Midmorning on the Isle de Gambino. A fairly steady stream of Gaians of all types passed between the Isle's main port and the Marketplace at the center of the Isle, coming or going from shopping - or vending - errands. Between the two places, there were plenty of sights to draw the eye, but one locale in particular could be especially eye-catching...especially on a day like today.
A blue and purple streak suddenly dropped from a streetside palm tree among the commuters, revealing itself to be the manager of the nearby Gaia Cash shop La Victoire, Jet the Kitten Star...wearing a sky-blue wig, overflowing with curls, that was clearly sized for a humanoid rather than for himself.
"Behold my majesty, humble Gaians! As was predicted in the Ancient Times a couple hours ago, I have now become even more awesome than I already was! How, you might ask? And more importantly, how can you, too, fulfill ancient prophecies of gaining awesomeness as I have!?"
"Those are Aquamarine Porridge Locks, aren't they?" A middle-aged male mostly-human with slightly feathered hair and a lizard tail cut in, squinting at the feisty feline.
Jet, having been about to announce the name of his latest Gold/Item Generator, paused to acknowledge this. "Ah, a man who knows his Gaian rarities! Yes indeed; this fine piece of apparel, once the sole purview of musty and secretive alchemists, is now available to one and all - if you're lucky, of course! And you, sir, strike me as the lucky type."
"I, sir, am one of those musty and secretive alchemists," the man replied crossly, as he retrieved a small notebook from a pocket. "If I want one of those I'll darn well make one." He stalked off angrily toward the dock, jotting notes as he went.
"Huh. Spoilsport." Jet shrugged, then turned to accost a female Angel Imp wearing the Shadowlegend's Ninjette Top. "Hey, there, how'd you like to rock hair as amazing as this?"

The door flew open at the Barton Alchemist's Guild. Mossback, a local green orc, looked up from adjusting a burner to see the man with feathered hair and lizard tail enter. "Brent, hi!" He boomed. "How was the Market today?"
"He's at it again," Brent replied as he headed for a bulletin board near the staircase.
Mossback sighed and rolled his eyes. There was only one "He" who was ever "at it again" according to Brent Huguenin. "What's the latest damage, then?"
"It's called 'Cutie Catcher'," Brent answered, writing a few notes on one of the postings. "It's got Erebus again, at least one each of the Porridge Locks, Lunarian Baos, and Short Keidos - two of those - and he's finally gotten around to puttin' Devil's Wings out." He finished updating the list. "I'll be stoppin' by Barton Bar again tonight to see if they've found any more wigs."
"Well, at least my prized Mannfrey's still safe," Mossback commented for the sake of commenting. He didn't really care that much about the issue, but he knew Brent wasn't alone in taking personal offense every time an Alchemy-exclusive item stopped being so exclusive. There'd surely be a small crowd at that bulletin board later.

I don't think the CS release of formerly Alchemy-exclusive items is all that bad. It does ruin the profit margins for a while, but that depends a lot on the RIG and chance of getting that item. There's always a chance of the price bouncing up again given enough time.
Personally, I'm okay with the CS release as long as it's in limited quanity. I'm actually happy that Erebus' Moon is taking a nosedive in the MP. I wanted to make another for keeps, but people keep inflating the formula price. Can't say that I'm sorry to see them take a hit.
I think Faust's Bottle is gonna get dropped next. Reasoning is that Erebus' Moon became wildly popular and profitable when Mercury's Moon crashed in price. Faustine's Bottle recently crashed, which made Faust's Bottle very cheap to make.
EDIT: Oh, the backwings. The CS release of wings never bothered me that much. They're always too expensive for the average person to buy. $45 for a pair of large wings in magenta or navy is pretty steep. The more popular colors go for $100 in Club Verge. Not many people have that much disposable income.
