The city is a thriving and beautiful city full of various commerce and activity. Currently, Japan is under the feudal leadership of the Ashikaga shogunate, who reside within the city.

After leaving the Captain's meeting, Rook quickly made his way out of the Soul Society. Per usual, he traveled through the Gate and landed in the human world: Kyoto. The main base of the ninth division was located within this city, in an unassuming building on the street. Still in his Shinigami form, people took no notice of the floating individual. Slowly, he descended to the ground as if walking down a stair case, his robes billowing behind him in the wind. Eventually, his sandals touched the ground and he relaxed his feet, allowing himself to gracefully land. The head quarters was only about a block away from where the portal had let him out, but before Rook could make his way over, he remembered something. The reason he had to return so quick was because most of the ranked Shinigami of the ninth division were located in Soul Society. In other words, those people had to come back as well. Lynx would probably find his way back somehow - or possibly had already come back to the human world - but undoubtedly Ari had gotten distracted after the chaos. That little punk had kidnapped him, and was probably acting as an even worse influence than Ari needed.
Rook held out his index finger, and a small, black butterfly landed on it. "Come back to the human world now, you green-haired moron," the ninth division captain thought, transferring this thought into the hell butterfly to be delivered back to Soul Society. Acknowledging the message, the butterfly flew off of Rook's finger and into the air, gracefully vanishing into the sky. Luckily, the message would be delivered almost instantaneously, thereby minimizing the time where the other high ranking members of the squad were away. With that matter resolved, Rook figured that he could now return to the squad headquarters to greet the others. He folded his arms inside his sleeves and made his way down the street, as if he was another living being among the bustling crowds. This was a habit of sorts; if any of the citizens could see him, they would think nothing of his presence. After all, he certainly didn't stand out in his robes. Even with a sword sheathed at his hip, he probably looked like nothing more than a wandering Ronin. Eventually, he arrived at the building and ducked over to the back. He had a fake body hiding behind some shrubbery, which he stepped into before walking into the building. The body was quite the stroke of genius from R&D, as it allowed for the ninth division to move about less conspicuously in the human world. "We're back," he called out to the rest of his squad in the building.

▩Zanpakuto: Sealed ══════════❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁══════════ With small footsteps, Mai had carefully stepped out of the portal connecting the Soul Society to the World of Living. She actually despised the the travel; if she didn't move fast enough, her reishi use for a path would drain her like crazy. Taking a delicate hand to her brow, she made a furious swipe to exaggerate her fatigue. Appearing the same place her captain had, she detected his spiritual footprints and quickly followed after him. It was by the entrance of the building that she had found him, stepping into the body provided specially for the ninth division. Taking place in her own, Mai brushed her clothes off for neatness purposes and twirled her hair.
"Heya Cap'n, what's the objective?" she asked with a small smile on her face. Since the situation at the Soul Society happened, with some cases of treason, it was one of the few seldom moments where she could do so.
(OOC: Not much I can say at the moment haha... Gomen! :c)

 Ａｒｉ Ｓａｔｒｉｚ Squad IX useless Lieutenant OOC: ◐ ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ ◑ Ari summoned his own Hell Butterfly to guide him out of the Soul Society into the Human World, ending up in Kyoto, where he assumed Rook was waiting for him. Ari arrived at the building that the ninth company lived and worked in most of the time, and found his fake body, and walked inside. Upon entrance, the first thing Ari did was take off his shoes and pants. He put them in a neatish pile by the door and walked into their kitchen-like room. He didn't actually get to eat, since he was called back to the human world before they ordered food. He grabbed a handful of hot peppers and began eating them as though they were strawberries, tossing the stems out the paper sliding window. He noticed Rook and the division's token female, Mai, talking in the room next to where he was, so he grabbed a few more peppers and walked up to him. "What happened? Why did you call me back?" he asked.◐ ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ ◑"I can't kill you, but I can drive you to suicide." Zanpakuto Theme:

Rook turned after he arrived to see the female of the division, Mai. He nodded at her and gave a sort of half smile in response. However, before he could speak, Ari entered and promptly began stripping. For a second, Rook stared at his pantless Vice-Captain before turning bright red. He was so flustered that he could barely speak, but he still mustered enough calmness to say, "Wh-wh-wh-what the hell are you doing?! You can't just walk around without any pants! P-p-put some clothes on already!" After saying this, Rook turned his back to Ari, ignoring him until he put more clothes on. Then, he directed his attention back to the female captain. Though he wondered what had happened in the human world, he figured that he could ask that Turk later. Instead, he took a deep breath and began to explain. "Well, as you know there was an attack in Soul Society a few hours ago. The Captains are currently in a meeting discussing what happened, however we here in the human world have to make sure that nothing suspicious happens. If the assailant tries to escape to the human world, we have to be here to stop him."

