room, her vision briefly draped over the kitchen as she passed, freshly stocked and cleaned with care.Soon to be chaos, she was certain. But the quiet before the storm is still welcome peace. The recamier finally in loafing distance, she melted into the soft cushions on her side, one leg draped over the other as she awaited her accomplice for the day.

There was a certain level of apprehension going to someone new's home for the first time when it was a cordial visit and not one where a lot of blood was to be spilled. This was also a friend of Amarante's, so any faux pas committed would invariably lead to her getting shot. Hyde was going to try to be on her best behavior, though her first encounter with Ausica kinda saw the two of them undressed together with Hyde as her servant. They did since start anew, but things were a little different here. She just had to focus on baking and making friends. Baking and making. Baking and making. The home was incredible on the outside. Much nicer than her own that had seen countless people breaking in through the window and the roof, not to mention odd parcels and people left on the front porch. What the heck was up with this place? "Hopefully you remember everything you were boasting about, you pointy-eared dumbass." Memory not good. Baking from memory may not have been the smartest idea, but she was showing her confidence in a different way since she couldn't really dress like normal. Slowly she approached the front door. This was her last opportunity to back down. She could either look like a welcher or an absolute idiot. She wasn't sure which was worse. But she did want to get to know Ausica better, so. Gently as she could manage Hyde knocked on the door. "Ausi-ki~? Are you in?"

The moment of reckoning had arrived, and surprisingly there was a lack of hellfire and brimstone. In fact, it sounded a bit timid. Ausica sat up straight and smoothed over her apron before standing and making her way to the door.
Those few seconds carried considerable contemplation for her as inviting a guest who was still very much a mystery was not par for the course. Hyde was an intimidating figure in height and physical prowess. Definitely made of sturdy stuff to take Amarante's whippings on a regular basis. A being who appeared to thrive in battle and carried a scent of blood. It would be most interesting to peel back the layers and see what was underneath. Closing her hand around the doorknob, she pulled the door open and offered a small smile upon seeing her guest.
"Hello Ms. Hyde, and welcome to my home! Do come inside. No need to be shy."

Any opportunity to flee was pretty much gone once confronted with her host. Her host who looked like she was in a high school cooking class as opposed to a upper-end home kitchen. It was unexpectedly cute. The woman in the outfit was gorgeous, but the outfit made her cuter. Maybe the evening wouldn't be so bad. "Ah, Ausi-ki~ You look wonderful tonight! Is everything ready for us?"Taking up the invitation Hyde gingerly stepped across the threshold. It was always interesting coming into a new place for the first time. The first step was always important based on how loud the 'creak' was when she put her weight on her foot. Most people were not seven hundred pounds of compacted muscle. There was little noise as she came through, so all was off to a good start. If it sounded like an old galley at sea then it might have been better to call it a night. Instead Hyde continued through and took in her surroundings. This place was so... organized... compared to her own home that it was almost embarrassing. But she didn't care about the state of her stuff as the only people allowed in - those that were actually invited - generally didn't seem to care about the clutter. But she didn't always have the time - or mind - to put things in their proper places. Some of the pieces in Ausica's home looked fragile. So very, very fragile. The elf made it a point to stay at least a body's length away from anything that looked like it would shatter. Most of her own things were reinforced or made special for her to resist her strength. None of this looked to have the same treatment. She was the proverbial 'bull in a china shop' here. Maybe this wasn't a good idea. "Ara~ Ausi-ki, your home is so lovely and... delicate looking." Why did it seem like her voice boomed in here? Nothing could actually break from sound vibrations, right?

