█ ▌Grand Opening - Discussion threadThe Wallists have helped put together a festival to celebrate 100 years of Titan-free living! Since the mysterious erection of the walls, humanity within the city has thrived.. survived.. well, uh, is trudging along, anyways. The festival will feature all sorts of food and games, and there's sure to be a push for new recruits in the military. To really make this a successful festival, citizens are urged to come out and join the fun! Host your own festival booth of your making and mingle with others! How will it work?• You do not have to have a character to participate! • No character? No problem! You may use a temporary character only for this event. After the event, you may no longer use the character (unless you win a character and wish to transfer in). One temporary character per player. • You can create your own festival booth to join in the rp fun, or attend others' booths! Simply fill out the form below to apply for your own booth.
█ ▌Festival Booth ApplicationApplications will be accepted throughout the duration of the festival. No new applications will be accepted after June 1st May 30. Booth name: Host: (name of your character) Description: (what the booth is, how it works, etc) Tailor Ticket handout: (how will you give out the ticket?) Booths may give out one tailor ticket at the end of the event! How you give them out is up to you, whether you pool from your game winners or participants, but make sure that it is fair and give time enough for people to enter. We will be double checking where the tailor tickets come from so please withhold any bias towards friends. Feel free to post any thoughts or discussions here as well!

Love this heart Maybe add in some art to spice it up a bit? Ohh, I know, incentive for booth making and attendance!
For instance, the most popular booth ic-ly wins a bursary (moolah), which is ooc-ly kept on record as a custom item voucher. When and if you obtain a citizen or soldier, you can ask for a custom clothing item at that time.
The booth owners could be said to have been given ribbons to hand out. And then every time someone makes a minimum number of posts at any booth, the booth owner hands them a ribbon.
And the one with the most ribbons at the end wins a trainee, and then everyone else has a number of tickets equal to their number of ribbons entered into a raffle for another- or multiple- students. Maybe the most popular booth should get liek, 10 tickets automatically for the raffle, actually.

ouo I like Mythee's idea
Booth name: Pop The Bubble! Host: Rachel Mathews Description: Balloon darts game! Pop the balloons with darts to win prizes, the more you pop the better the prizes. Tailor Ticket handout: When a player rolls the dice and gets a 6 they win a ticket.
Would have a list of IC prizes to be won that are simple things like stuffed toys. Players would roll one 6 sided dice and even numbers mean a hit while odd is a miss.

I do too. :3
Booth name: Taste Test. Host: Shakuntala Tischendorf. Description: Despite Tala being the host, the booth is actually run by Tala's mother, Kamla. The rules of the game are simple: a participant is given six servings of curry goat, chicken, pork, and/or potato. The chooser must then pick one and eat the dish, but there's a catch. Five of the six servings are horribly spiced and one is fine. If a person happens to pick the dish that isn't spiced, Kamla will personally provide them meals for a month; free of charge. If not, the person is left with a broken ego and a sweltering tongue. OOCly, to play this game, I'll roll a single six-sided dice and the participant does the same. If their dice roll matches mine, they've won! If not, too bad, haha~ Tailor Ticket handout: Try as many times as you want to match my number, but each response must be a role-play response. When you do, you'll be entered in a raffle for the ticket voucher. Each participant gets one ticket for trying and can win a second by having their number match mine.

HERE'S...A ROUGH FORM ahhh ;;;; Booth name: Lindstrom Flowers Host: Elliot Lindstrom Description: If there's one word to use when describing Elliot, it's lazy, and so his mother and father have assigned the task of running their festival booth to him. Although they hope that the temporary job will bestow their son with a greater sense of responsibility, Elliot is...not taking his task particularly seriously. On the contrary, not only is he not making much of an active attempt to draw in customers to purchase his mother's beautifully grown and arranged floral centerpieces, but he has a bad habit of also giving things away for free. His mother has left with him a box of small, flower-shaped, beaded trinkets--rings, hairpins, simple necklaces, and so on--to give away as bonuses to paying customers who purchase one of her larger and more pricy creations. Elliot, however, finds it far more fit to hand them out to those who he sees fit: namely, anyone who happens to temporarily dispel his boredom and keep him entertained, even if only for a few minutes. To play, roll a 10-sided die. Each number will then be divided up in some way and offer you a prompt: Quote: Although you try to catch his attention, Elliot does not seem to notice you, too caught up staring off into space.
You try to make conversation, but he just lets out an uninterested grunt.
Something about you seems to have caught his eye, as he visibly perks up and calls out to you, asking if he can help you find anything or if you're just browsing. After a bit of conversing, he thanks you for keeping him company and hands you one of the freebie trinkets.
Elliot is far too engrossed in the book that he snuck past his parents' hawk-eyed surveillance to pay any attention to you or the other customers.
Something from the booth catches your eye, but when you turn to talk to the teenager manning it, you realize that he's sleeping very soundly. Roll one 4-sided die--if even, you wake him up and he offers you a freebie as an apology. If odd, he continues snoozing away.
As you walk by, Elliot suddenly waves you down and gestures for you to approach, lazily drawling that you're the 123th person to walk by the booth (apparently he's so bored that he's been counting) and that you've won something.
All you see from this stall is a mother and father scolding their teenage son for slacking off. Maybe you'd best wait until they leave before you check this booth out...
Elliot abruptly asks you to tell him a joke or a funny story, offering to give you a prize if it makes him laugh. Roll one 100-sided die--if 60 or above, you succeed and he gives you something. If below 60, you simply receive a blank stare in response.
...There's no one at the booth but a cat and a sign that reads, "Out for a quick snack run. Direct all questions to the cat". At least...it seems as if he packed up and brought his mother's wares with him so that they wouldn't be stolen? Aside from the note and the fuzzy feline, there is nothing else at this booth at present.
You hear a low groan from the blond who is laying face down on the surface of the booth. When he realizes that you're there, he pleads for you to save him from his boredom, if only for a little while. If you choose to give in at his sheer desperation and spare him a few minutes of your time, he thanks you by offering you one of the free accessories. Tailor Ticket handout: Each person who RPs in the thread automatically gets one ticket! Additional tickets can be claimed by watching my avatar, which will swap between two different ones throughout the duration of the event. If Elliot is reading, you can swing by and talk to him, but he's probably too caught up in his book to pay attention to you. If he's actually working though (probably after getting a scolding from his parents for slacking off!), drop by to chat with him for a bit, and you'll get an extra raffle ticket! I'll be switching between the two a number of times throughout the event, and you'll get an extra raffle ticket for each time you come back (when my avatar is the "Working Elliot") and do a bit of RP with me! Please quote me if/when you manage to catch Elliot working (for once) and want to RP for an extra ticket!