But what made her more amused was the reaction pulled from Rook. Hell, he was flustered, and fidgeted with emotions. A small giggle escaped her lips as she bounced over to Ari. "There he goes again...Are you sure you aren't maybe...I dunno..." she started off, ebbing him, "...fondling him from time to time? Eh? Eh??" The girl had developed a bit of a care-free side, that would tease and bother those in a harmless way. But as she heard her captain speak, Mai returned to her usual self: the lovely hard worker. She let the words sink in as she twirled her hair again and nodded. "What about the double-crossers....?" she asked quietly, looking at the ground. Mai's lip twisted into an expression of disappointment; it made her think there were barely any people left to trust. Ａｒｉ Ｓａｔｒｉｚ Squad IX useless Lieutenant OOC: pants are for people who aren't cool. ◐ ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ ◑ Ari watched the extremely flustered reaction of Rook, and Mai's slightly flustered reaction to his current state of not wearing pants. He glanced down at his hip and back up at Rook. "I don't really see what the problem is. I'm wearing underwear and a shirt," he grinned, "if you're uncomfortable, maybe you should take off some of your clothes. I think you would be more comfortable without your kimono." Ari flicked his hair out of his eye and knit his eyebrows in response to Mai's teasing. He wasn't sure "fondle" was the right word for the context. Unless of course she actually did mean fondle, which wouldn't be terribly surprising. Mai's lack of subtlety was almost on par with his own. "Katsuo, would you care to answer her question?" he asked, still grinning. Teasing Rook never failed to be amusing. However, Ari's smile disappeared when Rook began speaking about the attack. Ari had been either unconscious, delusional, or hospitalized for the entire duration of the attack, so he wasn't aware of what had actually happened. All he really remembered was that someone showed up and said something in Latin before Ari lost consciousness. "So if he does come to the human world, how will we know it's him? He'll most likely be disguised, and his spiritual pressure would probably also be suppressed. Had I been conscious, I could probably identify him by his mannerisms, but I wasn't." Ari leaned back against the wall and narrowed his eyes at his two squad members. What Mai said next was somewhat alarming. "Double crossers? What does she mean by that?" Mai occasionally said some cryptic things--most of which were jokes not meant to be taken seriously-- but her body language made it clear that she wasn't joking. "Mai, are you suggesting one of the captains is responsible for the attack?" he inquired. He spoke slowly and clearly, with a voice void of any hint of amusement or joy normally present in his tone. He hated to admit it, but the possibility couldn't exactly be ruled out. He hadn't noticed any signs of malicious intent from anyone he had encountered at the festival, with the exception of the skeleton man and the one who called him a sexually confused whelp, but he hadn't interacted with all of the captains. Ari began to feel uneasy, and looked at Rook, hoping for some reassurance. ◐ ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ ◑"I can't kill you, but I can drive you to suicide." Zanpakuto Theme:

When Ari replied, Rook flushed with color and grabbed onto either side of his kimono. Usually he wore it a bit open, however when his Vice-Captain pushed him he quickly closed the front and tied the waist tighter. It seemed that this little green haired moron just couldn't take no for an answer. If it weren't for the fact that Rook was his captain, this would without a doubt be sexual harassment. But since Rook was the captain... well, it was just obnoxious. To make matters worse, Mai was only pushing things farther. When she mentioned fondling him, Rook turned bright red. He quickly folded his arms and glared at both of them. The words barely found their way from his mouth, but without much stammering first. "Y-y-you guys should knock it off already!!! Nothing at all is going on and you need to put pants on, Ari!" With that last line he glared over at his vice-captain. Then he directed his attention to the more serious question of Ari's, and considered it for a moment. "His spiritual pressure was great, there's no way he'd be able to mask it completely. Our machines would pick up the anomaly he would produce and we could pursue it further." Next was the second comment of Mai's, which Ari interpreted to suggest that a captain was responsible. Rook interpreted it slightly different. "Well, they've removed the second and eighth captains and replaced them with who knows who. All we need to do is continue with our jobs and watch out for the assailant." That was all they ever really had to do: watch out for anything unusual. At the same time, the consistency was something Rook liked, and something that he looked forward to in leaving Soul Society.

