The first thing you notice is that everything is dark. You cannot see, though you are not blind, it is just dark. However, no light source seems to break this strange stillness. You must walk around carefully. As you move around and feel yourself around, you hit long, stone walls. It seems they are clustered around you, in a varying pattern. You are in a maze, one that you must navigate through blind. The only comforting sound is the voices of those around you, familiar, soothing, and sometimes mocking.
OOC CORRIDOR OF MADNESSWelcome to the corridor of madness! This room is very dark, and because of it, you cannot tell where you are in the maze. Your goal is to get to the exit room. As you walk around you may hear voices that speak to you. They sound exactly like people you recognize (see events below). All players start off at the area marked 1. From there it is your goal to get to area 20. - Please mark ALWAYS AT THE TOP OF YOUR POST what area you are in. - This plays like a maze . Everyone starts at 1. Roll 1d4 to navigate the maze. Then, add the dice number you rolled onto your CURRENT maze number. So if I am in one and I roll 3, I land on area FOUR. - You must wait 15 ooc minutes between posts before you can roll a 1d4 again. In that time, you can rp with anyone who is in your same maze number. You can only hear other than imaginary voices, characters that are in the same maze number as you. You can also feel them if you wish. - Also note the room effects. Look at the current room number you are at and match it to the diagram above. If it says "back 2 steps" then you go back 2 steps, so from 5 it turns to 3. - If it says "Event 1", please look at the EVENT LIST below. Whatever happens to you happens to everyone who lands on this room. - If you and someone else in the same area number would like to PVP while waiting, you may do so. General battle mechanics apply. However, the accuracy modifier in the room is -10. Yes, that literally is 2d6-10 for first year students, so think carefully before attacking. As nobody can see each other, it is pretty easy to trick your way out of things with a few careful words. You do not need to destroy each other, you can just get a couple of hits in before you decide to roll your dice. You can also just talk and interact with people in the same area. - If you land on an ARTIFACT post you get a special artifact claim spot. You can redeem this at the end of the event. Please keep track of this post in your character's journal and have the link handy at the end. ICly your character brushes against something but it disappears right in their hands, some sort of strange rock-like object. - If you roll more than 10 times, you can automatically skip to the end. - All event effects do NOT carry over to other rooms. gaia_crown [ LIST OF EVENTS ] These events CANCEL out each other, meaning if you get one and then another, just replace the last with the most recent. EVENT 1: You hear a voice and it sounds exactly like a close relative of yours. They begin to continuously mock you for a failure you have encountered in your life. The jests get worse the longer you linger in the room. Only you can hear them (though you may not realize it). Please do rp it out. This effect persists as long as you are in this corridor. EVENT 2: You hear a voice and it sounds exactly like a close friend of yours. They begin to continuously mock you for decisions you have made and are concerned about. The jests get worse the longer you linger in the room. Only you can hear them (though you may not realize it). Please do rp it out. This effect persists as long as you are in this corridor. EVENT 3: You hear a voice and it sounds exactly like a mentor you look up to. If this is not applicable you may choose a close friend. They begin to continuously mock you for your choice of friends and make you doubt your friends' loyalties towards you. The jests get worse the longer you linger in the room. Only you can hear them (though you may not realize it). Please do rp it out. This effect persists as long as you are in this corridor. EVENT 4: You hear a voice and it sounds exactly like you. It begins to mock your existence and self worth. The jests get worse the longer you linger in the room. Only you can hear them (though you may not realize it). Please do rp it out. This effect persists as long as you are in this corridor. EVENT 5: You hear a voice and it sounds exactly like someone you are afraid of. They begin to threaten you. The jests get worse the longer you linger in the room. Only you can hear them (though you may not realize it). Please do rp it out. This effect persists as long as you are in this corridor. EVENT 6: You hear a voice it only makes strange garbled noises. You cannot understand what it's saying but it sounds menacing. It gets worse the longer you linger in the room. Only you can hear them (though you may not realize it). Please do rp it out. This effect persists as long as you are in this corridor. gaia_crown [ IF YOU COMPLETED THIS ROOM ] - Once completed, (at area 20), create a post here and title the top as EXIT . You may also wait for other players and linger at the exit (and talk to players or pvp there). Once you are ready to move on you may all exit and pick the next room. IF this is your last room, you may move to the SECRET ROOM HERE. - If this is your 2nd room, and you wish to not do any more rooms, you can just linger here until the post at Thurs June 12th @ 11:00 PM PST otherwise, you can linger and move to a room you haven't completed and slowly work your way through those.

As expected, Maple had no idea what was going on. First an internship and then the place was practically destroyed and their only hope of getting home remained in some weird sort of quest of things. But really, she should have expected things to go horribly wrong as they always did. Knowing their luck, the portal was out of commission due to the suddenly rising tower in the middle of the desert - that just to happened to form under the building they had been in. (Of course!)
Just thinking about it, the witch gave a whine and pressed her hands to the sides of her face as she looked forlorn in the darkness. This was teeeeerrible! And she was in a room that was completely dark too!
The voices were not helping. Nope. Uuuuuuurg.

