The woods shake, and a strange steam, a smoke emits from the branches. You hear loud cracks as the trees part in the distant and terrified voices. "It's coming! It's coming!" Little odds and ends, little pocket watches with feet and rabbits with pocket watches run away, birds with trumpet beaks hop past you. They all say the same thing.
"It's coming!"
It grows silent and the woods are never silent.
You feel something moving behind you. Something tall, dark, cold and shadowy, sinuous and malevolent. You stop, frozen, you can't help but slowly, slowly turn around. It waits behind you.
MAIN QUEST: TULGEY WOODS DAY 2
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun The frumious Bandersnatch"
- Escape the Jabberwock!
OOC: MAIN QUEST TULGEY WOODS DAY 2
- This quest will be up for 48 hours and is the LAST QUEST for Tulgey Woods. You may do this quest UNTIL then. Side quests will be up for three days and area exploration for this area. Please note that the side quests will also disappear on this day . - If you have to redo this quest more than 3 times just skip to PART 5.
The Jabberwock has spotted you, with its single burning eye. It lunges its long, long neck towards you, twisting through the trees and takes a bite - SNAP! Your pocket card kindly informs you that you only have 10 HP left. Large white teeth reach towards you and you barely avoid a second attack as you do the logical thing - start running.
In the event you decide not to run:
Snap! You instantly KO. You respawn back at the start point again and the Jabberwock begins to chase you again.
exclaim[ THE CHASE PART 1 ] - Roll 1d4to see how much damage you take. If your HP hits 0 GAME OVER. It eats you up right and whole. You are instantly KO'ed and respawn at the start. (Start from scratch with this quest). If you have made it with HP remaining continue onwards.
exclaim[ THE CHASE PART 2 ] You manage to outrun it, and the Jabberwock disappears for a second. There is still the sound of footsteps, thick and heavy, it isn't safe to stop yet, not yet.
Now things start to get strange. Voices start to talk from behind you. They don't sound like the Jabberwock at all, but more like familiar voices, voices from not this game. A friend consoling you. A family member, a beloved one, a mortal enemy. It calls to you in their voice and promises you something and you can't help but feel temptation.
- Roll 1d6 again. If you roll 1 or 6 the temptation is too much and you turn around, just in time to see rows and rows of teeth and an open mouth snap you up. Start at the BEGINNING of the quest again.
exclaim[ THE CHASE PART 3 ] You reach a fork in the road and you have to make a choice. - To the right you see a health potion. This will cure you for 10 HP instantly. - To your left you see a second chance timer. This will save you ONCE from instant death. - You may ONLY use these two items in this Quest encounter. You MUST choose one and ONLY one.
exclaim[ THE CHASE PART 4 ] "And, as in uffish thought he stood, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came whiffling through the tulgey wood, And burbled as it came!"
You are now EVADING the Jabberwock. It moves faster now, snapping at everything around it indiscriminately and blindly. Sometimes it hits trees, sometimes other players, sometimes you. Roll 1d4 TWICE to see the damage you take! Do this in two different posts.
- If at any point you roll a 4 you DIE INSTANTLY. This is however, nullified if you chose the SECOND CHANCE TIMER. This will save you once from instant death. This will not save you again if you roll another 4. You will have to redo the whole quest event (main quest 2) if you die instantly, as you respawn.
-Otherwise you take damage equal to the amount you rolled for! If your HP hits 0, you die instantly. Remember that your HP is 5 if you did not choose the health potion, and 15 if you did!
- If by any chance you have done this main quest more than three times and failed here you can go ahead and skip to the last part.
exclaim[ THE CHASE PART 5 ]
At last you reach out of the forest. Out of the darkest parts of the forest anyway, as the Jabberwock loses interest in you or you are finally out of range of its attacks. The forest shakes but its safe for you again. It's safe for you for another day.
Quest Complete Reward: After escaping the Jabberwocky SUCCESSFULLY your quest is complete! You gain:
+ 2 levels + 1 fragment for your faction (white or red)! Redeem them HERE + 2 loot cards you can redeem HERE + 1 ability card! Keep all ability cards in your BATTLE ENTRY LOG. What ability card you get depends on your job class. Please see below for each card. To use a card simply post it in battle. Read the instructions on the card carefully. Posting an ability card does NOT count as a turn. You can use multiple ability cards in battle. Effects do not stack. Meaning if you have one that has +2 attack and one that has x2 attack you have to choose one or the other on that turn. You can only do this quest and get this ability ONCE per character. You can only get this ability when you FINISH the quest.
Your character may explore any of these other areas of Tulgey Woods. Think of them as SIDE QUEST. They may even get fantastic prizes for doing so! These areas are ENTIRELY OPTIONAL. You can only complete them ONCE per character. - If you obtain any FRAGMENTS in the side quests, please don't forget to post them HERE