"Everything is in order. I took the list you gave me and completed the specified shopping already. Also, I'm happy to see that you have clothes underneath your apron~"
A modest Hyde was certainly a sight to behold and Ausica made sure to drink up every detail as she closed the door behind her. Aggressive and smoldering were the words that came to Ausica's mind when thinking of Hyde's usual attire. Most would have looked upon her and just seen a scantily clad elf. But Ausica knew that the bare flesh was not to entice. If anything, the firm and well formed musculature was an invitation to brutality if one was foolish enough to cross her. In her current dress however, Hyde looked as if she would dread to so much as breathe on a fly in a harmful manner. The contrast in demeanor was fascinating, truly. Amazing what a change of clothes could do. Or was it the clothes? "I'm glad you can appreciate what I've done with my humble abode. Before I corral you into the kitchen, would you like some tea? I know alcohol is usually the custom but I'd rather you sober for this culinary adventure we are embarking on."

Where normally there would have been a look of sheer confidence, Hyde's face seemed a bit flustered. "I-I wear clothes! Normally, I do! I-Its just that I prefer to... not." Indeed she had figured just an apron would have been preferable - were this her own home. Instead she had to put more on than usual and it made the elf wonder if and when she would burst a seam from the tightness in some locations. There wasn't really much time to get alterations on clothing one didn't think they were going to need. "You look-er, wait, already said that. Nevermind!"Ever aware of her surroundings and taking care not to damage anything Hyde couldn't help but be aware of Ausica's eyes on her at all times - like she was being appraised. Hyde knew very little of the demon, which made her wary, but they were a friend of Amarante's, which made her more relaxed. The two feelings were having it out inside and it made her really want a distraction. "Ah, tea would be lovely. Alcohol is for celebrating and forgetting. We can find something to celebrate later when we don't need fine motor skills." That sounded weird. Was it weird? That sounded really weird.

A second guest in the form of a pregnant pause invaded the living room for a few moments, finally leaving as Ausica smirked in amusement. No pressure at all and Hyde was already offering up some real gems in conversation. What would happen once she decided to truly push some of her buttons? "Hnn, celebration huh? I like that. And there's nothing finer to celebrate than a victory~"Ausica thought better of the potential teasing as she strolled away into the kitchen and prepared some fresh Jasmine tea. She knew that her tongue could go quite far...so to speak. And in the name of exquisite treats, she dared not jeopardize this play date by angering Hyde. Strangely enough, the prospect of no sweets was much more prominent than the potential damage to her home or body in such an event. Not everyone could have their priorities straight after all. "What would you define as victory in your current situation, Hyde?"Two glass tea cups filled with fragrant tea rested on the saucers Ausica held in her hand as she turned back to her guest. The smirk had softened to a smile that played upon the corners of her lips, eyes filled with playful curiosity as she made her way back to her guest and offered one cup to her with all the grace of a seasoned butler.

There was that feeling again. It was as though Ausica was the predator stalking Hyde, waiting to pounce. But it was so indirect that it reminded her of Amarante. Were all demons this way? Weren't they different? Then why didn't it feel that way? "Indeed, Ausi-ki~ Victory is that feeling of crushing the opposition. The stronger the resistance, the better it feels." She practically laughed those last words. It reminded her of combat adrenaline highs long since gone. Hyde spent the few moments it took Ausica to bring the tea lost in her inner revelry. She really wanted a fight now. Most of the people in Durem were either too peace-y or weak. That really sucked. And it also meant she had to go somewhere else completely for a good fight. Before she could get further into thoughts of fighting Ausica came back with tea and a question. "My current situation? You mean... this?" She even saw fit to point down to emphasize her current setting. "Or... Yeah, no, this. I don't know for sure. Delicious baked goods made right?" Was she driving at something? Or was that just a way to start a conversation. Things were just so awkward for her tonight. Very gingerly did she take the tea from the demon. Glassware that was likely not as strong as she would like. As a result all of her movements were slow and calculated. The cup seemed like it was tiny in her hand even though it was normal sized. "You have good taste in tea." Hyde still felt very awkward. But so far it just seemed to amuse Ausica rather than dissuade her from their plan for the night. There was that, at least.

