Yrre Gladwyn

Race: Dovaa
Gender: Male
Clan: Not chosen Ayrala
Class: Civ (Craftsmanship, with a focus on being a baker, but with the idea that he may change, notes included in spoiler)'

"About Yrre still being a civilian, I do have the intention of switching him if there is enough reason to. Certainly, he longs for the freedom that being a fighter would entail, but for what reason other than that does he haveto fight? The war is a hateful thing, in his mind, since it forces to chose sides, and that it was the reason why his brother hates him, atleast thinks so, so there's no reason to leave just yet.

If he wanted to be just an adventurer, he has no way to accomplish this at the moment. He's poor, and sells sweets on the corner when he can. He can dream of the day of being able to afford even the most basic of adventuring supplies, but for now he lives day by day.

Once he becomes older, and he has more money, then he might abandoned this life as a baker (which is his civillian job as of now).

Okay, honestly, that's what I'm intending, to have a shift at some point. But right now, as he's developing, there's no triggers to cause that change. I was hoping it would possibly happen through interactions and RPs in the shop, rather than me saying "Oh, he's going to change... NOW.""

Personality:

Brash: After being brought up essentially ignored, Yrre has decided that that is no way to live! He makes sure to let everyone know that he has arrived, that HE is now there and should not be ignored. He does not take well to being brushed off, and will respond negatively in most situations where he feels like his opinion is not being considered. The neighbors would easily say that he is the loudest and most irritating little brat they have ever met.

Hot headed: It takes very little to set Yrre off to a point where he will yell at a person. You could be chewing to loudly, or staring just a little too long, or even just walking too slowly in front of him. He has very little patience for most scenarios, and is likely to be the first one to complain about his situation, no matter how minor it may be.

Overly Casual: Are you his elder? He doesn't give a damn! There is no one higher up than him, and no one below him either. The formalities can honestly go jump down a well because you aren't likely to get them from this kid. This has caused him to very often be thrown out of establishments, or be carried home by authorities because of his disrespect towards his elders.

Devoted: It is not often that Yrre finds someone he trusts and actually likes. Once such an individual has been recognized, he has unwavering faith in the person, and will do everything in his power to ensure that said individual is ever wronged by him. No matter what they do, or how life turns out between them, Yrre will attempt to find a way to reason out their actions, and to take their side in most situations.

Fair-Minded: Everyone comes from different places. Some are born in a shack on the side of the road, others are born into palaces. To Yrre, there is no such thing as someone being better than others on a whole. Yes, one may be better at one thing than someone else, but does that qualify them as any less of a being? Not in Yrre's eyes. It is simply cruel to judge a person from their outwards appearance, or their status in life, what matters is what's inside, not on the outside, no matter what race you are (unless you're old, then you can go to hell.)

Sincere: There's no faking anything when it comes to Yrre. Nearly every emotion that he displays, or action he takes has a purpose, and there's no hiding his intentions either. His heart is on his sleeve and every emotion is shown in it's purest form from him. This is not to say he won't lie about something, but if he does, there is a very obvious tell if not by the sheer discomfort shown on his demeanor.

Biography

Before Yrre was born, there was a cozy little family of bakers that lived in Astral City. It was not a big bakery, but it made enough to get by, and the family was happy. Father, mother, and son all lived happily together, running the front and enjoying a modest life in the middle class area of the city.

Yrre was an unplanned child, and a burden on the family. What was once enough to support them, became less and less of an amount to provide for the family throughout the pregnancy, as his presence caused Mildryth, the mother, to become frail and bedridden. Unable to support the family with the meager income of the bakery, the father, Baecere, left his pregnant wife and son to join the war efforts, with promise of a stable income enough pushing him towards such a decision. Through faith that her husband was doing his best for the family, Mildryth resumed her duties, and with the help of her 13 year old son, Bae, the bakery continued on even after she gave birth do Yrre a few months later.

Yrre was never treated the same as Bae; it was very obvious that his mother held disdain for the child. Having ruined her 'perfect life', she viewed him as an unwelcomed visitor in her home and did her duty to feed him and ensure he lived, but nothing further. Bae, on the other hand, nurtured and loved his little brother, believing that there was no reason to hate something so small and squishy. They became near inseparable, with Bae gradually teaching the young child the basics of baking, decorating, and general life skills.

