- Mega Evolution (Japanese: メガシンカ Mega Evolution) is a new transformation found in the Pluto region. Mega Evolutions are identified by having "Mega" in front of their name.
In order to Mega Evolve, the Pokémon must be holding the appropriate Mega Stone and its Trainer must have a Key Stone. Professor Sycamore theorizes that even with the Mega Stone and the respective item to resonate with the stone, Mega Evolution cannot be achieved if there is not a strong bond between Trainer and Pokémon. Each player can only Mega Evolve a single Pokémon once per battle. Even if the Mega Evolved Pokémon faints, the player cannot perform another Mega Evolution, even on the same Pokémon (which is now not Mega Evolved), for the duration of that battle.
XX｡｡｡ROLEPLAY BATTLE EFFECTS
A Mega-Evolved Pokémon has different base stats, with the exception of HP, and can have a different Ability and type from its non-Mega-Evolved form. Except for Mega Alakazam, which has 90 more base stat points than its base form, every Mega-Evolved Pokémon's base stat total is 100 points higher than that of its base form.
XX｡｡｡HOW TO GET A STONE
In order to receive a mega stone or a keystone/item upon character creation, you must put in an application for your character. Every stone is first come first serve. After a mega stone is taken, a player must and can only receive it through role-play/plot. Most mega stones are found in secret and hidden caves/mountains.
