 Smooth Swing was so excited! He could hardly wait to show his siblings the baseball diamond he'd drawn out in a sandlot close to home. He'd made baseball plates out of some white pieces of cardboard and used them to mark the bases. He had carefully checked from above to make sure all sides were even and counted the paces from each plate to the next. At last it was ready to play on!
Of course the first foal Swing wanted to show it to was Sandlot Bambino. Aside from the obvious connection to his name, Bambino seemed the most inclined to follow in their father's footsteps to take up the sport of baseball. Swing had figured he would appreciate and put the baseball diamond to use the most out of their siblings. That was why he'd told his brother he'd had a surprise for him that morning and asked him to wear a blindfold as he carefully led him out to the sandlot. Sandlot Bambino stumbled about as he was led onto the field by his brother.
"Dude! Smooth Swing! Come on, are we there yet?" The impatient colt asked as his wings fluttered and he stomped his hooves. Bambino was growing very tired of playing the part of a pin ball. He had been bumping into his surroundings since the blindfold was tied around his eyes and enough was enough! Plus, to a little kid it felt like they'd been walking forever!
Frustrated, the colt took a big whiff of their surroundings and hoped it would give a clue on where they might be. But all he could smell was dirt and grass which was not very helpful. Obviously they were outside but other than that they could be anywhere!
But even if he was growing more and more impatient, Bambino wouldn't just tear off the blindfold. He was in it for the long haul. Smooth Swing wanted him to do this so he would. But of course, that meant Smooth Swing was stuck listening to his brother's grumbles until he saw the light of day. Kitomyx Nope~! It's perfect! 8D <3

The white pegasus laughed. "Almost, almost! Just a few more steps to your left...perfect. Sorry, it would have been faster to fly here, but it would've been harder to give you directions!"
Going over to Bambino, Swing tugged free the piece of cloth that had been blindfolding his brother. "Here we are. What do you think?" He smiled a little sheepishly at his work. "I thought it'd be better to show you first because you'd probably be able to tell me if I need to fix anything before we show the others. Plus I figured you'd probably appreciate it the most."Ac.Wings ((SOOO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG! crying Got pretty busy this summer!))

Bambino followed along with big exaggerated steps and froze when he parked himself in the right spot. "Could of just held onto a hoof or something...probably wouldn't of crashed into so many things. But it's cool, it's cool. All part of the adventure I guess."
Sandlot Bambino squinted as the blindfold was suddenly pulled away and he could see again! Boy the light burned! Had it been that long or did his vision just stink?
When the land before him no longer looked like blurry shadows and he blinked away the pain, Bambino was left with the sight of a beautiful baseball field. To others it may have looked like some scrappy throw-together but Bambino was absolutely in awe.
One moment he was standing beside Swing and the next he was zooming about the field checking everything out. "Whoa! Dude! You made this? Aw man! Look at this! Hahaha! So that's what you needed the cardboard for? The diamond! Holy cow!"
And then in the next instant he was tackling his brother in a tight hug. "Smooth Swing! This is the best thing I have ever seen. Dude, you rock!" The colt pulled back to stare at his brother with eyes a glitter and a huuuuuge grin on his face.
"I-I'm so proud...t-think I'm gonna cry..." The little guy said with added dramatics as he sniffled and whibbled his lower lip.

"Even holding your hoof, I think flying blindfolded might be a taaad more dangerous than walking blindfolded," Swing remarked with a chuckle, "but I guess if we flew up high enough, there wouldn't have been as many things to crash into. I'll keep that in mind for next time."
As the light hit Bambino's twinkling eyes, his brother waited for him to adjust to the bright sun. Not long after, the yellow colt's eyes were twinkling for a whole different reason. If Swing had any doubts or worries before, Bambino's enthusiasm swept them clean away.
"Yeah. It was kind of hard to keep it a secret with a home full of phonies, especially baseball enthusiasts. I kept worrying you guys had started to figure out what I was up to," the white colt explained, scratching the back of his mane with a hoof. "Sorry it doesn't look all that professional, but I think I measured everything out well enough. Do you think it - AHH!" He was tackled to the ground before he even knew what hit him.
Taking a few moments to recover from the tackle, Swing laughed and hugged Bambino tightly back. "Really? I'm so glad you like it! I really wanted to make sure you and the others had a good place to practice."
With an amused snort at his brother's dramatic antics, he walked over to a saddle bag he had set down and retrieved a baseball. "Better hurry and have your cry, then, or I'm going to start playing without you." He tossed the ball up into the air and caught it again with a meaningful smirk.