After four years of nonstop letters between the lovers, all went quiet. A month had passed before the final news of the fate of Baecere reached home, though it came as a surprise to no one. Mildryth, unable to cope with her loss, loss her faith in everything around her, and passed hardly a year later. Bae became bitter towards his little brother, finally understanding why their mother held so much hatred towards the kid. Their close relationship crumbled, and no matter how hard Yrre tried, he could not connect with his big brother any more.

Forced to take on the role of guardian, Bae threw himself into the work of the bakery, forsaking any attempts to care or nurture his brother as he once did. They struggled to make ends meet, growing up in conditions unfit for anyone to live in at times, but they preservered, even if there seemed to be no hope at times.

Yrre, growing in such an environment, began to act out, causing trouble wherever he could for atleast some attention from his remaining family. The neglect spawned more bitterness in his young heart, and he does his best not to return home until nightfall each evening, using the skills he learned from his own brother to sell goods he bakes in secret.

Thoughts on the Great Engagement:

Why the hell should he have to fight in a war that he did not want? One that he did not wish to engage in the very first place? It is simply foolish to want to continue to throw your life away for something you don't believe!

And yet.. Something is thrilling about the prospects of fighting, of becoming truly strong.

Thoughts on the Magescian Races:

Oblivionites and Orderites: Honestly, he despises anyone from either race that's old enough to be what his mother and father would be. That means they could have been in the war at the same time, and be part of the cause for their deaths.

BUT the younger ones.. The idea of Orderites tinkering away and their cool gadgets are pretty awesome. The Oblivionites, though intimidating looking seem like such a sad race over all. What are you supposed to do with no soul? Can you still feel?

Dovaa: His feelings are neutral, people are generally varied, so who is he to quickly judge his own kin?

Hybrids: You love who you love, right? What does it matter who your parents are! They don't carry the same hate that he does for the Orderites and Oblivionites, since you can't pick your parents. At the same time, that could go for anyone, right?

Thoughts on the Dragons and Khehora:

Dragons: As it's stated, the Dragons are just protecting what was theirs to begin with. At the same time, they are not considering that the world evolves and that there is a new reason to share. It was not as if the beings of this world chose to come here, after all. As much as he understands this, Yrre won't hesitate to obtain more power for himself, but if a Dragon were to reach out to him on peaceful terms, well, everyone deserves a chance.

Khehora: He does not quite understand them, but why not? Let them come as they please and if they get along, fantastic, if not.. Well then.

Yrre is a young, angry little dova who spends his time between selling sweets on the street during the day, and baking in secret at night. He has few friends, and fewer reasons to keep a smile on his face. Every now and again he finds something to chuckle at.

Relationships

Family
Baecere Gladwyn Sr.: The Patron of the family. He sincerely loved everyone in his small family, and was more than willing to go war for his family. He perishes on the battlefield when Yrre was Four.

Mildryth Gladwyn: A once calm, sweet woman who was mother to Yrre and Bae, and wive to Baecere. After Baecere went to war, she gave birth to Yrre, and hated the child for forcing her husband away. Upon receiving the news of his passing, she gave up any will she had to continue living and passed away when Yrre was Five.

Baecere Gladwyn Jr. (Bae): The older brother of Yrre by 13 years. He currently watches over his younger bother due to familial bonds. If he were anyone else, he would not care further for the brat.

Quests Met

Erahn - Infant Dovah :: DISLIKE :: A Spoiled, SPOILED little tyke who obviously was in control of his grandmother. Yrre won't complain too much though, after all, she bought all of his pastries that day.

Magescians Met

User Image Karayan - Expert Dovah :: LIKE - BEST FRIEND :: A happy, sweet older Dovah who was the first person who had been kind to Yrre in a long time. Yrre's come to depend on him for everything, whether it's to buy something or just company. It could be easily said that the man is his best friend, even if Yrre would never say it out loud.

User Image Minerva - Adept Obliv/Dovah :: DISLIKE :: A hybrid girl he met during the Mara Raid. He disliked her for her attitude, not for what race she was. Quite Honeslty, he couldn't have cared less what her background was, she just seemed spoiled and a smart a** and he honestly would have liked it better if she had been on her own. Of course, Karayan had to be nice and help her find her mom. Stupid girl should have been able to find her on her own!