Outside of quests you can also PRP and ORP for the sake of interacting with new characters! You can do so either at the TAVERN OR at the GUILD HALL

He made a strangled sort of noise in the back of his throat and turned, stumbling over his own two feet and nearly smacking his face on the ground in his haste to escape the creature crawling towards him. He could almost the stink of its breath, and for a moment he thought it had almost gotten him -
- its teeth scraped his ankle -
- and then he was away from it, scrambling up a mushroom in pure fear.

The words were a nice, happy, lovely friendly place. With trees that smiled and bird and-
Crashing. Why was the world crashing and shaking? tufffluff found himself looking up at the noise before hearing the cries as bird, bees, rabbits and things went running in the opposite direction of him.
And then he saw it, the giant thing tumbling toward him in it's rage. "Oh..." That was bad, he found himself backing up a few steps as he realized that... EVERYTHING WAS RUNNING. And he didn't exactly think he was ready to take on that thing. So with that in mind he turned to run. darting straight away from it as he felt it snap at his back and there was a rather loud beep from his pocket thing.
HP CRITICAL!
Well that explained why it hurt so much. RUNNING FASTER TIME! He quickly moved to spring away as the thing lowered it's head to snap again-
SNAP! It got him again, leaving the counter blaring angrily at him as he stumbled to keep going. OW THAT REALLY HURT!

sweetm00n froze as the forest went quiet. Oh jack no no no no was it happening again? But no, the grass moved, the tree branches as well. Ok - so things just. She turned around and screamed louder than she had ever done before.

He kept running, listening as he seemed to make some ground to get away from the thing. And then it was quieter. Not gone, but... almost safe.
It was then he noticed the whispering. Familiar voices, those that nudged at the back of his brain calling him to safety. It was safe there right? Away from the loud raging noise of the warning hp meter.
Sadly, he did want to believe the voices, turning back only to see the sharp row of teeth come crunching down on him. OOPS!
And then he was back at the beginning, the loud crashing starting again.

There was a bit of temptation to turn around and look, but sweetm00n had seen enough in this game to just keep on keeping on. The memory pool for example, was nice, but not actually her family. And the face of what she had seen was fresh in her mind.

He could still hear it - at least, he thought he could - but he could also hear something else too, something like voices. They whispered at him, tugged at his thoughts, and he thought he recognized them, recognized the cadence of each word as it slipped from their throats.
Am shook his head, his face paling, and tried to keep running.

As he realized it was playing over the beginning again he knew what was coming. One REALLY BIG angry monster he was not strong enough to fight.
"RUN!" Anyone who wasn't in the event probably thought he was crazy, but as the first swipe from the beast shaved off his hp he quickly turned to dart away.
And soundly got bitten as it reached to snap at him again. Still, he could keep going!

Oh Jack oh Jack! His little card beeped letting him know that he took a lot of damage, thankfully it didn't hurt hurt but, he decided to get the hell out of there.