Booth name: Goldfish Scooping Host: Elenore Abendritter Description: Lenore has been forced to host the booth in order to draw more attention to the bookstore she works at, and also to maybe get her to learn to get along with people better. She thinks the latter has about as much a chance to happen as titans breaching the walls during the festival.
Each day, participants will roll up to 3 100 sided dice (One die per post to encourage RP), and try to match one of the 5 numbers I rolled. In character-wise, catching a goldfish gets you a voucher for a book from the local bookstore. Out of character, it gives you a spot in the raffle to determine who wins the tailor ticket at the end of the event.

Booth name: Find the Ball Host: Levent Binici Description: One man. Three cups. It's not as creepy as it sounds, but the man behind the table is a bit... slovenly, let's say. His clothes and hair are washed, technically, but if the fashion police happen by they'll slap him with a fine for his crime against fashion for sure.
The game is simple to the point of being self-explanatory: A small rubber ball is placed under one of three cups. Levent, swift of hand and swifter of mind (the latter being a matter of opinion, really), will shuffle the trio of cups around and around. Don't go thinking you'll be able to tell based on the noise the ball makes, because he'll be chattering or clicking his tongue all the while!
OOCly, I will randomize a number 1-3. The character's player then does the same. If the numbers match, the character has chosen the right cup. IC, they will be given... their choice of cups. They're nice cups, mind you; ornate, yet sturdy. Levent's knows a guy who owns a home good's store he's borrowed some inventory from. ("Borrowed.")

Tailor Ticket handout: Keeping it simple! I'll roll from a list of anyone who played, whether they won IC or not.

Booth name: Pin the Tail on the Titan Host: Axel Halle Description: With the help of his sister and her love of sewing, Axel has set up a booth to bring in some money for his family. A big stuffed Titan dummy is nailed to the wall of the booth, and participants are invited to throw darts at it (roll 1 10-sided die, if you roll a 1 you hit the neck, other numbers hit a list of other Titan body parts). You get one free roll, additional rolls must be accompanied by an RP post.
Anyone who rolls a 1/hits the Titan in the neck gets an adorable cuddly Titan doll to take home/dismember/whatever. Rolls of 2 and 3 (head and chest) will get other IC prizes, probably some other type of doll, and rolls of 4-10 get something useless like a toothpick or expired noodle coupon.
I will absolutely have a hideous art for the Titan dummy on the wall. Never you fear. :I Tailor Ticket handout: Raffle! Anyone who rolls at least once will get 1 ticket. Each RP post in the thread nets an additional ticket.

Booth name: Fitzgerald Spices Co. Host: Danny FitzgeraldDescription: Actually, this "booth" is merely an information and propaganda platform for the esteemed Fitzgeral Spice Co, which Danny's father owns. However, he's stepped out to attend some business elsewhere, and left Danny (unfortunately) in charge. Danny, being herself, has no interest in running the booth. She's honestly just sitting there and eating a pile of food she brought from her house, with her legs up on the table. She might even leave her booth at some point completely, getting bored with just sitting there. However, she does love games. She's begun throwing paper balls into a garbage can nearby. Maybe if you challenge her, she'll give you something? OOC Essentially this is a basketball game! Players are encouraged to RP with the booth owner, but it is not neccessary to play! gaia_star You're given 3 paper balls. Roll 2d6 three times. - If the first number is higher than the second number, you miss. - If the first number is lower than the second number, you make it. - If the first and second number are the same, then the ball balances precariously on the side of the garbage can before crashing in. That was close! To win, you must get two out of three baskets. You can only try once per day. If you win, please put the following at the top of your winning post! I WON I WON! Tailor Ticket handout: Each win will count as a ticket. Players can also earn a ticket by engaging my character, Danny, in RP. This will mostly be at my discretion, but will be based on RP activity. IE, one post where your character says hi and then walks away won't get you anything, but a person who has a long conversation with Danny might! This can only result in one extra ticket, and will be distributed at the end of the event in a FAIR way. Tickets will be rolled at the end to produce one tailor ticket winner! * ICly you win a high five from Danny. She'll share her food with you too. Very fancy rewards.

Booth name: Adams Baked Goods Host: Mitchell & Brianna Adams Description: A baked goods booth, selling everything from meat-filled rolls to miniature iced cakes. Mitchell and Brianna have been stuck in charge while their parents keep the actual bakery running - both of them so one can run off to get more stock without leaving the booth unattended. I'll put together a full list of available baked goods in the booth itself, once approved. Tailor Ticket handout: Raffled between those who rp purchasing a certain treat, that's supposed to have a chance of a coin in the middle.
