Being the only Merkora that he was aware of that traveled in Eowyn he knew well where the lay out of the various oasis were located. They were rather important to him after all, he needed them to be able to soak in, to refresh himself over long treks across the burning sands. He spent half his time in the ocean with his mother's clan and half his time on land with his teacher Eyphah and his clan. Currently though, despite being on land, he wasn't on his way back to where Eyphah's clan was located. Instead he was on his way to finding a Khehorian woman named Anodyne. He was told by his mother that she was the one that he needed to bring his collection of dragon orbs to so that he could finally become Merkorian. It was a dream of his for some time and after seeing Eyphah's two-leg form it only made him that much more eager to become as he was.

So for the moment he had all of his orbs gathered up in a big basket woven of sea kelp, bringing them on his journey across the sands to where she would be waiting for him. It was an exhausting trek but he felt that it would be more then worth it the very moment that he was able to ascend into something more. That would need to wait though, he was in need of water and rest he thought to himself.

The moment said water came into view he gave a happy sound in his throat much like a purr, quickening his pace so that he could to trotting into the water. He sank his kelp basket in it, keeping it safe from prying eyes, before he then sank himself as well up to his eyes in the water. It was so nice and cool, fed by an underground spring, and exactly what he needed at the moment to get himself back on his feet. Once he was done here he would be back to searching out Anodyne, for now though he was happy right where he was. No rush after all, not as though Anodyne were going anywhere, right?

Nehelini ran ahead of his two elders, his bright lavender eyes focused on the crystal clear waters ahead of him. Jaxirus sighed heavily as Baruin chuckled hearing his youngest siblings glee. The trio had happen upon the oasis by pure chance. Jaxirus muttering something about them being a few days ahead of what he expected. Baruin reached up to idly pull at the blindfold across his eyes. Nehelini slipped once while running to the water's edge.

"Uncle Jaxirus...Baruin...the water's so clear..."
Nehelini said in awe.

Jaxirus called out to the child, "Yes, but you don't know what could be in it, Nehelini!"

Baruin called out joking, "Like those water monsters Tylerain said lived down here~"

Jaxirus looked at the other male muttering, "Seriously..."

Tallulah, who had been happily just soaking in the cool water, opened his eyes up when he heard approaching footsteps and voices. He lifted his head a touch, letting his nostrils peek out from above the water, sniffing at the air. Smelled interesting, much like two-legs did. He thought on it a moment before he found himself wondering if he should chat them up? He hadn't really had much in the way of interaction with them, seeing them as something to be avoided for the most part, especially after a crazy one attacked his teacher. The one in front of him didn't really appear as being all that dangerous though. Just look at him, he was so tiny! It was cute really, something that made Tallulah chuckle a little bit.

It was as he studied the new arrival that he noticed something even more interesting, he had horns. Which of the races of two-legs had those again? He knew that he knew the name... damn but being raised in the ocean left his knowledge a touch lacking, didn't it? At least when it came to the various things that lived on the surface world at least. Eyphah did his best to fill him in but he was more interested in teaching him all about battle, not about the more useful things. Heck, the only reason he knew a lot about Orderites was because Eyphah found them to be the most tasty. Let's see... Orderites were the birds, Oblivionites were the eyeless ones, and the horned ones were... ah! Dovaa!

Lifting his head a bit more, so that it was out of the water, he asked of the boy that was standing there, "Hello, there! Are you Dovaa?" Best that he checked so as not to get in trouble for assuming something that might not be true. Best to cover all of his bases so as not to sound as though he didn't know what he was talking about even if it were true in some cases.

The child paid his elders no mind as he leaned closer to the water. He spied something moving beneath it and when the merkin rose their head. It took a comical two minutes for the child to process two things: A- Something just rose out of the water... and B- that something just talked! Nehelini squeaked as he stumbled back in pure fear, but he was raised with manners so he did reply to the creature...

"Y-y-yes...I-I-I a-a-am a D-D-Dovaa...." he stuttered out then in a meeker voice, "What are you?"

Jaxirus walked forward, "Manners Nehelini! They are a Merkin...I've only heard stories of them however."

Baruin jolted, holy crap there was actually something in there. Whoops. Looks like he just added onto the list of things Nehelini was scared of. Nehelini looked back to the creature and gulped. He knew what...now..."P-pardon my rudeness. Who are you?"

Tallulah looked between the pair as they exchanged words, finding the two-legs to be interesting enough. It also helped that they didn't exactly seem out right threatening. He should probably tell Eyphah about this when he saw him next. He was certain that his teacher would be interested to hear that there were some two-legs out there that didn't try to kill their kind on sight. It would likely be a nice change of pace for Eyphah for sure.

