The Student Name: Lucille Tucker Alias: Lucy Age: 16 Gender: Female Powers: Photokinesis, Animal Telepathy, Telekinesis Aura: Orange & Pink
Appearance:
Personality: Lucy Tucker is famous for her happy-go-lucky to the point of annoying attitude, a charming smile, and dazzling star eyes. Even though she’s far from home and her world has been turned upside down, Lucy still sees the world through rose-colored glasses. She believes that it’s not healthy to dwell on bad experiences and that a smile can change someone’s day for the better. As Lucy sees it, there are too many grumps out there and a spoonful of kindness can always turn a frown upside down. So it’s best to say that Lucy is a friendly gal who is always ready to lend a hand, or just a smile, to anyone in need.
Of course she might not be bringing a whole lot of smiles when the sun comes up. At the crack of dawn while other students snooze, Miss Lucy is the student singing with the birds and celebrating the new day just as the sun peeks up over the horizon. Throughout the day she’s active and ready to go at a moments notice. For some it can be exhausting to hang around her for long periods of time. Not everyone can handle her level of pep. If you ever need a last minute buddy for some kind of adventure she’s your gal. But as soon as night falls this chipper lass turns into a sullen slug. The grand amount of energy she expended throughout the day slips away with her friend the sun. She becomes quiet, dull, and has a greater chance of becoming terribly grumpy. If there is nothing to study for or to practice Lucy will just turn in early and not rise from her cozy bed until the sun pops back up again.
When it comes to schoolwork Lucy is a very hard worker. She is motivated to do her best with the hope of going home on break one day. Is she discouraged by how long it is taking to master her abilities? Of course! But to keep her mind off of it Lucy busies herself with everything else because she hates to feel sad. Plus, as Lucy sees it, no good comes from dwelling on the past. It’s best to stay focused on the future because no matter how many bumps there are in the road, with enough determination the goals can still be reached.
While some kids despise a certain class, Lucy enjoys all the lessons at school and finds it a challenge to just pick one favorite. They each make her think in a different way and that is a great joy. Course even if she enjoys the classes doesn’t mean she’s good in all of them. While she succeeds in math and literature, history and language are a bit on the iffy side. She definitely is determined to succeed in these but when it’s late at night and she can either go to bed or study the French revolution? Bed will always win.
Outside of school miss Lucy is usually somewhere outdoors doing all sorts of activities. They don’t even have to be something that really needs to be out in nature. She’ll happily just sit on a blanket and knit or sew star patches on different pairs of jeans. Course as a girl who finds it hard to say no, Lucy has many unfinished projects stashed around her room. One day she’ll be on the road to writing a book and then the next she’s tying to learn how to play the ukulele. She definitely enjoys the arts and has a knack for it but has yet to settle on finessing one. The one constant love that will never die for Lucy, that trumps all the rest, is just being out in the sunlight where she always feels her best.
History: Lucy was born and raised as a country girl in the Midwest. She loves the outdoors and spending time with all the critters on her family’s land. The starry-eyed lass comes from a large family of hard workers who have lived and thrived on their land for generations. They’ve built a successful farm and own the biggest ranch in the area. So when it comes to crops and animals Lucy knows her stuff.
Everything was going well in Lucy’s simple but busy life until her special ability made itself known at the age of twelve. The Tuckers haven’t had a psychic in the family for many years. Right now Lucy is the only living psychic. It’s been said that her great great great grandmother was a Chlorokinetic but no one currently knows how to deal with Lucy’s gift. They would never tell Lucy but honestly they’re terrified of her power. At first her Photokinesis was a positive discovery. The crops grew quicker and the animals ate better but then, in the span of a few months, the paradise was no more. Lucy’s powers went haywire. In the beginning it started off small with some plants wilting and people feeling parched whenever they were in her presence. The Tuckers just blamed the weather. It was just a warm summer, a dry season, nothing out of the ordinary. But then when Lucy would work outside in the field she started to leave a trail of dead vegetation in her wake. The longer she was outside working, the worse it was. After a long day working Lucy was absolutely horrified to look up and see a path of death behind her.
The tipping point was when Lucy blinded two of the family's cows. She certainly didn’t mean to, she loved Thelma and Louise, but her powers were uncontrollable at that point. It happened so fast! The pair just startled her. When you’re knocked to the ground with two upset heifers pushing and shoving right above you there’s going to be a lot of panic pumping through your system. Then there was a bright light and when it cleared those two heifers were blind. Lucy still feels an enormous sickness when she thinks about those two gals. It wasn’t their fault.
That too was the day Lucy heard an animal talk. Of course her animal telepathy could of been made a more pleasant introduction instead of cows screaming in pain, sheer fright, and asking why it was so dark. After that Lucy could hear all the critters on the farm. At one point would of been amazing and granting a wish she always wanted but now it was terrible. All the animals were whispering about her, avoiding her, and saying mean things because of what happened to the cows. She had no idea animals had such a colorful vocabulary.
Not long after this incident Psychonaut officials were knocking on the Tucker's door. Even though Lucy’s parents sought to hide and brush off the problems, after the cows were blinded they could no longer keep a lock on this Pandora box. Word spread like wild fire about the girl on the farm destroying crops and hurting cattle. The stories became more and more embellished that by the time the Officials arrived, Lucy’s unfortunate story had become a gruesome and ghoulish mess of a tale.
It hurt to see how eager her family was to hand her over to the Psychonauts but the young teen knew it was for the best. She was a danger and in this environment, with no teachers or guidance, it would only get worse. ‘Yes’ was the only answer.
After that Lucy was transferred to the Majesco Psychic Academy because she was too old to attend camp. Her parents confessed that just weren’t able to handle her at this point. She was a hazard to them and the farm. As much as it hurt to leave her familiar life behind, Lucy knew it was for the best. Besides, even if they’re far apart and she doesn’t really see them anymore, Lucy knows they still love her. She’ll be able to go home as soon as these pesky powers are under control. Shouldn’t take too long…right?
For now Lucy is forbidden from returning home. Her parents believe that at this point in time, while her powers are still developing and messy, it’s best that she keeps her distance. Thank goodness for letters and care packages. Lucy sends and receives lots of those from back home. For now, while other students are home during break, Lucy lives up to the family reputation of being a hard worker. When the sun is out and she’s at her peak, Sunny does as much as she can to master her life changing talent. Because one day (hopefully really soon) she wants to return home and be a positive asset to Tucker family, not a nuisance.