Space 2 Move Forward 2! Event 6!
The last thing Sammy clearly recalled before leaving the Agency was a window shattering. The fall was quick, but the moment leading to jumping out the window? Those moments seemed slow, like a strange few seconds of a choice that just had to be made.
Of course they found the only way to get back to Halloween was to venture into the twisted spire and get to the agency. So why leave in the first place again?
Pushing through the first few doors into the Spire Sammy quickly found herself in a dark narrow hall. Something wasn't right as it seemed like the hall had gotten oddly narrow, and after a few turns she was utterly lost.
"Jack Dammit... a maze?"
"Too stupid to figure out a maze?"
The voice cut through the darkness clear as day, where it came from she wasn't sure, but the voice had a name, and it was a name that put Sammy on the spot.
"R-Red? Red where are you? What is this place, this isn't the Haunted house this isn't that place inside of it where are we?"
There was barking laughter, a familiar sound from a time long past and a sound that twisted the cold fire in her gut into a tight ball of internal terror. "You've always been a disappointment. From the day we first found you, a broken play thing of a demon. We should have left you, you could barely speak let alone think for yourself, look at you now, just as hopeless as ever."
Hissing Sammy started to move faster, "R-red stop, stop saying that, that's not true." There was another bark, "IT WAS ALWAYS TRUE TRAITOR!" The memories, the memories started to come back, twisted distorted, a darkness clouding her vision deeper then the dark hallway. She banged into the wall bruising her shoulder as she rushed through the dark hall Red's laughter chasing her the whole way down.
A twist a turn, she continued to fumble in the dark coughing and hissing in fear, when she finally got away from Red's mocking voice she slumped into a corner and sat down. Tiny purple flames marked her location, but even with her burning sight she could only see so far ahead.

The twisted voices where calling, she couldn't make it out, they where angry, angry like Red, was it Red's voice again? She couldn't tell it was a mix of voices, a lot of anger a lot of hate.

Suffering. That was the feeling that filled Sammy as she listened to the twisted voices gnashing their teeth and shouting words she could only half understand, at one point it seemed like they where getting closer, she didn't have a choice she had to move, had to leave, had to get to the Agency, why the Agency out seemed like a better choice, any out, somewhere that wasn't here.
Scrambling in the dark she only moved herself further back, closer to Red? Farther from Them? She wasn't sure, her eyes burned a little brighter, this hallway was quiet at least, and here she could catch her breath, well, less her breath and more collect her wits.
But she'd never admit that.
Right?

Their mission was to locate Medea... whoever she was. Kylee had never encountered her before, nor any horsemen, though it had only ever been briefly explained to her. Moreover, she could also grasp from what Caelius had said, that this Medea was probably someone of power within the Horsemen. Someone important. Someone who they definitely had to be cautious with, and even more so when she was just a trainee.
Class S mission indeed. At first, she had thought it wasn't so bad while hunting FEAR infused objects in a team, but this was getting serious. Akila was no longer a brooch upon her scarf, she was now summoned, the height of her spear stretching up above her head. Her weapon certainly looked formidable, and she hoped that the mere presence of it would deter others from trying to engage her in a fight.
But the room she entered was dark. There was no hope of using Akila as a visual deterrence, though Kylee had to resort to using the base of her spear to prod around in the dark so she could move forward with care.

"Mmur of Famine," he said, offering his hand to shake, then lowering it, then raising it again. "I'm sorry. Halloween." Mmur looked at his open palm as if it was a separate entity he had to make excuses for. Good afternoon, this is Handy. He likes shaking, awkwardly prodding at skelephones, and doing other things the students do."Is that really what is happening here? I thought..." He had thought his choice wouldn't matter, especially not in a dream, but it seemed that some were taking things quite seriously. A rift. "Hm. I guess what I thought doesn't matter. Yes. Charon." Mmur recalled the ferryman's master's words regarding Insanity and their extinction. Surely they would no longer remain in this world if they tried to make war in their current state. "I'll stay on Death's side, even though I would prefer there were no si—"The soldier paused as he noticed their surroundings once again. While the world had seemed to close in as he spoke to Nkosazana, it expanded again now, the sand in the distance birthing a large, somewhat familiar pillar. Mmur watched Medea and Charon with fascination and a small bit of confusion. "The tower of the ancients?" he said under his breath as chaos churned around them. "We should... I'll see you when this has all ended." If they made it out alive. With a respectful bow, Mmur turned and hurried into the tower. --- Space 1 (Event 1) -> Space 2 (forward 2 spaces) -> Space 4 (Event 6)He didn't get two steps inside before the voices began. Sussara. She was saying the most awful things. Mmur paused to listen, but he didn't stay for long. That wasn't his sister. It couldn't be. He hurried along the corridor, his hand against the wall to guide him. The voices quickly dropped away and stayed silent for so long that Mmur thought he might have imagined them. They returned slowly, and though he assumed they would eventually sound like Sussara once more, they remained garbled and harsh. "Sus! Nkosazana!" The noise grew so loud he couldn't think. Quote: EVENT 1: You hear a voice and it sounds exactly like a close relative of yours. They begin to continuously mock you for a failure you have encountered in your life. You have no idea where you're going, don't you? Akila certainly wasn't very amused that she was being used as a walking stick yet again, but there was a begrudging tone to her voice. It wasn't as though they could do anything else in this situation. Kylee was definitely not a 'whack the walls with a weapon and hope it would tear the barriers down' sort of girl.
"There are walls everywhere!" She hissed softly. Kylee had actually gotten the hang of talking to her weapon mentally, but for some reason, she felt the need to speak out loud. Maybe someone else would hear her. Maybe someone friendly.
Or maybe someone not.