"Merkora is what our kind are referred to as, though when it comes to who I am my name is Tallulah, I am of the Peisio clan." He introduced himself, lifted his head a bit more out of the water so he could nod politely to the two-legs before him, then gave them the best smile he could given the limitations of his form. He could only hope it appeared to them like a smile and not as though he were baring his teeth. He really did look forward to when he was able to obtain his two-legged form. He would be able to deal with people like this so much easier he felt.

Tail swishing under the water he said, "If I may, can I ask your names?" He should probably be polite with them, figure out their names, call them as such. Instead of the sorts of nicknames that Eyphah would be sure to give them, probably something along the line of 'snack' or 'tasty ones' or something similar if he knew his teacher.

Jaxirus blinked then semi-bowed, "Forgive my mistake. I am Jaxirus Pardoiam of the Asikala Clan These two are my nephews..."

Baruin took a step forward and inclined his head, "Baruin Pardoiam of the Gaili Clan."

Nehelini stood shakily before giving Tallulah a small bow, "Nehelini Pardoiam." Nehelini looked at the other being as Tallulah attempted a smile. It was...pretty amusing the child admitted inwardly. He smiled in return.

Baruin turned his head toward his Uncle, "Is Nehelini all right?"

"He's fine, he seems to be quite curious about the Merkora."
the elder replied.

The child took a small step towards the water, "Tallulah...are you a boy or a girl?" his elders slowly lowered their heads into a hand.

Tallulah looked between each member of the group as they introduced themselves, filing the names away in case he needed them at a later date. A trio of Dovaa, two who were already a part of a clan, and a third that seemed as though he wasn't a part of one yet. It was pretty interesting for sure, it made him curious about how they went about picking a clan and becoming a part of it, especially since Tallulah himself was born into his clan. It was something that he was curious about but after a moment of thought decided not to ask about. It might very well be a secret just as the ritual he was going to go through was a secret, he didn't want to put the Dovaa on the spot or make them feel uncomfortable he decided.

The question posed to him a moment later had his eyes going a little wide before he started to laugh, "I am male." He said once he was able to get his laughter under control. Now there was a question he'd never been asked before but then again given he only traveled aroudn with other Khehora and Merkora. It wasn't as though they had to ask him what he was, scent alone told them but it seemed the Dovaa weren't equipped with such a skill. Poor thing, unable to tell easily, but no matter, no skin off his back he supposed.

"May I ask a question in exchange then? What brings your group to Eowyn?" It was a rather dry and inhospitible place, he wondered why they were here instead of a nicer place like Serenia... though he supposed that place was teeming with birds, wasn't it? They might not be as kind to the Dovaa as they were their own kind. Maybe that was part of why they were here? Or hunting, perhaps? Though they didn't quite seem as though they were ready for hunting the dragons of Eowyn save for maybe the one named Jaxirus, he seemed like he could hold his own. Why they were here was quite the mystery in Tallulah's eyes.

Nehelini had straightened to sit crossed legged looking at the male before him. Tallulah hadn't made him bleed yet...he certainly didn't look like the others who hurt his elder brother and him. He tilted his head in wonderment at the male, "Tallulah. Are you always in the water?"

Baruin kept at his Uncle's side, "Our reason shouldn't matter---"

Jaxirus cut in, "Travel. My partner is in the main city not too far from here. We're traveling to meet up with him."

Tallulah shook his head, "Not all the time but I need to be a portion of the time since I am originally from the ocean. Traveling on land can be a problem at times but I have figured out the location of the various water sources across Eowyn to make moving about in this place easier. It would be nice if my teacher and his clan lived in a more hospitible place." He said, looking around for a moment at dune after dune of sparkling, golden sand. Not a nice place but at least it was pretty if one liked glitter.

Turning his head away from Nehelini he glanced first at Baruin, who seemed as though he didn't want to share... which made Tallulah momentarily leery, before the bigger Dovaa said that it was travel. His 'partner' was in the main city not too far from here, a good thing to note, best he moved on sooner then later in case any two-legged thieves happened by. So they were just traveling to meet with someone, "Ohhh, I see." He couldn't help but to wonder why the one called Baruin didn't want him to know that but no matter, maybe he was shy?

Giving a smile the Merkora said, "I am traveling to meet with someone as well." He said, so they were both doing the same sort of thing! How fun he thought to himself tail swishing, "I hope that both of our travels go smoothly then."

"That's interesting."
, Nehelini scooted closer to the water's edge, trying to peer in to see the rest of Tallulah. He didn't seen much of anything but he would try nonetheless.

Jaxirus wasn't paying any attention to the younger of the two nephews as he was scanning the edges of the Oasis for any danger. Baruin on the other hand chose to reply to the merkora, "Thank you...and to you as well. Tallulah."

Nehelini had apparantly leaned over too far as the child took a tumble...it was a sharp cry which alerted both elders followed by a splash.