Soon, a laugh began to bubble from her throat and let itself out. But her face became one of a stern look, hearing the other captains were quickly replaced. With Rook's response, she looked at Ari and shook her head no at his question. It seemed to be the best decision at the moment, but so quickly? The rest of the officers had barely any time to breathe. Mai cleared her throat and began to rummage through the cabinet behind her for a pink box. Carefully, she opened a silver packed within the box and revealed a biscuit stick covered in a strawberry cream. Nibbling at it, Mai decided to chime in. Ａｒｉ Ｓａｔｒｉｚ Squad IX useless Lieutenant OOC: ◐ ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ ◑ Ari pouted in response to Rook's order that he put pants on. "You're no fun," he whined. Though Rook getting flustered was, as always, amusing, he had to admit he was disappointed that Rook didn't take his advice. Well, Ari figured he probably should obey his captain, and tried to remember where he had put his pants. He knit his eyebrows together, concentrating. After several minutes of trying to remember, Ari gave up. "I don't remember where I put them. But don't we have more important things to discuss than whether or not I'm wearing pants?" he asked. He saw Mai grab some sort of pink food and start eating them, so he grabbed one out of her box and bit into it. He winced at the flavor. It was disgustingly sweet. He ran to a nearby window and spit it out, practically gagging. He glared at the small pink stick and handed it back to Mai. "Mai's right. We need somewhere to start." He leaned back on the wall again, weighing in the options. "I think our first priority should be finding out what's been going on here since we've been gone. How much time passed in the Human World?" Ari could never remember the exact time change between the Soul Society and the World of the Living. It was either a day is a month, or a minute is a month, or a year is a minute. One of those. Or maybe it was something completely different from all of those. Ari narrowed his eyes, once again lost in thought. He was still bothered by the assassin. He wanted to find out more information about them, and the fact that he wasn't present to properly observe and analyze the intruder irritated him. "Wait, I wasn't there, but Katsuo was..." he thought. Rook had not only seen the person, but fought them as well. "Oye, Katsuo, could it have been a hollow? I know there was some sort of sonic boom thing. Was it some sort of weird cero?" he inquired. It was kind of a stab in the dark, but Ari didn't really have much information to go off of. ◐ ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ ◑"I can't kill you, but I can drive you to suicide." Zanpakuto Theme:

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx L O C A L XX S H I N I G A M I "Captain Rook!" a shout echoes from down the street of the human world. The man, a portly fellow, slugs to the Squadron Nine headquarters. He approaches the building, quickly shunpoing to the top floor where the high-ranking officials are.
Now before the Captain, the man kneels, attempting to slow his breath. "Captain, Vice-Captain...lady." he says nodding to all those before him. Clearing his throat and wiping his brow, "Captain, word has just come in from Seireitei...it isn't good." he begins.
"My Captain...former eighth Captain Kajira Rengaifuta, former second Captain Kimmimaru Kyokosaka, Lieutenant Essui Muromi, and...the masked intruder...they're all dead." he murmurs, dropping his head. "As of now, all the officials have been alerted through dispatch. We await the Commander's orders, at this time. Captain..." he trails off, looking up at the man, "...what is happening to Soul Society?" he asks with slight terror quivering his voice.

She stared at the stick with the top bitten off and shrugged, nibbling on it again. Mai had heard Ari's proposition, and abut the time difference. Perhaps it could help the situation, but the time difference is of the same caliber in the Soul Society and World of Living. So the concurring the relativity to the now seemed to make her head swirl. As she pondered over another pocky stick, a local shinigami had made his way up to their floor and call for attention. Mai, began to slowly chew as he delivered his message. The wave of shock wrapped her in a state of cold sweat as she heard that the masked intruder had been...seized. "...D-Dead?! How did he...?!" she exclaimed, slamming the pocky box down. As she was about to shout again, a Hell Butterfly fluttered through an open window and landed on her shoulder. "The Gotei Fourteen is now undergoing a lock down. All squadrons are to report to their appointed grounds until further notice. Squadron Four will be appointed to autopsy duty. Squadrons Two, Three and Four will investigate the gate situations." Mai looked at the other two, and at the man, with a scowl on her face. "Captain..." she said quietly. ══════════❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁═══❁══════════