"You know Hyde, your opinion on the glories of victory is probably the most comfortable sounding answer you've given all night. Quite the paradox you are if battle is where you find your peace."A nonchalant sip of tea followed that statement, eyes briefly falling shut as she savored the fragrant liquid. Hyde's discomfort was quite palpable at this point and it had Ausica slightly concerned. Her guest didn't have any reason to be as nervous as she was from her perspective. After all, she was making sure to be as non-threatening as possible. Physically and verbally. But she believed she had just the thing to remedy the situation. "And you are partially correct! Delicious treats are precisely what you should be aiming to produce as I have high expectations of you. In this case, victory would be meeting said expectations."
Her eyes flashed open as her tea cup gently tinkled against its complementary saucer. "For the sake of being a hostess who is not a complete bore, what do you think about having a bit of a competition?"

Hyde simply shrugged at the comment. "In battle things are far more simple than anywhere else. If they are not your ally, they get killed. They die and you live on to fight again. It's been that way for millennia." What kind of life did Ausica live if she never fought for pleasure? The urge to make herself small was strong, but she was already restraining herself rather well. Everything still seemed so fragile even though she had not actually touched anything but the tea cup and saucer. The chair was holding her quite well as well. Maybe she would chance relaxing a little and actually interact. "What do you mean by partially?"A good sip of tea and she replied to the last question presented to her. "A competition? What kind of competition? Against whom?" Admittedly, Hyde's interest was piqued and it showed.

"Simple is living in a cottage, raising some cattle, and harvesting grain. Combat is decidedly much more complicated and destructive in various manners. I'm assuming it's always been a significant part of your life if you regard it as normalcy." Of course, this was a detail made painfully obvious by Hyde's build and demeanor. Her abode was also more of an armory as she recalled. Still, she was curious to know more about her past. And perhaps in the process discover the reason why a femme fatale such as herself would agree to such a domesticated outing. "Making the treats is only the first part. The true test is whether or not I will enjoy them. I'd say you can claim victory then. Which brings me to my proposal!"Taking a seat across from her guest, she crossed her legs and took another sip of tea. Things were becoming more relaxed now, which she appreciated. "You will be doing the majority of the baking today, that is a given. However, what if I offered to make something? And whoever has the tastiest treat is considered victorious?"

Ausica's idea of simple sounded a little more like 'boring'. "Fighting is really simple. Any idiot can kill someone. But those who survive a fight have a little more reason to be glad to be alive and appreciate the simple life." That may have missed the point. Hyde was still a little edgy in here, but it was progressively fading. It was difficult to not pay attention to her host's movements. Ausica was very elegant and very particular, so every movement had some meaning. Not that Hyde knew all of the meanings behind them, but nothing was offensive. Not that she felt like anything today would require violence, but she didn't live this long by letting her guard down. "I see. I am interested in this competition." It would be interesting to see just what the demon would come up with. She was nowhere near as old as Hyde, but she had different exposure during her life that the elf had not. Another drink of her tea had her emptying the cup. Not a sipper like most when the tea was good. Especially if they were to be doing something else. Or there was the possibility of another cup. "I will be curious to see what you come up with."

"Not to be rude, but that rings rather hollow for me. I wouldn't be grateful for a violent reminder that life is perfectly transient."Another sip from her teacup was punctuated with a soft sigh. Ausica was not much of a lover or a fighter but of the two, fighting was definitely a much more mundane prospect in her eyes. Being raised amongst warmongering nobles had a way of taking the fun out of battles. "I'm glad that you approve of my idea! Shall we attack my freshly stocked kitchen? It's time for you to show me that it isn't just your boastful words from the other night that are sweet~"Her own smile was saccharine now as she rested the cup in her lap delicately. Normally she would try harder at pleasantries and obligatory banter. But what were good manners in the face of delicious cookies? And decadent cakes? If she didn't get to satisfy her sweet tooth soon, violence may become a more tantalizing course for the evening.