Tallulah turned away from the pleasent conversation he was having with the others when he heard the splash, looking down at the rippling water, before he went under. Hm, what in the world was the little Dovaa whelp doing? He looked around a moment before he spotted him there, watching him for a moment. Was he trying to swim? Could he swim? The oasis wasn't very deep as far as one like Tallulah was concerned but for a smaller whelp it was likely considered deep. Should he help him? Was his diving in an accident or was it on purpose so that he could cool off?

After a moment of debate he decided that he would erre on the side of caution before he moved closer, reaching out to catch hold of Nehelini in his jaws by the clothing he wore, and lifted him up out of the water. Once he had him dangling over the oasis he said in a muffled manner around what he was holding in his mouth, "My apologies if you meant to dive in?" He didn't want to insult Nehelini but he felt that since he was just a little one, not much older then a orakoi he'd imagine, that it was best to fish him out of the water just in case.

If it turned out that the little Dovaa just wanted to swim then by all means he'd let him go once more. Turning to give the other two a glance he waited there, Nehelini hanging from his jaws, ever patient, wondering what it was that he should do with this one. Drop him back in to swim or put him back on the edge of the water where he started out... it was up to them he supposed.

Nehelini didn't move, every instinct telling him to scream, but a remembered fear locking his throat. Instead the poor child twisted to land a weak hit on the snout. Shivering from head to toe. Jaxiurs was at the shoreline, "Nehelini...its all right. Tallulah is helping you." the male looked up to the merkora, "Tallulah, I'm sorry. My nephews were attacked when they first came here. Nehelini isn't over the fear of the attackers."

Baruin didn't move, he heard his uncles words and trusted the male to help Nehelini. The child was still shaking but didn't move further.

Tallulah tilted his head as though trying to get a look at the one that was suddenly flailing about and trying... punch him? That was curious, what exactly was he trying to do? Was he so upset over being take out of the water he found himself wondering. Luckily for the confused Merkora the biggest among the Dovaa was kind enough to fill him in on what was doing on after reassuring Nehelini that it was alright, that 'Tallulah was helping' which caused him to carefully lower the boy to the ground before using his powers to gather the water clinging to him into a spinning globe. He wasn't made completely dry by the process but hopefully it would help?

Once he was done with that he dared to look over at the other two, a thoughtful look on his face, before he asked, "The one that attacked you... it wasn't a black and red Khehora with a broken off horn was it?" Eyphah rarely attacked whelps though, unless the father did something to rile him up surely it wasn't his teacher, right? It must have been another... but he couldn't help but to wonder. Better that he made sure that Eyphah wasn't feeling the desire for whelps in his stew. If he were Tallulah might very well have to scold him to tell him to stay away from those of such an age! It would probably take every last ounce of his courage to do so of course, not like the Diabi wasn't wholey intimidating or anything.

Jaxirus shook his head, "Not to my knowledge...by the time I arrived to their aid. I believe Baruin had actually gotten most of them to flee."

Baruin huffed as he crossed his arms, a hand rising to check on his blindfold. Feeling that it was still there the male spoke, "Their leader wasn't among the main attackers. I kept hearing him from the distance tho...he was adamant that they capture Nehelini. For what purpose I shudder at the thought."

Nehelini sniffled once before scooting back away from the water bound male. He squeaked out a soft, "Thank you." before silence overtook him. Baruin took slow measured steps, focusing all attention on the sounds. He stopped as he scented his younger brother then slowly lowered to his knees. Once there he reached out to drum his fingers along Nehelini's body till he managed to encircle the child in his arms. Nehelini closed his eyes as he shifted to curl into his brother's chest. Baruin hummed low, a known comfort for the child.

Jaxirus looked up at Tallulah, "They don't say much beyond that, I'm afraid. I can tell you I saw no Khehora matching your words, Tallulah. Thank you for saving Nehelini...he has no skills with swimming." the male crossed his arms as he sighed.

"That is good to hear." He said, giving a little swish of his taile, "He tends to feel that whelps are off limits, they aren't warriors yet after all and should be protected and not hunted. At least he's seemed to mellow out a little of late." At least to a degree, not as though he were an old man or anything quite yet. After all Tallulah would rather no consider that after attaining such power that he would instantly be old. Turning to look over at Baruin he tilted his head to one side, looking throughful.

So the one that had attacked the children had been led by someone, huh? Then he was certainly not Eyphah who ran either solo or with Tallulah most of the time. A good thing for certain, "If you ever do run across him I doubt that he will give you too much of a hassle at your age." He reassured the boys, now the adult one, were he to run across Eyphah alone, he couldn't say what the Diabi might do. Especially given his distaste for two-legs after being attacked by one of them. So long as Jaxirus was with the whelps though it should be alright.

Lifting his forefoot up he carefully patted Nehelini on the head, "Once I am done with the important task I am on I could always show you how to swim, it's quite fun actually! I'd say be cautious doing so in the ocean though, there are a lot of things there that like to bite." He warned to boys, not wanting to see them get picked on by anyone else out there since they seemed to have had such a hard time already.