Kylee Chang was not someone that feared the dark. Of course to say that she was entirely fearless would be a lie. She had grown up being a night owl; waiting impatiently for her parents to come home and dozing asleep on the couch, to college days where she could stay up all night to study. Wandering the halls at night had become second nature to her.
She was not scared of the dark. She was scared of what kind of threat the horsemen posed. She had never been in a real fight before, to exchange blows with another even with a huge spear in her hands.
I'll be here. Akila said soothingly.

Stumbling in the dark was never fun, every hall looked the same and no matter how she tried to mark her way it never worked, clawing at the walls dropping a silver seed or a shred of paper on the ground.
Moving forward Sammy felt she was finally making progress to getting out of the maze. The familiar voices and garbled speech had faded away behind her, but something else ahead was starting to whisper to her now.
"Sammy,"
There was a pause midstep, Sammy turned around, "Siddie? Siddie what are you doing here I thought you where staying to watch the Mini's you mentioned something about family too."
"No. I just didn't want to have to deal with you trying to save all your stupid friends. I didn't want you fussing over me all the time it's so Jacking-Annoying." There was a huff, "You're pathetic, you always have to act like some hero trying to save me like some dainty little princess." There was an audible gag. "That's why you're such a screw up, you only keep friends you think you can save with some stupid hero complex, you're no hero, you're a traitor like when you ------ Red."
Sammy flinched, "S-stop don't talk about that I don't remember I don't want to remember..." Somewhere the voice of Siddie scoffed, "See? Pathetic. You're pathetic don't even bother coming back for me, I'll be gone before you even get here. Enjoy you empty room and trying to save the world, it's not like anyone will actually care about you, we're all going to graduate and leave you behind because your dumb as a minipet rock."
Sammy was about two steps away from breaking down in tears, "Siddie stop it, that's not true stop saying that you know I love you don't do this!"

Sammy couldn't stand another minute of Siddie, it was one thing to have something hunt her, it was another thing to have Red yell at her, it was something entirely different to have Siddie being the one judging her.
For a while the silence was welcomed, the stumbling scratching and thumping into things was far more enjoyable and tolerable to the touch-numbed corpse then the emotional knives of friends and loved ones attacking her.
"So that's it? We run away from what we're scared of now?" It was if three voices, all her's chimed in at once. "God I remember you in the blue kingdom, they where right. You're a whiney b***h who picks fights with everyone but now suddenly your just one giant push over."
"I can't even remember you, while I was chasing the Goddesses and claiming our memories you where just lost and confused, when we had to give up our memories to save everyone you where greedy, selfish. Pathetic. No wonder Siddie said those things, you couldn't give up her memories even if it meant saving her life."
The final voice was the most common it was her own, the real her, not one of the altered memories, or time lines. "You're sad. Utterly pathetic, you let voices cripple you, you're letting us do it right now. We can see you, we know where you are, who you are, we're you and we're all disgusted at what you've become. You don't represent us, you're just a broken empty husk afraid to face her own memories like a dog with a tail between it's legs."
The voices paused as Sammy swung at empty air smashing her fist against a wall.
"You're nothing but a temper. A hot headed fool who's going to die alone in a dark hallway like a maggot."
the howl of rage wasn't an illusion, it was Sammy cursing at herself and the voices attacking her.

There was someone there.
Kylee froze, hands nervously tightening around her weapon. She could hear the whisper of someone's voice, and they were about to ambush her--
Wait. It sounded familiar.
Her grip relaxed slightly, as Kylee turned around, squinting at the darkness that spread out before her. Everything looked the same; she couldn't discern any moving objects or entities. "Who's there?" She called out softly.
"Kylee." It whispered. Masculine.
"Lex?" She ventured softly.
"You're a fool." He said sadly. It sounded as though he was right besides her, but she fumbled around in the dark with her hands, and there was no one in close proximity to her. "I help you cut your hair and we're friends. Is it really so simple to get past you, Kylee?"
"I don't understand." She whispered, clapping her hands over her ears. Don't listen. No.
