A man of the world, newly returned to Sunderland with his sister. He's supposedly a famous author. Very knowledgeable, just not a good author.
Grandfather is the Earl of Holles; uncle is Baron Clare; has another 3 uncles (father was youngest)
Traveled the world with parents (considered the eccentrics of the family, rarely spoken of); parents died in accident, and both bodies and children are shipped back to Sunderland for funerals.
Currently living with family in townhouse in Palisade, after period of mourning he and his sister attend a few family events/parties, with William trying to raise interest in the novels and find someone who might patron a young author and his sister; Charlotte does the same, but with more subtlety.
Very attached to his sister; they've been together in various foreign countries with only each other and their parents. Little rusty on appropriate Sunderland behavior.

NAME William Clare GENDER Male AGE 21 OCCUPATION Author (in name only) FAMILY Charlotte Clare, sister; Earl of Holles, grandfather; Baron Clare, oldest uncle; two more uncles; various other Clare family members ROLEPLAY COLOR #499C57
APPEARANCE A tall dark-haired brunet, tanned and with far too many nicks and callouses and scars to be considered proper
PERSONALITY POSITIVES Loyal, intelligent, cosmopolitan NEGATIVES Jealous, insecure, proud A confident young man, William is charismatic and suave. He uses his 'eccentricities' to his advantage, chatting up anyone and everyone, having picked up a variety of tricks in his travels.
He is loyal to his close people, which at the moment consists solely of his sister. Everyone else is a means to an end, even his own family (who, in truth, he doesn't really consider as true family).
He adores his younger sister, and it was his love for her that made him agree to the idea to put his name to her novels. He does his best to chat up everyone about them, believing the books to be the key to comfort for his sister and himself. A part of him feels bad at taking the credit, but another part of him enjoys the attention and is slightly jealous of his sister's talent.
HISTORY Raised with his younger sister, Charlotte, as their parents traveled the world. Their father was wealthy enough in his own right to travel, though he (unbeknownst to his noble family) did take up the trading of goods as they traveled. The family considered James Clare to be an eccentric, especially to take his family with him in his travel.
William grew up traveling the world. He has learned a wide variety of languages, as well as the art of haggling and selling.
In Zhongguo, tragedy struck, and William and Charlotte's parents were killed. Their bodies were shipped back to Sunderland along with William and Charlotte. After a long year of mourning, the pair are gradually reentering society.
