MARKS BANNER HERE

------

What are Marks?

Marks are a family crest; a scar, an object, an honored word, or perhaps just an understanding that you are accepted into a Mark. Females of a good rank or breeding might make a Mark for themselves and invite favored bucks (or does, as the case may be!) into her Mark. To learn more about Marks, Click Here.

Who can make a Mark?

Any doe can, really. Though if she isn't very pretty, cunning, or powerful it might be that she's the only one in her Mark! Or it could be that she creates a Mark just to surround herself with willing rabbits of a like-mind. Or perhaps simply so she can Mark her one and only mate to try and ward away other does. Some does may choose to stay in their mother's Mark, such as the Rah's daughters. Bucks, on the other hand, are turned out of their mother's Mark upon becoming Outskirters, and must prove themselves to the warren or to a doe in particular to earn themselves a mate.

What can I pick as a Mark?

A Mark can truly be anything a rabbit could obtain. A doe might decide that a blue, banded feather of a Eurasian Jay will be her Mark. And so she would find as many as she could, and line her run in the warren with them. She could then offer one to the bucks or does of her choice and offer them to join her Mark. Another doe might decide that a scar on her shoulder will be her banner, and make that her Mark. Those that she would offer to join her Mark would be wounded in the same place to create the same scar on themselves.

Wait, but any rabbit could get a scar or a feather...

You're right! Anyone could very well find a feather and claim that the doe of the Mark gave it to them herself. Or any rabbit could be wounded in the same place by chance! That could cause a great bit of confusion, and could make for some very fun and dramatic rp. How that is handled is up to the rpers, it could be the lying rabbit with the feather is found out by the doe of the Mark, and her whole Mark turns on him and tears him to shreds. He could run off and become a hlessi, or forever be shamed in the warren.

Or, with the rabbit that received his scar quite by chance, the doe of the Mark could take a shining to him and see it as the will of Frith and accept him into her Mark proper. Or he could create another scar overlapping the first to change its appearance to avoid confusion, or simply leave it be and leave everyone guessing.

How can I create a new Mark for my doe?

There's two ways to go about this, either through RP or through earning the Mark with Flayrah.

With RP, your doe could prove herself in Raids, Races, or other shop-held events and be offered a Mark as a reward. Or, if a doe is rp'd quite a bit and obviously curries favor with other members of her warren, the owner might be tapped by staff and told she can make a Mark for herself.

Keep in mind, though, your Mark is only as note-worthy as your doe! If you have a powerful Owsla doe, you can bet you'll have a lot more rabbits vying for her attention and her Mark!

What else can a Mark do?

Marks with many rabbits, or of high prestige, might earn stat benefits in time. Or, being part of a specific Mark could grant a higher fertility or open up events only available to members of the Mark! These special grants are picked by the Staff, and completely depends on their judgement. Be sure though, that the people that hang out in the shop more, participate in more events, and rp are the ones that will likely be rewarded!

The other way is by exchanging Flayrah points for the privilege of creating a Mark. For more on that, Click Here.

How do I add another rabbit to my Mark?

Once your doe has a Mark, she can add rabbits to it. You may wish to do this in character through rp, but it is not required. If there is an edit to be done in the form of a scar or adding an object to the rabbit's image, the owner will have to post a form and pay 1 Flayrah for the addition of the edit or object. They can find the form to do that Here. Then, once the rabbit's updated uncert is dropped, they'll have to request a recert Here.

If adding a rabbit to your Mark does not require an edit or object, simply a recert is required and the owner of the rabbit joining the Mark can simply request a recert with the updated information.

The only exception to payment is if the rabbit earns their way into the Mark by event.

How many rabbits can I add to my Mark?

As many as your doe can convince to join you!

Can I kick a rabbit out of my Mark?

Yes, but there are a few factors to consider!
If the Mark is a scar, the rabbit will still have the scar, it doesn't magically go away. If the Mark was an object, you can request that they remove the object, but since they paid for it they are not obligated to.

Basically, if the owner of the rabbit that's going to be outed from the Mark had to pay a Flayrah for the honor of being in the Mark, you cannot force them out against their will. If both owners agree that the rabbit will be removed from the Mark, then yes, the rabbit will be outed, but will keep their scar if they have one, and be given the option to keep their object if they wish to. They could, however, transfer the object to another rabbit that will join the Mark instead, at no extra cost.

But, if the Mark does not take an edit of any sort and the owner did not have to pay for the honor of joining the Mark, the doe of the Mark can simply out that rabbit at any time as they see fit, since the owner of the rabbit being outed will not lose out on any expenditures.
